We’d stay here again, given the nice location surrounded by woods and given it’s dog friendly. It’s perfect for 2 or 3 people, maybe a bit more, but you’d have a hard time cramming 6 people here given the beds are small and two of the beds are bunk beds. Note to Vacasa that the dryer knob was broken so we couldn’t use the dryer.

The address posted on the listing doesn't actually take you to the right place, got very confused until I realized it is missing "Drive" at the end of the street name, and neither Google or Apple maps could figure that out.

There was a bad odor (smelled like animal urine) coming from both the master bedroom (not sure if it's the carpet or bed), and
coming from couch upstairs, stains everywhere on carpet.

If there is Air Conditioning in the home, it does not work. Temperature was relatively uncomfortable the whole day, can't imagine how much worse it is on a hotter day.

Bed in master bedroom was not comfortable, they clearly bought the cheapest possible sheets as they were rigid, and uncomfortable.

Kitchen/bathrooms were clean, although shower has the worst shower head imaginable

I've rented another condo in the same complex previously and it was much more comfortable, clean, and cared for. Overall it was a place to stay in a nice area so it's 'fine' but I feel I really overpaid for a property that isn't very cared for.

We had a great time here! It made a great "home base" for a weekend at Northstar. Much faster internet than some of the places we've stayed in the past, and a reasonably well-equipped kitchen. It was great to be able to bring the dog with us, too!
John C. Oct 2019
Perfect for what we needed. Would have been nice to have coffee available with coffeemaker. Had to run twice to Starbucks in village instead.

The Positives:
The location is good for exploring the Northshore of Tahoe. Very close to Truckee and Kings Beach, and easy to get to Tahoe City.

We were happy to be able to bring the pooch.
The 2 queen beds are comfortable. TV system easy.
Kitchen is fairly well equipped but was lacking hot pads and kitchen towels. The gas grill was handy! Bathrooms are nice.

The not so Positives:
The carpet is so filthy that we all wore socks the whole time. I called right away to inform Vacasa, as I did not want to be held responsible since I brought my dog. It needs to be cleaned ASAP or ripped out and replaced. Yuck.
Don't recommend doing much laundry as the dryer is terrible - took 3 cycles to dry a small amount of clothing so we didn't do any more loads.
The bunk bed situation is uncomfortable if you have older kids - mine are teens and you can barely get the door open because room is tiny. The washer/dryer is in there, as well - it's a bit bizarre and my kids felt claustrophobic in there.
There were a few things that need fixing - I called to have porch light fixed and repair guy came when we were gone and just left 2 lightbulbs - which wasn't the problem.
Kitchen is missing the screen so you cannot open window. No pot holders or kitchen towels.
One of windows in living room won't open. Porch was filthy - both floor and chairs - I had to clean to even use it - not what I want to be doing on my vacation. There is no broom so had to use a towel.
Lots of cobwebs. Overall they need to go in and give this place a deep clean. We didn't let it ruin our vacation but it definitely needs some sprucing up.
Manager response:
Thank you for your comments and feedback. We will address your feedback with the local staff. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you and your guests.
Kathie D. Aug 2019
The kitchen needs some attention. The silverware was non existent, no dish towels or potholders. There wasn’t any salt or pepper, cooking oil or spices... it was pretty bare. The carpet needs cleaning. The beds and seating were comfortable and the cable was good.
Manager response:
Thank you for providing us with feedback from your recent stay. We will bring the silverware, dish towels/potholders to the attention of the local staff. As well as the cleanliness of the carpet. Our homes do not have any perishable items kept for use (salt/pepper, coffee, cooking oil, etc.).

