Find romance, relaxation, and stunning scenery at this Fort Bragg retreat, a studio-style cottage with a dramatic oceanfront position, a private deck and firepit with views of the water, and a wondrous location for exploring the Mendocino Coast.
Artfully draped in ivy and set amongst the pines, this cottage is beautifully secluded on six oceanfront acres that it shares with one other home. Take morning walks one-mile up the road to the Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens, admire the colorful shores of Glass Beach just beyond downtown Fort Bragg four miles north, and peruse the many art galleries in Mendocino eight miles south.
Whether you're celebrating a honeymoon, a birthday, or a quiet weekend of solitude, you'll find rich colors and beautiful European style in the redecorated living space. Use the coffee maker, teapot, mini-fridge, and microwave to start the day in the kitchenette, read the morning newspaper at the picnic table on the deck, and keep your eyes peeled for passing whales, osprey, and harbor seals.
Use the free WiFi to make plans for the day ahead, or simply drive aimlessly on the spectacular coast of California Highway 1. Come home in the afternoon to unwind in front of the cable TV, take a luxurious nap in the Louis XVI bed, and head outdoors to watch the sunset from the pair of oceanfront lounge chairs. Pour yourself a glass of wine, throw a few logs on the firepit, and spend the evening stargazing as the ocean waves crash below.
Come and experience the unmatched wonder of the Northern California Coast - leave your worries behind you at this gorgeous Fort Bragg cottage! A damage waiver, covering up to $2,000 of accidental damage to the property or its contents, is included in the cost of your reservation.

Such a quiet tranquil place. Just a few minutes from downtown Fort Bragg and Mendocino. Wonderful deck to sit on to watch the waves crashing, fishing boats and sunset while reading.

The minute you drive through the gate to this beautiful property it takes your breath away. Unbelievable views that make you really appreciate what God has created. Le Faux is lovely and cozy and romantic.

Cute little chalet! Felt like we were in France with the Pacific Ocean in our front yard! Great setting and location to Mendocino and the Botanical Gardens.

We stayed here for 2 nights in July and found the views outstanding and the cottage well equipped. As other reviewers have said, the pictures make it appear that the main house is farther off than it is (firepit is very close to main house), but the owners left us completely alone, so we felt comfortable having a fire one night and drinking our coffee on the deck without being disturbed. The location is very convenient to downtown Mendocino and Fort Bragg, but away enough to feel secluded. Ultimately, a great place for a laid back couple to spend time together.

Great property , beautiful view! Very quaint and warm feeling. Was raining during our stay so couldn't use the firepit outside but will be back again!!

We had an AMAZING time at Le Faux this past weekend. It's the perfect getaway-- peace and solitude with amazing ocean views, a beautiful cottage, with comfortable bedding, towels, robes, etc. The two highlights of my weekend were sitting out on the picnic table enjoying a cup of coffee while the sun rose over the ocean, and then enjoying the sunset while enjoying a glass of local wine from Anderson Valley. The cottage is only about 10-15 minutes away from Mendocino, and about the same distance from Fort Bragg, so there are lots of options of things to do, but you may not want to leave the cottage!

We loved everything about Le Faux! It had everything we wanted and was even decorated for Christmas. The views are breathtaking.

this is the perfect cottage. small but perfect for two people, gorgeous decorations, bed is like sleeping on a cloud, huge windows to view ocean from inside, and short walk out front door to the lounge chair that sit on a cliff overlooking the crashing waves. quiet, secluded, nestled in grove of trees so you feel like you're miles from civilization. possibly my favorite spot I've found for a romantic getaway.

We loved the sunrises and sunsets from our special patio by the sea. The cottage was comfortable and well-appointed. The home owners nextdoor couldn't have been more welcoming while respecting our privacy. We enjoyed eating several meals on the deck and more wine than we care to admit on the chaise lounges by the sea.

Perfect little cottage with an amazing view!

We loved the ambiance and decor; however, the garbage can under the bathroom sink (the largest in the cabin) when opened smelled strongly like a bad baby diaper. Other than that our stay was very enjoyable. The view and positioning of the cabin is excellent.

This place has such a warmth in it that you will find yourself at peace all the time. The cabin is so beautifully furnished and is right next to the ocean side. We had a truly blissful experience.
Be careful you will run out of your phone network at this place, but you get to connect to free wifi though.

A little heavy on the "fees". $60 for a cleaning fee for 2 nights, and we were asked to wash our own dishes. Booking and cleaning fees boosted the overall stay by $200. The accommodations were nice and clean. Ancillary charges dampened the overall value. Needs improvement...borderline gouging.

We were so happy to find this gem perched right on the Pacific Ocean. Owners were in the main home but the were very respectful of our space - next time can't wait to meet Tanya! We will be back soon!
