We had a great stay — the house was very comfortable and the shuttle to the mountain was so convenient. Beds were very comfortable and pots, pans, towels, etc. well stocked. The hot tub was great and kids enjoyed the game room and movie room downstairs. Only thing that would have made it better is if we could have users wood in the fireplace/if there was a wood stove.

This was a beautiful home in a perfect location. However, our vacation was ruined because this home was falsely advertised as having AC when it actually did not. We traveled with small kids and elderly parents who, due to health conditions, could not tolerate a 80-90 degree 4th of July weekend in a home without AC. AC was an absolute requirement and was the main condition that we needed in order to book the vacation. When we arrived we found there was no central AC, no window AC units, and not even any floor fans. It was 90 degrees when we arrive and un bearable. We spend\t the first day and a half of our vacation on the phone (mostly on hold) waiting for some sort of response or alternative. We were eventually told that there were no other properties available and that there was nothing that they could do. When we explained our health concerns and asked for a partial refund, we were told they would only reimburse "$25/day for lack of utilities"! (which, over a week and a half later, we still have not received). We were left with no place to go and no reasonable compensation for this false advertisement and discomfort. The property manager was kind enough to bring several floor fans over on our second day. We ended up checking out a day early (which we were not compensated for either) because we could not tolerate the day-time temperatures.
Other items that the owners should consider: there was one small roll of paper towels for this 5 bedroom home. That is not enough. Several of the pots/pans were dirty and caked with grease and grime. When you provide a wood burning fireplace (as advertised on the website) you should allow wood burning or make it clear on the website that it is not allowed. The bottom level is heated with ambient floor heating. You should turn this on the day before guest arrival, as it is below 50 degrees in the lower level (on a 90 degree day) and it took over 12 hours to warm up. The wifi is just about unusable. The signal is so unsteady that we were not able to utilize the theater room. The feed was intermittent/stuttered. Some nice touches would be to place TVs in some of the bedrooms and/or living room, and plant grass outside so that you have a usable yard (ids, games, relaxation, etc.).
Something of note: we were told that the property has been rented for years, yet there are no reviews available. I hope that reviews are not being deleted and/or the property re-listed in order to avoid showing poor reviews. We will keep an eye out for this.
Manager response:
Thank you for your review, Bridget, we're so glad the location of the home served you well. We apologize for any misunderstanding regarding this listing. We attempt to be as transparent with our listings as possible and provide accurate and current photos, amenities lists, and descriptions so guests can make an informed choice about what they are paying for and make the right decision for their needs. We feel it is important to note that this home does not have air conditioning listed as an amenity. Thank you for sharing your feedback and bringing some other items to our attention that may need some TLC. We have forwarded your feedback to the local staff so they can work to improve the house for future guests. Our property manager has assured us that these issues have been resolved since your stay. We hope you choose to stay with us again.
