A fun beach house you won't soon forget! Dog-friendly w/ great location!
This Gleneden Beach vacation rental offers all the comforts of home for up to eight guests, with a few extra amenities to make your stay especially memorable! Gather around the unique wood-burning fireplace in the center of the living room, take a leisurely soak in the master bedroom's whirlpool tub, or stroll to the quiet beach.
Situated on the Northern Oregon Coast just west of the Oregon Coast Highway, this colorful two-story, two-bedroom home offers a pleasing respite for anyone looking to get away from it all. A two-block tree-lined path takes you to a secluded stretch of Gleneden beach with its sandstone bluffs, sea lions, and adventurous surfers. Just keep the car at home, as parking is limited.
This cottage has an artsy vibe with pale wood walls and pops of blue and yellow, yet it's still cozy and homey without being pretentious. A turquoise carpet envelopes the living area, which is dominated by a wood-burning fireplace, high ceilings, and expansive windows overlooking the scenery. Guests can relax on the two comfy turquoise and gray sofas while they watch the latest DVDs on the large TV, and kids of all ages can play a board game at the built-in table just off the living room. An additional gas fireplace offers even more heat on a cold coastal night.
The open floor plan allows easy access from living to dining area. Six guests can enjoy their repast at the wooden dining table, and an additional three seats are on hand at the kitchen counter. Wooden cupboards hide plenty of dishes and pots and pans with which to cook, and the fridge is large enough to hold a plethora of snacks for the kids. No time for dishes? No worries, as the home includes a convenient dishwasher.
The turquoise theme is continued on the upper level, which boasts two expansive bedrooms and one and a half baths. A queen bed, complete with floral coverlet, occupies the master suite, which also features pale wood walls, a large terrace, and half bath. But it's the in-room jetted tub that catches the eye and offers the wow factor!
The second bedroom boasts two double beds and a bathroom with shower. A pull-out sofa offers room for two more guests, bringing the total accommodations to eight. Dogs are welcome here, too: bring along up to two dogs (or cats!), though a nightly fee per dog and minimum fee per stay will apply.
A washer and dryer will get that sand and grime off in no time, and the backyard offers plenty of space to play, or dine at the colorful picnic tables. Guests won't have to chop (or buy) their own wood as there's usually a substantial amount in the back shed.
The Northern Oregon Coast boasts many year-round attractions. Just five miles from Gleneden Beach is popular Lincoln City, home to two annual kite festivals in the summer and fall. If you'd rather stay close to home, Gleneden Beach State Recreation Site is a stone's throw away, offering sea lions galore on nearby Salesian Spit. Head to Salishan Resort & Spa for some tee time on the 18-hole golf course or a hot stone massage at the award-winning spa. Check out local art at the Lawrence Gallery in town. Kayak tours, as well as whale watching, fishing, and crabbing opportunities, abound at the various state parks in the area.
Close to the beach, with a unique sense of style and a few special touches: this is one Oregon Coast vacation rental you won't soon forget!
It was private with bushes and trees in both the front and back. Sitting around the little fire on the front brick patio was so nice the second evening. Well equipped. Bath up and downstairs. Easy walk to the beach.
Great house that is walking distance to the beach. There is a little shortcut walking path that got you through the neighborhood to get to the beach. Family friendly. The house had everything we needed for a 3 night stay. We will be staying here again someday.
My daughter loved that the home was unique. We appreciated that our puppy was welcomed with her own doggy accessories. Absolutely loved the that the home felt secluded and not right on top of the neighbors.
Great location, close to beach! Very cute and comfortable cottage!
We had a great long weekend at the Sand Castle. The fireplace was so cozy and our girls really enjoyed the jetted tub. Can’t wait to come back and stay longer!
While this house is older and could be a tad bit better maintained, you can't beat it! Dog friendly, fireplace, comfy beds and a big table to play games. We used the outdoor fire pit one evening and used the well stocked kitchen & outdoor grill to cook. Nice TV too! Great space! Super close to beach!
I loved everything about it was very cozy, clean, the kids loved it and my husband and I loved it!!! Spa bath was amazing, the rooms where great!
The house was in a great location to the beach and a nice distance from Lincoln City to give a break from the traffic. We enjoyed the view and watching the rabbits play in the morning.
It was an awesome home to stay in. I loved the bathtub in the master bedroom. :)
Open floor concept. Easy for persons with mild disabilities.
Everything supplied but the food for the weekend. Was nice not having to pack the house for a vacation.
