We loved staying in your home. The view was amazing and you had everything we needed. We had adults, teens and tweens and everyone had a great time. Thank you for sharing your home
We were a party of two adults and one teen, this home had plenty of space for us. The table in front of the main windows was a perfect spot for relaxing, chatting and enjoying the view. Everything you need to cook with is pretty much in the kitchen. The king bed in the master is memory foam. Please bring a blow dryer if you use one as there was not one in the master bath.
Stunning ocean view, private setting, well-appointed kitchen, cozy floor plan.
This was our second time at this house. Just like the first we enjoyed the privacy and quiet time away from crowds. Our dog really liked the spacious interior. Great location and the weather was perfect.
The home is very comfortable, has a wonderful view of the ocean and is a short walk to a great beach. For a beach house the home was clean but could had more detail paid to cobwebs, etc. Also some of the fixtures such as towel holders are in disrepair but nothing major. Kitchen was well appointed. We loved the home. Piano was a bonus! Would recommend.
Perfect place for us and our 1 year old dog. Lots of room to spread out or find a quiet spot to read or relax. Very quiet. Will rent it again!
Sandpiper's Nest had everything we could've asked for. The house is a bit on the older side, but has all the charm we desired. Beds were comfortable, bathrooms were clean, and kitchen was very well equipped. If we ever go back out to Oregon's southern coast, we'll definitely be back. Thank you!
Awesome place with beautiful view! Loved it
Location was great and the people in the community were very nice.
We enjoyed our stay, especially the fireplace, sunken living room and deck with view. The house and furnishings were older and in need of some updating, but the house itself was clean, which was important to us. We found what we needed in the kitchen. Nice towels and bedding. Overall a pleasant experience. Special kudos to housecleaning!
The view is phenomenal! The weather was frightful outside but it was warm and nice inside. The view and the location is peaceful and although not right on the beach it was a nice walk to the beach.
The house is in need of a remodel as the furniture is old and the cushions in the living room have seen better days. Some of the pots and pans were also a little greasy so I washed them before using. Overall the house was clean.
What a wonderful view and overall feel this home has. I would highly recommend it!
The house is my favorite style of architecture. I would have bought it when is was on the market a few years back had I known.
The view was lovely, the neighbors as quiet as we were and the walk to the beach, awesome. We picked fresh huckleberries every morning for waffles and pancakes.
*There is one very firm bed and futon. Side sleepers beware. The other full bed in the loft is softer.
*Games and cribbage boards throughout. We played many.
*Kiddo had a blast making a fort with a sheet in the seating area.
*Deck is wonderful but seating is thin plastic and limited. Bring your own camping chair.
*Bring your own wood for the fireplace. Reading by it in the evening was bliss.
*Cookware pans were damaged and may make cooking tricky. We are cooks and made the best out of it but were limited in what we could cook based on the offerings. Consider meal planning after your arrival.
*Water pressure was fantastic.
*Cable didn't work. Box was faulty. Would have been good to know. We would have brought movies.
*Guest book indicates the house may have been furnished in the past with higher end items. Not the case now but also not an issue for us.
*We weren't bothered by the stains on the carpet since we expect that on occasion in rentals that allow pets. We brought ours and he was very comfortable.
We will be back. We just plan to bring a featherbed or camping mattress to put on the firm bed, a couple of pots and pans and some camping chairs for the deck. The view is too good to sit in those chairs offered.
Can't wait to return!
We apologize the cable was out and are working with Charter to get it functioning normally again. Thank you!
After being on a road trip for days, we enjoyed our 2 nights and a low key day at the house. The home is very functional! Our kids enjoyed the toys, puzzle available and playing chess :). Even though we had a foggy day, the numerous windows kept the light in and we appreciated the view and going to seal rock to see... seals! We found a relaxing time and we would be ready to come back if the opportunity come up. Thank you very much :D
great view of the ocean, quiet residential area, fun activities both to the north and south of the location.
Location. Cost. Cleanliness
Great location, amazing view, beach wasn't crowded. We will definitely be back.
Private, lots of windows, sunken living with fireplace, great for a relaxing stay.
Cool spot in the trees with a great ocean view. Beds are a little small and dated, but the piano, sunken living space and view more than make up for it. Fireplace is great too. Our sometimes timid German Shepherd instantly felt at home so we knew it was a good place. Thanks!
