Located just a few miles south of Lincoln City in the quiet community of Gleneden Beach, this home enjoys a less-crowded stretch of coastline and extremely easy beach access just 50 feet down the road. Within a 15-minute stroll you can reach a nice park and a few businesses, including the well-loved Side Door Cafe. Additionally, Depoe Bay and Lincoln City are nearby, so you won't have to go far to find more attractions.
This two-bedroom (with bonus room), two-bathroom home is perched right next to the ocean, and you can enjoy unbeatable views from inside or outside. Sit in the living room and gaze out the large windows to see the sparkling ocean, or open up the sliding glass door and listen to the roar of the waves.
The living room is the perfect place for everyone to gather, whether you want to chat while the gas fireplace flickers, watch some cable TV, or use the DVD player for a family movie night. You will also have WiFi access here, though you may be content to simply watch the waves roll in and out or try to catch a glimpse of the whales that migrate along the coastline.
This is a single-level home, so even guests who may have mobility issues or trouble with stairs will be very happy here. Next to the living area is a large, open kitchen and a dining space. The full kitchen is well-appointed with all the appliances and cooking tools you may need to prepare meals during your stay. If you happen to go fishing or crabbing from nearby Depoe Bay, you can cook up your catch in this kitchen and enjoy a wonderfully fresh seafood dinner!
Just down the hall are two full bathrooms, each with a tub/shower combo which means you can choose between a quick, refreshing shower and a luxurious bubble bath. One bathroom has a laundry area, so there's no need to worry if your clothes happen to get a little wet and sandy while exploring the nearby beach.
When it's time to rest up for another day of vacationing, you and your guests will have plenty of sleeping spaces to choose from. The bedrooms each feature a bright color scheme and a comfortable queen-size bed, and a futon in the living room provides another place for guests to sleep soundly.
Up to eight people are welcome to stay here, and you can even bring two dogs with you - though a nightly fee per dog and minimum fee per stay will apply. A grassy yard area outside is a great place for your beloved dogs to sniff around, and, of course, they will love to run around the nearby beach with you!
A back deck off the living room is an ideal place for everyone to sit and admire the fabulous ocean views. You will especially love to watch the spectacular sunsets over the horizon. And, since the beach is just a one-minute walk away, you and your guests can take morning jogs through the fog, build sandcastles, beachcomb, fly kites, or simply stroll along and marvel at the beauty of nature.
When you're ready to explore the area, you can drive either north or south to find adventures. If you head south, stop for a picnic lunch at Boiler Bay Wayside on your way to the fantastic, small town of Depoe Bay, which is known as the whale-watching capital of the coast. Peruse the shops, get some fresh caramel corn, have lunch at the Sea Hag, and maybe even book a trip on a whale-watching or fishing expedition. If you continue south to the larger Newport, you will find a world-class aquarium and a huge variety of restaurants and shopping.
North just a few miles from your beach house is the popular Lincoln City, along with its wonderful casino, outlet mall, souvenir shops, and fantastic restaurants ranging from seafood to authentic Mexican cuisine. Walk along the busier beaches and fly kites, take a scenic trip to nearby Devils Lake, or venture out of town to find hiking and biking trails galore.
Gleneden Beach may be a small town, but you will find plenty of nearby activities to keep busy! Start with a nice lunch of salmon cakes or a shrimp melt at the Side Door Cafe, get a tarot card reading at the nearby Crystal Wizard shop, then head north a mile to the Salishan Resort, where you can enjoy a round of golf or book a spa treatment. Gleneden Beach has an annual Fourth of July Parade, and you can watch Lincoln City's firework display right from the comfort of your beach house!
