Dog-friendly, modern rustic house w/ bay view, easy beach access

Take a break at this lovely, dog-friendly beach house in Gearhart, OR! With a peek-a-boo bay view and easy access to a serene stretch of sand, the whole family will have a memorable time here.

Located at the south end of Gearhart, you'll enjoy the quiet neighborhood and a short walk to the beach, as well as a short drive down to Seaside for plenty more activities.

This house has a classic and rustic feel with a touch of beach flair that will make you comfortable right away.

Enter the great space of the open living, dining room, and kitchen with wood floors, vaulted ceilings, and abundant natural light. Grab a seat on the colorful sectional and get warm in front of the fire in the stone hearth while you watch a DVD on the flatscreen cable TV with all the kids. There are two large window seats that offer a great view of the estuary, and are perfect for curling up with a book from the shelf.

The dining table under the rustic chandelier has seating for eight, with two stools nearby at the kitchen counter. Enjoy a family meal together or bust out the board games from the closet for an old-fashioned game night!

The kitchen has full, updated amenities that make cooking anything possible, and there is plenty of counterspace for appetizers while you cook. A dishwasher even makes clean-up stress-free.

Three bedrooms and two and a half baths make this house suitable for up to six. Downstairs you'll find a room with a queen bed, TV, and access to the outdoor patio. There's a full bath with a tub/shower combo across the hall. A second bedroom down the hall is great for kids - with a twin bunk bed, and two separate twin beds (four total), as well as an attached nook with a double futon and a sliding glass door for access outside.

Upstairs you'll find the master bedroom with a queen bed, an armchair for lounging, a full private bath with dual sinks and standalone shower, and access to a balcony.

There is a laundry room with washer/dryer, and WiFi is provided for your convenience. The fenced-in backyard is spacious - great for your dog if you choose to bring one, though be sure to keep an eye on him or tie up for extra precaution (please note the 40-pound weight limit and a small nightly fee). You'll also enjoy a deck, a charcoal grill for barbecuing, and an outdoor firepit for roasting s'mores and enjoying quiet nights.

This house is perfect for a retreat or a large family - walk a block and a half to the beach, where you can build sandcastles, fly kites, comb for seashells, or surf if you're feeling ambitious. Walk to the south end of the beach for a picturesque view at Cockcroft Sanddollar Point, and bring the beach chairs to wait for the sun to set into the calming waters of the Pacific.

Half a mile north from the house is Gearhart Golf Links, where you can play a full round of 18 holes with stunning views of the nearby coastal mountains. Enjoy a coffee and pastry at Pacific Way Bakery and Café, or head less than a mile south along Highway 101 for more options in Seaside.

Along Broadway Street in Seaside you'll find a wide selection of cafés and eateries, and plenty more entertainment, including an arcade, carousel, fun shops, mini-golf, and amusement rides. Walk along the waterfront to find the Seaside Aquarium to learn about the local marine life and even feed the seals!

Light and bright, reverse plan with living spaces upstairs. Clean and functional...very little to not love about it. Kitchen nonstick pans unusable and desperately need replacement. One of our party had to bring our own. That's the only thing keeping me from giving 5 stars. Also, master BR could use a new mattress (good but a bit soft), and while you're at it, make it a king.
;) Kitchen well stocked, bathrooms nice and clean.

The set up for this house is perfect in terms of sleeping, eating, and just hanging out. It was only a block to the beach and the same to the bay. You could sit in the window seat, enjoy the morning sun, and look at the bay off in the distance. The upstairs common area is spacious, the kitchen is well equipped, and the books on the bookshelf were a step up from the usual trash novels you find at many places. We will definitely come back to this same house the next time we choose to stay in Gearhart.

Plenty of space, plenty of bathrooms, great location.

We visited the coast for a wedding on Cannon Beach and stayed at the Beachcomber Retreach because of proximity. We had 4 adults and 3 children. The home was plenty big for all of us and it could have easily slept more. It was well equipped in the kitchen and felt very cozy-lots of spare blankets all over for chilly nights. We would definitely visit again!

The location and the town
The house was great for our group but we were unaware of the huge construction project next door in the backyard - that was no revealed at time of booking. I called when we checked in and asked for a call from the local Vacasa office but no one ever returned my call.
There should be bikes and a wagon for beach as part of the rental .
Otherwise the house wasf fine.

Stop browsing and book it! This was a wonderful home!

It would be alright if you had a house full of kids. However, we did not and the third couple got stuck sleeping in the kid's playpen (with pet stains ).
Manager response:
To provide clarification to the guest's comment, the home provides two queen beds and four twin beds. Therefore, a 3rd couple would sleep separately. Thank you.

Great house for large family or group. The dining table seats 8 (room for a few more on corners.) Plenty of extra bedding, towels and dishes. Only drawback was the walk to the beach. It's not 1.5 blocks to the beach, but rather 1.5 blocks to the access trail, through the meadow, to get to the beach. A good 10-minute walk (up and downhill) to beach. Would be difficult with a stroller or wheelchair/cane walkers. Bonus was that we basically had the beach to ourselves when we got there. Also, handy to have a charcoal grill and firepit in back, but no firewood so we had to buy. Also no kayak in garage (as advertised.) There was a pack-n-play available in laundry room. But again, a long hike through a meadow/sandy trail for a stroller. Better with a jog-stroller. House in good shape, but tv missing from Master. There is a TV/DVD in living room. Also Wifi was good.

