Nice quaint home, all you need for a great vacation home to get away. Well kept, nice and clean. Great place to stay! Hope to be back next year.

Rented this home as lodging for my daughters graduation from WCU and to do a little trout fishing. The home was great - next door neighbor was very nice and kindly allowed us access to the river from her property -otherwise access to the water would have been difficult. Loved the porch/swing, had beautiful weather. Had a great weekend and made great memories! Thank you!!

Thank you for sharing your home. We had family members who have limited mobility and the home was good for their needs. It was clean and had all we needed to enjoy meals at the house and long talks on the deck. Comfortable beds and plenty of seating for all 5 of us.

This home is beautiful, clean and welcoming. It is close to everything, waterfalls, Cherokee, Bryson City, and Sylva. The only problem we had was the traffic noise. It is constant all day and all night. Since the house is sitting right off of a main thru fare.

This cabin was very nice. Nicely decorated, clean; the perfect size for my family. The property was very nice and we took advantage of the outdoor patio and fire pit. My husband enjoyed napping on the porch swing! We also enjoyed the Barkers Creek Bridge which was accessible from the side of the property. There is road noise but we are from the city so it was something we could easily tune out. There is a train track just behind the house but we only saw one train (engine only), the entire trip.

Our only complaint was the lack of access to the river. We rented this property because we had intentions to go fishing. My husband and children were all disappointed in this. When you see the pictures provided they are very misleading. The picture is taken from two properties down. Both properties next to this one have water access. So if you are looking to fish from the property, this will not be the place for you. This is the reason we didn't give the property 5 stars. If the water/fishing weren't a focal point for our trip then this would be a moot point.

I tried to find a means to contact property management to see if there was an alternative access point but could not find any means to do so.

Overall we still had a great trip. We took advantage of the numerous hiking trails and access points to the waterfalls in the area. And even saw a bear during one of our hikes! Make sure you grab trail maps before you head out.

We did a jump over to Hendersonville, which has great shops and one of my favorite wineries. If you love wine, visit Saint Paul Mountain Vineyards. You can make a day of it and also visit Burntshirt Vineyards which is only a few miles from Saint Paul, but I prefer Saint Paul!

We love this part of North Carolina! Every time we visit it just confirms this is going to be our future home.

Fully stocked kitchen and everything in great shape!

My brother in law and I took our 9-year-old boys for a week of no electronics and outdoor activities. The house was clean and well furnished. The boys enjoyed playing in the river but it was a bit tricky to access. The train wasn't an issue as I only remember it coming by once while we were there and that was around 11 am. The last mile to the house on the one-lane gravel road wasn't so bad but you need to go slow as there are lots of blind curves. The Wifi worked well but there is no cell reception at the house. You can get reception once you are halfway up the gravel road. Overall it was a great stay and there are lots to do in the area. We kayaked down the Tuck river and went whitewater rafting down the Nantahala River which was amazing, probably the nicest river I've seen. We also went guided fly fishing in Nantahala National Forest in a creek which was beautiful and fun. I tried fly fishing in the river behind the house without any luck. Great stay. Can't wait to go back.

This house was perfect for our family trip to celebrate birthdays. There was plenty of room and everything we needed. It was close enough to a store to get anything we didn't bring with us. The drive way is long and gravel. Our GPS took us to the house but on the other side of the river. It was easy to get to once we crossed the river. Overall I give this house a 5 out of 5 rating. Thank you for a great time.

My friends and I enjoyed our stay at your mountain house! We were there a week and enjoyed it very much and we plan on staying again soon!

House itself is very nice with very comfortable beds. The road into the house is horrible and the major road on other side of river causes a considerable amount of road noise in the house, especially in the master bedroom.

Loved the location and the comfortable accommodations. The gravel road was daunting the first time coming in but after that it was just a part of getting to the house. Would have liked to have cable TV in the bedrooms instead of just DVD capability but other than that a beautiful and well maintained change from the hotels near the Casino.

The house amenities and location to nearby tourist destinations was great!

This home was perfect! Clean, updated, with everything we needed for a relaxing vacation. It was spacious and cozy. We loved grilling out on the gas grill in the evenings. Follow the directions that are sent, GPS is confusing, the road was steep, but my AWD vehicle handled it fine. I would highly recommend this home for families or groups.

We loved our stay at Trout Landing in Whittier. This house was beautifully decorated and well stocked with great kitchen/cooking accessories. It was very neat and clean! Loved the hot tub! Has both Charcoal & Propane Grills. Loved sitting outside on the porch with the nice table and chairs, porch swing, and beautiful wood benches! The front yard had railroad tracks which provided a nice backdrop for pictures as did the back yard with a private entrance to the beautiful swinging bridge over the Tuckasegee River! The fire pit was a hit where we roasted hot dogs and marshmellows. We enjoyed fishing and relaxing. The nearby fresh fruit and veggie stands were awesome as was the flea market. Dillsboro is a short drive with great places to eat out! This house comes equipped with linens and towels which is excellent and even soaps, shampoos, and paper supplies to get your trip started, which was very appreciated. You may want to bring a Firestick for the TV and movie viewing, as we didn't have much success with the Direct TV, but the house did have some movies and a DVD player provided as well as books & games. We loved our stay!
