Family-friendly home with private hot tub & beach access - ocean & lake views!

Come to Cape Meares and make this spacious rental your home away from home on the Oregon Coast. Revel in beautiful ocean and lake views and easy access to the beach. Great for families and multiple couples, this home also offers plenty to keep you occupied when you want to stay in and enjoy each other's company - with a hot tub and temperpedic mattress for the ultimate in relaxation .

Perched up above the wetlands, this home provides plenty of opportunities for wildlife and bird watching. You'll be just a few minutes from the ocean and even closer to Cape Meares Lake, and you'll be less than eight miles from supermarkets, restaurants, and more in Tillamook. Don't forget to take some time to relax in the private hot tub at home - the view overlooking meadows, the ocean, and Cape Meares Lake is one-of-a-kind.

This multilevel home is designed and decorated with comfort and style in mind, all with mid-century modern flair. After you've unpacked, unwind in the den and watch a movie on the flatscreen TV. You'll have plenty of options with the DVD library, DVD/Blu-ray player, and Netflix streaming. Or stake your claim on one of the window-facing chaise lounges in the upper level and enjoy the view while you sip wine and listen to music on the stereo, complete with CD player and Bluetooth receiver. Plan your itinerary with the complimentary WiFi or find a good book from the selection and settle in for a long read. This home also has a Verizon cell phone service booster.

At mealtime, head to the completely remodeled kitchen to make all your family's favorites in the well-equipped space. You'll be set for easy meal prep and cleanup with stainless steel appliances, including a dishwasher. Dine together at the large table and enjoy gorgeous water views. In the warmer months when weather permits, grill up a scrumptious barbecue meal on the gas grill, and savor it on the deck.

After dinner, retire to the living room for a repose and warm up by the wood stove, or steal away to one of this home's many nooks for some alone time. Kids might like to carefully climb the ladder into the loft space, where they can play or look out the windows. There's also an area with a small desk and monitor, so bring your laptop and get some work done.

The master bedroom boasts a Tempurpedic king-size bed and a full attached bath with a large tub and standalone shower. This bedroom also has a twin daybed. The second bedroom has a Tempurpedic queen-size bed. There is also another full bath downstairs. Add to that the queen-size sofabed in the den, and this two-bedroom, two-bath home accommodates up to six guests.

For your added convenience, there's also a heated outdoor shower and a mud room for all your sandy items and clothes, and you'll have a private washer and dryer nestled in the kitchen.

If you came to the coast to relax and regroup, you'll have everything you need close at hand. When you're not out enjoying the lake or taking a stroll on the beach, you can get everyone together for a game night, thanks to the selection for kids and adults. Or make good use of the lovely yard and play a fun game of croquet (provided). Or take a repose on the deck and see bald eagles and even see the resident herd of elk enjoying the wetlands below.

And when you want to get out and explore, check out the Cape Meares Lighthouse (please note that the road south of Cape Meares is closed, so you'll need to reach it via Oceanside). Head to Bayocean Peninsula Park for some light hiking, then pay a visit to the Tillamook Cheese Factory for a tour.

The views would be all you need but this place has so much more to experience. In August we watched deer eating blackberries and caught a glimpse of racoons on the deck. Oh, and the beach - spectacular!
Manager response:
We are pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay! Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us.  We look forward to hosting you again!

The house has no next door neighbors so it's very private. The living spaces are wonderful, plenty of dishes, hot tub and a nice small grill outside. Only 2 bedrooms and bathrooms but a nice sleeper sofa my 22 yr old sob comfortably slept on. The only downside is the shower downstairs has no light so is very dark. Upstairs shower head is barely 5'6" high. All the furniture is very comfortable and the views are amazing. You can't see the ocean a block away but you can hear it!

Sandpiper's location is quite private and quiet, and has views on all sides, including a view of the waves and of the marsh surrounding the house. (If you're there in the summer, bring bug repellant, because marshes!)

If you want to "do the Oregon Coast," the tiny town of Cape Meares might not be for you—it's got no services and it's tucked quite aways from the highway. If you want to stay in place—relax, walk, read, watch birds, spend some quality time with a loved one or two—this is the place.

As with many homes on the Oregon Coast, few of Sandpiper's main-room windows actually open to the breeze. There are a few that do, however, and the bedrooms and upstairs bathroom open completely.

