It was nice, and cozy. Very clean. The forest around us was amazing. The house looks smaller than in the pictures, but was fine and great for just me and my partner. The ceilings upstairs and shower were definitely short for taller folks-- I'm 5'11 and I definitely and to lean, but it was definitely worth it-- and I'm 4'10 girlfriend loved it :)
Check-in is pretty late in the day and check out is pretty early, so it didn't seem really worth paying for 2 nights when we were there for such a small portion of the first and last day. But over all, great spot, very cute, and so accommodating for pups!

Private, quiet and well furnished. Very clean.

This home is cute and cozy, right next a babbling stream. It is in the trees and the air is fresh.

Had a tiny house feel yet plenty of room. The surrounding area is beautiful. I would be more than happy to stay there again.
Andrew B. Feb 2020
Had a great time staying at this little cabin - it was conveniently located just the right distance out of Portland, and the wood-burning firebox was a treat! Thank you,
Kathy G. Jan 2020
This is a great place to sit and relax! It is very cozy and inviting. Everything is available that you would need and it is pretty quiet and relaxing. There are board games available to play at the property. It is also close to a couple of trail heads. We have stayed a couple of time now and have enjoyed it every time.

Nice fireplace, great fenced in yard for dogs, quite spot back in the woods.
We'll be back!

My husband and I went for the evening just to get away from the house and spend quality time together. The place was very clean, very pet friendly, even had 2 beds, a food and water dish. My 2 dogs loved exploring the fenced backyard and being by the fireplace! It was so cozy, and although there were neighbors, you feel very secluded tucked back into the trees yet right on the main rd. About 5 or so min drive to a small grocery and tavern. Very quaint and lovely. Would not recommend for tall people. I'm 5'3 and wasnt a problem for me, my husband is 5'8 and felt the shower was a little cramped. But only a slight issue, and he still enjoyed it very much!

We really enjoyed our time here, it was very cute and cozy and had pretty much everything we needed for the night. Aside from a few cleanliness issues we ran into, which the management company said they would address, I would stay here again. They had lots of board games for us to play with our daughter, and the wood stove was amazing and really warmed the place up! The bedroom is a little uncomfortable since you can't stand up, so getting in and out is a bit awkward, but still a comfy bed.
Manager response:
We are so happy you enjoyed your time in our home! Thank you for your feedback on the cleanliness issues, we appreciate you bringing these to our attention. Our local staff is getting them taken care of! We hope to host you again soon!

Lovely with a river running through the back, cute low ceiling bedroom. Felt like a secret treehouse! Mostly secluded place except for lights from next door neighbirs. Went and had dinner at brightwood tavern, very down to earth. Well appointed kitchen. Decent value for price.

We loved the fireplace and plentiful fire wood and the sunny back deck! The bedroom loft is a little wonky to get in and out of (and the stairs are too steep for older dogs to navigate), but the bed is comfy. kitchen is well stocked but could use wine glasses and a some new nonstick pans. Thanks for having us!
Cori C. Nov 2019
This little cabin was super cute and perfect for my husband and I and our dog. They even had a little dog bed for my pup to sleep on. I loved the fenced in yard too!
Tara T. Sep 2019
The home and grounds are extremely clean and well put together. Extra touches for guests like soaps and shampoos and even playing cards and a corkscrew, were very sweet. Even though I didn’t bring my dogs this trip, all the extra pet friendly touches like dog beds, bowls, waste bags, and toys, were very appreciated. Everything we needed for cooking was available and in good repair. The property is nestled in the crook of a stream and the property is beautiful and peaceful.

We loved our stay here! Super cute lil place! Secluded and surrounded by nature. The dog loved the yard and we spent a lot of time BBQ-ing on the patio!
Shannon M. Jul 2019
What a great little spot! My sister and I stayed here for a few nights and had a blast! Our only regret was not booking a few more nights. The fenced in yard was perfect for my dog! Being completely surrounded by trees paired with the sound of the creek was magical!

Great quiet getaway spot. A very private location, sparkling clean inside, beautiful scenery. Thanks

We came up here for just a few days to relax and unwind and this cabin was beautiful and perfect for that. Everything was very clean and it was surrounded by trees in the nicest way.

