Enter the home and you’ll immediately feel at ease with its warm and inviting interior. Abundant natural light from picture windows fills each room, as does ample space lighting. The open floor plan reveals a large room that includes a living area, a full kitchen, and a dining area.

Settle in to the comfy blue couches in the living area, flip on the flatscreen television, and pop in a DVD or Blu-ray movie. You could also open a book, relax into the upholstered chair, and kick your feet up on its ottoman while you read. Use the WiFi to Skype with loved ones back home or to check the tide tables.

All four bedrooms are modestly furnished with items like nightstands, dressers, sea-themed decor, and even a wall-mounted TV in the master suite. The bedroom with the futons also has a playful pirate motif with skull and crossbones bedding and a framed picture of a parrot. Young scallywags can rest here!

Wake up refreshed and ready for a full day of coastal activities, which might include horseback riding eight miles north at Green Acres Beach & Trail Rides, browsing souvenir shops in nearby Lincoln City (seven miles north), or pampering yourself with a deep tissue massage at Salishan’s spa. There’s also whale watching six miles south in Depoe Bay and great surfing at Otter Rock, which is 11 miles south.

This particular stretch of beach is wonderful for beachcombing and whale-watching, and the coastline here at Gleneden Beach tends to be uncrowded. Two miles south, the beach access point at Fogarty Creek has some of the absolute best tidepool-viewing spots around. Gleneden Beach itself has a few small shops and eateries (including the fabulous Side Door Cafe), plus a grocery store for the basics. For more options, you'll want to head up to Lincoln City, which offers a surprising selection of eateries and shops.