It's an older house, and the second floor is lofted above the first, so sound carries. If quiet isn't a concern for you, just skip this paragraph. :) If it is, I wouldn't recommend taking more than one or two other people.

Sandpiper is very comfortable, so pleasantly decorated and laid out. We loved it.

Our family enjoyed a quiet week on the coast in this cozy cottage. The location is peaceful, fairly private and just a short walk to the beach. There are plenty of windows with some good views of breaking surf in the distance. The place has a few quirks most people will find charming...overall we had a nice time. Enjoyed it.
Laura D. Oct 2020
We loved this house so much-the views of the lake and ocean, star gazing, bat watching. It was lovely and we will be back. Not close to shops and restaurants but we loved that about it.
John H. Oct 2020
We had a wonderful time staying here!

The home was clean and comfortable. The location is great if you love quiet getaways. We walked with coffee to the beach every morning and enjoyed watching the storms roll in over the ocean.

We highly recommend staying here!

Had such a wonderful week at this house! It is an ideal location, nestled amongst nature. It is just a short walk to the beach and we kayaked on Cape Meares lake! We cooked all of our meals in the spacious kitchen and enjoyed the views from right inside the house. We had a deer visit several times during the week along with birds and other wildlife. We witnessed several unbelievable sunsets and one evening in the hot tub saw a shooting star! Will be back for sure!
Wade W. Aug 2020
Beautiful home, clean and well appointed, spacious and charming. Star gazing from the hot tub is hard to beat. Highly recommended

This house has a wonderful location, just a quarter mile walk to the beach (and on sunny days, you can see the ocean from the upper floor). It is well stocked with everything you need, from towels and linens to kitchen items. The mud room is a great place to take off sandy shoes and clothes so that no sand gets tracked into the house. And the hot tub is perfect for relaxing at the end of a long hike. We hope to return!

This was an amazing property to stay at-especially during the Age of Covid. We are a family of four with two young boys ages 6 and 8. They need a lot of room outside to run, play, be loud and be kids and this place fit the bill for that, among other things. Not having close neighbors on any side was awesome. This would be a great place to stay with another couple as well - such as grandparents who could be on the lower level. The beds were amazingly comfortable (our sons even commented how well they slept together in the downstairs bedroom) and views and the light in the house was awesome - I don’t think we ever put the blinds down. Having the two front decks, the back covered dining deck and the picnic tables were bonus, along with being able to hear the relaxing ocean sounds all around. The Guest portion of the garage supplied chairs, boogie boards, nerf launchers and croquet which we all had so much fun with. The beach was an easy two block walk away and we drove to a little put-in with our kayak to take the kids out. We saw elk in the meadow, bats while drinking wine outside at dusk and a baby male deer eating berries, all from the house. The hot tub was a bonus on the days when the marine layer stayed put and the kids loved the movies and game selections. (It was their first time playing Twister!). The bathrooms were a little funky with outdated showers but they were more quaint than anything and the master bedroom could use an empty dresser like the one in the downstairs bedroom - we didn’t have anywhere to unpack our clothes which would have been nice as we were there for 5 nights but hey, it just made packing easier when we left. The kitchen is very nice and there is a TON of counter space though a little bit lacking on some supplies we’ve come to depend on at rentals, like plastic bags, smaller Tupperware and spices, but certainly no hardship, we’ve just gotten used to not packing when we rent. Wishing this location were a little closer to Eugene but it’s definitely at the top of our list. It was great to explore Tillamook and Garibaldi - taking the kids to the lighthouse, octopus tree, tallest spruce and the on the Oregon Coast Scenic Railway made for an all-around memorable place, with this beautiful house at the heart of it.

Just what our family was looking for as a quick getaway. Super easy beach access, hot tub, lovely views of trees and marshy lake, and lots of peace and quiet. The house is well setup with lots of areas to hang out inside and out. We will be sure to return.
Heather G. Jul 2020
We really enjoyed the location, landscape, views and beach. This is a beautiful home with a brand new hot tub. A little quirky in the kitchen and it was a little challenging finding what we needed, but Vacasa limits what owners can have available to guests. So, bring all of your cooking needs. Other than that, spectacular house and we will book again!
Samuel G. Jul 2020
Amazing house. Loved the location and the space.
Adam O. Jun 2020
This was just what we needed. It was an amazing trip to an amazing location. The house was cool and well furnished with everything we needed. It was clean and comfortable and the waffle maker was a plus with a toddler who loves waffles. The hot tub was clean and perfect temp to relax. There’s a little yard that was perfect to play some for hole. Also, it was just a couple minute walk to the beach.
The drain in the master bathroom sink could use a cleaning or drano and some dishes had to be rewashes but those were the only downsides.

