Lovely dog-friendly home w/ lakefront views, dock, and a private guest cottage!
Truly get away from it all at this five-bedroom lakeside Florence vacation rental! You'll have lake views from the deck, blooming hydrangeas in the spring, the sounds of nature surrounding you, and lots of space for the whole family (up to 12 guests) to relax. Located directly across from the boat launch at Honeyman Park, this home even boasts its own dock! This property has a main house and a small, one bedroom cottage.
After a day spent enjoying nature, come back to the spacious and comfortable living room for a night of watching DVDs in front of the wood burning fireplace. With two sofas, there's a spot for everyone! Sliding glass doors lead out to the deck with its lake views and also give this space a lot of natural light.
The large kitchen includes an eat-in table with a sectional bench, as well as a stools lining the kitchen counter for family meals with everyone gathered around. And in addition to the expected appliances (refrigerator, stovetop/oven, and dishwasher), there's also a waffle iron, blender, slow cooker, and a toaster. You can get everyone out of bed on a Sunday morning with plates of waffles, bacon, juice and a pot of coffee, then get ready to head outside on a hike.
There are two bedrooms downstairs - one has a queen bed and the other has two twins, as well as a full bathroom. And upstairs, the two bedrooms have the same layout, and the bathroom has a shower. With seven beds, this home comfortably sleeps 10 guests, but with a maximum occupancy of 12, you're welcome to bring air mattresses for the remaining two guests.
Other amenities include a stereo and CD player, as well as a washer and dryer.
But one of the best spots on this whole property is the deck overlooking Woahink Lake! Grab a coffee mug in the morning and head outside for coffee with an amazing view - you can stay on the deck or listen to the sounds of nature down at the dock. The whole family will enjoy spending time out here. There's a charcoal grill if you want to make burgers or steaks, as well as an outdoor fire pit. After dinner, round everyone up for ghost stories and s'mores out around the fire.
Now, if there are one or two guests in your group that would like a bit more privacy, the small cottage on the property is a great option! This cute, cozy space has a queen sized bed, a full bathroom, and a kitchenette with a small refrigerator, microwave, and a coffeemaker. There's also a TV with a VCR, so be sure to bring your favorites movies on tape from home. Up to 10 guests (eight in the main house and two in the cottage) can comfortably stay here - you can add two more if they don't mind using sleeping bags! And also, dogs are welcome! Bring up to two furry companions, though a nightly fee per dog and a minimum fee per stay will apply.
When you want to get down to the water, there are boardwalk pathways that will get you there. Out on the lake, you'll be able to fish for largemouth bass, trout, perch, and more. On the east side there are boat ramps, as well as a roped off swimming area. Pack a picnic lunch and head down to the water for an afternoon of family fun!
This location truly offers the best of both worlds - the quiet serenity of an inland lake, but then you're also just 4 miles from the sandy beach. Here, you'll enjoy a long stretch of sandy shoreline just perfect for running with the dogs, building sandcastles, or flying kites. The sandy dunes in Florence are also the perfect place to try sandboarding, go for a dune buggy ride, or just climb to the top and tumble your way back down!
For a little city excitement, make a stop in Old Town Florence to browse the galleries, shop for souvenirs, or have a snack. The Siuslaw Pioneer Museum features living history exhibits, photographs, and artifacts from Florence's history and for a dinner out, be sure to try the crab-encrusted halibut at the Waterfront Depot. Before heading back, maybe pick up some ground beans at Siuslaw River Coffee Roasters for a great cup of coffee on the deck in the morning.
When you want to put down the electronics and cable remotes, plan a stay at this wonderful and peaceful Florence vacation rental. You'll enjoy lovely lake views, cozy furnishings, and quality family time you'll always remember.

The house had a beautiful view of the lake. Wonderful dock/beach area and a great fire pit area. The house had a lot of indoor seating and a big kitchen table for a big family to sit. The property was secluded which was fabulous for our dogs. Would definitely rent again.

