Expansive wooded home w/ a brook, hot tub, firepit, & shared pool
While you may not get to live in a treehouse, this lovely wooded Rhododendron vacation rental is the next best thing! You're surrounded by Douglas Firs at this secluded cabin with its hot tub, deck, and bright and airy interior. A family or group of friends would find this the perfect getaway.
Situated beneath a copse of trees, you'll find true seclusion here even though it's part of the residential community of Timberline Rim. The home is located in the town of Rhododendron, about 21 miles from Timberline Ski Area and just a bit further to Mt. Hood Meadows Ski Resort. Surrounded by the nearby national forest, greenery and peace await.
This modern alpine chalet has a brook at the back of the home. Walk along a stone path in back (including a bridge) to the rustic firepit, perfect for cool summer nights. Inside, you'll find a chic and tastefully furnished interior. The living room is large and bright, and affords many spots to enjoy a snuggle and there are many board games and puzzles for family entertainment. A striped couch dominates, offering plenty of cushions to recline on near the pellet stove. A wooden chair and overstuffed chair with ottoman offer the perfect spot from which to admire the outdoors through the floor-to-ceiling windows.
Let your feet sink into the carpet as you head to the formal dining table with seating for six. You'll still be able to admire the environs through the myriad windows nearby.
The kitchen is open and cozy, with lovely updated wood cabinetry, stainless steel appliances (including a dishwasher), tiled backsplash, and plentiful counter space on which the home chef can prepare a family meal. There's even a two-seat breakfast bar for quick meals and conversation.
Guests can choose from three bedrooms across two stories here, making this home ideal for up to eight guests. Head through two French doors and you'll find the larger of the two main-floor bedrooms. A queen bed dominates the space, but there's also a TV, comfortable furniture, and a DVD player with a library of movies. The other bedroom includes two lovely twins in wooden frames and a picture of a fox on the wall. You'll find two full baths down the hall, one with a tub and the other with a standalone shower.
The master lies on the second floor and features a luxurious king bed, air conditioning, vaulted ceilings, and wooden furniture. There's also a loft area with a sofa bed (including a queen-sized memory foam mattress ) and a flatscreen TV for your enjoyment (with streaming capabilities for Netflix/Hulu).
A hot tub awaits near the back deck, affording guests a place to unwind after a long day of skiing. The deck wraps around the property and boasts a gas grill and bench seating for a spot under the stars. You can listen to the sounds of the creek below, with the view of the mountain while on the deck!
Guests also have access to free WiFi, cable TV, and a washer and dryer.
Rhododendron is a small town in the Cascade Mountains. Its unique location means it's the perfect base for a ski vacation. The town isn't far from five ski areas and the national forest lands nearby mean you can hike, bike, snowshoe, or cross country ski, depending on the season. It's also famous for two Oregon Cascades Birding Trails. And during the summer months, enjoy the shared swimming pool (open from June through September).
Expansive, chic, and with all the modern comforts, you'll feel as if you're in the clouds at this Mt. Hood vacation rental!

My husband and I had a lovely stay here for our anniversary weekend. The cabin was very clean and had all the amenities we needed. The huge floor to ceiling windows are beautiful. The location is perfect, there is a grocery store and several restaurants just a few miles down the road. With multiple bedrooms and bathrooms it is a bit much for just one couple but would be perfect for a family or two couples to share. We will definitely be back in the winter to check out the snow! Highly recommend this place for a peaceful getaway.

We had a wonderful stay here- very kid friendly and comfortable. Lots of games and puzzles! The upstairs bedroom has a closet that can be used for a pack n play if you need that as well :) We'll be back!

The house had everything we needed Nd was very clean.

We loved how the home was graciously stocked with anything that you might have at your normal home (extra blankets, games, laundry detergent, shampoo, salt, spices, dishes, trash bags, etc..) Plenty of space for our families to move around and not feel cramped. Everyone felt like we had our own space. Wonderful stay.

My family and i stayed for a week and it was a very relaxing and peaceful week. The house is extremely cozy and had everything we could possibly need. The hot tub was definitely my favorite part of the day. The kids and I love walking down to the creek. The only reason i dont give the house 5 stars is because i wasnt expecting to be so close to others houses right next door. There was a house under construction across from the house and I dont think the workers knew that we could see them from the living room when they would go pee. Aside from that we visited alot of nice places that was only a short drive away. I would definitely go back.

The house was well equipped. We cooked while we were there. There is plenty of pans, dishes etc. The pellet stove was nice. It’s not as remote as pictures looked on line. Overall a nice relaxing time was had.

We just loved staying here. We all played card games every night, ages from 80yrs young down to 14yrs old. Just a lot of family time and fresh air.

Fun home, kid friendly
Apart from the bathrooms being side by side
And not one on the 2nd floor
It’s pretty nice

What an amazing property! The cabin is beautiful and the views from the living room and balcony are outstanding. The creek and onsite bridge felt like they were straight out of a fairy tale! Couldn't have been more pleased with our stay. Will definitely be back!

