This traditional log cabin is perfect for families (and up to two dogs) looking to escape into the fresh mountain air! Snowy winter days are no match for the living room's circular fireplace, which keeps the cabin warm and welcoming no matter the weather. On summer nights, you can soak in the mountain ambiance on the porch swing, roast marshmallows around the outdoor firepit, and swap stories of your adventures among McCall's natural wonders!

This home sits a quarter-mile up the road from Ponderosa State Park, and a few blocks north of McCall Golf Club. You'll be just over a mile from the center of downtown McCall, where you'll find cute shops, restaurants, breweries, and recreational outfitters. Come summer, the shores of Payette Lake are ideal for swimming, paddleboarding, and boating from Mile High Marina (one mile southwest). In the winter, skiers and snowboarders will find prime Idaho powder at Brundage Mountain Ski Resort 11 miles north.

We stayed 4 nights in December and wished we could spend the whole week! The kids had fun playing in the snow and we enjoyed sitting by the fabulous fireplace reading and relaxing, We did go through 12 bundles of wood!! The kitchen was well stocked for our needs and there were plenty of blankets, too. We will definitely be back.

Nice fireplace but no firewood waiting for you. Not very welcoming walking into a 50 degree cabin with no way to heat it quickly.

This was our first trip to Idaho to visit our oldest son. Needless to say, we fell in love with the sweet little town of McCall. We plan to go back as often as possible. Rustic Retreat was the best outfitted cabin we have ever rented. The owners really have thought of everything, down to even a backpack for day trips! Although this was one of the smallest cabins we have rented, it was the most comfortable. Luckily the weather was cool enough that we could enjoy the wonderful fireplace each evening. We will definitely return many times and hope the cabin is available.

Rented this cabin as a meeting place for Mother’s Day weekend with mom and my sisters who live in Nampa, ID. We traveled from California to spend the week in Idaho with family and experience something unique. We started the week in Sun Valley (Hailey & Ketchum ID) and really loved it Sun Valley is a beautiful world class destination but unfortunately if you’re not skiing or Warren Buffet or Jeff Bezos then it’s not much of a place for regular working folks (unless you work there). So our next stop after a pit stop to gather family in Nampa was McCall. This cabin was newly listed and it instantly grabbed my attention on T Advisor (wish I would’ve booked direct through Vacasa as T.A. Added $60 on the price), however we arrived and were literally taken with the beauty and articulate design of the place. We instantly felt at home and memories of family gatherings in Sonora and Feather Falls, CA at our late grand fathers cabin and farm came back to us. We remembered and relived those experiences over the weekend and bonded and healed our old wounds. We spent the beautiful weekend (unbelievably great weather) swimming, hiking and fishing. The kitchen was a place for preparing incredible food and eating at the beautiful dining room table as a renewed family. The living room and fire place provided the perfect setting for sharing memories and laughs. The bedding, bathrooms and shower were better than any hotel. The topping on the cake was the cool vinyl collection and turn table which we enjoyed immensely. I thank the owners of this beautiful cabin for sharing this wonderful place and providing a setting for the priceless experience we loved.