A beautiful, sweet spot on the lake. A safe, secure dock and little beach area. Comfortable and fairly clean, the home is rustic and quaint. The challenges here are: a septic system alarm sounds when too many drains are being used at the same time, such as showers, washer, dishwasher cannot run at the same time; also, the parking area is somewhat muddy and tight for turning around. All in all our family really enjoyed our 10 days in this home. Thank you so much!
Patti E.Feb 2020
I gave it a 4 star because the house needed a few things. Screens on the bedroom windows, better curtains or shades for the bedrooms windows (you can see through the curtains at night so privacy when needed), the knife drawer almost caused a bloody mess , and some kindling or starter sticks to start the fire.
Those are the things we thought needed fixed but the rest was great. The place is out dated but that adds to the charm, the view is outstanding, and the fire place wonderful. It was stormy the whole time so we stayed inside nice and cozy so I can not comment on the trails. The driveway was a little scary, :)
One other thing is the 5th bedroom and 3rd bathroom must be outside in its own building. Luckily not everyone was able to make it because we were not given any info on how to get into that building.
We are happy that you enjoyed this lovely home! We have forwarded your suggestions regarding the windows, the knife drawer, and the kindling to the manager to present to the owner. We hope we can host you again soon!

Two docks and a cottage next to the main home. We actually liked that the home wasn’t fully updated because it still has everything you need and you don’t feel like you have to walk on eggshells everywhere you go. You can just be comfortable and enjoy a cabin like atmosphere.
John M.Jan 2020
This home is tucked away and feels very private. It was quiet and peaceful. Well-equipped and nice accommodations.
Tom D.Nov 2019
The layout, tho smaller than the pictures looked was just fine for the 10 of us. Beds for everyone. Loved the large dining table that we could all sit around. Woodsy setting just gorgeous! Fire pit area one of the best. Smaller apt. was very smelly.
Thank you for your review, Tom! We are happy you had a nice stay! We apologize for any odor in the small apartment. We will pass your remarks along to the local team to ensure any smell is addressed. We look forward to hosting you again!
Dacia M.Sep 2019
Loved the privacy and peaceful surroundings. House was plenty of room and loved the deck. A lot of shade. Need to replace carpet and couches are needing to upgrade but other than that. Loved it!
Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback, Dacia! We're pleased to know you enjoyed a peaceful stay at this lovely Florence getaway. We appreciate your helpful suggestions regarding the interiors, and we'll pass this information onto our management team for consideration. We hope to have another chance to impress you in the future!

A Fir Peace was the perfect place to enjoy all that the area has to offer. We truly fell in love with charming Florence and the many natural wonders of the entire area. This spacious cabin was cozy and clean, and perfect for our two families with teenagers.
kim l.Aug 2019
We hadn't stayed at AFP for a couple of years and as always it didn’t disappoint. The house isn't updated but We love the proximity to the lake and the Florence area in general.
I will say that for the cost, we expected to not have to run out for toilet paper, paper towels and trash bags. The kitchen is sparsely stocked with only just enough plates and glasses for our group of 6 to get by for one day without having to wash. Same with towels. The cleaners were there when we arrived and barely made it out by 4pm check in...
Besides these inconveniences, it’s a pleasant stay and we hope to keep returning for as long as we can afford to. Lovely home.
Peter W.Jul 2019
We loved the lake, decks, sunshine, firepit, smores, fishing, swimming, and relaxing in this cozy cabin.
David H.Jul 2019
Perfect for our family and the 2 dogs! Can't beat the lake access, view, and proximity to town.
Naveed B.Jul 2019
The house location is really nice. The best part is the deck and the dock. A fire at night was really nice. The Dock was fantastic.
The house, furniture, and decor were all pretty dated. Also, the house was REALLY hard to find. Two cars and a bike arrived separately and we all got lost and had to hunt for a while. The instructions are NOT clear at all!
