Discover an architectural wonder on the shores of the Back River at this two-bedroom Boothbay home, a geodesic dome house with a dog-friendly interior, a shared dock nearby, and a beautiful deck that overlooks the water.

The Dome House is perfectly secluded on two acres of dense woodlands, at the end of a gravel road that leads to the banks of the Back River. Launch your kayak from the communal dock a quarter-mile down the road, take a morning stroll through the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens one mile north, and play an afternoon round of golf at the Boothbay Harbor Country Club three miles east.

Begin each morning with a sunrise paddle from the shared dock, and come home to prepare breakfast in the sun-lit kitchen (with a dishwasher). Bring the newspaper outside to the expansive back deck, take a scenic 14-mile drive up to Wiscasset or along Maine Route 1, and spend the evening grilling and dining on local haddock with a view of the Back River.

The Bed was comfortable!

The view from the deck is really great during high tide. The kitchen area is very nice and had everything we needed for some meals during our stay. The beds were comfortable. The place was cleaned, but it had a musty smell that we couldn't seem to air out.

We are a family of four and we really liked staying at this surprising gem at the East coast of the United States. This stay in Boothbay was part of a trip around New England, and we really found what we had looked for. The house looked exactly like on the pictures, with a lovely designed interior, and beautiful terrace/patio and a well equipped kitchen. It was easy to find and has access to the sea, which is about 200 m or so away.

Secluded and peaceful

We enjoyed our stay at the dome house. It is comfortably set up with a nice layout. It is very private, at the end of a dirt road. Nice water view. We stayed in most nights and cooked at home so it was nice to have the grill. The community dock made it easy to get our kayaks in the water and it was nice to be able to leave them there so we could hop in when the tide was right. There is a Hannafords just 8 minutes away and downtown Boothbay Harbor is just 10 minutes. We love the kayak rental place downtown where we rented an extra kayak for one day. The only complaint we had is that the toaster oven did not work and we had brought lots of bagels but had no way to toast them.
