Dog-Friendly, Oceanfront Cottage with WiFi, Firepit, Beach Trail

You'll be right near gorgeous Beverly Beach when you stay at this charming and dog-friendly, one-bedroom Otter Rock vacation rental. The Alpine Chalets community is a grouping of idyllic A-Frame style beach cottages with ocean views, an outdoor fire pit, cozy furnishings, and WiFi.

Just south of Depoe Bay and north of Newport, Otter Rock offers peaceful beaches away from the crowds and fuss. When you stay here, you can get away from it all at the scenic Oregon Coast, just steps from the sand!

On the inside of this cute and spotless Otter Creek retreat, classic wood paneling and hardwood floors give the interior a laid-back and comfortable vibe. Sit back in an easy chair for some TV (there's also cable and a VCR) or curl up with a good book on the sofa. There's also a stereo with a CD player so you can bring music from home.

Your Otter Rock getaway also has a full kitchen, so making anything from a bowl of popcorn to accompany movie night, to a platter of pancakes in the morning, to a pot of seafood stew after a long day exploring the beach, is easy as can be! When you need to clean up, just soak the dishes while you walk down to the beach and catch an amazing sunset! And be sure to pick up some marshmallows at the store to make s'mores after dinner.

The bedroom of this beach-side Alpine Chalet features a cozy queen sized bed, shabby-chic wall sconces for reading late into the night, and a dresser for storing clothes. Upstairs in the loft, you'll have another queen bed - perfect for kids or anyone who doesn't mind climbing up the steps, making this Otter Rock vacation cottage ideal for four guests (with a maximum occupancy of six). Your dogs are welcome to come on vacation as well (though a nightly fee per dog and a minimum fee per stay will apply).

There is also a full bathroom with a walk-in shower. Right from the living room, you'll have a peek at the ocean and when you want to head down to the sand, Beverly Beach is just a short walk away! This Otter Rock getaway is a wonderful way to spend a spring weekend or a whole week in the winter, you can storm watch right from the living room windows!

Whether you're planning a family vacation to the beach or even a romantic getaway for two, this Oregon Coast vacation rental offers a wonderful home-away-from-home right by the ocean's waves in lovely Otter Rock.

What a great location, the beach is a fun little hike from the cabin. Really comfortable beds. Nice people everywhere.
Danielle b. Jul 2022
The cabin was nice and clean and had been updated from what the pictures show so that was a nice surprise. There were a couple small issues, the blinds to the main window had been broken and the carpet on the stairs could be tacked down a little better. But all in all a nice place to stay Only 10 min drive to Newport. My family definitely enjoyed our stay and will be planning a trip back soon.
Jennifer H. Dec 2021
Great location, loved that the kitchen includes all the necessities. Problems: it took an hour to get the fridge to turn on, outlet on other side of kitchen needed reset. Shower wouldn’t drain. Very outdated and dirty- under couch was disgusting, spider webs all over and dusty, even simple things like a broken clock aren’t taken care of.
Lucas B. Nov 2021
For many years our family used to stay at the Alpine Chalets, but we haven’t been back in years. So, I was really excited to see that this cabin was available for rent on Vacasa. The cabin was just as I remembered (Including the same picture of a sea otter hanging on the back wall that has been there since the 90’s), however it clearly has not been updated or given the attention it needs. It was decent for a few days, but the whole experience would have been so much more enjoyable with a few modern updates and fixes.
Manager response:
Thank you, Lucas, for your feedback! We are happy you enjoyed this home. Please know that your feedback is essential, and we have passed your comments along to our local manager, who will work with the homeowner to make any updates. We genuinely hope to have the opportunity to impress you in the future!

Loved the location and easy access to the beach. Comfortable inside. Good WiFi.

I love being able to bring my dogs.
Lucy B. Aug 2021
This place was clean and beautiful. It was cheaper than staying in a hotel. And I did like that no one came into are rental while we stayed there. The only thing I did have an issue with is that they did not leave clean towels daily. We did ask for them and they were very accommodating to us. Will definitely bring staying at more locations.

Loved the views of the ocean and beach, the Chalet was clean and definitely comfortable. The whole stay was a wonderful experience for my mother and me for her mother's day weekend get away. Just wish the trip was longer! The grounds keeper is a really nice guy and very helpful. The place has an extremely beautiful landscape and back drop, coupled with cozy inside settings, comfortable beds, and a feeling of home away from home. It was easy to relax here and I plan to visit again!