We have rented homes up and down the coast of Oregon and this home was the worst one we have ever stayed in. One would think before each guest the manager/maintenance/housekeepers of the rentals would go through the home and make sure everything is in order for the next group that would be staying.
You clearly have rules for your guest to follow according to the book that I read. Which we followed, we left this house cleaner than it was left for us.
* We vacuumed the entire house
* Swept the floors
* Bath and Kitchen towels were washed and folded.
* Sheets were taken off the beds
* Left and load of laundry washing in the washer (Call the local maintenance man to let him know)
* All Dishes were washed (left a note on the dishwasher stating the dishes were clean)
We were somewhat disappointed, picture on website is nothing what it looks like Now, I wished I had read the reviews before booking this house for eight days, we even left a day early!! The same things we found wrong with this house during our stay was stated in August 2017 reviews only more. Yes, I did see the good reviews.
Here is a list of things we found that should be looked into:
1.No heat in house
*No adjustments on gas fireplace only pilot light was lit.
*Wood fireplace damper didn't work - lit a fire and house filled with smoke.
2. Carpet and rugs:
* Were filthy we vacuumed the entire house every day we were there, and right before we left. A deep shampoo cleaning is desperately needed for this home.
* My daughter moved the beds (her phone fell between the wall and the bed) in the second bedroom and found bugs and spiders, ABSOLUTELY UNEXCEPTIONABLE
* Not built to code, I wear a size seven shoe and my feet were too large for the steps, (I fell down from the top of bottom half of the stairs all the way to the floor) our grandson was not allowed on the outside balcony because of the spacing of the railing.
Treads are the part of a step that is stepped upon. They support the weight of the user. The depth of all the treads on a staircase must be the same from front to back, with a maximum variation of 0.375 inches between the deepest and shallowest treads. Tread depth is measured from the front and rear edges of the adjacent treads. Treads shall be a minimum depth of 11 inches.
Balusters, the vertical guards that support the handrail, must be installed close enough that the space between them is no greater than 4 inches. Most city inspectors carry a 4-inch ball with them to test the spacing. Installed balusters should withstand 50 lbs. of pressure exerted over a 1-square-foot area.
* Was overgrown and not properly taken care of.
* The wood furniture in the back of the house is rotten the table was broken at sometime and it looks like a child tried to fix it, my four year old grandson was sitting on one of the benches and the leg broke, luckily he only got a little bruise.
* The back-porch was filthy.
*Could not open the windows in the kitchen no screens, spiderwebs all over the outside of the windows.
*Skillets need to be replaced
* I think it would have been nice to have the vacuum, mop and broom in a closet
*Mold around the shower door and around the baseboards.
*Some kind of bug droppings under the cabinet were the extra towels were kept
*Mattress covers need to be replaced they look disgusting.
*New pillows not just putting pillow covers over old pillows.
*Clean under the beds
We also found some nice things about the house:
* Plenty of seating for our family
* Nice TV
*Appliances were clean
* Plenty of Dishes and silverware
* Beds were comfortable
4. Close to the Beach
We appreciate receiving such a thorough review to help us improve. The carpets are cleaned regularly when there is time between reservations, and the owner has plans to replace the lower level carpet with wood floors during the off season. Deep cleans have been performed, and maintenance is working on the other things mentioned in this review. This home was built prior to current building codes, so it does have some quirks. Thanks!
It was quite, private, and the beach mins away beautiful
Loved the ambiance of central fireplace. Glad we brought our own wood. Kids loved making smores. Nice to have the gas fireplace for a quick warm up in the morning. Beds were comfortable. Kitchen had all the essentials. We (and dog) enjoyed the short walk on the path to the beach. Had a great time.
Even being blocks away from the ocean, we heard it every day.
The fireplace worked great but be sure and bring your own wood. Not a bad walk to the beach just difficult to find the first time out.
The Sand Castle was a great getaway for the girls. We had just enough space for the four of us to overnight comfortably. All the amenities were fully stocked and easily found. The best part was that everyone slept very well. The beds were perfectly firm and comfortable. Clean and quiet, this was a wonderful place to stay for a weekend.
The house was older and had not been updated ever so it was a little funky. Whule not a bad place it was just average.
Mold in kitchen window and base of shower inside and outside. Also mold around toilets. Stairway has very shallow treads. We are short people and we had to negotiate stairway walking sideways. Very unsafe. Trees/shrubs outside kitchen window need to be trimmed back to allow daylight in (very dark). There were pans in kitchen which were cooked-on black and very disgusting. Same with the stove drip pans. Dishwasher soap container lid is broken. Gas fireplace thermostat didn't work. Appliances are outdated and carpet needs replaced. We booked reservation for 4 days at an average of $367 per day. We would not have paid $367 for the 4 days had we known then what we know now.
