Step inside this quaint country cottage to find an open layout, hardwood floors, and charming homestyle decor. Return home from a day of hiking or kayaking to warm your feet by the wood stove, relax in the rocking chair with a good book, or play a board game with your kids on the plush L-shaped sofa.

Spend the colorful days of autumn playing tag with your kids on the grass or fishing for bass and perch on the shores of Seal Cove Pond. You'll also have a flatscreen cable TV, Blu-ray and DVD players, a stereo system, and a collection of movies for fun-filled evenings at home.
With two bedrooms and one full bathroom, the Lucky Stone Cottage can accommodate as many as six guests. The blue master bedroom offers a queen-size bed, as well as a futon that provides ample space for a child. The second bedroom has a twin-over-full bunkbed, while the living room features a sofabed. The family dog is also welcome to join you for an additional nightly fee.
Whether you spend your days hiking, fishing, or whale-watching, you'll find a washer/dryer in the bathroom to help refresh your wardrobe. WiFi is also provided to help you post photos of your family adventures.
Thanks to its scenic location on the western shores of Mt. Desert Island, Seal Cove is a wonderful place of both serenity and convenience. You'll be just a short drive from the most iconic trails and landscapes in Acadia, including the Cadillac Mountain South Ridge Trail (19 miles east), the vertical ascent of the Precipice Trail (21 miles east), and the Ocean Path Trailhead at Sand Beach (23 miles east).
Stop by Cafe This Way in Bar Harbor for a delicious homemade breakfast or make an afternoon pit-stop at the Jordan Pond House for lobster stew and a plate of popovers. Just be sure to visit the Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse at sunset for one of the loveliest views on the entire island.

We just got back from a 3 day trip as a part of April vacation. It was the best home/apartment rental I've done and my kids much preferred it to a hotel. We made some great memories at Acadia and this home was a great respite at the end of the day.
Val R.Apr 2021
The house was exactly what we needed for our short stay. It had all of the amenities and was dog friendly. Thank you!
The Buchards .Sep 2020
A great place to stay! Very doggie friendly, which makes it wonderful for us. Well-equipped kitchen--down to the lobster meal needs, and lots to do if rainy days or cold nights should keep you housebound.
One more lamp with a bright bulb for reading would make it just about perfect!
Vacasa response: Thank you for your suggestion!
Amber D.Aug 2020
The house was cute and clean, very quiet area. For us it was a little too quiet- there isn't anything within walking distance and the road is pretty busy so we didn't feel comfortable exploring on foot with kids. Southwest Harbor is about 15 min by car, Acadia about 25. Acadia is amazing- had the best time hiking and seeing the sights. Bar Harbor is fun and full of great restaurants (crowded though and masks are a must). All in all a great getaway.
Karen T.Jul 2020
We were very happy with our stay at Lucky Stone Cottage. The home was clean and had everything we needed. Thanks for sharing your home with us.
Claudette .Sep 2019
Many thanks for sharing your lovely cottage! I really enjoyed my stay here. This was my first time using AirBnB and I will recommend your cottage to anyone looking for a nice, homey place to stay. Thank you so much for being dog-friendly.
Gill S.Aug 2019
Affordable and near Acadia Park. The house was very nice and had games for the kids to play with. Kitchen had everything needed to cook and eat. Felt like home.
Laurie D.Aug 2019
Loved all the extras there: games, toys for kids, a full kitchen (many places say they are, but aren’t), and plenty of paper towels, toilet paper, shampoo, dish soap, etc.
Shyloski family .Aug 2019
This was a wonderful home-away-from-home for our families. Mount Desert Island and Acadia have so much meaning for us and we were so happy to share with our children.
Your house was perfect! The boys loved all the toys. We appreciated your well supplied kitchen, amazing organization, and helpful notes.
Thank you for sharing your home--we hope to be back in the future. Cheers!
The Gill family .Aug 2019
This was the first vacation we have taken as a family of three generations. The house was so clean and cozy and my 18 month old loved finding toys to play with.
This town is amazing. We even got to see seals and fish on our boat excursions.
Thank you for everything.
