We were looking for large kitchen and eating area for our large family to host Thanksgiving dinner. We also wanted two master bedrooms. We got that with this large family-friendly home. We would totally rent this again. Perfect for all the grandkids. Just don’t expect fancy or new. Great location too.

Great location, very easy beach access. It was well priced for such a large house, but it was a strange design and there were several things not working properly.
Manager response:
We are sorry to see there might have been some maintenance issues with this visit and wished the guest had called for assistance. We appreciate all specific feedback as it helps us to better improve. Thanks!

The house worked fine for our needs. If you're looking for luxury, keep looking. If you just want a decent place at a decent price, this is a good pick.

Gives you access to a spot on the beach separate from the public drive through point, so you basically get the beach all to yourself unless you want to join the crowd farther up the beach. The waves are large enough to get some fun out of, but not so large as to be daunting to those new to the beach. There's a some fun dunes and caves nearby.

The house itself is very large and is good for a large gathering (like the wedding we had going on). There's some marked signs of age about the place, and the stairs leading to the top floor - while sturdy - were designed in such a way that seemed unsafe for infants, with large gaps between steps that would lead directly to a 10-20 ft fall. They keep it clean and the price was reasonable if you have a full house, but if you don't need 16+ people in a single room then I might recommend renting other similar properties along the shoreline. Speaking of which, there's so many beaches in the area you can easily enjoy the space with extended family and friends, the people who couldn't stay with us in the big house were all within a 3 minute walk from us in another nearby beach house. Having visited another beach house, I was struck by how much more colorful and lively it looked compared to the large house we rented. The big house was completely white and gray with only a handful of paintings as decoration, overall it looks classy but drab. If you would prefer a white colorless house though that might be a plus for you.

Note: the oven is lit electronically, while the stove is lit by gas, which was a bit confusing.

The support staff was friendly and responsive, which was good because we had some confusion getting in. Overall recommended for a big group, despite my nitpicks I just had one of the best weekends of my life there.

The house was clean but showing lots of wear. Much of the furniture is worn out (and one chair was broken) and the mattresses (3 of 4 queens) were not comfortable. The shower head in the master sprayed water all over the bathroom. The grill worked, but was filthy. The house was probably quite nice when it was new, but it could use some updating. This is consistent with what I read in the reviews before I booked and the price seemed to reflect the condition. I got what I expected at the price paid.

Perfect for 2 family's with lots of room for entertaining. The lower level rooms are okay for a family to share or bunches of kids. The beds are not extremely comfortable down there, and sharing one bath is tough. The upstairs suites are amazing. The gas fireplace is not hooked up though.
From the upstairs balcony you can see the "rock", the Cape, and a sliver of the ocean!!

Great house to stay at. Plenty of room.

This property is in a great location and the layout of the house is good for larger groups however, it is in pretty serious disrepair. We were also disappointed with the cleaning job that was done before we arrived. When we got there we found five bags of trash from the previous guests in entry way. There were also bones and other trash in the garbage disposal as well as bugs on some of the beds.

I brought a group of kids down for a week of Outdoor School. We had a great week and the house was perfect for our needs. Loved the big open space on the main floor and the close beach access. Several of the sinks were plugged up and a wall heater would not turn off. I left a message for the rental place, but never got a phone call back. Overall, I was very please. We would stay here again!

Needs some updates but overall it was a great place to hold our Family Gathering. Lots of beds! :)

We have rented the same property twice and it is perfect for 3-4 families. We have so much memories made in the house that we will cherish for long days to come. Amazing kitchen and dining areas which accommodates multiple cooks in the kitchen. We had an amazing family reunion 2 years in a row in the same place. Easy and close access to beach is an added bonus to get a good walk on the beach after a heavy meal. We were lucky to have beautiful weather during November time to enjoy the beach. We are very tempted to continue the tradition of family reunion every thanksgiving in the same house. May be we will be back again next year. Thank you!

Love the beach access, big open living space with the kitchen.

This property is very out of date. The main floor has a lovely meeting space, but the couches with slip covers are off putting, cold floors, and the decks are so aged they appear unsafe. No Wifi. The stairs to the top floor are slick need carpeting and handrails on both sides. The linens are ancient as are the beds. We would come back because of the space, but only in the winter and only with our own bedding and linens.
Manager response:
We appreciate receiving this feedback and will work with the owner on making upgrades.

We had planned a long weekend with the family to explore the Pacific Coast. Love the large common area. This is a great location and property for family gatherings.
The two bedrooms with bunk beds were perfect for the two families’s to share.
Have a laundry available is a plus. No internet access.
The property is located in a gated community, to the beach was not over crowded.
Pacific City is a great little town. It is a great location with easy access to attractions and other larger cities. We had a small medical emergency during our stay and ended up at the emergency room at Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital - 30 minute drive. The staff at this hospital was great. The care was excellent.

It was a great location steps away from the beach. The house cleanliness upon arrival was not great, but we trolled with it. We were super happy it could accommodate so many people and the main kitchen space is great for entertaining. The TV needs updated. :-)

The house was large and comfortable. The upstairs bedroom suites were the nicest I have ever stayed in. There was plenty of room for everyone to relax, plenty of sleeping space and a wonderful kitchen. Just a few blocks from the beach in a nice quiet gated community. This house rental was worth every penny of what we paid. I have already planned to return for another trip. I would highly recommend it to anyone interested in a quiet beach getaway with room for everyone!
Amber J. Mar 2016
The house was a lot older than what the pictures showed. I was happy with the space. I felt it could have been cleaner for the cost.

