Everything was wonderful. The river by the house was so nice!! Couldn’t have picked a better spot to have a vacation for a few days.
Deanna O. Aug 2021
House was well maintained and clean. Loved being so close to the river and so many trails for hiking. House was pretty well appointed with some strange gaps (only two wine glasses, no microwave, no towel hooks in the main bathroom), but overall we found what we needed and had a good stay.
Manager response:
Hi, Deanna! We are pleased to hear your stay was enjoyable. We appreciate your valuable feedback. We are always here to assist our guests during their stay. We hope to host you soon!

We loved the location and private deck overlooking the creek. The king beds were very comfortable. The laundry room was very handy and the washer/dryer work well. The bathroom hot tub was nice. We stayed for 2 weeks.
Our biggest dissatisfaction was the Mildew/Mold smell that was difficult to eliminate. The lower level was unbearable except for the bathroom. Other than that and some cleaning/maintenance issues we had a nice stay. The ZigZag mountain cafe and Inn provided some nice dining in close proximity to the house.
Manager response:
Hi, Jeff! We do apologize if the odor you experienced was upsetting; it is due to the location of the property. Hopefully we can better impress you next time!

Well appointed house that is great for families. No A/C and no Microwave but certainly has everything else you’d need to enjoy your stay near Mt Hood.

This is a nice property in a great location for Mt Hood activities. The property has not been kept up as it should.

Positively, the kitchen equipment is excellent for a rental. Beds/linens were good. The washer and dryer were very good and a godsend. Location very quiet and private.

For the issues with upkeep:
- The single handle kitchen faucet cannot be controlled for hot or cold water (most of the time you get cold, sometimes hot).
- Packaging tape was attempted to hold airflow registers in place (didn't work).
- Blue painters tape is used to try and secure some screens in windows.
- There is a dangerous 1" gap in the rise between the steps to the deck and the deck that we tripped on at least once.
- The deck is slanted and separating from the house.
- The dining room pleather chairs are in desperate need of re-upholstery (no longer have pleather on them).
- The deck needs repainting.
- The main double/glass entry door from the deck needs some attention. The latch plate is bent to force the door to latch/lock but it's unusual, you cannot close the door behind you without turning the handle.
- The floor in one of the bedrooms was sticky (needed cleaning).
- The lower floor/basement smelled strongly of mold.
- There were dead insects in multiple window sills.
- There is a barrage of remote controls for TV/Tivo, etc. However most of the batteries are dead, there are no directions, and you can watch pretty much only what is already recorded to Tivo.
- There are two full stoves but no microwave.
- Indoor window sills need repainting.
- There are lightbulbs out in various rooms.
- Bathroom bulb over shower, tub, and some over the sinks are out.

We attempt to reach out to Vacasa prior to posting this information. Didn't get a response.

The location is great. The property needs help. This is our first Vacasa rental disappointment.
Manager response:

My girlfriends did our annual summer trip at Azalea Breeze this year & we loved it! More than once we commented on how it felt like we were in a tree house. The deck is beautiful. The house is so surrounded by trees that you can barely see the houses nearby. It feels very private.

The downstairs has a huge amount of space with nothing in it, which we assume is for ski equipment, but we were there in the summer so we dreamed of what else could go there, like a seating area, dance floor or more games (there is a Foosball table). It could host an epic slumber party if you brought your own air mattresses.

We loved being able to drive to nearby Government Camp & we also spent an afternoon at Trillium Lake.

Wonderful house, wonderful trip!

Beautiful location
Open floor plan
Patio that makes you feel like you're in a tree house
Comfortable beds
All the kitchen tools you could need (except microwave)
Plenty of towels & sheets & pillows

Didn't love:
Stairs leading to home a little shaky & rickety
Downstairs had a musty smell (it is in the forest, so it wasn't surprising or overpowering, just noticeable)
Dining chairs had faux leather finish flaking off each one

We had such a wonderful time!
Highly recommend!

We had a great time, loved the jet tub & fireplace

We had an absolutely wonderful time staying here. The creek/river is right below the overhanging deck, and drowns out any noise from the neighbors. We loved the huge deck and awesome nature vibes. We really enjoyed the open area downstairs to play drinking games and have fun. The upstairs was super cozy to have quality hang out time. Upstairs we would grill delicious meals and make fun charcuterie boards. Its a very family based cabin vibe so don't go in with expectations of a super upscale boujee place, but the family cabin vibe is exactly what we wanted. Would definitely recommend to people that know how to enjoy good company with family/friends. Would be a 5 star except for nitpicky things. But i am very confused why anyone would rate below 3 stars as this place is pretty much exactly what it says. Just a place to get outdoors put the electronics away and enjoy the good vibes of the company you brought with you. Only sad we didn't stay longer, our group was very sad to leave.