We enjoyed our stay at the house. We always go the week after Christmas for a relaxing end to the year. The house does have a fantastic view if standing up or on the deck. It has a comfortable cabin feel to it and we enjoyed the fireplace every night we were there. The kitchen is fully stocked so if you're cooking there is no problem finding what you need. It's also convenient for our trips to Newport, Yachats and Depot Bay that we always make. The downside to us was the noise in the loft. If you go to bed before everybody else you might as well still be downstairs watching TV or conversing because you heard every word as if you were still downstairs. And when the early birds got up to make coffee and let the pooch out there was no sleeping in for you! And, we are loungers. Lounging in the pit was a big difficult with 4 adults. The cushions are just too old and thin. Overall, we had a relaxing visit to this house but we won't stay here again because of the noise factor.
We enjoyed the stay very much.
We loved the cozy retro feel of the home and the amazing views. The wood burning fireplace was a real treat. We'll be back again.
Great view of the ocean. Very quiet. We will be back.
This was an amazing home for a wonderful family vacation. Plenty of room for everyone without stepping on each other and nothing can top the view of the sunsets from the deck.
Awesome place to stay and visit!!
We've rented many places in Oregon and California and this was our favorite for design, location, quietude, and, of course, Vacasa team help! Truly, we loved the easy beach access, closeness to busier hubs, but the quiet and relaxing charm of Waldport. This house is perfect for a couple of a family of four. We loved it.
This property was just what we needed for a coastal getaway weekend! The location was great and loved the house. We took many day trips over to Yachats, OR and along the coast and it was wonderful to come "home" to build a fire and cook dinner. We would definitely stay in this home again. Thanks!
We had a wonderful time definitely would recommend
Spent a week at this property, could have stayed longer. The carpet was the only issue experienced.
Very nice property nicely located in the incomparable central Oregon coast.
The view from Sandpiper's Nest is lovely, and the deck offers a most pleasant place to relax outside and enjoy the sounds of ocean, breeze, and birds. The cottage itself is a mixed bag--design reminiscent of a Fay Jones layout (lots of built-ins, different levels, cathedral ceiling, sunken LR, etc.--but no fine architectural touches). Lovely space, but in need of updating and maintenance. While basically comfortable, a little love & care would improve the overall feel. Downstairs BR is dark and close. Upstairs loft BR open and shares bath w/adjacent space containing futon and desk. While all this open space offers more light than a comparable aged home in this location would, it's also noisy, so consider that when planning rental for more than 2 people. Kitchen, galley-sized, is well-equipped w/smallware and modern dishwasher (no garbage disposal). Good laundry equipment. Location--though not ocean-front, is a short walk down the road to a lovely stretch of beach and neighborhood is nice. On the north side of the Alsea Bay bridge--close to Waldport and not far from Newport and all the amazing sights along that stretch of Oregon Coast .
Would recommend w/reservations--if you're looking for new and in shiny, tip-top condition, this isn't the house for you. If a little more rustic or that ambience of a beach house that's been in the family for years--maybe a little worn but still sweet, then you'll like it here.
Really enjoyed our stay. Kitchen was well set up, place was clean and was prepared for stormy weather with games and all the necessary media amenities. We will come back here again!
Enjoyed the house. Was not happy about all the ants in the kitchen and bathrooms
My sister and I stayed at Sandpipers Nest with our two teenage boys. It was very relaxing, comfortable and homey. Great location and view, peaceful.
I loved the 'dated' feel of the house and the design was just COOL!
Very comfortable amenities.
Very peaceful, fun, and a great restorative weekend.
Nice home, beautiful views and really equipped. Privacy was great. When you get the email for optional late checkout do it! Right away!
The fireplace was amazing to use while watching a storm come in from the ocean. House has great view as well located perfectly to visit all the sites.
Wonderful home, funky and fun! It's a great place even on stormy days so you feel relaxed even if you don't get to stroll on the beach because of weather.
The sunken living room, the fireplace, the large windows and view... Very enjoyable.
Beautiful home with a beautiful view! Great for a weekend getaway with family and/or friends
I loved this house. The view was spectacular, it was very clean and well stocked with kitchen pots, pans and other miscellaneous items. It was very peaceful. As some have said, it felt a little worn but not in a bad way. I really enjoyed the seating in the living room too, it was so unique!