I would definitely return here again. We loved it.
Manager response:
Hi, Adam! We appreciate your feedback and are so glad you enjoyed your stay. We apologize housekeeping missed checking the dishes; they have been reminded to be thorough when doing this. Maintenance is taking care of the sink drain. Thank you for staying with us!

Couldn’t have stayed for a second year at a better place to enjoy the family at Christmas. The home is fully stocked with everything needed to cook a full Christmas dinner. Great place to relax, even went crabbing for a day. I highly recommend this comfy home to anyone looking for a great hassle free stay.
Crystal S. Nov 2019
House was very clean inside and well stocked with linens, towels and entertainment. Some quirks made it a fun experience, the upstairs master bathroom has a deep and long tub for soaking, though the shower is very short (I’m 5’4” and had to bend a bit to wash my hair under the shower head).
Very scenic views, hot tub was incredibly enjoyable and the location was perfectly serene.

Exterior of home could use some minor clean up. Lots of cobwebs and bugs, but what can one expect from a guesthouse that isn’t a daily occupied residence? Overall we would definitely stay again.
teresa t. Sep 2019
Close to the sea and mere , this home is in a beautiful part of the coast.
Wade W. Aug 2019
Just wonderful. Really, almost perfect. We LOVE LOVE LOVE this home. Been coming for three years now. Best home EVER. One thing we did note was the lack of a good toaster. Ended up using the oven most of the time. Other than that, it’s heavenly.
Terrence B. Aug 2019
Our group was myself (35), my wife (32), our son (2), and my parents (60s). The house was great for all, and very spacious.

This place was spectacular both inside and out. We were shocked at how affordable it was, given both the location and the incredible upkeep of the house. You can see the ocean and a nice marsh from the HUGE windows. Very comfortable seating upstairs to just lie back and watch the outdoors. We would sit and watch bats at night, and a variety of birds during the day (swallows, herons, jays, waxwings, and a family of ospreys that lives next door). Lots of deer outside too, and spotted a raccoon trying to climb up to the bird feeder.

Beach was surprisingly underused, and you could head really far down the point if you wanted. From Google Maps, it looks like you could drive, but actually no. You'd need to be willing to walk really far or bike.

When you're at the beach, head over to the cliffs at low tide. You can even look inside some sea caves that are covered in starfish, barnacles, and crabs.

The road to the lighthouse is closed to car traffic (you have to drive the long way to get there), but you can walk it in ~1 hour. Lots of people seem to use the road for walking, jogging, and biking.

Great hot tub, lots of cooking equipment, and a nice BBQ. BBQ is smaller than average, which ends up being better because it heats and cooks quickly. Our son loved having his own enormous bed, and made us read him a Clifford book we found at the house about 50 times.

