This house is very spacious with a nice open layout and a great view of sunsets over the bay and Provincetown. However, it suffers from some serious maintenance issues stemming from neglect. There were too many issues to list here but the most egregious problems we had were 1) a leaky ceiling dripping water onto our bed (granted it was during Hurricane Ida), 2) multiple leaking doorways leading to wet rugs, 3) a broken sink drain leaking water directly onto the floor, 4) a beat up, barely functioning dishwasher, and 5) a broken side entry door lock to the kitchen (really inexcusable). There were so many broken appliances and missing or dead light bulbs that it was always a mystery when we flipped a switch.

The kitchen and main part of the house were actually quite nice and seemingly updated recently along with modern split AC units in every room. The beds were okay but not great. The other furnishings were a bit ragtag and the outside was a total overgrown mess complete with broken hot tub and discarded kitchen sink as detailed by other reviewers. The outdoor hose and shower didn't work and the backyard fence was broken under the deck so our dog could easily escape.

As others have mentioned, the dirt road leading to the house is in terrible shape and not really suitable for a non-truck, jeep, or SUV. There is no access to a beach or even a road leading to a beach, which seem to all be private here anyway.

While the house functioned well enough for us, it seemed a bit of a shame to see it in this state because it has a lot of potential that could be achieved with some basic care (new roofing, fixing entry doorways, new dishwasher, some yard cleanup and landscaping). But right now it feels more like a place that twenty college kids would crash in over spring break rather than a luxury getaway for an extended family.

Layout of the house was great and the kitchen was large and comfortable for groups. The outside needs much to be desired. Unsafe furniture and landscaping badly needed. A little improvement would go a long way.
Manager response:
Hi, Bonner. Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We are glad you overall enjoyed your stay and we appreciate your suggestions for improvement. Outside furniture is inspected before every reservation and it is completely safe to use. Outside landscaping has been suggested to the owner. We hope we can host you again soon!

Overall we did very much enjoy our stay at Bayview. Lots of room for our family of 7 to stretch out and have their own spaces. The kitchen was nicely stocked, complete with wine fridge. Plenty of table space and chairs to accommodate large family meals. The second fridge in the basement was a nice touch. Most rooms (including bedrooms) had air conditioning units that were robust and individually programmable. We used all deck spaces early and often, which provided great views and relaxing hangout time.

That being said, we did note some issues. The grounds remain deeply overgrown and unmaintained (making virtually no progress from the June 2020 review). Securing the yard fencing would provide peace of mind for fellow dog owners. One of the smaller bedrooms does not have air conditioning. One of the full baths has a double sink fixture that feels like it's about to fall out of the wall. A little TLC would make Bayview really sparkle.

Manager response:
Hello Brian, we appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. We’re delighted that you and your family had a wonderful stay overall and enjoyed the home. With that said, we sincerely apologize for the issues impacting your stay and for any resulting inconvenience. Please know that we put a high emphasis on presentation and the comfort of our guests and that we take this feedback seriously. The owner has since performed lawn maintenance, but there are no plans to add a fence at this time due to frequent storms that come through the area. To clarify, there are six thermostats throughout the home for guests to adjust to their comfort as each unit has a split AC and the home has central AC as well. Rest assured that the local manager has inspected the sink and found to to be secure, the look is simply the style of the sink fixture. We will continue to work with our local teams to make improvements as needed for future guests. We look forward to hosting you again for another memorable family getaway!

The home is large and has a lot of great spaces. It is especially good if you are traveling with a large family or two families, as there is private space galore. When we arrived, it looked like the home was just slept in and not cleaned. The beds were made and there were folded towels, but some had stains on them. The kitchen utensils were filthy - stuck on egg on the spatula, dust on the mugs. The deck needs some reinforcing and there are building materials all around the property. The grill was really gross and there was no propane. We called, were told that a propane tank would be dropped off the next day and never received another call or the propane tank. In summary, it is a great family home, but needs some love from its owners. Also, not really beach accessible.
Manager response:

We apologize for the oversight regarding the cleanliness. We have passed along your feedback to the local housekeeping staff and manager so they are aware of your comments. This house appears to have been partially renovated but it still needs A LOT of work done both inside and outside. We were extremely shocked and upset when we drove up to the house. The exterior of the house is a complete mess. The backyard is a disgrace. I wish I could attach pictures to explain what a junkyard it is. There is literally a broken hot tub, an old kitchen sink and a large industrial table with junk on it in the backyard. There's a junk pile of wood in the driveway. The whole yard and back patio are overgrown with weeds. There are beer cans and cigarette butts all over the ground. The backyard patio was completely unusable. We didn't even want to go on the deck to watch the sunset because you were forced to look at the junkyard patio below. The deck furniture was either broken or too dirty to use. The balcony felt very unsafe. The supporting beams are way too far apart to be supportive. I can't imagine that it's up to code. The spiral staircase leading up to the new deck is very dangerous. It has large gaps in the railings which would be extremely unsafe for a small child. The lock on the exterior door (in kitchen) was broken so we could not lock the door which did not make us feel safe at all. All of the furniture and furnishings appear to have been purchased from tag sales. The house is cluttered with lots of used stuff like old musty books and DVDs. The comforters on the beds don't even match the bed size. Some of the kitchen utensils and pots were in the drawers dirty. By the way, there's no beach access which was not clear from the house description. You can see the water through the trees from the top deck but the house is not close to the water.
The positive things about the house were the numerous wall mounted A/C units and the newly renovated kitchen and bathrooms.

Manager response:

We loved our stay. Very large, spacious home with enough room to easily accommodate everyone (even several TVs, so the kids could watch their own shows in another room). Private, and 5 min to the beach or 10 to P-town. And the nightly sunsets flooding the dining room or seen from the second floor deck are priceless. We love the place!