All around a great experience. The home is one we plan to return to: sweeping ocean views, inviting main room, and a well-equipped kitchen. The unusual design works well for a vacation getaway and may evoke a treasured nostalgia if you're a child of the 80s.
There are a few reasons NOT to consider this property--nothing wrong with the home, just the feature set. If you want immediate step-out-the-door beach access, if you need parking for 4 or more cars, if you have mobility issues (steps), if you need indoor dining seats for more than 4 adults, or if you really need a home style designed after 1990.
We really enjoyed it and plan to visit again.
My wife, myself and our great Lab had a great time for 4 days here. The place had a really well equipped kitchen which made cooking, which we like to do, easier than the other similar places we have rented. I would rate the overall condition of the place as gently used but comfortable. We really enjoyed just hanging out in the sunken living room watching movies, reading, etc.. It was raining much of the time so this was great. The upstairs sleeping area was sparse but appeared adequate. We did not need it so no problem for us. The view was spectacular! Very private considering there are neighbors surrounding the place on three sides. Easy beach access and close to Waldport. You need to try a burger at Vicki's Big Wheel Drive Inn. Located just behind the Chevron station before the bridge.
This is a very comfortable home with everything you need, some of the finishes are dated but it mattered little to us and the house was very clean. The best part of this house is the wall of windows and amazing view of the ocean. One of the best places EVER to watch a sunset.
this was a nice home in a quiet neighborhood, the home had every thing we needed and more. the view is awesome. its close to downtown Waldport and just a short ride to Seal Rock where it was very interesting to watch the glass blower.
My wife and I took a weeks vacation for our 20 year anniversary. We were very please with the property and the ease of making the reservation. We had one small issue on check in but the staff were very responsive and fixed it the next day. Overall I was very pleased and will rent this property again.
Thanks for a great week.
Tim and Lisa
quiet,,close to beach, nice view, everything work fine (TV,internet).....nice place
Loved this house. It was very clean and comfortable. Will definitely go back! Nice quiet street n easy walk to the beach...
Did all our sight seeing and shopping and then had great , quiet, retreat back at the house in the evenings. My wife would like a King Size bed, but the queen was comfortable.
We truly enjoyed the location & house. The house is a little dated but nothing we couldn't deal with. Overall, we would stay again, price was right and so was the location. We usually stay in Newport, this was much nicer and cheaper than staying in hotel with so many more amenities.
We recently drove cross country from Michigan to our new home in Seattle. On the way we learned our house would not be ready on our planned arrival date, and we decided to make the detour to the coast. This house was perfect! After camping, the three of us and our two dogs could spread out luxuriously. We enjoyed the kitchen, the back porch, and the indoor fireplace. It was a great place (with wifi) for my husband to get caught up on work, and my stepson on school. It was a perfect refuel after a long trip
We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 nights at Sandpipers Nest. The house has a long history of vacation rental, and many happy memories are recorded in a guest book. The house is located quite high above the beach in a good residential area, but a 10 minute walk has you on the sand. The house is extremely well-equipped. We particularly enjoyed the piano! The Waldport-Yachats part of the coast is much quieter than areas further north, traffic is less of a problem, and there is lots to do. A very enjoyable vacation property - and dog-friendly - which was a primary consideration for us.
WOW!!! First thing you notice when you walk in is the view, What an awesome place. Floor to ceiling windows to enjoy the beauty of the Oregon coast. Also the deck is fantastic for relaxing and enjoying the views too. We LOVED to retro feel of the place and the openness off everything. There was plenty of space for our group. We had 5 adults, 1 child and 2 dogs. We will definitely be recommending this place to others and will be back if ever in the area again.
We absolutely loved our stay! Not too far from the beach, close to the things we wanted to see (Cape Perpetua) and very cozy. At home we have no stairs so our dog obviously has never had to use any, he was terrified of the stairs! It was so funny! He just wouldnt climb them. The view of the sunset from the porch was amazing!
