Gorgeous riverfront home & guesthouse w/ deck, hot tub, firepits & media room!

Discover a picturesque escape at the foot of Mt. Adams at this four-bedroom Trout Lake property, a beautiful lodge and adjacent guest house with a gorgeous private hot tub and deck, nearby access to hundreds of miles of muti-use trails for cross-country skiing and snowmobiling in the winter and mountain biking in the summer, and an incredible piece of property on the shores of the White Salmon River.

Stunningly situated on a six-acre parcel of land with 625 feet of riverfront access, this upscale retreat is secluded, elegant, and surrounded by open countryside. Here in the pine trees, you'll be just one mile north of the town of Trout Lake, three miles south of cross-country skiing and snowmobiling at the Pineside Sno-Park, and 26 miles north of Hood River on the banks of the Columbia.

No matter the season of your vacation, you'll also have access to a bounty of local hiking trails, snowshoe trails, and river rafting excursions in the surrounding Gifford Pinchot National Forest and Mt. Adams Recreation Area.

Step inside the three-level main house to find a living space that seamlessly blends comfort, luxury, and charming alpine atmosphere. Gather with your loved ones amid exposed brick and natural wood beams, cool off on summer days in the central AC, or curl up by the fireplace on snow-filled winter evenings.

Begin each morning in the beautifully appointed gourmet kitchen, an open space that overlooks the river and the backyard. Heat up the waffle iron, grind some fresh local coffee beans, and blend some fresh fruit for homemade smoothies. You'll also have a stainless steel gas stove, plenty of island seating for your sous chefs, an eat-in breakfast table, and a dining room with space for 12.

Stack the plates in the dishwasher and head outdoors to enjoy your breathtaking natural surroundings. Read a book at the table on the deck as the river rushes beneath you, entertain family and friends in the covered pavilion, or light the gas grill for an al fresco lunch around the picnic table in the grass.

Watch your children squeal with delight as they play games of tag on the grass, then join them for a soothing soak in the incredibly positioned hot tub. As the sun begins to set, take that as your cue to grab a seat by the firepit on the covered porch, or recline in an Adirondack chair by the stone fireplace in the pavilion.

On summer and winter nights, the whole group can retreat to the media room downstairs, where you'll find a 70-inch cable TV (basic cable only), a DVD player with a small collection of films, and surround sound that is wired both inside and outside of the home. Throw a few logs in the wood-burning stove and challenge your kids to a few friendly games of pool, foosball, or poker.

The main house features three bedrooms and three bathrooms that will accommodate as many as six guests. The bedrooms offer one king-size bed, one queen-size bed, and a set of twin beds, as well as a futon. The fourth bedroom and bathroom are located in the guest lodge above the garage, which provides the perfect amount of privacy for four more guests. The maximum occupancy for the whole house is 10. The one guest house bedroom has a queen-size bed and a queen-size sofabed. There's even a small living room, a convenient kitchenette for preparing midnight snacks, and a gas-powered fireplace to add warmth and character.

The three-bedroom lodge can also be rented alone for fewer guests. Event use available for an extra fee. Please ask reservationists via telephone for more information.

Additional amenities at the Riverwood Lodge & Guest House include WiFi and a private washer/dryer, which will help you research and prepare for every possible outdoor adventure.

Although this home is a spectacular destination in its own right, you'll also be within minutes of fantastic recreation in winter, spring, summer, and fall. Come winter, heavy snow conditions can provide guests with ski-in/ski-out access to the nearby Pineside Sno-Park, where you'll find groomed cross-country ski trails and snowmobiling opportunities at the foot of Mt. Adams.

Come summer, join River Drifters, Wet Planet Whitewater, Zoller's Outdoor Odysseys, or one of the other local outfitters on the rapids of the White Salmon River. Windsurfers will be a short drive from world-class conditions on the shores of Hood River, while hikers will find countless trails in the Columbia River Gorge and Gifford Pinchot National Forest. You can even hop on your mountain bike and find miles of traffic-free roads just outside your front door.

Come and discover the privacy, luxury, and beauty of this Trout Lake escape - book your Washington vacation today!

* Please note that there is one security camera on-site and it faces the driveway only.

