This secluded home features rich furnishings and high-end appliances, as well as plenty of natural light. The magnificent stone hearth is home to a wood fireplace, keeping everybody cozy after a day of skiing.

While you may feel secluded up in the mountains here, Durango's dining and entertainment is only a few miles away. We loved spending time on the deck, enjoying the lake-view, and watching birds and butterflies. Hawk Perch is a lovely house and shows owners' love of their enviroment and attention to detail. It doesn't have A/C for warmer summer months. However, nights were cold in June when we were there. We kept the windows open during the night that cooled the house for the rest of the day. This house is close to stores and is a half-hour to an hour drive from most prime hiking locations. The beds are on the very soft end of the spectrum: it is a personal preference whether you will find it comfortable or not. The kitchen is well stocked, and the house is very spacious and beautifully designed and furnished. We had some issues with the dryer and cleanness of the kitchen supplies that couldn't be fixed during our stay (due to Vacasa's extreme amount of calls due to COVID). Vacasa wrote back to us that these issues will be taken care of as a priority, and they returned our cleaning fee for the inconvenience. We very much enjoyed our stay in Hawk Perch. Thank you for having us.

The view and feeling serene privacy will always be in the memories and be missed now that we're home. We had a couple questions come up that were answered quickly completely by Vacasa staff.

We enjoyed our stay at Hawk Perch very much. Amenities are fantastic and the home is beautifully appointed. We grilled steaks and had a wonderful family meal our first evening there. We also saw quite a few deer and lots of stars sitting on the cool wrap-around deck in the evenings. Our only complaint is that it was very warm in the home pretty much the entirety of our 3-night stay. When I rented the home, I did not realize that it had no air conditioning. It ran between 85-90 degrees inside the home during the day while we were there, even with the windows open. It did cool down by the early morning hours to around 75, but the temperature quickly climbed once the sun was up. Thankfully, we had some activities planned during the days we were there, so were not home during the hottest part of the day, except for the first day we arrived. All in all, it is a wonderful home in a nice location, and we would definitely stay there again...just maybe next time in the fall or spring when it's not quite as warm! ;-)

The Hawk Perch was an extremely nice house located not far out of Durango. We stayed there for five nights and enjoyed each and every night. The only drawback was there is no air conditioning in the house and it was a little warm. There were some box fans there to put in the windows and this helped quite a bit. It did take some time to cool down the house each night. Other than that we enjoyed the house. I would recommend staying there.

Wonderful fireplace after a fun day of skiing. Close to town for a short drive to get a meal.Great place to stay. Hope to return in summer.
