We loved our stay in this beautiful, cozy cabin. The location was great! Easy drive to the cabin, big yard, wrap around porch, amazing mountain view and horses in the field every morning. The cabin is very clean and has everything you need. Would definitely stay here again!

We absolutely adored this property. We spent most of our evenings on the porch and in the hot tub just enjoying the views. Loved that we weren’t in the busy madness of Gatlinburg. Townsend is a perfectly little vacation spot and we were still only 10 minutes away from the park. Great rental!
kevin M. Jul 2021
This place is great. Perfect a accommodations and far enough to enjoy the things outside of pigeon forge and Gatlinberg.
Michael C. Jul 2021
We loved that it wasn't to far from all of the attractions. The cabin itself was beautiful inside and out.The only downfall was the grass wasn't cut before or while we were there,it was calf high

Enjoyed our stay New Years weekend! Cozy cabin with all the amenities including washer/dryer. (Bring your own detergent). Loved the proximity to Cades Cove and I can’t wait to come back in the summer and go tubing in Townsend!
Pat S. Nov 2020
Twin Cub Lodge Cabin is on “the quiet side” of the Smokies. No traffic ir crowds but beautiful views of the mountains and very close to the Park. (4 miles). The cabin is well-appointed and the huge deck allows you to enjoy the pastoral view of horses grazing in the distance each morning when you have your coffee. Perfect!
Maria Regina O. Nov 2020
The Twin Cub Lodge Cabin is beautiful , clean and peaceful. Easy access to Cades Cove and Smoky Mountain.
Mary B. Oct 2020
Loved the porch, easy access without needing AWD, quiet, private, spacious

Was a great place for our family to spend a few days. We really enjoyed the great charcoal grill beside the porch... used it a couple of times each day! Also very nice fire pit for campfires.

Our three generation family enjoyed the beautiful views of this tastefully Twin Cub Lodge. It was well equipped, and the beds were very comfortable. Access to the Great Smoky Mountains Park was easy. We spent lots of time on the outdoor porch, eating meals and sitting in the rocking chairs with cups of coffee. Highly recommend staying here.
Raymond S. Jul 2020
The place was perfect for us. 2 adults, a teenager and 2 little ones. We loved the big porch with a perfect view. The fire pit and hot tub were also very nice and we got plenty of use out of them. This cabin was in a very quiet and peaceful area but close enough to a few activities for the kids. We will definitely be back!!!

Great place for family
Andrea T. Jun 2020
They had lots of things we usually end up buying or bringing like pillows, fans, kitchen staples like salt, pepper, oil, etc. Pretty clean although they missed some Cheerios on the sofa that stuck out like a sore thumb. But the bathrooms and kitchen and bedrooms appeared clean. I would definitely book again.
Melissa A. Jun 2020
The cabin was great until the last night when we had some issues with the plumbing. But Vacasa was great to work with and helped us as much as they could.
William S. Jun 2020
Plenty of room. Nice layout. Nice beds. Nice internet and TVs. Private location. Nice hot tub. Great porch. Everything very clean. 👍😎
Kelly B. May 2020
The rental was just as advertised! I was a little nervous to begin with because this was our first time staying in Townsend,
but that was all put to rest as soon as we drove up. The view was breathtaking and location was perfect. Cades Cove was beautiful and so close we were able to make several trips. Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg were just a short ride away. The cabin is beautiful and had everything we needed. The fire pit and hot tub was wonderful after a long day of shopping, site seeing and horse back riding. We will definitely book this cabin again and look forward to visiting the caverns on out next trip.

Family friendly and a great location!
Jennifer H. Mar 2020
This cabin is amazing!! From its location to its decor. Simply beautiful and uniquely done, mountain style. My daughter and I had 5 days of bonding!!! Huge fire pit for s’mores, balcony hot tub, lots of games and puzzles. Overlooking rolling meadows is horses and backsplash of the Smokey mountains. Less than a mile from the cabin are the famous Tuckaleechee Caverns, and Davey Crocket Horse riding. The entrance to the Smokey National park is just a 20 minute drive. Taking you straight into the famous Cades Cove loop. We hiked a ton of trails, rode horses, worked in a puzzle, fire pit s’mores, went to Ananeesta park, Gatlinburg Aquarium (best I have ever seen), cozied up with movies, went white water rafting at Wildwater up on the Pigeon Forge( Will is amazing, ask for him as your guide down the rapids). I can’t say enough wonderful things about this cabin. Beautiful, clean, cozy, location to everything was perfect, private....AWESOME!!!
Karen D. Nov 2019
As advertised...quiet, centrally located and amazing views. Would absolutely stay here again.