There was a little stream you could walk up to on the property.

The wifi worked great after a little troubleshooting and we were able to relax and cozy up by the fireplace when it started raining. All in all it was an amazing vacation and We'd love to stay here again

Super clean cabin with lots of character and coziness, tucked away among trees in a darling area of other cabins and unique homes. Close to great hiking trails and Mt. Hood. Really enjoyed it!

Just what I needed! Quiet and beauty all in one fell swoop
Mike F. Apr 2019
Nice, clean, & quiet.
The kids enjoyed the loft.
WIFI didn't work - Thank you!
Instead, we spent our evening playing the many board games that were provided.
We'll be back!
Brian T. Mar 2019
Really nice, cozy spot. The fenced yard is great for dogs, and the wood stove is great for cozying up. Good workspace, lots of games, upstairs loft is great for reading and the room is super nice for sleeping. Nice bathtub. Oh and a great porch for sunny morning coffee and bird watching. The road is a bit busy during the day but quiets down a lot in the evening.
Elizabeth G. Jan 2019
Stayed here for 2 nights with a friend while doing some snowshoeing and cross country skiing. Cabin was well equipped, and super cute. Kitchen stocked with all the basics. Wifi worked well, lots of puzzles and games too. Bed and pull out were both very comfortable!

Quiet clean and relaxing

We stayed with our aussie pup for a relaxing weekend and while we loved relaxing by the fire watching Netflix our pup LOVED running around in the fenced yard. We played outside, grilled, and drove to Bennett Pass so our pup can play in the snow. It was a lovely weekend, we'll definitely be back soon.
Kristen K. Jan 2019
This was beautiful, peaceful & relaxing treasure found in the heart of Rhododendron. I was very impressed with how close hiking trails were as well as a common grocery store. The family really takes care of this place & I was thankful it has a washer/dryer. Definitely needed it to clean my clothes after a few wet hikes. I will book this cabin again for another trip up that way.
Karras K. Dec 2018
We loved the place and it’s location. The cabin was cozy and clean with enough small places to relax and enjoy the home. We will definelty book this place again.

Good place for a weekend get away.

Nice and cizy
Caitlin M. Sep 2018
Such a nice peaceful little get away, you can hardly see the neighbors too! It was clean and cozy. Our 2 dogs loved the two decks and the creek close by. We were sad that it was warm outside so we were unable to use the wood stove or else it would have made it even more perfect. Wonderful place to stay with the family. We will most definetly be back soon!
Ken & Cyndy L. Jul 2018
Very relaxing, washer/dryer useless. Had some hassles booking so I was not expecting much. Cabin was sufficient enjoyed location very much! Screens doors to patio would be great, sofa bed needs new mattress.
Molly F. Jun 2018
The location was so convenient as it was very close to trailheads and the town Sandy. Loved the cabin itself! Super cozy and charming.
morten h. May 2018
I stayed at the cabin for a conference at the nearby Resort at the mountain. The place was clean and tidy and the bed pretty comofortable.
Kimberly V. May 2018
Cozy, and a fenced yard for our pooch! Hiking trails around! Thanks
Eduardo B. Apr 2018
Well-maintained and cozy, just what we expected for a relaxing weekend in the forest.
Drew K. Mar 2018
Small, but quaint and clean.
Fernando B. Feb 2018
It is a very beautiful location. Very peaceful and quiet. The yard was all snowed in when we got in and that made it very beautiful. The nearby restaurant are very good and there are a good range of options.
Good and easy access to the mountains from the property.
We enjoyed our stay at this cozy cabin.
Nicolas L. Dec 2017
Everything I could have hoped for and more. Booked the spot for a proposal weekend at Timberline before Christmas. House was fully decorated inside and especially homey. Favorite part of my experience was how much firewood was available to burn in the stove. Would most certainly stay again.
Alex F. Dec 2017
Lovely little cabin in a great location. The main challenge was the kitchen - stove top did not work and few implements for the alternative of the oven. Also, just taking into account that it is a dog-friendly cabin (which is great), but there was a lot of fluff and fur about... we left a day early given these challenges, but otherwise had a great time and enjoyed the fire and views very much.
Manager response:
The property manager has repaired the stove, and housekeeping will take more care with pet hair. We are sorry to see these were issues during this visit. Thank you!

