Great house. Really big rooms with lots of extra beds and space for kids. Grassy area is great for games and kids running around, the beach is very small, and dock not ideal to swim off of because it sits so high out of the water. But the boat lift was great. We will stay again.

This cabin is located in a perfect spot. The lake is right outside and access is extremely easy! We were able to bring out boat and use the boat lift. The log cabin is beautiful. Plenty of room and the living area was wonderful for our whole family to gather in.
There is some deferred maintenance that would be nice to be improved upon (porch cleaning, overall cleanliness, and upkeep). Also, one thing we did not take into consideration or realize was that there is no AC. The fans were helpful, but because of the terrible smokey air, we couldn’t open up windows as much as we needed and had to leave early. Smoke is obviously not the fault of the cabin, but AC would have saved us. Just something to be aware of in the middle of summer!

Everything was just perfect! It felt like we were stepping into our own little family summer bunker leaving the rest of the world behind.
The home was clean, but cozy and welcoming. Everything we needed was right there, including kitchen items, beach towels, fans for the bedrooms, etc. Plenty of room for all of us ages 7 - 75 and never a dull moment between playing on the lake, hiking on Schweitzer, and milling around the little stores in Sandpoint.

This house would be great if they did any maintenance..mouse droppings, dirty appliances, light bulbs out, sheets not cleaned well or checked for hair....hot tub was mildewy. Really disappointed..

Stayed with a few friends and everyone’s kids ages 1-1/2 to 10. House was much bigger than expected and all the rooms were HUGE! Plenty of space for family with young kids to share rooms.
Hot tub was awesome overlooking the lake, and for after dipping in to warm up after an early morning ski. Grass right from the cabin to the lake was perfect for games and hanging out. The dock worked great for us and our ski boat. The dock sits pretty high off the water (about 5 ft.) and there’s a lift for your boat. The water is shallow around the dock, so not that great for swimming around or jumping off the dock. But great for fishing off of and hanging out.
Also the actual beach area for kids to play is really small, still nice and soft sand, but just a very narrow patch of sand going into the water next to the dock. The grassy area makes up for the lack of beach. Will be booking again for next summer and possibly this winter since it has the hot tub!

The structure of the home itself is pretty impressive, and great for playing hide and seek. The location was amazing with access to put our kayaks on the lake from the back yard. Kitchen had everything we needed and bathrooms and bedrooms were stocked and cleaned.
The whole place does feel like it needs some TLC in the cleaning of windows, door frames, outside areas, dock, etc. It's on the lake, so bugs are expected but the buildup of dead bugs was a little gross. The outside areas have great potential, but without a resident on site, it's starting to look a little neglected.
Overall, we had a great stay and thoroughly enjoyed our time!

Hi-we had a great trip and there are a few things we want you to know.
2 wine glasses in the dishwasher were cracked when we arrived
It would be helpful to let people know the correct lockbox is on a pillar opposite the front door.
The hot tub was green and smelled mildewy. We are hot tub owners and found shock chemicals and used those. It would be helpful to have instructions for how the owners would like the tub cared for, particularly when it is out of balance.
There appear to be snakes living under the hot tub.
The boat lift has a piece that is bent and loose and it was that way when we arrived. More instructions on how they’d like the lift used would also be helpful.
There are quite a few mice. One was in a trap when we arrived but there was also mouse poop on the kitchen counters every morning and also in boxes of food we put in the pantry, along with holes where they had gotten into food. While we did our best to put all food away, they still seemed to find a way in. Again, it would have saved us throwing out food if we had known it needed to be stored in closed hard plastic containers.

The location is great and lake view is beautiful. There is a private dock and boat lift. We made outdoor fires and enjoyed the hot tub. Beds are comfortable plenty of room for our two families in the log home. It does need updating inside and outside to make it 5 stars. The dishwasher does not work well and dishes are not fully cleaned.

The house is gorgeous, well built, and has everything you would want in a vacation home. The hot tub was great with a beautiful view of the lake and mountains, the fireplace made the common space very cozy, and the kitchen was well appointed. Beds were comfortable and the house is convenient to the ski resort for both alpine and nordic skiing. Also, there are some great waterfalls and other sights to see in the area. We'd stay here again if we came back to the area.

We were a group of seven, looking to stay in a nice place near Schweitzer for a reasonable price during Christmas break.
This place was perfect. It is a true log-cabin, giving the whole crew a VERY vibe from the first 10 seconds we walked in.
The living room and the lake are the biggest selling features, but there's a lot more. The bedrooms are well-sized, the kitchen was highly functional (we cooked EVERY meal here), the hot tub is the right size and location for warm soaks after skiing.
In addition, the Vacasa team was incredibly responsive to our needs ("Help! We're out of firewood!") and the location was PERFECT. Close enough to town to make groceries easy, and far enough from town to hear ABSOLUTE silence at night.

A group of 7 stayed here in early Dec. The home was spacious and very unique, and well stocked. Our son really loved the kids room with all the toys. Could probably use some updates to bedding/mattresses, and some of the furnishings. Vacasa property manager was awesome, did a great job of answering any questions, getting things we needed/wanted and taking care of small issues quickly. Hot tub was nice, we would return.

We, the grandparents, rented the cabin for a reunion with our kids and grandkids. It's a fantastic location and a great house for a group our size. The house is showing a little wear and tear from its age and probably its popularity, but it was very comfortable and we had a great time. Because it's in a relatively calm bay, I would suggest either renting a boat or having kayaks. Some days we felt a little landlocked, but that would be the case with any rental where you're lakeside without a boat. Would definitely rent this again if the opportunity arises.