We had a great time at this home. We hadn't ever stayed in Waldport and would come back in an instant. It's a sleepy town with beautiful, quiet beaches. The house was a trek away from the beach but we knew that having read the description. It was no biggie, we walked and got to see the neighborhood. The only thing was that there is no sidewalk and you have to walk on the shoulder of the road, not the best. The home is funky and cool (kinda "Brady" style)! We liked the quirkiness of the kitchen and the sunken area of the livingroom. The cushions aren't the most comfortable but I'd take that over some sterile, hotel furnishings any day! It had a beautiful view and comfortable beds, can't beat that. There should be photos of the stairs on the website, as this may be a problem for some folks, wasn't for us but they aren't traditional stairs and they have large open slats. Also there was a broken light fixture and some chips in some of the mugs and a bowl which all should be replaced. Otherwise, we loved it and would've stayed longer if we could have! We'll definitely be back! Thanks :)
Thank you for your feedback, this is definitely a unique home with lots of character!
The house is pretty far from the beach, a nice hike to get there and back. But the deck and view were very nice.
The little game table in front of the windows was much enjoyed, played cribbage and several games of chess with my daughter.
The sunken fireplace was also lovely, we had a fire both nights- no desire to have a fire on the beach with this cozy fireplace!
It is a bit dated, but was cute and comfortable. With the last minute booking discount, this was a good deal, but I would probably lean towards a house closer to the beach next time, to come and go more easily.
Oh, and someone else mentioned, the slats of the stairs and balcony with the bedrooms- the openings are too big for smaller children. It is not safe for them.
Thanks for this helpful review. We love this charming home with it's comfortable living room and fireplace. The beach is a bit less than a mile's walk away which is something that some families with young kids might want to consider.
The wrap around deck and floor to ceiling windows make up for some of the disappointments with furnishings. Loved being on a hill, looking out at the treetops with sand and sea in the distance.
Stunning sunsets. Artwork is tasteful ; Internet worked very well.
Have used Vacasa before and always impressed with prompt responses to questions. We are seniors and often seem to have trouble with entertainment systems and various remotes. Vacasa is very good at walking us through problems.
Thank you for your compliments. We take pride in providing our guests with excellent service. I'm glad you enjoyed working with us!
We had a very relaxing visit. The view of the ocean from the deck was amazing. We were mostly fogged in the weekend we visited but I can imagine some pretty spectacular sunsets from this home. The sunken living room with the fireplace was great for conversations and watching some movies during rainy weather. The community this house is in was very quiet and peaceful. There are some local streets around the home, but we did not experience much traffic noise while we were there. Overall we were very happy with our stay here!
We appreciate your feedback. It's nice to hear that you made the most of a foggy weekend in the cozy living room. We hope you come back and visit again to see the sunset!
Retired couple. First vacation to the Oregon Coast. Spring break (mid-March). Got lucky with the weather--no rain. Went hiking most days and Waldport is a good jump-off point for trailheads as far south as Reedsport and the dunes, and as far north as Lincoln City. This house is comfortable and lived-in, has everything you need as a base camp. We appreciate things that work, and this house has that--heat works great, hot water works great, lights and switches, toilets, washer/dryer, stove-mw-dw-fridge all work well. These little things make for an easy complaint-free week. Fabulous sunset views of the ocean.
Thank you for sharing your great review. We are glad that your first visit to the beautiful Oregon coast turned out so well. Please come see us again when you return.
I was happy to discover the Vacasa website and find that I could book a beach house at the last minute instead of waiting to hear back from an owner like on other vacation rental sites. My only complaint was that I could not find what all the "fees" were for exactly and they actually ended up being more then the actual rate. But overall, the price was very reasonable. I was somewhat nervous because I could not find any reviews of this property on any sites which is usually a red flag to me. But we took the chance and everything was exactly like the pictures. I am guessing the house maybe wasn't rented out for a few years publicly and just recently started again judging by the guest book. The house is on a hill overlooking the water so the view is great and only a few blocks away from the beach. As with many beach homes the decor was outdated but the house itself was so unique, comfortable and well-maintained it didn't matter. It was fully stocked with anything we might need - even a piano! Most importantly, it was very clean (which I am pretty picky about) so at least those fees are going for something. We had a truly relaxing time on a stormy, January weekend with the fireplace and good local food from town. I would highly recommend this home for couples, families (although small children would make me nervous with the upstairs balcony) or friends.