It was clean and pleasant inside. The heater works well, which is a real plus at the Oregon coast!
Heather S. Feb 2021
The location is an easy commute to and from Newport, and has great access to the beach with a wide foot path that passes a fire pit and then several picnic tables. A bench is staged on the bluff and affords a perfect sunset viewing spot. Close to Devil’s Punch Bowl (and Mo’s Chowder). A relaxing experience all around. This unit has some street noise from 101, but for us, it was no bother.
Cliff B. Feb 2021
You could replace the broken mini-blinds hanging in the front window. It gives a poor first impression and lack of privacy. Other than that the place was charming.
Manager response:
Hi, Cliff! The blinds will be replaced as soon as possible. Thank you!
Keri F. Sep 2020
It was an ideal space for a couple and pup for a couple of days. It was very comfy and cozy and loved the quick walk down to the beach, and the nice wooded hang-out area. Just a couple of small complaints - the unit we stayed in didn't have a way to turn the light off on the ceiling fan while still keeping the fan on, and the light was a super bright cold color. Also - in a climate that is generally damp, more than 2 kitchen towels would be greatly appreciated! Also, like seemingly every rental, the shower drain needs snaking, it's very slow (hair snares are so easy and cheap, I don't know why more rentals don't use them). But we LOVED our time here and will likely be back!
Manager response:
Thank you for staying in the home! We are happy to hear you enjoyed your stay. We appreciate you bring some items to our attention that need some TLC. We take guest feedback seriously, and please know that our local staff is available to assist with any needs you may have while in the home. We hope you choose to stay with Vacasa again!

I Loved the Weather! The Beach was so great, it's super privet, no need to worry about social distancing here!!
The Cabin was SUPERCLEAN, I’m not sure what others Are talking about. The air-conditioning in the cabin worked wonderful, again, I’m not sure what others are talking about. We brought our two labradors and they love to run on the path through the woods down to the beach, it seems like you could run for miles On That beach! Next time we come we’re staying for A full week!
Great Stay!!!

We loved the location, which was the main reason we chose this place. It was Greta to walk down to the surfing beach from the house. The house itself needs updating. Upon arrival we we’re disappointed to find dirt and food on the floors/couches, counters, stove and in the freezer. When this was brought up to the property manager and Vacasa offered to have a housekeeper come over, which we opted out of as we had re-cleaned it already. They did reimburse half our cleaning fee. As vacation rental hosts ourselves, we were pretty frustrated to walk into a vacation rental after a long drive that was not cleaned well- especially during COVID and especially for the prices per night. Not sure if we would come back- May opt to camp. Overall 3/5 stay, 1/5 for cleanliness.
Manager response:
Thank you for your review, Caitlin. We apologize for the housekeeping issues you experienced. We understand how these clear and apparent cleanliness oversights were cause for discomfort and we have since taken thorough measures in ensuring our housekeeping teams are adhering to our premium clean protocol. We hope you will allow us the opportunity to provide you with a truly exceptional vacation experience in the future!

It's a beachy beach cabin and I love how comfortable it is!
You have a park like setting to have a picnic, and if we want to go down to the beach, we just follow the pathway through the woods. It is a beautiful setting! We have been going there for 7 years.
Aaron b. Jan 2020
It’s cute, simple, comfy. Nice location!
Andrea C. Dec 2019
Comfortable. Great kitchen everything we needed was there.
Elizabeth G D. Sep 2019
The rainy beach weather was perfect for a fun time in the cabin! Lots of room for such a small looking space. We will be back :)
Kathleen B. Sep 2019
I wanted my sister (who is new to the Oregon/Washington area), to be able to enjoy an off-season couple days exploring the Lincoln City and Newport areas. The trip was great! The cabin was perfect and she loved the area!
Andrea H. Aug 2019
Everything provided and enough room for 2 people.
Karisha S. Jul 2019
Enjoyed the short walk to the beach. Loved the cute A-Frame cabin - enough room for a family of four to spread out. Bathroom towels and basic toiletries available. Kinda noisy at our cabin since we were closer to road, but overall , I recommend
Marcos G. Jun 2019
We just stayed at the Alpine Chalet. We loved it. Cute private community. Private beach access. There was even a dog dish and clean-up bags for our dog! It was close to town and other activities. We will defiantly be coming back...but may need a different unit since more family wants to tag along!
Carmen O. May 2019
We found a piece of Heaven tucked-in into nature.

It took me back to my girl scouts era, when we camped at chalet like cabins and hiked down/up to the beach.

The only difference was that this time, I have a tiny detail of impediment to add. I wear a prosthesis on an amputated leg, and I am 5 decades older.

We didn't use the loft area. But we loved our stay on the first floor of #11

It was Samantha's 1st beach trip. Samantha is my fur missile baby. She is snuggly and sweet German shepherd dog.

My hubby is snuggly too. He was my shoulder to grab onto to walk down to and up from the beach.