A deep clean for this home will be done this fall. The property manager will also be doing interior and exterior inspections to address any maintenance issues. These will include an inventory/inspection of kitchenware. Maintenance inspected the thermostat and found that prior guests had changed the controls so it wasn't working properly, but maintenance was able to address this during this guest's visit. The thermostat has also recently been replaced. Maintenance has trimmed the bushes back away from the window. The stairs do have narrow footings, but they also have handrails for safety. Appliances may be a bit dated, but they are all in good working order. Carpet does need cleaning as many do after a long, busy summer, but otherwise is in good condition. Thanks!
I'd get a hotel- the property wasn't well maintained.
I really enjoyed the house and my daughter was celebrating her Birthday. I loved the in door fireplace, that was great.
We had a girls weekend here. The house just felt like a good time right when you walked in. All six of us commented on how cute the place was.
The kitchen is stocked, the place was clean, and the little extras (indoor fireplace, whirlpool tub, etc.) really made our stay awesome.
The house is for sure older and you can see a little wear and tear, but I think this is an excellent property for what you'll pay.
p.s. you're super close to a pretty deserted and nice beach. We walked a whole brunch down there with no hassle at all.
My family and I stayed at the Sand Castle for 2 nights . The rate per night was fair for the size of the house. The beach was within walking distance and you could hear the ocean from the master bedroom. My kids loved the jacuzzi tub. The stairs to the upper part of the house were steep so we all just had to be careful walking up and down them. There was a washer and dryer in the home which was helpful. There's a coffee pot, microwave and toaster for convenience. There are some spices there to use as well for cooking. There are some pots and pans but if you have a big family you might want to bring bigger ones. Overall a nice place to stay and we plan to stay again.
We got to take our dogs and be close to the beach! Who could ask for more!
We certainly enjoyed our stay. Location was wonderful, situated 2 blocks from the beach, halfway between Lincoln City and Newport on highway 101. The only downside was the stairs to the bedrooms were quite steep, and the stair steps extremely shallow, so they are not ideal for individuals with less then perfect mobility. Overall clean, well-maintained and secure. And wonderful amenities for pets (they supplied a crate and dog dishes, although we used our own).
I had never rented a house before for a stay. This property was very well maintained and clean. Its very quaint. I would recommend this location and would have no problem renting this location again.
This house was delightful. The inside was clean and worked out great for us and our pooch. The gas fireplace worked nicely as did the jacuzzi tub upstairs. It's a quick three block walk to the beach, partly through a wooded path. The beach area was quiet and our dog loved it! I really can't wait to go again and stay even longer!
Beach access a short walk away. Access road had been washed out at bottom which made access a little difficult for our little ones but the walk was perfect. Hopefully that can been fixed soon, looks like it was relatively recent. As for the home it was perfect for us, two couples and two kids. We enjoyed the charm of the house and the fire place was fun to cuddle up next to. The layout worked well for us and it was nice to have outside furniture since it was nice out in February. We brought a baby gate for our toddler and the stairs which worked perfect and I'd suggest if bringing curious ones. Overall I'd recommend a stay at the Sand Castle
My wife absolutely loved it! This is our first time renting a weekend home and it was a great experience. The house had some outdated objects and that is one thing that she loved about it. For it being pet friendly, it didn't smell and there were no fleas or anything. She is already talking about summer time. None of the neighbors were a bother and just a really great weekend. The beach is a little walk away but not bad. I would recommend this vacation house.
very nice place to stay for the money. older people might have trouble with stairs. very steep and narrow. would stay here again.
Great place to stay! We had 2 family's and it was defiantly big enough for us. There were games available to play also. The only thing that was hard is the fireplace in the middle made the moms a bit nervous with little kids around it. Others E loved the place can't wait to visit again!
My stay was from 11/3/16-11/5/16
It was a nightmare experience, starting with trying to locate the property. Vague directions from the website lead you to the correct street, but it is a dead-end, pitch black because there are no street lights, and the house has no numbers. It is set way back from the street on a driveway, and there are no numbers at the end of the drive like there should be. I had to ask a neighbor with a flashlight to help me figure it out.