We loved staying here! It was so nice hearing the stream out back while on each of the two porches! Beds were very comfortable.:) The only negative would be that there was no microwave and downstairs could use some furniture.:) But, we would love to stay here again!

Great lay out, updates appliances, awesome view of the river(nice surprise)

We had a great time, place was clean, located in a private area. Wish there was more lightning outside. A microwave would be also nice. Overall worth the stay. Would return!

We had a wonderful stay at the cabin! Was perfect for our stay, plenty of room and close to the ski/snowboard resorts! Some of the surfaces could use a deep clean (top of fridge, under beds etc.) but ita a cabin so, didn't change our experience.

Also, would he cool if there was some furniture downstairs but the open space was nice too.

Would stay again!

My family and I rent several houses a year and this is by far the worst. Started with no key to get in when we arrived. The house had a very strange odor. Very shotty remodel/ repair jobs throughout the house. Dried on food in the “washed” pots and pans. Old food left in the oven. 2 kitchen towels in the entire house. No extra paper towels or garbage bags, 1 extra roll of toilet paper. Worst part is the heat went out in the middle of the night. Vacasa was very responsive to this. Someone came out and brought us a space heater and the propane tank was being filled about 3-4 hours later. However the electric in the house is awful. Plugged the heater they brought us in and turned it on. About 20 minutes later I smelt something weird. The plug-in was smoking and melted. Almost started a fire in the wall. Overall the worst experience I’ve ever had renting a house. Would never stay here again.
Manager response:
Hi, Monica! We appreciate your feedback and are so disappointed you were unhappy with your experience. The heat and outlet have both been repaired. The bottom floor only has a hockey table, no furniture. We have asked housekeeping to please check the pots and pans between each guest and leave enough supplies. The photos of the home are up-to-date. Thank you!

I cannot begin to say enough great things about this home. My friend and I just had a four night stay and we couldn't have been more thrilled. I will say that when we arrived, we were a bit road weary and it was dark and raining so we had much more trouble than we normally would have locating the property, but if you pay very close attention to the directions given to find the turn you need to make, it's actually very easy and you feel so silly for having missed it. Haha.

We cooked about 3 out of the 4 days we were there and the kitchen was fully stocked to meet our needs. We had forgotten there was no microwave, but we were able to make do without one.

The beds were beyond comfortable, as were the couches. The comfort level of everything was out of this world--don't even get me started on the jetted tub. I have not felt more relaxed in years. They have candles set up on the sides of the tub and if you're short like I am, you're able to have a full lie down as the sound of the river can be heard outside the window. Relaxing isn't even the word to describe it, it was heavenly.

The air hockey table was a nice amenity and we made sure to play a few games. The downstairs is sparse, but it didn't bother us as every amenity we needed was upstairs. I'm sure we were a touch more easy to please because there were just the two of us, so we had relatively no need for the downstairs, other than the use of the 2nd bathroom if necessary.

The neighborhood was quiet and the property feels a bit more isolated than it is, so if you're looking for a place to turn off the noise of this year and get away from it all as we did--I couldn't recommend this home more. It was everything we needed and more.

My only recommendation would be to get a microwave as they are just so common in every home and it works better for quick on the go meals, but like I said, I was able to work around it.

In conclusion, this home was wonderful and gave us a sense of comfort that I hadn't been expecting. I'm certain we will be back.

I just spent 5 wonderful days at this charming home. This is my second stay and I loved it even more on the second visit. The decks overlooking (and overhearing) the rushing creek are the highlight for me. Great space, plenty of room for a family, and comfortably furnished. The only drawback for me is that pets are not allowed (Although I completely understand why). My pups would love it! Will be back in the spring...
Julian W. Aug 2020
Loved the spacious house and epic view from the huge deck. I honestly never wanted to leave.

I had a wonderful, albeit brief stay this past weekend and it was perfect! Disregard the negative reviews. I have rented quite a number of properties from Vacasa on Mt. Hood over the years and this one is one of the best! I felt instantly comfortable and at home. Will definitely go back. I wish I was sitting on the upper deck right now listening to the rushing of the water...

WiFi not on for 1/3 of our stay. Since there’s no phone service that was a problem. The water appeared to be filtered but it made me gag so I’d recommend bringing your own. House was nice enough after a sweep of the deck. Gorgeous views. We saw a bobcat off the deck! So cool. Loved the tub and location was close enough to town (convenient since we had to drive in to make calls and buy water).
Manager response:
Hi Laura, thank you for your review. We apologize for the issues regarding the WiFi. This has been fixed and the WiFi is working as normal. We hope to have the opportunity to host you again soon!