Randal M.Jun 2019
Enjoyed the privacy of the location in a tranquil and beautiful location. Lots of room and comfortable for up to 10 adults.
Lynn S.Sep 2018
The setting and space is fantastic. This is our third family stay here. Quiet, private and beautiful lake access. Missing some basic elements - spatula, garbage cans, parts of the fridge.... little things but noticable. The higher price this year cut our stay short - but no smoke in the air was a huge benefit.
Corey C.Sep 2018
This place has it all! So secluded and amazing. Some might think the amenities need to be upgraded, but we found that part of its charm. 10 out of 10!
Lora H.Jul 2018
We just spent the last week at this beautiful property Amazing lake and views are beautiful. Flowers around the property were lovely and the house was perfect for our family. We were traveling with 6 adults. The kitchen was very well stocked and nice appliances But could an update. Wish there were screens on the windows as the weather was perfect. The fishing was awesome for my son. And there was always something to do in the surrounding area of Florence. Rogue river boat ride. Sand dune rides shopping in Florence and yummy crab chowder at novellis on the dock in Florence. We also got fresh tuna right off the boat from novellis. We had an amazing time and will definitely be back. ❤️
Natalia G.Jul 2018
We've spent perfect time there. Everything was great.
Abdullah A.Apr 2018
really loved the location as well as the fireplace outside, the house is big and comfortable and can take large group of people.
Jasmine R P.Feb 2018
Great location and cozy home provided an excellent setting for a small women's retreat. We are looking forward to coming back this summer.
Philip S.Jan 2018
This house had the most stunning views, and is supremely secluded. Coming down a long and narrow driveway, you enter a small parking lot that can accommodate three economy cars comfortably, and four cars tightly. Any more than that and you will have a terrible time trying to get in and out. Large trucks and anything towing trailers is a terrible idea to bring. Trying to turn around to back up is tremendously difficult and causes no small amount of swearing from the drivers. Upon entering the main house, it is VERY spacious and welcoming, with very large windows and a wonderful skylight that frames the tops of tall trees and sky. There are plenty of rooms to be able to comfortably accommodate 10 people, more if you squeeze some people in between. There are plenty of bathrooms to keep people comfortable. The kitchen is somewhat small to work in, but the stove and the dishwasher are fairly new and serve well. One dock on one side of the house, and another boardwalk on the other side of the house, provide views that elicit a sense of total peace. The internet, when it is working, is pretty fast at about 15-20 Mbps. It did not fail for us, but when we got there we had to call to have it fixed as it was non-functional. But Vacasa got it up and running within a day, very nice work and attentive when we brought up the issue. The cabin has a strange musty smell, but if you are in and out of it often enough you can sort of get used to it. If it's wet outside, walk on the shingled attached to the decking! Otherwise it get slippery. Not good for Gramma and Gramps, if you know what I mean. This house had plenty of dishes, pots and pans, a nice microwave, toaster, silverware and utensils to make plenty of good food. There are lots of provided spices from previous guests, but much of it is past its prime and needs to be thrown away. Bring all of your own consumables is my only recommendation there. The house is VERY cold in the colder months. Older style windows make it hard to warm it up. Plus the flue in the fireplace is like a winter wind-tunnel. Unless you have a fire going, cold air is going to leech out of there and keep anyone near it very cold. However there is a HUGE abundance of blankets, both light and heavy. Lots of seating area! I particularly loved the dining table, which can easily accommodate 10 people. Washer and drier work perfectly fine and kept our clothes clean. I would stay here again. The cost is a bit restrictive, but if you have multiple parties attending and paying, it makes the whole thing worth it.
Ann W.Oct 2017
Our office rented this property for the weekend for a retreat. It was PERFECT
Jason H.Oct 2017
The House was fantastic with plenty of room for our group. We fished off of the dock during the day and hung out by the fire at night. It was close to town and the dunes.
Noriko Y.Sep 2017
We had a great time there. This house had almost everything. We hope we will come back again.