Beachcomber's Retreat is right by the beach, minutes away from Seaside and Cannon Beach. The backyard was awesome with a fire pit and bonfire. Inside was extremely spacious and clean. The neighborhood was very quiet and pleasant. If I'm staying in the coast I'd very likely look for this house again.

Easy walk to the beach from this location. Great walkable beach. We enjoyed both the balcony and the backyard.

This property is fantastic for groups to enjoy a weekend down at the beach. It's close enough to the sights to be convenient, yet far enough out of the tourist areas to be hidden away in your own world.

My group was impressed with the cleanliness of the property, as well as the sleeping accommodations. There were 2 king size beds, four twin beds, and a futon. We didn't cook anything, but the kitchen is fully functional and large enough to cook for a group.

The outside seating area is nice. Perhaps it could use a little bit of updating, but it's perfectly sufficient for any of your needs. There is a charcoal BBQ available if you would like to use it.

The best feature (besides the interior) is its proximity to the beach. If you head toward the beach, you'll walk about a block before you reach the beach trail. It's about a leisurely 5-minute walk through the dunes.

Overall, we were extremely satisfied with our experience, and this might turn into our annual beach getaway.

The open space and lots of seating is good for a big group to hang out. Yard is beautiful and fenced in so good for dogs

Great clean and room to spread out. Nice quiet location a block from the beach.

We highly recommend this beautiful beach home.

The layout, furnishings and yard all help any group or family to have a fun, comfortable stay.

We had so much fun curling up by the fireplace on the huge sectional and watching movies. We made delicious meals in the well appointed kitchen. Our little dog loved the enclosed yard to play with us. The beds are comfortable, the entire home was so clean and orderly. We loved the beachy lodge theme throughout.

Great place to stay and we hope to come back.

A peaceful 2 block walk from the beach where you can enjoy the beautiful scenery and a lot less people than SeaSide's main beach. The house was in Excellent shape. Having separate heating controls is a plus for family with varying opinions on hot and cold.

Great natural light, large great room, location is great.

Very nice, large home in quiet neighborhood just off the beach. You don't even hear a car when staying at this property. Home has everything you could possibly need. Library of books, games, view of inlet, fenced yard for pets and even a small fire pit on patio. We really enjoy this staying at this property and you will too.
Allison C. Jan 2017
Large, immaculate home that's close to everything. Extremely quiet location. We didn't hear a neighbor or another car during our 3 days there. Home has EVERYTHING you could ever need. Kitchen is stocked with everything you could possibly need from a blender, pots, utensils, platters, down to huge library of books. 3 vacuums, fan, plenty of linens. Fenced yard and garage are also perks. Gearhart beach is beautiful. If you enjoy walking the beach in search of sand dollars and beach driftwood, this house is for you. Every evening we enjoyed seeing the local elk herd at the front of the neighborhood. Awesome property

The house is clearly lovingly maintained - we felt like we were staying in a good friend's house rather than "just a rental". The linens were immaculate - they looked brand new - and the pillows were excellent. I loved having separate thermostats in each room, I loved the location so close to two beaches, I loved being close to "downtown", it was easy to reach from the highway, and Vacasa made the whole experience seamless and super convenient. I hope to bring more family members next year and stay again! Thank you for opening your home to strangers.

We've been vacationing in Gearhart for 30 plus years. Different rentals at different times. This one ranks as one of our favorites. Fenced in yard for dog, close to beach, and a great property size.

Clean. Comfortable. Convenient.

Great upstairs hang out room with a HUGE coach, long dinning table - both right off the kitchen!! It was SUPER clean. I would absolutely recommend. It's not fancy. It doesn't have a view. But it more than got the job done!!

Great location but bring your own bed!
Kate H. Sep 2016
The home was perfect for the 5 of us. The beds were all comfortable and the living areas were cozy and nicely furnished. We had so much fun waking up every morning with an easy walk to the beach and the Pacific Way Bakery. We loved being able to bring our dog along for daily romps on the beach. I can't think of a thing we would change about this property. A beautiful, comfortable beach home.
Paulette Z. Sep 2016
Had a wonderful stay. Home had everything we needed plus some!

Beautiful, quiet beach just a short walk away. Master bed needs to be replaced but everything else in home was great! Nice, big great room for family gathering.
Jeffrey F. Jun 2016
Great house for family or two families with kids. Will be back again.
Joel M. Jun 2016
This house is a great place for families. There are lots of beds for kids and multiple families. The location is good for walking to the beach. The layout is good for games, dinners, etc. I would highly recommend this house and will stay here again if it is available.
Randolph B. May 2016
This was a great place for our Memorial Day long weekend!
Plenty of room to stretch out in the open living, dining and kitchen.
Great space for kids with 5 beds in a big room with alcove, and queen room next door. The Master is really great, huge room with big windows and a powerful shower! Nothing like really hot water and good shower in a rental!
The kitchen was really well equipped, and loved the empty pantry! I hate showing up with groceries and no place to put them!
Lots of great touches: Sand toys for kids, fire pit for back yard. Nice lawn- croquet set!
All in all a great rental!