The location was gorgeous, there's actually a ton of things to do in this town and has adorable bars! The hot tub and deck was the best part it was beautiful especially in the mornings. They had it stocked with lots of food and spices too.

The staff at the Vacasa Mt Hood office were very helpful. I highly recommend Vacasa. This particular house was fine but a little noisy because it is so close to a fairly busy road.

Very clean and cozy house. Everything was great!

Great place close enough to slopes for Spring Break fresh snow. Quiet and spacious. Hot tub needed cleaning.

Tha family had a comfortable stay at this cabin. Clean, nice views and the kids enjoyed the backyard and creek. Close to Mt Hood and a lot of hiking trials in the area.

What a perfect home to spend with family. We had such an amazing time and the local manager, Kris was very responsive and got right back to us with any questions we had about the home. Highly recommend staying here if you want to get away from the city noise and just enjoy nature and the people around you. Thanks for one of the best vacation rental experiences ever, Vacasa!

This home is so comfortable clean and spacious. Our family had a wonderful time. Very close to ranger station and lots of great hiking. Hot tub was as lovely after a day of hiking as it would be after skiing.

WE had a wonderful weekend stay for Mother's Day.
The property is beautiful and well maintained.
Lots of activities in the area to enjoy.
The weather wasn't the best but we made the best out of it.
We couldn't get the stove to work, so called your office and someone was there within an hour (or less).
Love the hottub!

This was a great rental for the price and location. It was off a main road but still very quiet. The main room is massive with amazing big windows. My only complaint is that none of us who slept there thought our mattresses were even remotely comfortable. By the last night of our stay, we were sleeping on the couches, chairs, and floor.
Dana V.Dec 2016
Enjoyed few days of relaxing, snowboarding and snowshoeing with cabin as our base. Very spacious open Floorplan with creek running in back area. Definitely not private - backyard view is of many other cabins. But we enjoyed.

The property was fantastic and check in/out was beyond easy. The deck and hot tub were wonderful and the rooms were perfect. The only problem we had was that we didn't spend much time there and ended up in the car way too much of the weekend going back and forth to Portland. It's about an hour to the city, so if you're planning to spend a lot of time there, it isn't very convenient.
The property itself was fantastic, though! If anyone wanted to spend the time in Rhododendron, I'd definitely recommend it.
Shawna K.Sep 2016
The view from the living room is extremely beautiful and realxing the pellet stove added a nice cozy feel. The hot tub was hot and clean, and there was plenty of fire wood for the pit. The beds are rather hard though, and my friends who slept on the sofa bed had stiff and sore backs the next morning
Adair F.Sep 2016
The house is lovely with everything you could want plus a hot tub. Easy excursions to Gov't Camp or Timberline. Don't miss breakfast at the Barlow Trail Roadhouse. Can't wait to come back and see more of the mountain!
Charlotte C.Aug 2016
The home was comfortable and clean. We loved the kitchen and bathrooms. The only shortcomings were no sheets & pillowcases for the sofa sleeper, lack of privacy in the loft, and needed a larger (or 2) shower curtain(s) in the big bathroom. The deck, brook, hot tub, etc., were wonderful. It was a beautiful view with all the windows, but houses were very closely packed together in this neighborhood. We weren't in the house much, so this didn't bother us much. It's a nice place for our type of purpose (wedding and sightseeing), though I wouldn't recommend if you want to be home more to relax (traffic noise, close neighbors, etc.)
WALEENA C.Aug 2016
This house is well maintained. It was clean and had really nice wooded views. The pictures on the web were accurate. The local manager was great and very help full. We would use Vacasa again. In the future I would rent this house for another week.
Judith H.Aug 2016
Loved this place, will definitely come again.
Sara M.Jul 2016
This house is close to Mt Hood, hiking,Timberline and restaurants.
The house is cozy and has everything you need for a comfortable stay.
The deck and outside seating areas are run down.
You will hear street traffic and you do have visible neighbors surrounding you. It is not in a private setting at all!
Rebecca H.May 2016
Had a great stay! Definitely hope to come back again in the future.
Daniel S.May 2016
Better than advertised. Loved every moment of it.
Jeffrey J.Mar 2016
It was nice sitting in the hot tub after snowboarding all day...great place to rest...thank you we shall return..
Amity W.Feb 2016
Great place to stay, pretty area to go for a run and the hot tub was awesome on a chilly, rainy Oregon evening.
Heather N.Feb 2016
Overall, we made great memories. As a group, we just felt shorted on things and when you spend good money, you only hope to get what you paid for.
We are sorry to see that you were disappointed with your experience with Vacasa. The Property Manager will investigate your reservation to see what we could have done better. We are delighted to see that you still made great memories!

My family and I met up for the weekend. We enjoyed cooking our own traditional foods - salmon, moose meat, and breads. All the cooking and baking supplies we needed were provided. We hiked to Ramona Falls, which took almost 4 hours. It was a pleasure to come back to our meal in the crock pot and the hot tub. We truly enjoyed this beautiful chalet.