This small secluded rustic cabin surrounded by towering trees, a rushing creek, and a high secure fence for dogs is perfect! The cabin of my dreams! Spent four nights here as a place for retreat. The cabin is close to all wilderness adventures, choices for all skill levels. The cabin has a sweet fireplace and plenty of wood for chopping. Small alcove bedroom, cozy, comfy, and warm. My dog thought it was a huge dog bed for her. She let me share! Even though it was a but chilly I had to leave the windows open to enjoy the sounds of the rushing creek and blowing winds! The kitchen was adequately stocked much more then I expected. I paint so brought my supplies and enjoyed painting at the little desk in front of the large window looking out at the yard, creek, and trees. There is some road noise, not enough to bother. After a feed hours out hiking this was a joy to return to! I hope to come back in a couple months when the snow falls!

If you want to get away from the city life, this is the place to go. It's a perfect little house in the woods. Our stay there was great. The house is super cute and peaceful. We will come back.
Daryl G. Oct 2017
My spouse and I stayed here for two lovely nights to begin the fall season. We couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised at the location, the cabin, and how peaceful and comfortable the entire experience was.

When we arrived, a rep from Vacasa was there to meet us to make sure that we had everything we needed - very friendly and helpful. The cabin itself is charming - a bit "rustic" in a few ways (kitchen is a bit outdated, but completely functional) and those considering this cabin do need to realize that the bedroom upstairs is in a converted attic space - the bed sits on the floor and the pitch of the ceiling is quite low, not allowing one to be able to stand up completely in the bedroom. But the bed was very comfortable and the sheets/quilt were warm and comfortable.

We were most impressed at how thoroughly stocked and completely spotless the cabin was. The kitchen has absolutely everything one could need to cook meals and stay in (which we did). Toaster, microwave, full oven/stove, coffee maker/grinder, electric tea kettle, full dishes/mugs/glassware, every utensil for cooking and eating, and then some. They supply a generous amount of firewood for enjoying a real wood fire in the living room fireplace.

In the living room, there's a comfortable couch, several chairs, and plenty of space. Blankets abound for the chilly evenings. Decor is rustic cabin, but pleasant. We brought out dogs with us and the place couldn't be better for animal companions. They supply dog dishes and the fenced in yard was wonderful for playing with the pups. VERY dog friendly space!

The location is outstanding - there is a beautiful creek that surrounds the entire property, offering the constant sound of babbling water. We loved that. Thick woods separate the cabin from neighbors so the space feels perfectly private. There is a little noise from the road near the property, but it didn't bother us at all. Plus, the location is close to several stores, including a market, for anything one might have forgotten to bring.

We wish we could have stayed a few nights longer! We'll definitely be back for another getaway in this wonderful place. If you're looking for a romantic and quiet getaway that's only 30-45 minutes from Portland, this cabin is perfect.

Book it. You won't regret it.

We enjoyed our stay very much. Private and quiet and peaceful. Beautiful surrounding and so relaxing. It was so hard to leave.
Ben H. Jul 2017
This place is very nice and has a good location. It is quite small in some places. Big people would be hard pressed to fit in the narrow loft bedroom.
Mindy K. Jul 2017
The cabin was PERFECT!!! I loved it and it even had the best fenced in dog area around the cabin. Was great, cozy, and had everything I needed including usb plugin for charging at bedside (forgot my charger at home) nice and private but still close to amenities. It was just me and my dog travelling so was a great size and quiet and relaxing for us. The area was absolutely beautiful.

I spent the week here for a writing retreat to help finish my dissertation, and it was exactly what I was looking for. The interior is cozy and clean and the kitchen was stocked well enough with cookware that I could cook for the week. The kitchen itself feels a bit dated and the wire fence doesn't do any favors for the views from den. But I thoroughly enjoyed the wood stove (you can buy firewood at the convenience store ~4 min away at the Brightwood Store) and spending time by the stream out back.