When I pulled up the drive, my headlights hit on the house, and the first thing I noticed was the ladders that were set up in front of the house. I pulled to the back entrance where the key is stored, and there was more garbage and painting supplies strewn all over the back yard and porch area. It was pitch dark, no lights on at all, and I was super confused.
Made my way inside, and saw that there was another ladder on the upstairs balcony.
That was the first issue, one one of many.
The next day I started calling Vacasa to talk about the painting mess. Seeing it in the light was shocking. The backyard had paint cans, buckets, tools, piles of trash, roller pans, rags, pop cans, and other job site detritus in about five piles. We could not use the front entrance because of the two ladders and piled of tarps in front of them. That is a safety issue-blocking exits.
Phoning Vacasa went exactly how I expected it would. It took all day with repeated calls back and forth, and I ended up super frustrated with the "support". They promised they would get someone to remove the mess. We left for two hours, and came back to a truck in the driveway. He was there PAINTING THE HOUSE. It took more phone calls to Vacasa and an hour to get him to leave.
So now let's address the inside of the house. If I wrote down everything that was wrong in there, I'd be here all day, so I'll give the highlights: only source of heat on the main floor is a gas fireplace in the corner. The fan is so loud that we could only stand it for a few minutes at a time before we had to turn it off. We had to shout to be heard over it sitting on the sofa. Yes there is that giant wood burning fireplace right in the middle of the room, but not one piece of wood on the front porch like the website said there would be.
The place is filthy dirty. The kitchen windows are covered in cobwebs and mold (inside and out). There are no curtains here either, so you get to stare at the mess while the cold air pours in. There are fleas in the crunchy turquoise carpet that they are so proud of. I recommend wearing shoes at all times.
The blinds won't open downstairs, and the windows above them are super dirty. The lamp by the small couch is held together by duct tape, and my favorite touch is how they deter you from flipping the switch that controls the internet: a knuckle bandage. Yes, a knuckle bandage. It is so gross.
The back door looks like it was attacked by a bear, a burner is popping out of the stove, and they decided to paint the fridge white. It looks horrible , especially where they let all of the drips dry all the way down the sides. Come on! Buy a new fridge. Hardware is missing, ceiling tiles droopy, this place is in a state of disrepair. It is just plain ugly. And the building materials are cheap.
Beware of the stairs if you have young ones, or old ones, or people with mobility issues. I would bet my savings that those are not up to any sort of building code. They are super steep, narrow, and the steps themselves won't accommodate enough of your foot to offer stability.
Nothing there is set up for ease of use. One couch has its back to the whole room, blocking off the heat. There are no instructions with the remote controls, so we couldn't figure out the TV, there are 3 barstools at the kitchen counter, but two are so close to the stairs that you can only sit at the end stool. The light on the ceiling fan's string is so short that you have to stand on the couch to reach it. Vacuum, broom, and dustpan are stored right by the door blocking the coat rack. Why are they randomly sitting out? Put them in a utility closet where they belong.
There is no iron or ironing board, FYI. That was something that surprised me, since all homes I have rented in the past came equipped with them. Of course this time I needed them, and no luck.
It does not look like the pictures on the website right now. Not at all. They had a savvy photographer and copy editor write that bio, but it is way embellished. I wish I could post my pictures here. I came down for the funeral of one of my best friends. This house made a terribly painful experience so much worse. Please do not rent this place. You will regret it.
We are very disappointed to see that this guest's experience was so negative. We apologize for the miscommunication regarding the painting schedule and the impact it had on this stay. The painting is done and the address numbers replaced. The gas fireplace fan is working normally, and firewood for the wood burning fireplace is in a shed outside. A thorough deep clean will be performed in the unit before the new year to help with other issues mentioned.
A nice place to stay if you want to be centrally located on the coast--a decent grocery store nearby-- and w Lincoln City/outlet shopping in the north and Newport/Waldport/Florence and sand dune bugging, crabbing, clamming, Rogue and the aquarium to the south--it serves visitors well! Nice and quiet on Gleneden Beach!!
This house is a good beach house. When you go to a beach house, you don't expect perfection. It is a place to sleep after a long day playing. The amenities were good. It was accurate to the posting. We would recommend to some of our friends but not all - some are higher maintenance than others. We liked the option of a late checkout. The proximity to the beach was great. The beds were comfortable and we really liked the jetted tub. We did have to call management a couple of times, however. The grille was not accessible. Also, one afternoon, a bat was flying around inside the house. This was a bit disconcerting. The house could have been cleaner (dusty), there is a plant actually growing inside the house (it came in from the outside). The place is a little run down, could use some paint. Also, in the upstairs bedroom, the window cranks were broken off, no screens, and there were no curtains on the windows. This really needs to be fixed. All this said, we did have a very fun time at the Sand Castle. We never saw the owner/manager. The price was good too. Thanks.
