Nestled in a family neighborhood on Cape Neddick, this coastal home sits between two of York's favorite beaches - Long Sands Beach, a short walk to the south, and Short Sands Beach, within walking distance to the north. Dining, shopping, and nearby area attractions are close at hand.
Designed to reflect its coastal location, this tasteful home boasts elegant touches like a cathedral ceiling in the formal sitting area, hardwood floors, and columns. Sea-themed decor, multiple sitting rooms with comfortable furnishings, and an open floor plan gives the home character while providing space and privacy, even to a large group of travelers. The main floor of the home is starfish-themed with a soft blue palette. Bring a tray of iced tea to the more casual of the two living spaces to watch cable TV. Guests who prefer reading or are looking to chat amicably over an afternoon cocktail may prefer the more formal sitting area with a wood fireplace at its center, and plenty of natural light streaming in through the sliding glass door. For the big sports game or Saturday morning cartoons, there's a warm den area on the lowest level of the home. Provided WiFi keeps you connected all trip long.
The kitchen is designed for multiple cooks to participate in the meal preparation with granite countertops and modern appliances. Store plenty of fresh seafood in the double-door, stainless steel fridge with a pull-out freezer, and whip up pancakes in the mixer. Set the kids up at the breakfast bar with a smoothie from the blender and English muffin pizzas from the toaster oven. This home is equipped with a table setting for every occasion: A fancy birthday dinner of fresh lobster can be held in the formal dining room. All the main bedrooms are upstairs, with one king bed, one queen bed, and a bedroom with two twin beds and one trundle bed. The basement provides extra sleeping room with a queen bed, a double sofa bed and a twin sofa bed. The family dog may join in as well with a dog bed and a set of dog dishes.
Choose Long Sands Beach or Short Sands Beach - both have lovely boardwalks with eateries, and plenty of sand to squish between your toes (there are two extra beach chairs provided if you need them). Shorts Sands Beach is great for families with younger children, as it includes a playground and the famous Goldenrod candy shop. Short Sands is known for York Days, an August event featuring sandcastle building contests and a fun craft fair.
Adventure is around the corner at York's Wild Kingdom, less than a half-mile from this rental. This combination zoo and amusement park will satisfy the need for thrills. Or take a visit to the Nubble Lighthouse for some photo opportunities, with a stop at Fox's Lobster House for some lunch and an ice cream cone.
