Sautee Nacoochee's international gourd museum, The Gourd Place, is a wonderful free exhibition that offers great insight into Northeast Georgia's history and the history of many other countries. Currently, the museum features a permanent exhibition of 200 gourds from more than 20 countries! This fun attraction offers not only a history lesson but also a creative atmosphere that is sure to leave a lasting impression.

The Nacoochee Indian Mound is definitely a site that history lovers will want to visit. Situated along the Chattahoochee River, this historic site was first occupied around 100-500 CE. Later, but as far back as the fourteenth century, South Appalachian Mississippians constructed the mound, characteristic of their culture.
