Magnificent dog-friendly home w/ lake & mountain views from large deck

With a big outdoor deck, this three-bedroom Cascade Locks vacation rental offers a beautiful river view (with the mountains behind), a large flatscreen TV in the living room, a grassy front yard for kids and dogs to play, and soft carpeting throughout the neat and tidy, retro-style interior. There's plenty of room for the whole family to spread out and make themselves at home!

The town of Cascade Locks is nestled in the middle of the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, about 40 minutes east of Portland and 20 minutes west of Hood River. Also from this Cascade River Watch vacation home, you're only a quarter of a mile from downtown Cascade Lock's shops, galleries, and eateries. It's an easy walk or bike ride!

Inside, the living room is filled with comfortable furniture for relaxing and watching TV, spreading out an after-dinner board game, or spending a quiet evening reading. Just off the dining room, you'll have access to the large deck with new furniture for an outdoor feast. In the mornings, you can come out here with a cup of coffee for a gorgeous view of the Columbia River (while this home is not riverfront, the view of the mountains and water is gorgeous)!

The full kitchen boasts a vintage, patterned floor, all major appliances (including a dishwasher) and a breakfast bar. On the nights that you don't feel like going out, you'll definitely be able to prepare a hearty meal in this bright, well-equipped space.

The main level of this Cascade Locks getaway also has one of the bedrooms - a kids' room with two twin beds, as well as a den with an extra seating area - ideal for naps, reading, or playing games. There is also a sleeper sofa in the living room for more bed options.

Heading upstairs, you'll find the remaining two bedrooms, both with a queen sized bed. All bedrooms have cozy, colorful bedding, accessories like reading lamps, bedside tables, and wall art, and there are two full bathrooms. This Cascade Locks vacation home will comfortably sleep up to six guests. Dogs are also welcome, though a nightly fee per dog and minimum fee per stay will apply. There's also a washer and dryer here, so no need trying to stay clean all the time.

Cascade Locks is home to the famous Cascade Locks Marine Park and the CGRA (Columbia Gorge Racing Association), both attract a lot of sailboat enthusiasts and sailing events. In addition, you can take a sailing lesson, attend a clinic, or just stand back and play spectator while the sailboats race by. From this great Cascade Locks location, you'll be right near the historic Bonneville Dam and fish hatchery (six miles away), as well as the the Columbia Gorge Sternwheeler, departing daily from the Marine Park for boat tours of the Columbia River.

Lace up your hiking boots and head out to the famous Pacific Crest Trail, for a walk through rolling lush wooded forest - it's less than a mile away. And when you don't feel like cooking, you're also only a mile from Thunder Island Brewing - the Gorge's newest local brewery. Other options include a number of options right across the Bridge of the Gods, in nearby Stevenson, Washington. Walking Man Brewery, Little Viking Drive-in, Big River Grill, and Andrew's Pizza to name a few.

With so much to do near this laid-back and comfortable Columbia Gorge vacation rental, you'll be sure to have an adventure whether you stay in Cascade Locks, venture further east into the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area, or head west to Hood River for a day trip of galleries and wineries!

