Cute, dog-friendly home w/ deck, ocean view, & beach access across the street

Watch magnificent sunsets over the Pacific Ocean at this two-bedroom Seal Rock escape, a darling manufactured home with a dog-friendly attitude, a deck that overlooks the water, and outstanding beach access only a short distance away.

This single-level home enjoys a spectacular perch in view of the ocean, just across Highway 101 from Seal Rock State Recreation Site. Beach access awaits at Northwest Cross Street. Wake up each morning to observe the local seals and black oystercatchers on the beach, explore the countless wonders of Brian Booth State Park (two miles north) and Driftwood Beach State Recreation Site (three miles south), and spend a day (or several) at the Oregon Coast Aquarium in Newport nine miles north.

The interior living space is sweet and inviting. Unfold a board game on the plush carpeting, snuggle up on the sofa or armchair with a good book, choose a movie from the DVD library to watch on one of the three TVs. Watch streaming Internet channels on the 50" TV in the living room or in the master bedroom.

Wake up each morning to use the free WiFi to check the tides, and hit the nearby tide pools in search of rare sea cucumbers and giant green anemones. Come home to toss your salty clothes in the private washer/dryer, prepare a homemade breakfast in the full kitchen (with a dishwasher), and read the morning newspaper outside on the sun-splashed deck. One dog is even welcome to join you, but please note that a small nightly pet fee applies.

We loves the place

Cute little private home. With everything you need! Close to a lot of fun things but private enough to have some quiet family time. This will be one that my family will definitely come back to! Thanks Captain for making a wonderful beach cabin for others to enjoy. There is also a lot of history and pictures throughout the cabin of "The Captain".

We loved being right across the road from the ocean with big waves crashing over the haystacks and a beach for walking. The bed was very comfortable and the place was equipped with everything you would need. The place was very spacious.

The home is lovely, nicely decorated and feels like a real home. Well laid out. The kitchen has enough dishes and pans to making eating in easy,, But most of all we loved the view!! We are already planning our next stay here.

Loved bringing my family here. Right across hwy 101 from a super sweet spot of beach with amazing tide pools and seals lounging and swimming around. There is a super easy access to the beach about a block north on 101 next to the Seal Rock RV sign. And if you drive 2 minutes north you can use the state park entrance which provides beautiful views of the beach. The house was cozy and inviting. Lots of games, books, fair amount of movies and tv selection. Lots of comfy places to sit and unwind. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils but there was no pantry for seasonings or spices just fyi. Would have loved some tea or hot chocolate options instead of just coffee and could have used some house porch furniture but other than that the place was perfect for two young boys and mom and dad. Beds were comfortable. Sweet electric fireplace added to the vibe. Place was clean. Really appreciate the value for the price and the proximity to the beach and aquarium! Would stay again.

The location was absolutely perfect and the house made me feel like I was staying at my Grandma's house, very cozy. The view and walk down to the beach was awesome as well!!

We loved being close to Newport and Florence which are wonderful. The beach across the street is part of a State Park which has great tide pools which we love, coming from the desert.
The accommodations are great and we were very comfortable. The house was very clean and supplied with more than ample supplies of supplies needed for basic living needs.

The first night we had no wi-fi but the next morning we called the number on the desk and they responded quickly and had the minor problem fixed by afternoon with no interuption in service to us.

Very clean, comfortable. No internet, no phone service, no pantry items, extremely small amount of dish soaps and laundry detergent, no grill. Basics for dishes, pans and utensils, with some things missing.
Nice collection of games... needs books other than romance novels... maybe some young adult and children's books, maybe a few mysteries... Had good books on history and believe it or not.
Manager response:
We apologize the internet was out during this stay and would have happily assisted this guest had they notified us. The internet is currently working well, and we have advised the owner of the other comments. Thank you!

We just spent a week in the Captain's Cabin with our two kids (1 and 6) and my 75 year old mother. We were surprised at how well the house was stocked. They have tons of games, movies, books, and toys for both the kids and adults. There was even a bucket of sand toys. We loved being able to walk through the RV park to use the safer trail to get down to the beach. It was a 5 minute walk to one of the best beaches on the Oregon Coast (tide pools at low tide and a fun stream for the kids to play in). We had everything we needed at the Captain's Cabin. If you have small kids: please not that there is no gate on the porch and Hwy 101 is very close. We had to barricade the porch with our cooler because the 6 year old would sometimes forget to close the front door. Also, we had to put a very breakable items up high so that our toddler wouldn't break them or knock them over. Otherwise, the kids were very comfortable there and loved it. The front porch is a great place to relax at the end of the day to watch the sunset over the ocean and listen to the waves (and sometimes the harbor seals). We plan to come back again next year!

great location, only minutes from Newport which has everything!! older manufactured house, great view, no cell service in house you have to leave the property. WiFi good, beds comfortable. kitchen adequate. No cable and what they have on TV I'm sure is good for the younger techno savvy generation, no instructions for us old folks.

Perfect for our family vacation to the coast!

Cute nautical decor. Plenty of room especially for a modular home. Clean and a great view. You will be right off of Hwy. 101 and close to the RV campground.

This is a great place with great views across Pacific ocean...a real home from home.....and great value for money
Kristopher S. May 2018
My family and I stayed here for three nights, and it was a perfect home for us. Big enough so we all had our space, a beautiful view of the rocks and ocean out the living room window, and centrally located in regards to many of the coast attractions. Would definitely stay here again.

This is a really lovely spot to come and relax at the beach. You won’t regret staying here!

Perfect little house for our family of 6. The house is older but well maintained. The kids loved that there was board games and puzzles for them to play with. I loved that there was 3 different TVs in the house so the kids and adults could watch their own thing when winding down at the end of a busy day. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes, pans and utensils you need to cook and enjoy a meal as a family.

Cute home with an awesome view! Right between Newport and Waldport. I would recommend this place☺️
