Recent Newport vacation rental reviews

The view was incredible from this unit! Very clean and great personal touches. I typically set my standards low for vacasa/turnkey units, but this one was impressive. Local team seems to be doing a great job! We hope to return soon!

We weren't expecting a palace and the place met all expectations. I reviewed heavily before booking and all of the other negative review items were taken care of or not as bad as folks made them out to be. Carpet and couches are worn to levels I'd expect of a beach rental. The space was much larger than the photos which was a nice surprise. Hot tub, towel qty, furnishings, cable, movies, ping pong table, etc were all in working order and good. There was new lock box that had a different code and 1 phone call got us in very quickly (10 min). The roadway/access is the worst part and needs addressing but that's a bigger street issue that I wouldn't expect a rental owner to be able to do cheaply. We had a good time, enjoyed the amenities, and saw how much they improved every item complained about. Couch replacement eventually along with carpet as they become worse is about the only thing I could see updating; maybe the garage door opener (have to hold down button to close but it worked).

This was the perfect house for us. Very comfortable and very function. Close enough to the food stores on Highway 101, but far enough away that it was very peaceful and quiet. The home was very clean and we loved it. We would definitely stay here again. The walk down to the Nye Beach area, which has a nice sandy beach, cafes, restaurants (Nan's Irish Pub was our favorite) and gift stores is not too far. We also walked down to the Newport bayfront area one day, which is a bit further, but is good exercise.

Things to do in Newport, OR

While many towns along the Oregon Coast boast jaw-dropping views, uncrowded sandy beaches, and fresh-from-the-boat seafood, Newport is special because of the diverse ways visitors can spend their time; this makes it especially well-suited to families.

Kids will love exploring the Oregon Coast Aquarium, home to a large number of well-curated exhibits, including giant Pacific octopus, seals, a seabird aviary, and even the ecosystem of shipwrecks. They might also enjoy visiting Mariner Square, home of a Ripley's Believe It or Not! and a wax museum. A visit to the home of Rogue Brewing, dinner at one of Newport's upscale bistros or seafood markets, or a stroll through the galleries of the artsy Nye Beach neighborhood will suit more grown-up tastes.