Beautiful home, spotless and well prepared
Heather P. Jul 2019
This is our 5th summer staying at the Cascade River Watch. The view from the deck is lovely- I savored a relaxing cup of coffee on the deck each morning of our stay. The remodel was a pleasant surprise and very nice. The house is very comfortable and perfect for families. We look forward to staying again next summer.
Michael C. Jul 2019
Nice home in good condition with
ton
s of room and all the amenities we needed. Nice neighborhood. Enjoyed the deck and the views of the Columbia River and the mountains. Time for new beds but otherwise a great stay.
Kylie N. May 2019
We loved how central this house was to all the trails in the scenic area. It had everything we needed.
Lisa S. Oct 2018
The home was beautifully located and we enjoyed ourselves. It had all of the amenities that we needed.
Gill H. Sep 2018
Great location the area and things to do it was great having drinks over looking the lake and nice views
Rick M. Aug 2018
House did well for what we needed it for. Good location and Cascade Locks area was very nice. House is dated with original 70's furnishings, faucets, carpet etc, but clean. NO A.C. makes a big difference in June, July and August. Fans were there but just blow warm air around. Would stay there again after A.C. installed.
Susana D. Aug 2018
Loved our stay in this home. Except that there is no air conditioner. May help to have a wall unit. The carpet on the top floor needs to change. But it has everything in the kitchen and its roomie with a great view and close to town. Thank you
Ps. It also needs bigger trash cans
Teresa L. Jul 2018
The view off the deck was awesome, but be prepared that the home is outdated with old dirty carpet and NO air conditioning. It felt like a sauna the entire trip.
Angela R. Jul 2018
We loved it - the location was perfect , loved sitting on the deck in the mornings.
Pradeep N. Jul 2018
We liked the size of the home, and the location on the Columbia River Gorge. Excellent views of the water, the mountains, and great location. We liked all the rooms, and the house was tastefully decorated and all the amenities were provided . While we did have fans, we did suffer thru a day of high temps, without an air conditioner . That was the only negative. Else, we would certainly consider this house again.
Irina L. Jun 2018
We rented this house 2nd time. We are love this area, very good equiped house, friendly neighbors.
Allison J. May 2018
We had a wonderful stay at this property. The home is 2 blocks or so from the Columbia, which made for magnificent mornings sitting on the deck with a cup of coffee. Although the home has some outdated features, it is charming and cozy.
JUDY A. Aug 2017
Comfortable roomy house at Cascade Locks. Needs a bit of updating, but a good location with a view of the river. Lots of trains going by, but otherwise quiet sleep. Would definitely recommend for a group of 4-6 people.
Susana D. Aug 2017
the peace we all felt and how relax the whole environment is, was priceless. Close to downtown, the market, restaurants and parks. Love this place. the kitchen was well furnish. No air conditioner but then again most of time you do not need it.
Michelle D. Jul 2017
Staying in Cascade Locks while attending sailing events at the Marine Park is something we look forward to every summer. This house fits our needs well. It's simple and clean, but needs new carpet. Its a nice friendly neighborhood and quiet house with a great deck.
Sonny D. Jul 2017
Our family stayed at this house for four days and it was perfect. It has all the amenities we needed and more. This place was close to everything; sightseeing, hiking, shopping..etc. very quiet neighborhood with a beautiful backyard patio overlooking the Columbia river. The kids loved it and wanted to stay longer. Thank you Vacasa team for making our vacation a memorable one. Almost forgot, thank you for the welcome bag full of goodies. We surely appreciate it!
Irina L. Jun 2017
We were really enjoyed to stay in this good equipped house. We came for fishing and tours. All our goals are done well!!! Next shads season we plan to come back.
Kenneth S. Jun 2017
A great location that is central to sights in the Cascade Locks area. Very comfortable home with a very large deck for viewing the Columbia River.
Mason H. May 2017
Pros: GREAT VIEW ! GREAT VIEW! a lot of space for big family. two parking spots in the drive way that could fit 3 small cars, two levels with bed rooms and living rooms in both. without too many stairs around 5 steps to each level.

Cons: bad muff smell when you get it. so it needs ventilation.
cleaning fees 100$ is too much for two seniors who just used the patio for relaxation. it should