Could not recommend this enough. We felt very fortunate to spend a week in this amazing place.
Richard A. Aug 2019
This was a wonderful place for our family vacation. Close to the water, a yard for the kids to play. Enjoyed watching the deer eating blackberries.
Susan H. Jun 2019
Private, lots of room to relax, comfortable beds, great kitchen with all you need to cook a family meal. Having the hot tub was a real treat after a day of hiking. Our teenager loved having Netflix & movies to watch in the evening. Extra bonus the elk who showed up next door in the marsh!
Hector L. Jun 2019
The house was well equipped and clean. It had everything you needed for rainy days. It was walking distance to the beach. The beach was another pretty cool part of this place. We loved it so much we'll end up rebooking.
Laurie N. Apr 2019
Lovely home with sounds of ocean waves and songbirds.
Danica H. Mar 2019
We loved this place! Clean comfortable and well stocked. Hot tub was great after a day of beach combing. I am already looking at booking this house again.
Lisa E. Nov 2018
Location, views, privacy, and hot tub
Terry S. Sep 2018
Super comfortable and terrific location.
Christine B. Sep 2018
Second time renting this home. Great location, great privacy, fully stocked, the complete beach house package!
Wade W. Aug 2018
This is one of the best beach rentals we've ever stayed in. We've tried five in Cape Meares and this is by far the best. Well equipped, clean, recently remodeled, it's comfortable, has great views and is a short walk to the beach. The kitchen has everything you need. The hot tub is so nice after a long day at the beach. Highly recommended
Jeremy R. Aug 2018
Home set in a quiet, private setting.
SAM M. Aug 2018
This is probably the VERY best equipped house we've ever rented for a vacation. Had one problem with the hot tub, and it was fixed within 3 hours after one, quick call-GREAT response, thank you! Well spaced out, homey, comfortable, probably couldn't have asked for more. The pictures on the website lead one to think the ocean and the lake are easily visible from the house...not quite the case, but still very close to both. Be aware that there are absolutely NO services in Cape Meares (you'll have to run over to Tillamook), but we would DEFINITELY stay here again.
Sally M. Aug 2018
Wonderful location and very comfortable, beautiful home.
Kerri S. Jul 2018
This home is beautifully decorated and completely furnished for a perfect family getaway to the beach. Spacious gathering places, little nooks for everyone to have a little space, super comfortable.
Carly B. Jul 2018
Beautiful home and location, it had everything we needed, we loved our stay!
Glynnis O. Jul 2018
Several girlfriends and I needed a relaxing stay and Cape Meares and this home is EXACTLY what we needed. We were able to enjoy the cooler temps, all sit around the dining table together to enjoy meals and laughs, and soothe our muscles in the hot tub every evening. Being able to walk down to the beach in minutes was wonderful too!
Victoria F. Jun 2018
The house is beautiful and right down the road from the beach. It has everything you would need for a relaxing stay, including a great view of the bay. My whole family enjoyed our time here and would come back again.
Ken A. Apr 2018
We came to kayak and loved the close proximity to the fresh water Lake Meares and to Tillamook Bay (not to mention super short walk to the Pacific Ocean beach access!). We were able to walk the kayaks to put in at the lake and took a short drive back towards town to put in at the Tillamook Bay boat launch. The mud room was so great for getting our gear dry for the next day. The hot tub was a welcome sight at the end of each day very clean and hot!
Special shout out to the local property manager Tom, he went above and beyond to get us our forgotten items back, thank you!
Jeff K. Mar 2018
Perfect family get-a-way! Relaxing and enjoyable for the whole family. There was a short walk to the beach and once there, the views of the ocean were breathtaking!
John M. Mar 2018
The house was perfectly prepared and had high quality furnishings, appliances, and dishware. We loved the house and really enjoyed our stay. If you are looking for a peaceful quiet spot to enjoy the beach and hike trails this is the perfect place for you!
Misha L. Nov 2017
We enjoyed a girls weekend full of cooking and socializing in the kitchen and at the huge table. The house was great and n a beautiful setting. We loved it!
Wade W. Oct 2017
Clean, newly remodeled beach home that is very family friendly. We had a great stay here. Loved it.
Ela T. Aug 2017
This property was a true hidden gem- wish we could have stayed there longer. We spent nearly a week here and drove around to other neighboring towns... loved how secluded and off the beaten path this place is (and at the same time- only 20 minutes from the nearest grocery store). Thank you to the owners and vacasa for letting us have a wonderful end to our summer vacation.
Carol W. Aug 2017
We loved the seemingly remote location of this house with its view of wetlands and the ocean. It was a very short walk to a quiet beach yet close to many attractions. Meals were a pleasure to prepare because the kitchen was very well stocked with utensils, pans, bowls, etc. This house was spotless; I'd say it definitely surpassed our expectations.
Ben M. Jun 2017
When we were there in late June the frogs were croaking, owls, eagles and bats were flying around, and the sun was out. The house is an easy walk to a broad beach with only locals around. A true getaway. The house itself is nice and secluded. We were impressed with the kitchen and dining area, plus the living rooms. There were plenty of places to sleep, though really only two bedrooms makes it a tad awkward with our 4 adults and 4 kids.
Mark R. Jun 2017
Great place for any weather
Michael C. May 2017
House was incredibly spacious and tranquil. Spent holiday weekend and would have loved to stay longer. Very close and walkable access to the beach from private lane. Definitely a good place to stay with lots of light and roomy, updated interior.
Susan K. May 2017
Off the beaten path. Great beach and trails. Marsh area for bird watching. Amazingly clear and clean.
Everything provided.

I plan to reserve again next year
