Quaint, dog-friendly cabin w/ screened-in deck, private hot tub, & firepit
With room for up to five guests, this charming and dog-friendly Sautee Nacoochee cabin in the woods includes a full-size pool table, wood-burning fireplace, screened-in, covered deck with hot tub, and firepit.
Located just 30 miles south of the North Carolina border and 30 miles west of the South Carolina border, this two-bedroom home is tucked away in a secluded section of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. The quaint Bavarian alpine town of Helen, where you can window shop and dine in some of the area's best restaurants, is just four miles away. And for those eager to explore the surrounding forests, there are numerous trailheads throughout the area for both hiking and biking.
Warm, welcoming, and very inviting, this home sports rich, glowing wooden floors, and walls, but still offers plenty of 21st century conveniences throughout.
The front door opens to a great room shared by a kitchen, dining area, and living space. The living area has luxurious leather furniture and a seasonal, wood-burning fireplace. Adjacent, there's a full-size pool table and a tall high top table with two stools for drinks, socializing, or a place to sit and chalk up your pool cue for your next turn.
Alongside the pool table, there's a full, well-equipped kitchen with a whole host of accessories, utensils, and appliances including a refrigerator, stove, microwave oven, coffeemaker, and a dishwasher to help you keep things tidy during your stay. And with the gas grill (and additional charcoal grill) out back, you can easily prepare a variety of barbecued delights and enjoy them at the kitchen table for four.
Also right outside, there's a screened-in, covered back deck with a table and four chairs plus a hot tub, ideal for soaking your trail-weary muscles to the soothing sounds of the surrounding forest.
Both bedrooms are conveniently located right off the great room. The master suite has a king, four-poster log bed and a full bathroom with tub and shower, while the second bedroom has a queen log bed and a full bath. There is also an additional twin rollaway bed available allowing you to comfortably accommodate up to five lucky guests. Note that your well-behaved dog (up to three are allowed) is welcome to join you during your stay for a daily fee.
A recently added private washer/dryer will help you stay on top of your laundry, so feel free to bring the smaller suitcases this time around. For additional home entertainment options, WiFi is provided to let you share pics and videos with friends and family online, and there are three TVs with DVD players and Netflix streaming including a large, 47-inch flatscreen TV in the living room. And with the firepit out back, remember to pack some marshmallows!
Climb aboard a raft or settle in a tube and take a trip down the Chattahoochee River that winds right through Helen. Or consider racing across the treetops from a zipline (a few of which offer breathtaking views right over the river). You can take a short two mile trip west to Unicoi Lake with its 12 miles of nature and hiking trails, plus fishing, swimming, canoe rentals, and lakeside picnic facilities.
If you're craving an escape to the forests and mountains of Georgia, where the only sounds you'll hear outside your home will be birdsong and the wind in the trees, book this delightful cabin today and start planning for that next Appalachian getaway.

Wonderful place to stay!!!
Loved the place and location we were up here for the Unicoi Call Makers Show and it was in very good location
We loved our stay in Lazy Acres, from the easy check in and instructions to the location and convenience of every little thing that we needed. It was rainy all days that we were in the cabin; yet it's so well located that you could go around and find leisure in Helen within a relatively short drive. The billiards' table, the jacuzzi, the cozy couches and the Netflix subscription made it all perfect. Loved the decorations, the bedrooms' tvs and having the washer and dryer available was a super add on. We will definitely be back!
I enjoyed this lovely home , the rooms were spacious , the bathrooms wre clean . When you walk outside you have the Jacuzzi and grill and table set and fire pit . Of course we made smores . One night we went to the shopping center they had. This is the perfect place to relax.
This is a nice secluded cabin that is very clean and well maintained.
Great stay! My sons loved the experience. We will return soon!
Enjoyed our stay nice secluded cabin well equipped
We stayed at Lazy Acres cabin 11/16-18, 2018. We found it to be comfortably furnished and charmingly decorated with rustic decor. The heating system worked great (it was pretty cold there at night!), and the appliances all functioned properly. We enjoyed sitting on the porches listening to the birds and the wind in the trees.
There were two things that we found to be troublesome. Where the driveway led to the road there was a sharp dip that caused our car to scrape the pavement. A vehicle with a lower clearance would have a very hard time going in and out. Also, the house numbers on the post by the driveway were hard to make out in the daylight - it would have been impossible to see them at night.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Lazy Acres and would recommend it to our friends.
The cabin is nice & the location is quiet.
Lazy Acres Cabin was just the right size for our family (3 plus our dog) to enjoy a vacation that turned into an evacuation from Hurricane Michael. We were so happy to be in a safe place that was also comfortable and provided everything we needed while we waited out the storm. The location is just close enough to Helen to easily go into town for the day, but far enough to not be in the middle of the Oktoberfest activities.