My coworkers and I were in town for work and this house was perfect! The view was beautiful, the wi-fi worked great, even with multiple devices going at once. We loved the location to Hood River and Troutdale and we enjoyed being able to walk to Thunder Island Brewing Co and the ice cream shop! The owner was very easy to get a hold of and super friendly!
Annie H. Feb 2017
Comfortable, roomy house in Cascade Locks, overlooking the Columbia. Friendly, scenic town.
Annie H. Jan 2017
Comfortable home , good views, good space and cozy despite crazy winter conditions
Annie H. Jan 2017
Feels like or home away from home, great value. Thank you
Nipun K. Jan 2017
The property is very cozy and clean. We spent a large proportion of our stay indoors because of the weather and we were very comfortable. There are 2 bedrooms on the main floor and one bedroom along with a family room on the floor below. The place is not really child proof so you need to be a little careful with infants. Kitchen was well stocked and had most of the equipment we needed to cook. There was also a grill on the patio with a nice view. Might be good for summers.
Brittany R. Dec 2016
The house was great. Two bedrooms with full size bed and a downstairs bedroom with two twin beds. There was no seperate heat for the downstairs so it was cold when we were there in December. The house was well equipped, washer/dryer, DVD, lots of kitchenware, etc... The place does allow dogs, however there is not a full fenced yard, or anywhere close by you can take them to let them run. We took our dogs over by Mulnomah falls, which is only about a 15 minute drive. Overall we had a wonderful time and would recommend this house.
Annie H. Dec 2016
A well cared for and well supplied home in exactly the place we wanted and needed a place to stay. Great value for the rental price and convenient to town and family.
Gordon Z. Dec 2016
Renting this home allowed my whole family to come for Thanksgiving and be together. We live in Cascade Locks and this location was much better than our little apartment!
Annie H. Dec 2016
The house is comfortable and well located and well arranged. It made our family gathering possible and fun.
Vladic Z. Oct 2016
It was a beautiful and comfortable stay. Enjoyed all the eminities and would definitely come back!
Janice P. Sep 2016
This is a great get way in a wonderful town. It has everything you need for a small group.
Jessica R. Aug 2016
Be aware - No A/C and the house was musky and moldy smelling. It was hardly tolerable. Not good when Oregon is having a heat wave. It's overpriced compared to other places for this reason. However, Great location between Portland and Hood River if planning to visit several different areas. No much in Cascade Locks, but close enough to Hood River and Stevenson to have what you need. Recommend staying in the area, but not this particular house.
Manager response:
We apologize that the lack of air conditioning made this stay uncomfortable; we do provide fans in our homes without air conditioning.
Mary Jane L. Aug 2016
It was fair for the price and nice to have more room than a hotel. No air conditioning. Laundry was nice. I would stay again with different expectations.
D M D. Aug 2016
We enjoyed our stay. The best places to eat were in Stevenson.
Heather P. Jul 2016
Our family spent 3 weekends at the house for sailing regattas at Columbia Gorge Racing Association. The view is fantastic. We spent most of our time out on the deck and used the BBQ most evenings. The rooms and bedding are comfortable. Overall a great stay!
Julie B. Jul 2016
Very roomy for our family of 6. Nice deck overlooking river with seating for 6. Great location for hiking and seeing waterfalls. Get groceries in Portland or Hood River, only a convience store in town. Really enjoyed our stay!
Norma F. Jun 2016
Very nice stay.
Mary M. May 2016
This was a very comfortable and well equipped home for exploring the Columbia Gorge and a quiet retreat to return to at night. The home is very well equipped and spacious. We love the deck and the view toward the river.
Danielle J. May 2016
The property was in a great location and worked well as a spot for us to get ready for my wedding. The house is a bit dated and is a strange split level house. However, it was a nice place to get together while finishing up setting up for our wedding.
Thomas R. Apr 2016
I use vacasa now whenever I can and and 100% satisfied with the service, affordability and quality of accommodation s offered.
Daniel B. Dec 2015
Very private house, with deck area for bbq and cozy lounge. Can get a bit cold in the winter, especially the first floor. Hot water also tends to run low quickly if more then 5 people take showers in quick succession. Lots of pet hair on the carpet so be careful if anyone has allergies. Other than that, house was in good condition and it was the perfect space for our group to hang out over Christmas break. Thank you.
Robert B. Aug 2015
Very few places to get a good meal in CL. We ate at Ale House which was good for a beer and pub food. The Big River Grill in Stephenson was excellent.
Marian L. Aug 2015
To celebrate my 70th birthday my cousins came from Texas and Virginia to see the Persiade Showers at the Goldendale Observatory and go to the Maryhill Museum. We were delighted with all of the amenities, the well stocked kitchen, the comfortable beds and linens, and the beautiful views from the deck in the evening . Cascade River Watch is immaculate and very comfortable and we had plenty of privacy for 4 adults. I would come back here in a heartbeat the next time I'm in the neighborhood, It was an easy drive for us after our explorations.
Brad W. Aug 2015
This home was clean and had ample amenities. The back deck was of a Trex deck type and could accomodate plenty of people to have coffee and check out the view of the Columbia river. The location was very convenient to hiking trails, restaurants and nearby highway in order to explore surrounding towns.
Kay H. Jul 2015
My husband and I along with two other couples stayed at this very well maintained home while we helped with the preparations for our son's wedding at a venue in Stevenson. The home was very well equipped and in exceptional condition for a home of it's age. Since we all are in the 60+ age category it was like a visit back in time when we all owned our first homes complete with green shag carpet! We had a very nice stay. Thank you.
Tannin S. Jul 2015
My family stayed here for a wedding nearby in Washington. House was clean, ideally located, and we all loved staying there. Was a bit warm (though record hot temperature over the weekend!), but that just made us enjoy the fantastic deck/view/bbq even more! Would definitely stay here again.
. Jun 2015
We enjoyed our stay at this vacation house very much. From the moment we entered the house it felt "homey and welcoming". The house has everything one needs for a very comfortable stay, be it a couple days or a week. The additional decorating touches in all the rooms lends a comforting feel to the house. Loved the view from the kitchen out to the river and the mountains on the Washington side of the river. Pure bliss in the morning as the sun comes up. It was too cool for the deck when we were there, but in summer that deck would draw you out with your coffee for a quiet moment as the day begins. Good neighborhood, close to all areas of entertainment that the Gorge has to offer.
Jeanne S. May 2015
We were lucky enough to stay here for a month! Part vacation, part place to land while we looked for a new home. The views of the river and hills are fantastic. Best thing to wake up to. The house is comfortable and had everything we needed. The 70's style and green shag sent me right back to my childhood and made me feel like I was staying at a friend's house. The neighbors and people in this town are super friendly. Great spot to explore the Columbia River Gorge area!
Ann C. Apr 2015
Beautiful location in a house perfect for family gatherings. Full kitchen, beautiful deck. Close to Cascade Locks points of interest and to the Bridge of the Gods should you wish to cross the river. Very relaxing for our extended family.
Helen B. Aug 2014
The house was great. Had everything and more than we needed. Lovely view of river and across to Washington State. Close to River Gorge area, Hood River and lots of mountains/hiking trails/waterfalls. There are spectacular views all around this area. Used closest park and ride Max station to go into Portland so did not have to find parking in city. Had a wonderful few days and the weather was perfect.
Manager response:
Thank you for this great feedback. We're so glad that your experience with us was such a positive one and hope you choose to stay with Vacasa again soon.
Patty B. Jul 2014
This comfortable home in Cascade Locks served as Basecamp for our family's outdoor activities in Hood River, the Gorge and White Salmon. Friendly little espresso stand just down the street and nice deck with a great view to enjoy coffee and magazines on a sunny morning. Clean with vintage feel. Only fans for cooling, but great central location.