He took pictures along the way, to prove that if I did it, you can do it better with your very own 2 stable legs.
The beach is very private. The chalet neighbors are very respectful. There is a 2 car parking per chalet.

Otter Rock is not far from Newport where you can shop for food in grocery stores or restaurants.

We had delicious grilled meats and veggies while we stayed in.

We enjoyed taking Sam to the park, and other beach accesses. We ate at our favorite restaurant in Newport. Gino's.

Gas stations in Newport are cheaper than in Lincoln city. So, we made a lot of trips into town.

The Chalets are in a such awesome central area, you can explore the coast one way or the other, no problem. In a car, on foot, motorcycle or bicycle.

I can't wait to reserve this place again!

We love the location the privacy that it provided was great. We love that it’s close to the beach.
Sarah J. Sep 2018
This place was just what we needed. A self sufficient spot just steps from the ocean.
Ron K. Sep 2018
3500 miles from home and total peace from the rat race. I really enjoyed my stay on the Pacific.
Crystal A. Jul 2018
It was very easy to check in. The kids loved staying in the loft. Nice beach access and picnic areas.
Angel R. Apr 2018
We enjoyed our long weekend. No issues with cleanliness in accessible areas. It is an older property and some of the furnishings are worn. Beds were very comfortable. Beware of low ceiling beams in the loft area. We would definitely stay here again
Stephanie B. Apr 2018
It had everything our family of four needed! It was cozy, but laid out really well. Access to the beach was fantastic for kids & dog - we loved our weekend and will definitely stay again.
Tonya M. Sep 2017
Filthy. There are much better places to stay for the price
Xiaojie D. Sep 2017
a cabin very clean and cosy for weekend gettaway. Tons of kids activities near by.