Location good and ample parking. Had a miserable time because sofa and loveseat are horrible. We watched football together but sitting on kitchen chairs then spent time apart in our bed rooms to sit on bed to watch the Sunday games. Won't ever stay in Lazy Acres again. It's impossible to be "lazy" when you can't get comfortable on the furniture. We've stayed in cabins in Helen at least twice a year for the last 12 years and have never experienced such discomfort. I was actually ready to leave before Monday morning.
We are sorry to see these guests were so uncomfortable. We have not had other complaints about these furnishings, but we will keep our ears open.
couples weekend. great place to stay, very relaxing. not far into town of helen ga
Loved the cabin just right size for 4 people.
The cabin is very dark inside even with all lights on the cabin isn't as bright as it is in the picture. Other than that the cabin was in a great location and very cozy! Very easy getting into our cabin and we had an amazing time in the secluded cabin. Thanks!
This cozy cabin provides a relaxing retreat with the convenience of local attractions. Neat and clean.
several big reasons we will not stay there again, steep driveway ,mattress needs replaced easily felt springs
We apologize if the steep driveway was difficult for our guest. This is the nature of most our driveways in the area due to being in the mountains. The owners were just staying in the cabin and felt the mattress was comfortable, so we will not be replacing it at this time. Thank you!
Very quite and on the main road.
Took a long weekend off work to visit Helen. We only left the cabin once to go tubing. We just sat in the hot tub and roasted hot dogs at the fire pit. We will go back and tour the town of Helen soon. We enjoyed our stay very much.
The cabin was very charming and exactly as the pictures show. Very quiet and private.
The cabin is as nice in person as the pictures look. Check in was easy. The cabin is close to Helen GA but far enough away to get some tranquility. Highly recommend a stay there!!!
I loved how nice and clean the cabin was. Nice location wasn't hard to get up and down. Just the right space.
I liked the location. The cabin is a great base to explore the area.
We loved the location, great amenities, nice & cozy. Pet friendly is awesome. Close to atractions, the Helen Main Street stores, gas stations, grocery store and restaurants; as well as national parks and other local historic landmarks.
The cottage was exactly like the pictures. The only thing that is hard to tell is how close everything in house was but for the group, it made it quaint. The rooms are spacious! The king size bed was comfortable. Did not sleep in the other bedroom but guest with me stated that it was comfortable. The pool table is just as other reviews stated, but this was not the focus of the trip. We played on it for about 30 minutes total since there was much more to do. The jacuzzi was amazing. The temperature was just right, the jets were perfectly strong; makes me want to get one for myself! The fire pit was perfect. You could see the roof of the neighbors. If they were really loud you could hear them; for the most part, it felt like you were in a world away from everything. Helen is a short 10-15 minute drive with much to do in the area. Finding the driveway was a bit strange but once I knew where the turn was . . .too easy to get back there. I would hands-down, absolutely rent this cabin again. If there are others that are this pleasant, I have found a new way to enjoy vacations.
Our family of three loved this cabin! It was very comfortable and clean! The owners have decorated it very nicely! The hot tub was great! We'd love to stay here again!!
The cabin was clean and inviting, great location, tons to do. Will definitely come back again for our anniversary!
Nice Cozy Cabin for a weekend getaway.
We enjoyed staying there it was nice and quiet good location
We loved the cabin. It was great for two people, but could sleep two couples comfortably. The location was excellent! It was about a 6 mile drive in to Helen. So just far enough away, but close enough to enjoy what Helen has to offer. We will definitely come back and will bring another couple to enjoy the fun!
Adorable cabin. Great hot tub. Pool table needs to be replaced asap, did not meet expectations, unfortunately. Beautiful location. Very private. 10 mins from Helen, GA.
We would stay here again. The cabin was nice and guiet
Fantastic place to stay other than the pool table
My wife and I have stayed in a cabin for several years and always had a great experience. This is our first time renting with Vacasa, and the experience was great! We will definitely recomend them to our friends!
clean, comfortable, homey
Cabin was clean other than film on glasses. There definitely needs to be more silverware in the home. Think if the rentals were checked regularly by a good Property Manager they would notice this. Our entire experience would have been different I feel had Vacasa had a property manager for say 5-6 properties. I was told by the PM she had 40. That's way too many for one person and maybe that's why we weren't helped as much.
I enjoy going to the mountains but won't be renting from Vacasa or at least not the one in Helen, GA.
Excellent place to get away and enjoy family!
Our family loved this place and we will def be back!
This place is perfect for a small group of friends, 2 couples, or a family. Everything about the location is nice not to far from helen, winery's, great hiking, and food. I would highly recommend this cabin! We had one small problem and they were quick to help and fix it!