It makes sense with being a pet friendly property and we just didn't think about it prior but when we arrived we started noticing fleas. It should be treated periodically if pets continue to stay. Overall we enjoyed our stay and its location
We are so happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay. We have treated the home and there have been no signs of fleas. We appreciate your feedback and want to thank you for choosing Vacasa for your vacation rental!
It was a pretty cute house. The mattress in the master bedroom was a little uncomfortable, and the pillows and sheets were a little musty. When I took a bath in the jacuzzi tub, there were bits of old hair and lint that came out when I turned the jets on. There were a lot of fleas in the carpet also. The TVs came with Netflix so I could finish watching the new season of Orange is the New Black, which was cool. Overall, it was a pleasant place, I don't think I will stay there again just so I can experience other areas of the Oregon Coast.
The home has been treated for fleas, and the jets have been thoroughly cleaned. We apologize for these issues during this reservation.
Affordable house with easy beach access and a nice outdoor patio space.
Booking the Sand Castle for the weekend was kind of a last minute thing due to other plans falling through - but I couldn't be happier!! The house was so cute with all the charms you'd expect from a beach home. The circular fireplace in the living room was such a treat! The kitchen had a great supply of dishware and silverware, and the dog bed/toys were a great touch! The stairs are definitely small and steep - even our dog was weary the first time coming down. But the spa bathtub in the master bedroom is AMAZING!!! We also enjoyed sitting outside around the fire pit and hearing the waves crash to shore from a couple blocks away. Overall we had a fabulous time and made some great memories. I will definitely be coming back to this house!
this particular house "the sand castle" was recommended by a friend who also had a great experience a couple months ago. It's a 2-3 minute walk from the beach 10-45 minutes away from many, many places and family activities such as several whale watching spots, alder house of glass to the Oregon Coast Aquarium in Newport. Locals are very friendly, kind, suggestive and helpful.
Enjoyed our stay here over the 4th of July. The house is very unique and comfortably fit us and our friends. Would love to come back in the winter and be able to use the fun fireplace. It's close to the beach and has everything you need in the kitchen.
Perfect for our small family and 2 dogs.
First time in Oregon for our family vacation and we were hesitant to get a home rental because picture don't always portray real life, however they provided what they say online and some.... we had a great experience with all the whole family, beach was so close to our rental you could hear the wave crashing down at night very cool for those that love mother nature!!.....our kids loved the upstairs and games that came along with the home!!!....and wife n I couldn't have been more relaxed on their indoor mini hot-tube, fire place, movable fire pit outside, even fire place inside was cool looking, but the real deal for me was the grill and how close we were to everything around us....grocery stores, beaches, cafe shops it was everything we were hoping for!!>...
We loved this home! The layout was really fabulous and we would like to return with more people. The two fireplaces were awesome and such a mellow area. Beyond happy with the place and look forward to staying again!
Was the perfect rental for our family of 6. Had a wonderful vacation.
The Sand castle home.. Well its a small home.. The stairs were a hit with our 6 year old. Counter level was short enough our 6 yr old didn't need a step stool to brush her teeth or wash her hands. Curtains seems to be a bit of a peep show for neighbors. Fire places, I love the round fireplace. Some things are out of date. But I didn't mind at all. The washing machine for laundry, brought some great memories back of me being a small child doing laundry with my G-ma.. I really was looking forward to the old fridge.. Feel horrible for the ones to find out it was going out on their trip there.. The paint job on the new fridge. That is a bang up job made us laugh. The dish washer well not much you can do with fools playing and breaking your goods you supply for your guest. I laughed so hard when I saw the work job of the stick and zip ties to fix the upper rack in it. Thank you for that :) .. Over all we had a BLAST in this house.! :) THANK YOU VACASA TEAM..
Great house for a small family or couple. stayed there with 3 kids and they loved the fun stairs and jacuzzi in the bedroom. Just a note that the stairs are extremely steep and narrow so it could be a concern for small children or the elderly. Everything was clean and in working order. Especially enjoyed the gas fireplace and large nice tvs with lots of channel choices.
Great proximity to the beach just a short walk with the trail right across the street from the house.