bring your key with you all the time, otherwise you may accidentally lock yourself out.
Patrick F. Aug 2017
I was a bit worrried after seeing some reviews online but the Alpine Chalets were perfect for my wife and I on a Oregon vacation. They are not fancy or modern, but if you are looking for an cozy A-frame that hasn't changed in decades then this is for you! No issues with cleanliness, bedding all clean, etc. Not only was the chalet great, but the location was better than I imagined. We spent most of our time wandering the beach at the end of the magical path. Great spot for morning stroll, lazy sunny day, and especially to take in the sunset. We'll be back, Otter Rock!
Jennifer H. Aug 2017
I really loved how cute this place is. But it needs a lot of work before I would go back. Updating the furnishings would help tremendously. Most everything needs work. And more comfortable places to sit and sleep. CLEANING!! Loved the area and view! Price is a lil high for how dirty it was. Had to wash dishes before we used them. But we all had fun despite all that.
Gerry B. Aug 2017
The cabin was very rustic, but beautifully situated. Very reasonable for being steps away from the ocean.
Erin J. Jul 2017
Good place to stay, but no front desk staff and the Vacasa folks were not helpful as they were not on site and therefore unable to help with questions. Great beach access
Maureen D. Jul 2017
No frills, great value, just what we needed.
Erik W. Jul 2017
This place is great. The walk to the beach was quick and the beach was nice and quiet.
Stacey B. Jun 2017
The cozy cone cabins are surrounded by beauty. Had a couple hick ups but would not deter me from staying here again. Staff is friendly and helpful. Trail to the beach and wooded area is amazing.
Megan R. Jun 2017
We had a great visit to the Otter Rock area. The #11 Chalet where we stayed was in a perfect location, close to a beautiful big beach and very family friendly! The chalet is quite spare but has all of the necessities, plenty of room for the three of us. We will likely visit again, we may try one of the other chalet's as we heard they vary quite a bit. There is so much to see and do within a short drive from Otter Rock!
Elaine S. Apr 2017
Great space for the price - close to the beach although it is a bit of a climb. Kitchen well stocked, internet strong, tv cable great. Upstairs loft spacious and overall pretty quiet for being so close to 101. Great location, lots of exploring with the tide pools, devil's punchbowl, and Newport/Depoe Bay both nearby.
Shelbi J. Apr 2017
We had a great stay and are looking forward to vacationing here again.
Alexandra C. Mar 2017
I am a fan
Camille S. Jan 2017
I have been coming to Alpine Chalets since 1970. It has always been a favorite. But since the units were turned into condos, there have been issues with the units. During this stay we had the whole family and stayed in units #8 and #11. No. 8 has a roll of wet moldy paper towels under the sink that made the whole unit stink. Unit 11 had cleaning issues and a serious mold odor. There was a bad heater in the living room that was exceedingly hot and scorched the end table. That was very unsafe. General maintenance and cleaning are needed in both units and this message needs to be brought to the owners attention.
Manager response:
A leak under the sink has been fixed that will take care of the moldy towel issue. We apologize this was a problem at all for these guests. The heater in this unit has been brought to the attention of the owner. Thanks!
Elizabeth C. Dec 2016
I would stay here again
Camille A. Nov 2016
Always a great time there.
Berneice T. Sep 2016
Great place to stay. Prices are great.
Joel N. Aug 2016
The trail leading down to the beach is nice, unit smells old and musty, our wash cloths needed replacing, they were tattered and turned brownish when wet, it's defiantly a place to just sleep!
Valerie H. Aug 2016
Nice cozy place to stay. Great for the price.
Adelia T. Jul 2016
This place was great and inexpensive
Cody S. Jul 2016
What a place. We went for our honeymoon and couldn't be happier! The beds seemed new and very comfortable. Everything worked. It was clean and very lovely! Will definitely be coming back over and over again!
Doug & Lisa H. May 2016
Our first visit was very pleasant, looking forward to coming back.
Alison F. Apr 2016
This unit is in extremely poor condition. Furniture, fridge are ratty/stained. Fan doesn't work. Several light bulbs out. There was no sponge or dishcloth to wash dishes - only two dish towels were provided. The beds only had sheets and cheap scratchy bed spreads. There were no blankets. The unit was far from clean. It also sits right next to the freeway. Good thing it has access to a beautiful beach and the weather was wonderful, so no need to spend much time inside.
Paula S. Apr 2016
Overall, it was a good place to stay & we will be back, good central location to the activities we wanted.
Cheryl S. Mar 2016
It is a quiet place close to the beach; the units are roomy and the cost very reasonable. We had the misfortune to have a dirty living room/dining area, however, we have also stayed here before and cleanliness was not a problem.
Layla L. Jan 2016
We got there late New Years Eve and wanted to take a nap after traveling several hours after work before the ball dropped. We spent almost TWO hours cleaning the place before we could even unpack the car. The floors were unswept and not mopped, the shower wasn't cleaned, the counters were not wiped down, there was food under the burners, cob webs with in reach of a broom, pillows with out pillow cases. Hair all over the sheets... Blinds that were destroyed... I could go on..
I chose not to call on NYE since it was so late and I didn't want to wait for someone to get there and ruin their night... I would not have been nice upon their arrival.
Regardless, I got a tip. If you are unhappy with the cleanliness of the unit, call immediately!
And if #10 is available, TAKE IT!!!!
Manager response:
Thank you for sharing your review with us. We sincerely apologize that the home had not been cleaned prior to your arrival. Housekeeping has been followed-up with so we can prevent this from happening in the future. We hope you enjoyed the great beach access!
Tonya P. May 2015
The location of these Otter Rock Chalets is perfect for taking in the stretch of beach between Devil's Punchbowl and Newport. Miles of perfect sand and not another soul in sight! My children (ages 8 & 6) and I enjoyed 4 days of tranquility, kite flying, tide-pool exploring, sand castle building and taking in the natural beauty of the surrounding area and wildlife. We spotted seals, sea lions, bald eagles, whales, peregrine falcons (and their brood of babies!), as well as explored Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area, Newport, Seal Rock Beach, Cape Foulweather and Devil's Punchbowl. You can't beat the rugged coastline's stark beauty or the sound of the ocean for pure unadulterated relaxation.

#11 Chalet has one bedroom and a loft with a queen bed - some probably love sleeping on a cloud of softness, but I found the master bed far too squishy, no support at all. The kids loved the loft, especially their peek-a-boo view of the ocean from the window. There's limited kitchen utensils, but no dishwasher, so I'd recommend bringing paper plates to cut down on the time spent washing up. There's also no washer/dryer in the unit. Since we spent every day at the beach and inevitably ended up getting wet and sandy, it was challenging to get anything dry without these appliances. I ended up spreading wet pants on the dash of my car to dry them in the heat of the afternoon sun.

Overall we had a tremendously enjoyable time at Otter Rock. Other units probably don't have as much road noise from Hwy 101, but as #11 backs right up to the road, it was pretty loud at night. The car noise drowned out the beautiful sound of the ocean.
Jennifer B. May 2015
The cabin was perfect for our family. It's a perfect location outside of Newport: not to far and close enough to quickly go to the store. We loved the walk to the beach. We will definitely come back!!
Tina H. Mar 2015
I really liked my Place and the needs were the most comfortable I have probably ever slept on.
Gail D. Mar 2015
Stay in #5 not 11
Manager response:
We are so pleased that you love the Alpine Chalets! Thanks for staying with us!
Erin J. Aug 2014
We really enjoyed our stay at the alpine chalet. It's very near the beach and had a very relaxed feel. It was very quiet and the beach was beautiful. It felt very secluded and we very much enjoyed the sunsets.