This cabin was just what I was looking for - quiet - in the middle of the woods - no other cabins in sight - yet easy to get to. We would definitely use it again.
** Please send me info on 3/4/5 bedroom cabins in the area for future use with our family.
It was a perfect place to get to Helen from. I'm not a big fan of the big screen TV...takes away from the rustic retreat atmosphere, and yes, the pool table surface is wonky, making the game less enjoyable. Everything inside was clean and modern, except the can opener. Loved the hot tub and screened in porch. No opportunity to take walks around the place, but Unicoi State Park is so handy, it wasn't a big deal
Mailbox was broken so we passed the house and had to rely on GPS.
When we arrived to the home and unloaded everything into the house, electricity went out. It was thunder storming that day. Due to poor cell service, we were unable to contact the staff. Power was out for 1-2 hours.
Overall, this place is good enough. The décor of this place was filled with coca cola, roosters, bears, and fishing theme. A bit busy but it was cute and gave this cabin some character. The Jacuzzi was the highlight of this cabin including the enclosed sun room. We really appreciate that this place is pet friendly. The washer and dryer was a plus.
This cabin had some privacy and no mountain view, but location was good. Cabin is 10 minutes away from Helen and near national parks.
-Bathroom has urine stain smell
-Kitchenware were dirty and needed to wash everything before use.
-Dishwasher is moldy
-Pool table is uneven, couldn't play.
-Have to take out trash and bring to dumpster at the rental office
-Bed is old; you can feel the springs.
-Bathroom essentials provided
-Space is enough for 4-6 people
-Jacuzzi is nice
-Enclosed sunroom (help prevent bugs!)
-10 minutes away from Helen
-WIFI connection is great
- Near national parks
-Sofas were comfy
-Washer & dryer
We are sorry to see there were any cons with this stay. The house has been thoroughly cleaned so all cleaning issues are taken care of, and the pool table has been checked. Thanks!
We've been coming to Helen for 13 yrs and are never disappointed. Great town. Lovely cabin with great amenities.
We loved the place, quiet and secluded. Very comfortable and the hot tub is a must !!
Let me start with the couple good things. The cabin looked just like it did in the photos and it was nice and clean upon arrival. Besides that I had so many complaints. Location was not good. There was no where to walk around outside and we could see cars from the front door. Also, the iron was shoddy and the dishwasher looked old and rusted. However, the biggest let down by far was the fact that we couldn't play pool our entire stay. The table was on an uneven surface so the balls would not stay put. Very disappointing indeed!!!
We apologize for any disappointments this guest experienced during their reservation. There are wooded areas around the cabin that guests are welcome to walk in, and there are trails within five miles of the cabin at Unicoi State Park. We have replaced the iron, and we have found the dishwasher to be in good condition without any signs of rust inside or out. The Property Manager checked the pool table with a level and found it to be level as well as the floors. Thank you!
We enjoyed our stay and the location of this cabin, however, we were very disappointed with the pool table being warped. That was one of our deciding factors on choosing which cabin to stay in as well as the hot tub. Please fix the table or replace it if you are going to advertise the fact that you have this feature. Also, the pool cues are warped. It was a letdown to us considering when we first arrived and got unpacked, the first thing we wanted to do was play pool. For the cost of the stay, all features should be well maintained
We are sorry to see this guest was so disappointed by the pool table. It is supplied for fun and is not of the caliber serious pool players would need. The pool cues are regularly inspected and replaced when necessary.
Loved the welcoming, warm feeling upon entering Lazy Acres! It is a warm and cozy cabin, perfect for a two couple weekend or a small family getaway. We enjoyed the solitude and quiet in our little slice of paradise. If we visit the area again you can be sure this cabin will be on the top of our list.
The cabin had a very cozy feeling. It was very clean and had everything we could have possibly needed. This is the perfect spot for a romantic weekend!!
Great cabin and fully equipt. Warm cozy and as advertised. Very pleased
Perfect cabin for a family getaway.
Very relaxing and cozy! Especially enjoyed the hot tub!
We stayed here for our honeymoon. It is a cute 2-bedroom house. It was exactly what we were looking for. It was a beautiful drive to the house, and the hot tub was wonderful. We would definitely stay here again.
Great location to town and surrounding forests! Great privacy!
Lovely area. Fantastic getaway location. Super cabin !! Will definitely be back!!
Cozy, private cabin! Great experience! :)
My wife and I have stayed in the Helen area every year during Oktoberfest and this year we needed a larger cabin since we had our two daughters and son-in-law along. I guess we should have spent a few extra dollars and stayed at our normal place. Lesson learned.
We were looking for comfort, relaxation and beautiful scenery.......we were not disappointed. Lazy Acres cabin is adorable and very well maintained. We will definitely be back!!