Mike and friends .Aug 2019
Thank you for letting us stay in your home. We are a punk band called "Peeled Mike and the Crucifinas." We needed some time to relax and write our new album. Look for some of our songs on soundcloud--DebDub, Lady Lobsters, Click Clacking, Gilmore Peak, Acadia Fire and Sunset Tour, all inspired by our trip.
Hodgdon Seafood right down the street really emphasizes the phrase cold climate--cold people. Extremely unwelcoming and their food matched. We got our food to go because we felt unwanted.
The Good Luck Cottage might wanna invest in lobster crackers because we had to McGyver our way into our seafood dinner.
Acadia the park was amazing. We did 8 peaks in three days (Cadillac by car).
Gaylens was the best food we had.
Good Luck Cottage lived up to its name because I found $20 by the lighthouse. The luck ran out when our dog got skunked on the last night.
Over all the trip was great. Would come back again!
P.S. We saw three bald eagles.
Vacasa response: Thank you for the feedback! The lobster crackers are accessible with other kitchen utensils.

We had a wonderful visit to Acadia! A very beautiful home!
A family .Aug 2019
Amazing place, felt homey, comfy, relaxing. Would highly recommend this quaint cottage to anyone. Sincere thank you.

Everything of such a special beauty here! And your place is well equipped.
Brittney and Katie .Jul 2019
Thank you for sharing your home. We had a lovely time here. We enjoyed paddleboarding and kayaking at Long Pond, rock climbing with Acadia mountain guides at Otter Cliffs and various hikes to amazing summit views.
Mallory and friends D.Jul 2019
Our stay was amazing. This house is perfect to enjoy the park by its location and comfortable for the three of us. Thank you very much for sharing your lovely cottage with us.
The Cornells .Jul 2019
Our stay was far too short this time. But now that we have had a taste of Mount Desert Island, we are certain we will be back. Thank you for sharing your cottage with us. It was a wonderful place to call home while we were here.
Cyndy, Rob and family .Jul 2019
We had a big time hiking the Bee Hive, Bowl and the Beach Path from Sand Beach to Thunder Hole. Bar Harbor was great. Fireworks display and town was fun but this quieter side was our happy place. We enjoyed hiking around Bass Harbor light house and the nearby nature trails--Ship Harbor and Wonderland Trails. After wearing ourselves out it was nice to come back to Lucky Stone Cottage and relax with our grown up kids. Thanks for sharing your quiet and clean home with us.
K and E H.Jun 2019
We had a very good time here. Really liked the cottage and the quiet side of Bar Harbor.
Gup family .May 2019
We had a great visit. Enjoyed the stay a lot. Nicely kept cottage. Thank you.
Regina R.Nov 2018
We loved the comfortable feel of the home and it had all the amenities. We were impressed with the cleanliness of the cottage. Super Clean! The proximity of the trails to the cottage was an added bonus. We loved hiking the Acadia trails with our two dogs. It was peaceful and serene and a perfect vacation for everyone!
Hannah and Allison .Nov 2018
We had a majestic visit here at Acadia National Park. It was wicked awesome. 10/10 would stay here again.
Gina and Brian and the pups .Nov 2018
We had a fabulous week at Mount Desert Island. We made wonderful memories hiking the trails every day with our two dogs. We took lots of pictures, including the view from the summit of Bernard Mountain...breathtaking! We were tired after our day of hiking and the Lucky Stone Cottage was the perfect place to kick back and relax. Thank you for sharing your little piece of heaven with us. We really felt right at home!
Mike and Katie .Oct 2018
What a lovely beautiful place to stay so close to Acadia and so many fun adventures. Thank you for offering up your place on AirBnB. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Well worth our 17 hour drive up from North Carolina. We made great memories here and can't wait to come back. Thanks for giving us a warm, perfect roof over our heads.
Diana G.Oct 2018
The house was clean. It felt like home when we returned to it each day from our site seeing. The neighborhood was very quiet. The only complaint we had was that the towels smell like cigarette smoke when we dried off with them. Once we washed them, they were fine. This is a very nice place to stay, much better than staying at a hotel.