There was a bit of hiccup upon arrival as lock was frozen. A quick call and it was fixed and maintenance was out the next day. Excellent response!
Stephen H. Oct 2019
This cabin was exactly as advertised! Everything was clean and well stocked. The bunk room had lots of games (board games & video games)!
Ashley P. Sep 2019
This was our second time at TCL we love the location and the layout of the home. Some nice things we noticed this time is new washer and dryers and everything you need to make coffee.few things we noticed this time was that the cabin was kind of dirty. The floors in the kitchen hadn’t been washed, spider webs on lamps and a lot of old dead bugs on the window sills. Also the hot tub was kind of gross and was super low on water and the WiFi didn’t work ( but who need WiFi on a vacation like this)
I was kind of disappointed with the cleanliness this time idk if they switched cleaners or what but the place needs a good spring clean! Other than that it’s a beautiful place to be super quiet and isolated enough that you get the cabin in the mountains experience
Manager response:
We apologize if cleanliness was lacking for your visit. We do plan on getting the home deep cleaned, and the hot tub is cleaned and filled between each guest. We checked the WiFi and found it working properly. Thank you!

Convenient to shops and activities. Place was spacious and quite. Enjoyed the fire pit and grill. Would definitely stay here again.
Linda H. Jul 2019
They place was beautiful. We had everything we needed. Our family loved the fire pit and hot tub. The beds were very comfortable and the extra blankets and pillows allowed us all to sleep well. What a great family rentaL!
David H. Jun 2019
Very quiet, clean, and great views of the Smokys from the porch. Perfect spot for entrance into the park. Don't forget to visit Tuckaleechee caverns.
ABDULLAH A. May 2019
We really loved the place. If you're looking for a place to relax and enjoy the nature, this is it. Moreover the house is fully equipped with what you need. TV service is great!
Justin F. Mar 2019
Beautiful cabin. Great location. Very clean and felt right at home. Please contact if this cabin is ever for sale.
Sue M. Dec 2018
So easy to get to, quiet location but close to stores etc. Kitchen well stocked with necessities, wished it hadn't been rainy, we would have loved to have used the firepit and horseshoes. Great place!
Lynnette J. Aug 2018
Just wanted to let you know we thoroughly enjoyed our time at Twin Cub Lodge in Townsend TN. The accommodations were quite comfortable and we had all we needed to make our stay pleasant. Thank you and your staff for a wonderful job.
Richard B. Aug 2018
Comfy, clean, spacious, quiet, relaxing...….lots of family memories created here. Only downer was a Moose Creek Crossing website had in bold letters we'd have access to a pool and upon arrival we found this wasn't true. It caused us to spend extra money on things to do, but the cabin itself is perfect.
William A. Jul 2018
Clean, comfortable, and quiet. Good furniture, we're lucky to find the children's toys for entertainment. Biggest disappointment was the fact that there weren't instructions to use a pool, nor where it was.
patricia G c. May 2018
This retreat is just what we needed. My Dad celebrated his 93 birthday. He lives 20 minutes away so we could pick him up and drive back to the cabin to have dinner. The porch was just perfect for him to rock and watch the kids play outside. When Dad was tired we could take him home. Great since my out of town kids could all come together and not have to stay with Dad causing less work for him and his wife. Very clean and well taken care of. Lots of room for my adult kids and little ones as well. Every thing we could have asked for was provided. Will return again another time.
christopher C. Mar 2018
Very relaxing! and we loved it.. Just found out last sun we are expecting and top the cherry by going to townsend.. I am from tn and love the mountains.. Made us more closer than ever!
David W. Mar 2018
Great cabin and location, had everything we needed and very clean. Good view of the mountains, close to the GSM park entrance and away from the busy Gatlinburg & Pigeon Forge areas but close enough to visit those areas and attractions within a 30 minute or less drive.
Joseph A C. Jan 2018
We enjoyed our stay at this peaceful mountain retreat .
Highly recommend it for a nice break from city life and the “rat race” of every day life.
Troy B. Dec 2017
We were there for a wedding and wish we had more time to have spent at the property. Very nice location. We plan on another trip to the cabin just for "me time".
Kim D. Nov 2017
We loved how the cabin was decorated for Christmas and the Christmas tree was just beautiful it made it cozy and just perfect
Mavis B. Nov 2017
Great location/relaxing environment, great space, lots of toys available for children. So great overall for families!
Beverly G. Oct 2017
This cabin is beautiful and a very nice place to stay. If you like the quieter side of the mountains without the crowds and touristy things you will love this cabin. We especially enjoyed the fire pit and sitting on the porch reading and watching the horses across the road.
Teresa D. Oct 2017
Love the location. Close to our friends that moved here years ago. Very clean.
Malinda M. Sep 2017
We really enjoyed our stay at Twin Cub. The location was secluded and peaceful yet close enough to Townsend and the Park to take in some great adventures!
Jessica S. Sep 2017
It was a great place to evacuate.
Kathryn L. Sep 2017
Great stay, very clean and com for table. We had 6 gusts (3 couples) which worked out weel. I think 9 guests would have been a little cramped unless some of them are kids.

