Dog-friendly cottage w/ a private hot tub, a huge backyard, walk to the beach!

Experience a quaint coastal getaway with the ones you love at this dog-friendly Port Orford cottage. Welcoming up to six guests and two dogs, it's an inviting abode with a private hot tub, a large backyard, and a great location for exploring the beautiful Southern Oregon Coast.

Tucked into a woodsy neighborhood on the southwest side of town, the home's secluded location offers plenty of peace and quiet. Take a short walk west to find the nearest beach, or go east into town for shopping and dining options along Highway 101.

Whether you've come for a relaxing weekend or an activity-filled stay, you're sure to find just what you're looking for in this home. Spend some time in the living area's upbeat ambiance, where colorful walls, coast-inspired furnishings, and artistic decor reside. Flip on the Netflix- and DVD-equipped TV for a group movie on a rainy day, or draw the curtains for a refreshing mid-day nap.

When you get hungry, head into the kitchen to whip up fresh seafood dishes using its modern appliances, varied cookware, and ample countertops. Eat together at the dining area table, or take your meal onto the outdoor deck or patio if the weather calls for it. There's also an outdoor fire pit for warming up at night, and a gazebo for taking in fresh air. While dining al fresco, you'll be treated to the fragrant smell of myrtlewood, and you could even let your dogs run around in the fenced-in yard (with a small nightly fee, up to two dogs are welcome to join you).

Wind down your day with a dip in the home's hot tub on the enclosed porch, or connect to the WiFi to plan tomorrow's adventures. You also needn't pack heavy thanks to a private washer/dryer.

Retire to any of the three bedrooms for the restful sleep you deserve. With a king bed in downstairs suite, a full bed in the guest bedroom, and an additional king-size bedroom upstairs, up to six guests are accommodated here.

Wake with a fresh cup of coffee and toast in the kitchen, then review your schedule. Right here in Port Orford you'll find a secluded beach to explore - keep an eye out for rocks and shells buried in the sand, or stop for a photo of the seastack rocks in the distance. You'll have a few restaurants around town, and no trip to town is complete without a stop at Crazy Norwegian's Fish & Chips.

Ready for some road trips? Lace up some sturdy shoes for a hike at Humbug Mountain State Park (six miles south), visit the Cape Blanco Lighthouse (10 miles north), or tour the Hughes Historic House (about nine miles north). You could also check out other coastal communities both north and south along Highway 101, including Gold Beach, Brookings, Bandon, and Coos Bay.

Good location for this older but comfortable house with a fenced yard; walking distance to two beaches, in a quiet neighborhood.

We loved Myrtlewood Cottage. They have thought of everything, all of our needs were met. Our pups loved the yard and we enjoyed our morning coffee under the “gazebo”. Very private, well stocked and so clean. Thank you for a wonderful place.

Deceiving from online pics. Beautiful inside and the back area is the best. Even had a deer come down to munch on the greenery.
This will be my annual stay in Port Orford. Most important, the house was clean, very clean...

Pretty cool, comfy house, & my dogs & I loved the secured backyard! Although the beach is beautiful, there's not much to do in Port Orford, but it's conveniently located for exploring as far north along the coast as Florence & down the coast to Brookings, & it was great to be able to soak in the hot tub after a day of exploring.

This home had so many special touches and was so comfortable, it felt like we were staying in someone's home and not a mere vacation rental. I really appreciated the yard for the dogs as well as all the lawn furniture. The kitchen was charming with all the teapots and various ceramic kitties! I would suggest providing some extra blankets for the beds and possibly some mirrors in the bedrooms. With just the one bathroom, it might make things more convenient. Overall, the place is great, quiet, comfortable, and felt safe. I would definitely stay here again.

This is a wonderful eclectically decorated home with a big fenced back yard. I slept better on the king sized mattress than I did anywhere else on our vacation.

It's a nice enough place on paper - but there are a number of problems for the price point.

Neither mattress was comfortable, the second bedroom is a Full (not Queen - as advertised). I had an allergic reaction to the pet dander in the house despite how clean the house seemed (perhaps lingering on furniture).

The television system was complicated, the DVD and game selection are incredibly limited. The WiFi information provided was incorrect and I had to deal with the owner's internet provider when I was on my vacation. :(

Additionally, there is a creepy security system which should be mentioned to all future renters. If I had been able to navigate the television better, I would not have been aware that there are cameras on the property.

The hot tub was sandy when I arrived and I was never able to get the temp over 99 degrees. There were no instructions for how to increase the temp - so it was not used for the duration of my weekend (it was one of the only reasons I chose this house - and the 6 hour drive).
Manager Response:
We are sorry to see there were some frustrations with this visit. The property manager has written instructions for TV use and was able to connect quite easily to the internet using the password we provide to our guests. This hot tub does not have an economy mode and is always set to 104 degrees for our renters; we found it heating properly upon inspection. We do provide a note to our incoming guests that there are security cameras; they are only located on outside entrances for security purposes. Thank you!