Anna S.Sep 2017
If your intent is to be adequately housed in an area of nature perfection, then this place will fulfill that for you. If you appreciate more being indoors with modern, updated and luxurious amenities and applications (which this place DOES not have), but still value seeing nature from outside your windows, then there is the give and take you would need to wrestle with in choosing this place. Vacate service is great.
Dawn D.Sep 2017
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at a fir peace. The location is wonderful, the driveway can be hard to find but worth it once you get down to the house. Very homey and comfortable. All 11 people in our group enjoyed themselves and want to come back again soon!
David H.Jul 2017
Had a great time. This place is not plush but quite comfortable for a cabin experience. The little issues we had were what we expected for a cabin retreat.
Scott K.Jul 2017
A Fir Peace is a really awesome place to stay. The property is beautiful and large, we never ran into any neighbors. The house itself is perfectly set up for a large group or a couple of families. The two docks is a big plus because when the sun stops hitting one you can move to the other. Lake Woahink is also very beautiful and great for swimming and boating.
Mikael S.Jun 2017
We all had an amazing time. Surroundings are awesome!!
The sign on the main road could be more visible... but everybody found his way at the end of the day!
Kerry S.May 2017
We brought my folks here for my Mothers 80th Birthday. We could not have been happier with the whole setup. Absolutely beautiful location, great spot for the dogs, and the folks loved it. If you are looking for a modern, fancy place, this is not it. If you are looking for a great, down to earth Lake house, you will be hard pressed to find a better one. I will definitely be back!!
Keri K.Apr 2017
We loved this house! We want to come back already and we just left. The grounds are beautiful, right on the water's edge. Our kids loved the trails to explore. We came in the rainy season, and the deck is SLIPPERY! be careful!!! Don't run, walk and use purposeful steps. Kitchen was well stocked, little cabin did smell a bit musty (but I didn't stay in there, so I don't mind). We will be back in the summer time. Hopefully the lake is warm- although we had two crazies who took the plunge in march 😂
All in all great stay! Thanks!
Joey C.Mar 2017
The house was very hard to find. The staff said there is a sign at the road but the sign is 30 yards off main road down a driveway that also goes to two other homes. The driveway is very narrow and long. It is also hard to turn around at the house. The outside dock and patio area is very nice, other than that the house had a funky smell. I will not rent this home again.
Diane M.Feb 2017
Our family of 12 had a great two weeks at Fir Peace. We loved the secluded location, a warm, cozy, comfortable cabin with plenty of room for all of us. The kids ( and grown ups ) enjoyed exploring the paths thru the forest around the cabin. We found plenty to do right there that we didn't need to leave. Everything you need is provided for a great vacation. Early mornings watching the rain thru the huge windows with a hot mug of steaming coffee was the perfect way to start each day. Beautiful bluejays visited rain or shine each day. Papa even gave his grandkids fishing lessons from the dock. We hope to visit again soon and enjoy the other seasons.
Thank you for sharing your peaceful cabin with us.
Linda F.Nov 2016
This was an absolutely delightful spot to stay - We were blessed by a rainy weekend and the sound of the rain on the skylights was magical. It was quiet, the beds were great, the view of the lake is magnificent. Having wifi was an added bonus.
Deb R.Nov 2016
I am very pleased with the Fir Peace house. Has a wonderful view of the lake. The surroundings was very peaceful. We had a group of 10 and everyone liked it.
Shannon Y.Oct 2016
The property was so secluded it as like a private retreat. We loved being able to sit on the dock and around the fire pit and we were the only ones there! We had an opportunity to reconnect with our grown children with no outside interruptions. We went antiquing and played in the near by water. Heceta Head and Devil's Churn were spectacular. There were 9 adults and a baby and it fit our family perfect.
Nayef A.Sep 2016
Recommend to all, had a wonderful time, Great location clean spacious house, Would definitely go back. 5/5!!
Mary B.Sep 2016
Overall, a great location with lots of room. It was wonderful sitting outside by the lake. Perfect for kayaking!