Each spring, our friends rent a house to get out of the city for a long weekend. We look for a place that offers immediate access to nature but also comfortable indoor spaces with room for a big group. Riverwood Lodge has it all. And the fireplace by the river—calling it a fireplace doesn't do it justice—is amazing. I'd bet that we wind up going back.

Riverwood was the perfect place for our all women retreat. The kitchen is big with a center island for talking while cooking. Lots of space, and bedrooms. It is a beautiful setting with a river running through it. We spent a couple of hours in the hot tub -- just because it was such a great setting. Thanks for having such a wonderful place and sharing it.

We spent a lovely weekend at Riverwood in January, celebrating two birthdays. The spacious warm log home accommodated 7 of us with no problems. The large but cozy well stocked kitchen provided everything we needed to create delicious birthday fare. The river view from the kitchen only added to the fun of group cooking. Our last morning, while cooking breakfast, it snowed, which only added to the charm of our experience. We didn’t want to leave!!! Can’t say enough good things about this beautifully maintained property.

What a magical destination!! We fell in love with Riverwood upon entering the gate going down the lane. Opening the door, it felt just like home--cozy and inviting. The gourmet kitchen was well stocked and large enough to accommodate three busy chefs. All bedrooms are ensuite with very comfortable mattresses. And the outdoor porch area with the gas firepit, overlooking the river made a perfect spot for a glass (or two) of wine! A wonderfully clean hot tub for those that wanted a soak after a fun day in the snow. All in all, we could not have asked for more. A big shout out to Rick and Theresa for making our short visit a memory filled experience. We will be back!

The house is very nice with a kitchen that is great for visiting while cooking. Beautiful setting with the small river in the backyard. We all loved the Pavilion with its big fireplace. I have nothing bad to say about our stay.

All our guests could say was “WOW!” What a gorgeous location for a get together. The outdoor fireplace down by the river was a popular spot to mingle and talk story. The main house looks and feels like a vintage hunting cabin only with all the modern conveniences. As always the kitchen, became the meeting spot to have a coffee...or a beer, with the view of the river outside the windows beckoning. Trout Lake offers all sorts of diversions including hiking, biking, skiing in the winter always with Mt Adams watching over us. We can’t wait to return to this idyllic homestead.

Thanks again so much for your hospitality at Riverwood. What a great experience. We came to Riverwood for a small company retreat. The house was immaculate and spacious. Everyone had room to find their own quiet spot to read or reflect, and the gathering spaces were large enough for everyone to come together for a meal, cocktails around the fire, or a soak in the hot tub-all with the sound of the river rushing by. This place has to be seen to be appreciated. So much attention to detail-truly everything has been thought out for making your stay comfortable. The location is an outdoor fan’s paradise. Some of us hiked, some road biked, and several explored gravel roads by mountain bike. Endless terrain to explore literally right out of the driveway. Seriously-you could spend weeks here and not ride the same trail/road twice. The hiking nearby has epic views and the river has everything from wild to mild. The little village of Trout Lake has everything you need-general store, coffee/pastry/wood fired pizza shop, and outstanding food and beverage at the Trout Lake Inn. Can’t wait to come back and spend more time in this area!

Gorgeous home and well furnished! We experienced several issues: 1)Lower level reeked of smoke and was unusable, 2)Shower/tub in twin bedroom was unusable and I bet it always is. There is fancy wallpaper all around the shower and no shower curtain, 3) Outside hot tub jets did not work, 4) one hair dryer in house with 4 bedrooms, 4) we had a bat in the master bedroom; we notified management company but got no response.
Having said that, options are limited in this area and I would probably come back. Hopefully it will be better managed if we return. The house was great for four couples.
Manager response:
We apologize for the issues this guest encountered. We did attempt to call them back, but cell service in the area is always very spotty. For this reason we are investigating getting a landline put in the home. We fixed the jets on the hot tub, and we purchased a couple new hair dryers for the home. We are going to get the ducts sealed off so no critters can get into the home, and we have scheduled a repair for the tub leak. Thank you!

We reserved this place for my girlfriend's surprise birthday party!! The property is isolated, clean, serene... It has all the amenities one can ask for a beautiful getaway and fun time with friends and family. Close to a lot of good hikes. Beautiful, fast river flowing right next to this house is the biggest highlight. Got ourselves a beer or a glass of wine, and sat outside listening to the flowing water and we forgot all our troubles. Definitely looking forward to booking this house soon again. Summer has just begun.