Diana and family .Oct 2018
Acadia National Park was beautiful this week and this was a nice quiet place to stay. Very clean and nicer than a hotel! Had a very nice stay and it was definitely worth the 10 hour trip! Hope everyone else who stays here enjoys their stay!
Aurore V.Oct 2018
Aurore and family .Oct 2018
Thank you so much. We had (the six of us) a wonderful time in your home. We did feel at home which we really appreciate as we were running the MDI marathon. Beautiful day, fabulous place, we loved it. Be sure we'll recommend your place and we'll be back hopefully one day to see a little bit more of this beautiful island.
Charlie and Sheri Y.Oct 2018
Charlie and I are having a wonderful vacation seeing the beautiful states of Maine and New Hampshire. The fall colors are amazing, bursts of bright yellows, orange and reds, even some burgundy! We have had the wonderful blessing of seeing two dozen if not more of our nation's treasures (national parks). Mostly out west. This is our first time going with something like a Homes To Go or an AirBnB. The prices are very reasonable but, as one gets older, they really appreciate very good pillows and mattresses (need some improvement there). That is extremely important when you travel, hike and sight see. We thank you for your assistance in giving us a clean cottage to spend a few nights in.
Sending you and your loved ones our prayers and thanks.
Thank you for your feedback. Good news! The pillows have all been updated.
Mary and Liz .Oct 2018
Acadia is truly amazing. The colors are breath taking. Hiked at Sand Beach, tea and popovers at Jordan Pond house. More hiking at Cadillac Mountain. Also explored Bar Harbor--not to be missed.
How wonderful to be able to come back to the Lucky Stone Cottage to enjoy a peaceful glass of wine and cooked meal. We have everything we needed. Can't wait to come back.
Kevin G.Oct 2018
Very clean from the kitchen to the sheets, all was in good working order
Fabienne and family .Oct 2018
We had a beautiful time here in this house. The house is very pretty and lovely. It's a house just like our own home. I stayed here with my dad, my mum, my uncle and my aunt. We made a road trip up from Boston over Portland, Salem, and now we stayed here!
On the whale watching tour in Bar Harbor we had seen big whales, it was very interesting. Being from Germany, it was very untypical. Two days are too short to stay here! But my autumn holidays are only two weeks. Love and hope to come back!
Suzanne G.Oct 2018
The cottage had everything we needed and was a great place to explore Mt Desert Island & Acadia from. The sunset at Seal Cove was perfect, and the night sky was amazing. We had a really lovely weekend.
Barbara and family J.Oct 2018
Delightful respite while enjoying hiking in Acadia.

A lovely peaceful few days away in Acadia--what a stunning place! The cottage had everything we needed, thank you.
Rogers and Collins families .Sep 2018
Acadia is a wonderful destination and it was great to stay on the quiet side away from all the crowds.
Martin M.Aug 2018
On the surface, it’s a great place; location, space, the kids loved it, and it’s peaceful. But upon looking closer, we noted it wasn’t as clean as we would have liked, it was damp (get a dehumidifier please - damp rid bags smell and aren’t effective) towels smelled of cigarette smoke, dirty linens in the closet, dirty dishes/wet plates in the cupboard etc. All the other reviews are so positive - I hope this was an anomaly - and I’m sorry we were the unlucky renters I suspect this sweet place is a bit neglected and needs some attention (the gutter above the front door is clogged with pube needles!) it’s the end of the season - who knows why.
We are sorry to see the rainy spell happening during this guest's visit made the home feel so damp and musty. We did do an extra clean for this guest while they were out for the day to address the housekeeping oversights, and we greatly appreciate our guest giving us the opportunity to do this. Thank you!
Helen and family S.Aug 2018
Thank you! We had a great time! We swam in a lake and the ocean, went to Bar Harbor, and saw seals!
Jamie and family B.Aug 2018
What a fabulous week we had! We had a wonderful time exploring Acadia National Park with our 2 year old. She especially enjoyed splashing around at Otter Point.
There were so many great places to eat--especially on the quiet side. And the house had everything we needed for the perfect Maine lobster feast.
We can't wait to come back to Lucky Stone Cottage!