Also, as an aside the king bed it's very high up and requires a foor stool. It was okay us because we had some tall guests, but could present an ankle sprain hazard for some.
David R. D. Aug 2017
Twin Cub lodge is a quiet cabin on a large lot. Great for family vacation
Rebecca M. Aug 2017
good location quiet peaceful
Marcus C. Aug 2017
it was a very cute and clean cabin. as well as a quiet community. we enjoyed our stay!!
Terri E. Jul 2017
The perfect cabin in winter. If airconditioning gets upgraded it is the perfect cabin for summer. Great location and very clean.
Lynnette J. Jul 2017
I can not share enough good thoughts about Twin Cub Lodge! This was the absolute best accommodations we could have had for our all-girl mission team. We had ample space to prepare our materials in addition to rest and relaxation. Our girls continue to rave about the wonderful place in which we stayed. In the words of one girl, "It's just like home!" We felt comfortable, safe, and content. The Vacasa staff was most helpful and went above and beyond to work toward meeting our needs. I can not recommend them highly enough.
Ruth W. Jul 2017
Twin Cub Lodge is a beautiful, cozy cabin 30 minutes away from Gatlinburg's hustle and bustle. The furnishings made us feel right at home. The hot tub and fire pit provided wonderful relaxation after busy days exploring.
Wendy P. Jul 2017
The cabin was everything we were hoping for. We were able to fix a couple of family dinners with the well appointed kitchen. We enjoyed the fire pit, hot tub and the beautiful country club pool.

We just experienced a wonderful 7 day visit to the beautiful Twin Cub Lodge. The property is nestled in the valley south of Townsend, the quiet alternative to the Gatlinburg/ Pigeon Forge areas to the east. The house is very comfortable, and it really felt like a home away from home. It has everything you'll need for your daily needs; the kitchen is fully stocked, plenty of board games on hand for rainy days, and the hot tub was put to good use after our day hikes. The lodge has high-speed wireless internet was a must for planning our daily activities. Cable TV, 4 flat screen tv's and video games are provided, but we never turned them on - there was too much else to do! Although Townsend was pretty quiet during our stay, and not all the businesses were open yet, it probably gets quite busy in the summer months. While the property is on the west side of the park, we didn't mind the small amount of extra time it took to reach the good day hikes on the east side of the park or up to Clingmans Dome. There is good access to Cades Cove, which is where we did a majority of our hiking, but the one-way Rich Mountain Rd. wasn't open when we stayed (it opens April 15th) - we would have used it as a shortcut out of Cades Cove back to Twin Cub. Tuckaleechee Caverns is a must visit and only 2 minutes from the cabin - we have visited Mammoth Caves in KY, and this cave is even better - a complete surprise! And the folks at Davy Crockett Riding Stables around the corner are outstanding if you want to go for a horseback ride. All in all, I would highly recommend a visit to Twin Cub Lodge if you enjoy the peaceful side of the Smokies. If we have the opportunity to visit the Smokies again, Twin Cub would be our first choice as our base camp.

The house is easily located and accessible. We enjoyed the layout and bedroom configurations. The board games and toy closet were a hit with our kids. The roomy dining table was a perfect fit for our family of six and the home was well stocked with towels and basic toiletries.

That said, our experience wasn't great. We were given a wrong access code and couldn't get in the house for about 20 minutes.

The water heater was off when we arrived. The local property manager told us the owner had the same issue the previous weekend and suggested we reset it. The panel had water pooling behind it. We had to reset the water heater and wait for hot water 3-4 times per day during our stay.

Additionally, there was gum in the hot tub. We discovered this after our girls got out with chunks of blue gum in their hair.

The fire pit and surrounding chairs are a great option. There are even s'more sticks in a basket ready to go. Unfortunately, despite picking up wood on our way in, we were unable to use it because there wasn't a fire starter or box of matches in the entire house.

The key code and matches were an annoyance I would have shrugged off if the rest of the weekend had gone smoothly, but in combination with the water heater and gum, the weekend was a challenge to say the least.

We had a great time in Townsend and enjoyed this house. It was exceptional clean and neat. Very relaxing weekend. The kids enjoyed the hot tub while we enjoyed the rocking chairs and watching the horses in the neighboring field. Very quiet stay but just a little drive back to anything you wanted to do. I would recommend this rental to my friends and we plan to return ourselves. Be sure to try out Campfire Grill. Best burgers and rings ever, very friendly help. We also saw 3 bear in Cades Cove. Be sure to visit just before dusk.

My husband and I met family members at the cabin on Friday. We were thrilled when we entered the cabin. It was exceptionally clean and beautifully decorated - even prettier than the pictures. My husband's parents stayed in one of the downstair bedrooms, and we stayed in the bedroom upstairs. We slept like babies in the comfortable king-sized bed. On Saturday morning we had coffee on the porch and enjoyed the beautiful view. Later on Saturday we were off to the Tennessee football game. The property was only about 30 minutes from parking at the South Agg Campus. On Sunday we toured nearby Cades Cove. We enjoyed eating at one of Townsend's family restaurants. Next time we visit, we plan to take advantage of the horseback riding stables located very close to the property. My husband wants to play the golf course in Townsend, and I want to visit the local antique stores. We definitely plan to stay at the cabin again and have recommended it to several of our friends.