The house was perfect for a gathering of our family. The kids could play downstairs and the adults relaxed upstairs. Everyone enjoyed the hot tub. The well-stocked kitchen was used to prepare all of our meals. We also enjoyed visiting the general store and cafe! Good food and drinks at reasonable prices. We usually took a day hike in the nearby national forest; so many easy hikes to beautiful waterfalls!

Riverwood Lodge is an amazing place to stay! Rick, Teresa and VACASA are wonderful hosts and the place is beyond amazing. Idyllic, peaceful setting. Top-shelf appointments, fireplaces inside and out, the rushing White Salmon River in your backyard. Enjoy everything that nature and this place has to offer. Plus you are 1 mile from charming Trout Lake and 20 mins to White Salmon/25 mins to Hood River down 141, which is a peaceful easy beautiful drive……….You will not be disappointed.

OH MY GOD - What a fantastic place!!! Beautiful home in a beautiful setting right on the White Salmon River. Multiple fireplaces, great outdoor hot tub just steps away from the river. The home is luxurious and well-appointed with a very modern kitchen including 2 ovens and top shelf appliances. Lower level rec room has pool table, Foosball table and big screen TV. This was a great get-away. Stay here - you won't be disappointed!

We had an opportunity to stay at Riverwood this winter, right as the first snow of the year began to fall, and am already looking forward to returning. Riverwood is an amazing home and retreat located on the banks of the White Salmon River just outside the amazing town of Trout Lake, Washington. The layout of the house is perfect for big groups and families that are looking for the ultimate relaxed retreat that you will never want to leave. The only real reason to the leave the house is visit the outdoor hot tub, one of the multiple outdoor fireplaces, or to ski just across the street and access some great cross country ski trails with sweeping views of Mount Adams.

We have stayed many places but this one far exceeds all of the others
Peggy . Nov 2017
It was a well equipped and a beautiful place and the memories of relaxing in the hot tub while watching the fast moving water go by were on par with sitting on the deck out of the elements watching the gas fireplace. Hard to beat!

Do no searching. Just get here with friends and family. You will have an amazing experience.

Six of us stayed here for TH to MN to be able to enjoy Trout Lake/Mt. Adams bike ride. The house easily held all of us (3 nice bedrooms upstairs and a futon downstairs). The kitchen had all the necessary cookware, utensils, coffee maker, etc. to allow us to make a nice family feast. It was wonderful to sit and relax next to the White Salmon River. I highly recommend this lodge.

Riverwood is amazing. Simply put, it is one of the best vacation venues that I have ever stayed at. Everything from the high end finishes to the river access is top quality. Don't waste your time looking anywhere else, stay at Riverwood.

What a place! Incredible setting, incredible accommodations. Had 60th birthday party here and it couldn't have been more perfect. Everything we could have wanted and needed in one place. Fire pit on the deck, hot tub out back and huge outside covered fire place, all along side the White Salmon River. Highly recommend retreat!
Yve G. . Feb 2017
An amazing property. The accommodation was simply the best and the location is just perfect. Everything related to the house and amenities were a 10. Highly recommended.

We spent 4 days over New Year's at Riverwood and the property was great. The house has everything you need whether you plan to explore the beautiful surroundings, or just hang out with friends and family. We plan to go back in the future. The house was exactly as advertised, and the owner provided thoughtful orientation and recommendations on places to go. The property is situated on the White Salmon River in breathtaking view of Mt. Adams (particularly at sunset), and is 10-30 minutes from a variety of attractions like the snow parks, ice caves, and White Salmon for some good food and beer at the local brewery.

OMG!! What an experience! Was looking for some peace and quiet for the holiday, and found it @ Riverwood. Loved the outdoor propane fire pit on the covered patio, allowing us to stay warm and dry, while watching the White Salmon River flow by. The interior of this log home feels so inviting. Furnished with the utmost in comfort, in mind, and a kitchen everyone wanted to "hang out" in. First class accommodations, through and through, and the host(s) had nothing in mind but to make our stay a very pleasant one. We were surprised to find a great Nordic ski awaited us, so early in the season, less than 15 min. away @ Smith Butte, on Mt. Adams. So much less crowded than those same outings on Mt. Hood! I guarantee, we'll be back!