Bonnee and Dennis .Aug 2018
We had a wonderful time staying at the Lucky Stone Cottage. The house had everything we needed and we loved staying on the quiet side of the island. We went to the Bass Harbor Light House and hiked at Wonderland. There are so many places to just pull off the road and explore. We went into Bar Harbor and walked to Bar Island (watch the tide tables) but don't forget about Southwest Harbor--a great seaside town, close to the house.
Can't wait to come back next year.
Greg G. P.Jul 2018
The rental home was well taken care of, clean and served as a perfect base for exploring the western side of Mount Desert Island. The location is about 30 minutes from Bar Harbor, but we discovered that many of the best hikes were around Southwest Harbor anyway. The home was well stocked for family use.
Franck M.Jul 2018
A warm and cosy family cottage a few miles from Acadia. Not to be missed.
Grzegorz M.Jul 2018
We found the house to be very clean. Kitchen was very well provided with utensils, pans, etc. There was a stock of maps, guides, and other useful information for a visitor. I highly recommend it.
Jeremiah T.Jul 2018
We just got done staying at the Lucky Stone Cottage. It was on the quiet side of the island, so that was nice. It had a small yard that my kids (5 and 3) were able to play in. The house had pretty much everything a family would need. It even had a good selection of stuff for my kids to play with!
Just did a walk through, my friends stayed... They loved it. Beautiful room, we ate breakfast in the nice courtyard outside
Heath M.Jun 2018
This small house was what we expected...a good value for the money. It is not fancy but had everything we needed, except possibly a second bathroom but we were aware of it going in. Bed in master bedroom was very soft, so our back hurt a little in the morning. Kitchen was very nice as we cooked 1-2 meals a day. Our 4 young kids enjoyed playing outside on the grass. The house was quiet enough for being right off a Main Street. The location on the quiet side of the island was nice...close some great hikes like Acadia mountain and not too far from the main park.
We stayed here with another couple, and all had an incredible time. Beautiful rooms. We couldn’t have asked for anything more! Thank you for making the weekend so memorable!
Ravi T.Apr 2018
All you need for up to six people. Well equipped. If you go in April you have the park almost for yourself.
Hannah W.Apr 2018
A little removed from Acadia and most attractions. Very pleased with what the house had to offer. Futon "matress" is several ill fitting cushions.
Gloria R.Oct 2017
We loved the house and the location!
Arnaud F.Oct 2017
The house was great for our needs. Good size, great kitchen, nice bedrooms and bathroom. Very quiet area.
But there were few things that bothered us.
1st when we came in we found many bead bugs on the floor in the bathroom kitchen and bedroom. It made us wondered when was the last time the house was cleaned up???
2nd the heater was really loud and we couldn't use the fire place because it was locked for some reason.
We are sorry to see this guest experienced a few issues with their stay. The home had been cleaned a few days prior to guest arrival; we apologize if bugs sneaked in during that time. The fireplace is not advertised as it is not available for guest use, but the property manager will inspect the heater so ensure our guests will be warm enough.
Subhodeep D.Sep 2017
If you are visitng acadia ,this is a perfect place to stay.away from the bustle of bar harbour but close to all the places.
Karen K.Sep 2017
We just adored this home. The location was near a few of our favorite Mt Desert places of interest, like Southwest Harbor and not too far from Park Loop Road for cruising around the park. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. We enjoyed the openness of the living room/kitchen area. Cable TV and Internet service worked great and there was a great selection of channels to watch. We felt very much at home in this house. I would definitely stay here again!
Michael C.Aug 2017
The house was very well kept, it was a peaceful side of the island and within 30 minutes of all the main attractions. It was nice for a family of 5 to do some home cooking and enjoying the evening together.
Pau Gean N.Jul 2017
The cottage was lovely and cozy, not to mention it was clean and complete with basic needs. We had a wonderful stay.
Christina B.Jul 2017
We enjoyed our stay! It was the perfect place for a family and we enjoyed the games
Martin T.Jul 2017
If you love nature go Arcadia. The Seal Cove area is more quite, we liked it like this.
Kevin L.Jul 2017
The house was perfect for a family of 4.
We had perfect weather in July, which makes everything so much better.
John G.Jul 2017
nice place to spend a few nights near Acadia National Park