My boyfriend and I had such a great time staying at The Sand Castle! The living room fireplace is so awesome...and the bedroom hot tub was such a treat and a nice way to end every day. I would highly recommend staying here and we will def stay here again.
Very comfortable layout, well stocked kitchen. Private treed small yard. Easy access to the beach. Electronics and wifi operated flawlessly. Overall we had a lovely 7 night stay in this affordable and charming rental and hope to be back! 😀
We stayed at The Sand Castle recently and while the amenities were okay (beds were comfy enough, couch/tv, etc were good), the smell from the fridge overpowered the living area and made the kitchen all but unusable. It was impossible to store food in the fridge without the stench of the fridge impacting the food. We ended up having to eat out for meals and the expense was definitely a major hit to our travel budget and had a negative impact overall because we had rented a property with full kitchen to avoid such expense --- we did not expect that the kitchen would be unusable. The Vacasa staff did not address the concern in a timely manner, or to my satisfaction -- the smell of the fridge was so awful, it's even detectable on beer bottles we brought home for recycling. It is truly unreal how awful the stink was/is. If the smell of the fridge 'passed muster' by these folks, you should do yourself a big favor and pass on by this property.
Thank you so much for sharing your feedback in your review and letting us know about the fridge during your stay. After you left, the Owner of the home replaced the fridge so future guests will not have to worry about any odor in the home. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed everything else in this wonderful home and hope that you get a chance to come back and reform your opinion of it!
Stayed here for couple of days with several little kids, very quiet and cozy property. Nice private backyard with lots of blackberries around. Two blocks to the beach. A little bit outdated furnishing but still decent.
I really wanted to stay at a property with an ocean view however my husband really liked the idea of staying in an A frame house and upon looking at the pictures and seeing the amenities offered at this property I decided it would work for our group. We had 2 adult couples & my 17 year old daughter. I was concerned about there being no air conditioning and it being too hot being we were visiting the first week of August however even though we were not directly on the ocean there was a very nice ocean breeze that came through when you opened up the doors. I will say the pictures of the outside are not up to date with how it looks in person and upon driving up I was disappointed and a bit scared of what we would find inside however I was pleasantly surprised to find the inside very charming. No it's not high end fancy & yes you can tell it has been lived in (some stains on the carpet) it still felt clean & comfortable throughout. I know another review had mentioned something about pet hair being everywhere? I will say we found nothing of the sort and although we did not bring our dogs
With us I found it very refreshing to see all the pet supplies that were offered from a nice sized kennel to blankets & towels specific to pets, a very nice touch. TV's were nice sized and offered a decent cable package as well as Netflix. Internet worked seamlessly, we didn't encounter one problem with it. My husband & I found the bed in the master to be comfortable enough and my in laws didn't mind the beds in the second bedroom and my daughter found the couch downstairs once pulled out to be very comfortable as well. All in all this property is very cute & charming and we would have had no problem staying for a week or more and found we really didn't want for anything. The only issue I had was parking, the driveway fits 2 cars however they won't fit side by side so being we did have 2 cars we found ourselves having to move one in order for the other to get out so with that being said the only other thing I would suggest would be for the owner to maybe give the outside a fresh coat of paint & cut back the bushes in the yard as it was a bit over grown but nothing that would keep me from returning to this property next time I'm in the area!!!!!
This place is one of the nicest we've found so far in the Lincoln City area. It was comfortable, well stocked, and close to everything the area has to offer. The neighborhood was very peaceful and had easy access to the beach at Gleneden.
The beds were cozy and the big jetted tub was a nice surprise. The big retro fireplace was a great way to settle in and relax on a cool evening. For the price, you really can't beat this home.
We will be coming back to the Sandcastle for our next trip to the shore!
The only thing I would mention is that the stairs are steep and narrow so if you have very small children bringing a couple of baby gates would be advised.
You are just a block and a half from the beach. Locate the ivy lined trail and walk towards the sound of the waves. The beach is windy but empty of people (at least in mid-July).
Very warm and welcoming place to stay. GREAT location and very easy access to beach. Couldn't be happier. If you have a problem with pet hair this is not the place for you if you don't mind it then it is. In the middle of Lincoln City and Newport which we loved. Kids really enjoyed the jetted tub. Great feature to this house.
We loved the house. It felt like the coast with the deco, & furnishings. Very comfortable , & great price.
We found this house nice, clean, in a quiet neighborhood just what we were looking for! We hope to stay here next time we go to the coast!
The sand castle was a great place for our family to stay. Can't wait to come back. Excellent.
