Filled with beautiful buildings and incredible architecture, the centerpiece of the city is thought to be the Milan Cathedral (or "the Duomo", as locals call it). As the fifth-largest church in the world, this Duomo is truly something worth visiting - it took 500 years to complete! La Scala is world-renowned as one of the best opera houses. In operation since 1778, you can still see opera showcases and performances today at this historical theater.