When we arrived at night we were not using the correct lockbox because it was not easily visible and had to call for assistance. After we threw out the first bag of trash we found that there were no other garbage bags. The propane ran out the last night we were there. The heater stopped working and the house became very cold. We were told they would get the propane filled back up, but we never heard back and nothing got resolved by time we left the next evening. When we went to start a fire to heat the house there was only fire wood and matches to start a fire. There was no fire starting supplies or fire poker/tools to maintain the fire. There is no microwave in the house.
Manager response:
Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your stay, Trevor. We are sorry to see you found it mostly disappointing. The location of the lockboxes is noted in the email sent out to our guests, and we apologize if this was not helpful for you. We have followed up with our team regarding the trash bags and checking the propane. We sincerely apologize for the oversight, especially with the propane, and can confirm the tank has been refilled. The fireplace is not an advertised amenity, so we do not keep supplies on hand for its use. We hope to have another chance to impress you in the future.

Very quick response about questions whiling staying. The house is exactly what I see from the website, very clean, comfortable space.

Very Clean

The water and trees make the most relaxing sounds from the deck or anywhere in the house. Quiet street with a cute places close by for coffee, and food. Clean place with everything we needed for a family of 5!
Huiqi W. May 2019
Very nice view outside the balcony! Comfortable place for family or small group of friends. Was difficult to find the place at night since the house entrance is actually behind the garage, in the woods. But overall pleasant experience!

We loved our stay!!! Some highlights were: the view and sound of the running river! Wow!!! Was not expecting that. We also loved all the original artwork in the home. 👏🏻 We loved the air hockey table. The beds were super comfy. Some things could have made our stay a little better: A MICROWAVE would have been nice and more convenient. The downstairs area could have been a bit more inviting (seating, etc.) A few more extra blankets in closets as well as a few of the blinds repaired would be appreciated. All in all, it was great and met our needs sufficiently.

Need a microwave, spices, towel racks in bathrooms, and large mirrors in bedrooms for sharing bathroom time. Great house, warm, spacious, comfy beds.

After reading the other reviews we were a bit concerned but this house was the only one not booked the weekend we were traveling that would work for the four adults and two kids in our group. We were pleasantly surprised to find that the four star review was much more representative of what we experienced. To address the concerns in the previous one star review:
1) Bathroom doors didn’t lock - no locks, but they did close. They have antique door knobs so some of them in the house were a bit wonky and had to be turned a certain way, but nothing that wasn’t solved with a towel jammed beneath the door if we were concerned.
2) No microwave - correct, but it wasn’t listed in the add so we weren’t surprised.
3) No kettle to heat up water for tea - there was a kettle and a coffee pot, we used the coffee pot to heat up water.
4) Not enough larger pans for cooking - we didn’t have this problem and we cooked A LOT while there.
5) old and outdated home. Too much for the price - it’s old, but outdated seems a bit harsh. The price seemed reasonable to us considering everyone else was booked or had jacked up their prices.

The only other concerns/observations we had that could help future visitors plan for their trip:
1. No landline, great WiFi though!! Just plan accordingly 😊
2. The lower area is open and has no seating or furniture (which was great for us because #toddlersberunning)
3. There is an ice maker in the fridge and a blender! 😊
4. The lower bedroom stays fairly dark during the day so it worked great for naptime 👍🏻
5. AWESOME location and views!!
6. Only ~six minutes from welches and easy to find (just look for the sign on the tree and a garage, you won’t see the house)
7. It’s easier to go through the French doors rather than through the garage. Just FYI 😊
8. Owner was very quick to respond!

Anyhow we had a great stay overall and all of us thought the rating on here was a bit low for what we experienced. Could be due to the owner improving things based on feedback which is pretty cool in my book 😊

1) Bathroom doors didn’t lock.
2) No microwave.
3) No kettle to heat up water for tea.
4) Not enough larger pans for cooking.
5) old and outdated home. Too much for the price.
Manager response:
We appreciate our guest leaving a review for us. The bathroom doors have old antique locks, and to replace them would require installing new doors. We will discuss the possibility of adding the mentioned kitchen items to the inventory. Thank you!

Nice house, Fantastic deck! Overlooks a stream and thick forest. You can't see the neighboring houses, even though you know they are right there. The main level is nice, the basement is sparse, but not unkempt. The kitchen served our crew of four guys easily. We mainly chose this house for close access to several mountain biking trails, but were pleasantly surprised by the amenities and, once again, great deck!