Over all a nice property with a large living space which suited our 11 person retreat. The one huge problem was a knob on the oven did not work (a handwritten note was left on the counter saying so) - we tried it to see what the dysfunction was and discovered that we could not turn the oven off again. After 10 minutes of creative twisting and turning we finally got it to the burner should turn off but were afraid to try to use it again for safety reasons. As a result we were unable to prepare the dinner that was one of the main events of our retreat for which we had brought all the fixings but we were unable to use the oven.
It seems unsafe and careless as well as inconsiderate to not have the oven knob repaired prior to a group coming for two nights at a cost of $650.
Manager response:
We apologize that the oven was out for your stay and that it frustrated some of your plans. The Property Manager is working with the owner on repairs for the oven.

While a nice big house. General maintenance is not being done. House is in pretty rough shape. Lots of beds and great for big groups. The lack of cleaning and the old TV and no wireless were drawbacks. Location is great and the house is big. Overall good stay for the price.
Amber G. Jan 2016
We loved the house!!

Our group fit perfectly. The only draw back was not having wifi.
Mark M. Jan 2016
The house is great for a family or close group of friends! It is very open and to us young people who stayed there, very fancy and fun. Gated community! We all loved it :)
Parvathi T. Dec 2015
We would recommend anyone and everyone this place. Very beautiful property, perfect for family reunion. Kids friendly and perfect in every aspect. Thank you for the wonderful experience. We would recommend only the TV to be replaced with a newer model to plug in kids video games and stuff.
Suzanne W. Nov 2015
Great location and love the great room in the house.
Greg E. Aug 2015
Visit from 8/2 to 8/6. Two families - 4 adults and 5 kids. Home was great. Had the character you expect from a beach house. Close to beach and access. We really enjoyed the home and will return again. Vacasa experience was great. Everything worked as planned.
Josh R. Jun 2015
Great house with lots of space. Two huge suites upstairs and a slew of bunks below. The middle floor with huge kitchen and living room was great for the whole crew. Fantastic location.
Linda C. Feb 2015
Although the interior is quirky and a bit tacky, overall we all thought it was worth it!
Ellen S. Dec 2014
We stayed here with 11 women from our church. There was plenty of places to sleep with the bunkbeds and two bedrooms upstairs. The great room was a wonderful gathering place to spend time together, and the fireplace made it cozy. The bathrooms upstairs are incredibly elegant and larger than the bedroom areas next to them. The rest of the furnishings are clean and comfortable, but nothing fancy. The house is only a short walk to the beach. We were expecting a view of the water, but this house doesn't have one. Yet we still had a wonderful time and were very comfortable! We would recommend this place!
Kristy D. Aug 2014
House was big and plenty of room Had plenty of towel and al paper goods would take this house again would be nice if there was a tv down stairs for the kids otherwise love it . Kids and grand kids loved it
Arlene B. Jul 2014
The best feature of this property is the big kitchen. Two sinks, two refrigerators, two dishwashers, twelve bar stools at the counter and two tables to seat 8. It is great for a large group to be able to cook and eat together. It is also a well stocked kitchen with dishes and utensils and pans. Easy to cook there. The location is also great. Just a few steps to the beach. Fun for kids.
Manager response:
Thank you for this review. Its great to hear you enjoyed the spaciousness of this beautiful home. We hope to see you again soon!
Chris H. May 2014
This is a nice and spacious house with a very short walk to the beach. It accommodated 11 people easily with lots of beds and elbow room. Some of the finish work was beautiful and some incomplete, but all was quite functional. Great common area for cooking and relaxing. Two luxury suites upstairs, which left the third couple in the unluxurious basement. Limited tech, which we didn't really miss.
Manager response:
We are pleased that your group of 11 were comfortable in this unique home.
Susan L. Apr 2014
It was everything we wanted and needed. We loved the dormitory feel of the lower level. Certainly a plus with many children. Everyone loved the jet tubs. Could have used a little more pantry space for food we brought in but overall, we loved the kitchen. The views from the balconies were spectacular.
Sally C. Aug 2013
Huge house--so many windows & skylights. close to beach & fun tidepools at Cape Kiwanda. So much room & great downstairs 2 big bedrooms with queen beds & bunk beds for big families. Amazing suites upstairs with spa bathrooms! Be sure to inventory what is provided for your stay. If you are short of anything(soap, dishwasher soap, toilet paper, paper towels) call Vacasa Rentals right away to get what you need. They will provide the items--it just may take awhile. This home was so perfect for our family & extended family & we had a GREAT time.
Sprout H. Jul 2013
Great place for a large family getaway. Nothing fancy so we did not have to worry about the kids breaking anything of value and it was easy to sweep the tile floors of all the sand that they dragged in.. Loved the large kitchen with two sinks and lots of counter space. Probably our biggest complaint was the size of the downstairs bath for the number of beds/rooms down there. Well-stocked with paper products, soap, laundry products etc.
John C. Jul 2013
No ocean view from the house.
Arlene B. Jun 2013
This house is a great retreat for a large family. We stayed at the house in June with our children and grand children for a long weekend. Hit some 70 degree sunny days. The house is a short block to the beach. The kitchen is great for cooking with double appliances, 12 bar stools and two tables and chairs. Easy to care for tile floors. We had a great family time there and would go again.
Lori N. Nov 2012
We enjoyed our stay!! Plenty of room to accommodate a large family!!
Alex E. Sep 2012
The house was giant and accommodating .. I will recommend it to friends and family