Irina Y.Sep 2016
We had lots of fun. Beautiful view!!!!
Kim L.Jul 2016
We love this place and have stayed here a few times now. It's perfect for our medium sized family and it's located in the most idyllic spot on the lake. Unfortunately each year we go to book, the cost continues to increase above and beyond what seems reasonable, with 2017 rates pretty much securing that we will not be able to return. Very frustrated and sad to have to leave a place we dreamed of visiting every summer.
David H.Jul 2016
We had a great time. Just what we expected!
Karen S.Jul 2016
Our family filled all the beds and enjoyed two days of sun and water play. I recommend this property for families who enjoy boating and floating.
Heather M.Jun 2016
We had a power outage and the local rep was very helpful on doing everything he could to help speed the process up of getting our power back on, even coming down to check on us!!
Ruben L.May 2016
We had a great time. View from inside is good and the house is cozy. Fire pit was great for sitting around with the family. Unfortunately we only caught one fish from the dock all weekend, but we had a good time sitting around with bait in the water.
Abdullah A.Feb 2016
Maintenance, quality of furnishings, amenities, and cleanliness of the property are poor. Other than these, everything was great!
Thank you for your feedback; we will advise the owner of your comments. We are glad to see that you enjoyed your stay!
Bill S.Dec 2015
This is a great location right on the lake. Be sure to bring your paddle craft. They have a dock on the property. The house is well set up for up to 10 people to be comfortable. It has great outdoor space. Be aware the first night in the house will be cold if the weather is cold. We spent our first evening in a 50 something degree living room. Heat was fine after the first day.
Some of the beds are not as comfortable as they should be. Some of our party found their bed to uncomfortable to get much sleep.
The extra cabin is a nice feature.
Ray D.Oct 2015
Six family members spent the weekend for a birthday. We spent the time enjoying the view, playing games and having a fire in the fireplace. We brought wood as suggested and were VERY glad we did. it added a lot. Weather was great. plenty of room for all and then some, Thank you
Karen E.Oct 2015
Our family loves this spot. There's easy access to the lake with lots of wildlife to see. It is just a quick drive from Florence where great restaurants and quaint shops await you. When you return to the property you can relax by the fire or watch a game on the tv. Every appliance you could need is there including a coffee maker, waffle iron, slow cooker, mini food processor, and an iron. It is very clean and tucked away in the trees where you feel secluded from the chaos of the world.
Kathleen T.Sep 2015
Having stayed in many rental properties all over Oregon and beyond, I have to say this one is special. The location alone put a smile on my face. It reminded me of a loved family vacation spot that I grew up going to as a kid. The dwelling is not fancy, but comfortable, light and bright. The extra cottage was perfect for our 3 generation gathering. A beautiful spot to enjoy the outdoors.
Lynn S.Sep 2015
Our family spent four nights and had a fantastic time. Lots so room to be a group but many quiet spots to have a little solitude. 100% agreement that we want to come back.
Michelle G.Jun 2015
Perfect place for a weekend with family. Great location.
Susan B.Jun 2015
Beautiful setting, great place for families with kids. Close to town and dunes.
Bring mosquitoe repellent.
Zelda A.Mar 2015
What lovely surroundings! The cottage is so cute and was warm. Having 5 bedrooms for our family was delightful. Each couple had their own room. The view facing the Lake from the A frame was delightful. The management stocked everything. We had plenty of toilet paper, paper towels, kitchen gadgets, blankets, etc. Next time we won't bring so much and take them at
their word. We will definitely stay here again.
Dennis W.Dec 2014
We will be back.
Danita C.Sep 2014
The pathways and entry into the water was spectacular and is not clear in photos.
The weather was good so we really enjoyed being outside.
Rose M.Jul 2014
A perfect spot for our family vacation and we will be back!!!!!
Stephanie A.Dec 2013
It's a lovely area and a great place to get away from it all. Florence is such a great place if one wants to get back to civilization.
