Lakefront home w/ private dock & multi-level deck - near beaches/dunes!

This exceptional custom-built home boasts a guest house and an ideal location on the shores of mighty Siltcoos Lake, the largest freshwater lake on the Oregon Coast, offering views, views, and more views from all windows for a 180-degree view of Siltcoos lake or the beautiful, mature landscaping. This charming, spacious home is like two vacations rentals in one -- ideal for dual-family vacations or large groups who want a bit more space or privacy.

Amenities abound both inside and out and include the use of the private lakeside deck, dock, canoe, and three kayaks. Enter this one-of-a-kind property through the garden gate to a mature, landscaped yard. Follow the flagstone walkway past the water feature to the one-level main house. The home underwent a complete interior and exterior remodel between 2000 and 2012 (new kitchen, bathrooms, windows, cedar shingle siding, stone fireplace, skylights, plus, professionally designed landscape improvements.) The great room has it all - plenty of room, vaulted ceiling, impressive fireplace, generous dining area, and panoramic view of the lake and forest beyond.

If you enjoy collaborative meal prep with friends and family, you will love the fully equipped, gourmet kitchen with its center breakfast/prep island and slab granite counters for easy flow and space for multiple chefs.

This home has two spacious master suites (one in the main house and one in the guest house). Both have vaulted ceilings, ceiling fans, shower skylights, and comfy queen beds. There are two additional guest bedrooms in the main house – one with a queen bed and the other with a double bed. The guest house great room has a queen futon sofa.

The large, partially covered cedar deck off the Main House great room adds a year-round outdoor living space with expansive views of the lake. Steps with a handrail lead from the main house decks down to the lakeside deck and private dock. Swim, fish, row, or just kick back and soak in the natural beauty of your private retreat. The charming 567-square-foot guest house sits above the detached garage and overlooks the garden, main house, and lake. In addition to its luxurious master suite, the guest house features a sun-drenched great room with vaulted ceiling and skylights, kitchenette with mini-fridge, microwave, dining table with four chairs, built-in desk, and private covered front porch with garden and lake view.

What’s nearby:
This home is a quick drive from multiple access points to the Oregon Dunes and ocean beaches including the popular access just out South Jetty Road, and the city of Florence is five miles north. The charming Old Town section of the city is filled with lovely shops, cafes, galleries, and restaurants. You will also be minutes from numerous trailheads for hiking or mountain biking. The coastal forests flourishing in Douglas fir and Sitka spruce extend nearly to the Ocean. Some trails wind up, over, and through sand dunes, offering hikers the opportunity to experience the unique natural wonders of this area. Bring your camera! Paddle Siltcoos River between Siltcoos Lake and the Pacific Ocean. This slow-moving, three-mile river is so ideal for paddlers that it’s a designated Canoe Trail. (Note: While it’s possible to reach the river from the house, it’s a very long paddle, so it is not recommended for inexperienced paddlers. It’s better to rent kayaks at the main launch point.) Take a scenic drive up Hwy 101 to Heceta Head Lighthouse where free tours are offered daily. Get your adrenalin flowing on a nearby dune buggy tour or with an ATV rental, or go crabbing from the Siuslaw Bay public fishing pier at the end of South Jetty road, where crabbing is excellent from late spring until the fresh water from winter rains force the crabs out to the ocean.

Stayed in the house for 9 days and we loved it, It’s so private with all the trees and growth around the house you can hardly see the neighbors houses. Nice view of the lake from the living room, the front is nicely landscaped with little creek running through yard and so peaceful just sitting on the bench. The deer are around every day either in neighbors yard or in this one that gives a nice atmosphere too. Love the big living room and dining area combined and the kitchen is awesome too. Will for sure stay again

The house is spacious and the picturesque setting is amazing. It was perfect for our group of 7, even in the rain!

The house was mostly clean on the interior and quiet. It was spacious and had a nice view. The local wildlife were very prominent and friendly, like something out of a Disney movie. Apart from that my stay was frustrating to say the least. The home was surrounded by thousands of pests, mainly mosquitos and spiders, including ants all over the counters. The carpets were stained and had bits of wax in them, which doesnt feel good on your feet since you must remove your shoes at the door per the sign (not mentioned prior). The exterior of the buildings is disgusting as well as the overgrowth of foliage and trees, all filled with pests as well. The railings on the stairs to the doc were loose and a danger, the telescope was broken, the washer and dryer were broken, the internet wouldn't even load a page when it was working, the dishes in the cupboard had food/stains/grease on them, the front door handle stuck and the door was hard to close, the rear door slider screen had duct tape holding part of it on, water took forever to heat if it did and it would take even longer on the left side of the home. I reported all of these issues as we found them from day 1 to day 4 (as recommend) to Vacasa, who said they would follow up. On my last day right before leaving i called them because i had not once received follow up, I was informed that my prior reports had not been submitted to the local property management. The young lady i was speaking to ensured me that she would contact the manager direct and have them call me, yet here i am 24 hours later with zero follow up and already fully charged. They obviously do not care and are just happy to take my money, which after my experience i can say they are grossly overcharging. I will never recommend Vacasa or any home under the local property management to anyone, thank you for taking away from my experience with your greed and poor customer service.
Manager response:
Hi, Joshua! Thank you for bringing these issues to our attention. We sincerely apologize for the condition in which you found our home. We are in the process of addressing these issues and will be updating this response with our progress. In the meantime, we hope the refund we issued will help you look back on your stay more fondly. We hope to have another chance to impress you. Thanks again!

Lots of stairs to get to the dock, but well worth it!

Ambiance, quiet, deer in the yard

There was a swarm of bees under the deck that attacked every time we went down to the dock, it led to multiple stings and children too scared to go down the stairs. The vacasa staff came out and sprayed our second day which helped, they also had to give us access to life jackets and paddles for kayaks. Rough start to our stay... also some housekeeping issues.
Manager response:
We are sorry to see this guest had a rough start. We have sprayed for the bees and followed-up with housekeeping about any potential cleanliness oversights. We apologize the utility room was accidentally locked before this guest arrival. We were happy to help them retrieve the life jackets from there. Thank you!

Nicely laid out home, with a guesthouse perfect for another couple. We really enjoyed the easy lake access with dock and the provided kayaks.
