PSA: Here are the actual directions to the property:
1. Parking is immediately behind/up against the flower shop (it is not straight back as instructed; that’s for a different rental unit).
2. The property is up the street from where you park. You will need to turn left out of the parking lot, walk past another home (this sidewalk is not shoveled if there’s snow, so you’ll need to walk in the quiet street in winter if there’s snow), and the up the rock stairs (the house numbering is past the stairs and on the garage). The actual apartment is on the second floor - the one to the left, which I believe is A, and closes to attic stairs). The stairs are narrow in a very old-Maine-house style. It is not a place for those unable to navigate narrow spaces and that many stairs. The listing did not report these details when we rented.
3. If you’re there in winter, be warned: the hill you need to walk down is icy and slick - especially if it snows a light dusting over the ice. Skirt around the ice if you can.

Pros: Cute, sunny place with a view of the Wiscasset bridge, the inlet, and lovely sunrises. Comes with coffee maker, dishes, etc. We felt we had plenty of room because it’s set up for two people and didn’t at all feel cramped. It’s within walking distance of all the local historic sites, and it was blissfully quiet.

Check your linens! They’re not using bleach to wash the towels, and some were stained and too-gross looking to use. More concerning for us was that there was staining on the comforter/bedding that looked like unwashed blood. I’m not sure if the housekeeping service they’re using is just lax or if they’re not washing everything between guests, but it was the dealbreaker for us in not wanting to rent there again.
Manager response:
Pamela, thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We have passed your review to our property manager and will update the listing with more accurate direction notes. We will also address the cleanliness of the towels and bedding with our housekeeping staff. We hope we can have another chance to host you!

Loved the cleanliness and convenient location for our stay. The only negative was the frustration we experienced was trying to connect to WiFi and TV. We finally figured it out, didn’t want to look stupid but it was a struggle for us
Manager response:
Cheryl, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We are happy you enjoyed the cleanliness and location of this home. We have passed your comments in regards to the WIFI and TV along to our local manager, who will work with the homeowner to make any updates. We hope to host you again!

My husband and I both loved this tiny apartment! It had everything we needed, including a well-equipped kitchen, even some first morning essentials! The bed was super comfy, and we loved the older home feel of the house with the modern tidiness of the studio. Be mindful that being an older home, the stairs to the second floor are narrow and a bit steep. This is not a problem; just be aware before you decide to bring a lot of stuff in or, unlike us, make two trips :). Oh, and I didn't mention that you can see the river from your room and when you walk around town you will see all of the historical landmarks that Wiscasset has. This location was convenient for our exploring of Freeport, Biddeford, Brunswick, Rockland, and Camden.
We briefly met the owner, who seemed very friendly and helpful.
We are already planning our return to Maine Memories!

Tastefully decorated, this compact and immaculate studio has everything you need for a vacation getaway. The small size and second floor location are reflected in the affordable price.
Wiscasset is small, but has a few good restaurants. Many mid coast Maine attractions can be found in nearby towns

Good location and views, convenient parking, charming little town! Unit was very clean and well appointed. Wifi had good signal if you're working from here. Ran into the owner who was very friendly. Great stay!

The spot was very nice for my wife & myself. Linda & David were accommodating, helpful, and friendly. I particularly enjoyed having my coffee and reading on their lovely patio. Linda planted beautiful flowers that added to the serenity. Two lobster shacks in this small town & the dinners at Sarah’s Cafe were (unexpectedly) excellent.

Maybe I missed it in the description, but the only negative was our room was on the second story. That was a little difficult for us as we are both in our 70s.

Bright and airy, private and quiet with nice water views.

A compact, comfortable, cheerful space with a small but fully functional kitchen. We prepared 2 meals a day here, ate out one. Owners on premises were helpful and engaging. Lovely patio for a glass of wine. We were happy all week.

A cozy place for a solo or coupled-up weekend getaway, or to spend a few days exploring mid-coast Maine. A very comfortable bed, and a location that makes it easy to get into Brunswick for a dose of civilization (30 minutes), the Boothbay area for noodling around coves, getting a ferry out to Monhegan, forest bathing in the many nature preserves in the region, and even popping up to Camden and environs (less than an hour away). The local bakery, Treats, makes everything good in the morning to start your adventures.