Warm bed, cozy place, great night sleep! No complaints. Fireplace burns real wood (not electric) so if you're into burning real wood in a fire place you'll enjoy it. We didn't have any wood so would have preferred an electric fire place.
Jana M. Mar 2019
We spent 3 nights here during March to ski. It was very convenient - shuttle picks you up in the parking lot and you can kind of ski back. The condo itself was comfortable. We only had 3 adults - it sleeps 6, but 2 need to be children who sleep in bunk beds. I'd stay there again.
Patrick C. Dec 2018
Close location to Village (1 stop with shuttle). Well appointed condo with fully equipment kitchen. I think the lighting system could be improve in the main/ upstairs dining/ living room area. we would come back again!
Aaron F. Jul 2018
Great layout for family and the tranquil surroundings were just what we needed. We especially enjoyed the babbling stream in the background behind the unit:) The village was just a short walk up and there was also a shuttle. The condo was cute, clean and met all our needs.
robert S. Jul 2018
Like the location close to Northstar Village, just a short walk. Not for families that want to cook. Man items missing in the kitchen.
Not as clean as I would have liked and no fan upstairs.. Very warm mid day. No outside chairs or tables for the balcony.i
Jennifer Y. Jul 2018
We loved the location of this place. Easy 5 minute walk to Northstar and all its amenities.
Place was clean and wi-fi worked well for those who want/have to stay connected.
John W. Mar 2018
I think this place is great in and of itself. However, my biggest disappoint was my expectation of it being ski-in/ski-out and it turning out to not being the case. You in fact either have to take the free shuttle or drive in order to get to the lifts. The other amenities advertised, hot tub, recreation center, etc., are equally far. This is especially disappointing when you consider the costs associated, I was expecting it to be exactly as advertised.
Other than that the place was advertised and has everything as you would need. It is comfortable and cozy.
Manager response:
We are sorry for any disappointments caused by our description of the home. We will remove the 'ski-in/ski-out' part of the description since there is not enough snow this season to make it possible. The amenities described are located next to Northstar Village and are shared as mentioned. Thanks!
Lori L. Jan 2018
We lived this condo. It was walking distance to the village. The condo was clean and cozy. We will absolutely be back.
Alice S. Nov 2017
It was just right for our family of 4 and dogs. It was convenient to the village and rec center as well as hiking trails. The visit went smoothly, as the kitchen was well equipped. For more than 4 people, it would be possible, but the bunk bed set up on the laundry room was tight. Bunk would be OK for kids. The 2 bedrooms with queen beds were comfortable. We enjoyed using the rec center with pool, hot tubs and arcade. The dogs loved their first visit to the snow. Thank you for being pet friendly! Only bummer was there was no DVD player as advertised, but we were able to find a movie to stream using the wi-fi.
Wendy B. Aug 2017
Quiet place among the trees. Loved the fireplace. Very comfortable beds
Joseph H. May 2017
Nice and cozy, in the forest, great BBQ, Clean, Quiet. peacefull. I would rent again and recommend to others
Carolyn Q. Apr 2017
Great dog friendly rental that is convenient to access Northstar.
Frank T. Mar 2017
The unit is a nice unit in a great location. Although it is not really ski-in/out, a shuttle does show up within ~5 minutes when called. The unit has nice and comfortable furniture, a nice kitchen and bathrooms, and a great view.
Lisa P. Jan 2017
We were very comfortable in the unit despite an epic snowstorm! The property is well maintained and appointed. This particular unit was a bit of a hike from the parking lot and with copious amounts of snow, getting our luggage and groceries in was laborious. If you can, take a collapsible wagon to limit the trips in the winter.
Jennifer C. Jan 2017
We really enjoyed our 4 night stay right after the new year. We were lucky to make it up to Tahoe before the storm began and enjoyed all the fresh snow! The cabin itself was spacious for our family of four and our dog. We utilized the shuttle service to get to and from the Village as well as the Rec center. The Rec center was fun, we even enjoyed hot tubbing outdoors while it was snowing! Overall, it was a great stay.
Erika R. Dec 2016
Wesley, our vacasa rep, responded to emails and calls even though it was late at night (around 10 pm). Great and fun weekend!
Kristin & Kevin L. Aug 2016
The location of this condo is excellent. Loved having the Northstar shuttle service right there. We had a quick but very good stay.
John P. Jul 2016
We were only here two nights, before and after a MTB race. The reservation and check in were seamless. The unit was neat and clean as advertised.
Angela S. Jul 2016
This is in a great location. Had everything you need and more.
Sakhone S. Jun 2016
I liked the the place very much. It was very nice and clean. What I liked most was that there's a nice hiking trail in the back that was very convenient. The only complaint I have is that the bedrooms are downstairs and the kitchen and living room are upstairs so You can pretty much hear every time someone is walking upstairs which is bothersome when you're trying to sleep or relax in the bedroom.
Varun B. Apr 2016
Great place! Perfect location! And it snowed one of the days while we were here, so we had plenty of snow to play around with. :)
Jonathan W. Apr 2016
The condo is very comfortable. The location is great for any activity that you could think of doing at Northstar. Will visit again soon.
Sheri F. Apr 2016
Great location for a ski trip. The shuttle service to the lodge was a bonus. The lodge have free lockers to keep the skis in for the next day if there was not enough to ski to the condo. Make hauling everything an ease. Just a great location
Melinda G. Mar 2016
We had a very nice stay - the condo was warm and cozy and I was able to take my two Schnauzers with us which meant a lot.
Tammy T. Feb 2016
A few things to know about this condo.

The good: 1) It's all about location. There's a little back path you can take to the Village. It's literally a five minute walk and it's next to a little creek. It's beautiful in the snow. 2) The condo was comfortable. The beds were fine. 3) The game room at the owners assoc. looked like fun but we never ended up going. There was no pass in the condo, though, so call prop manager if you want it. 4) It was very dog friendly. 5) This condo is all about location. I would say this is a good condo, as long as you are aware of the things below.

Things you should know: 1) There are appliances in the kitchen but you need to bring everything else. There are no basics like olive oil or salt or aluminum foil, etc. (There is pepper and some herbs.) 2) The heater cycles off for only about a minute at a time, so it runs basically 24/7, even when turned down to a low temperature. Then the A/C goes on . . . 3) In the main bedroom when the heater cycles on at night, it makes a sound like a marble on a tin roof for a while. I only noticed this at night. 4) The dryer doesn't cycle off and also doesn't get very hot. It took 4 hours to dry a very small load with a few pair of long underwear and socks. 5) There is a fireplace but wood is not provided. Most places I've seen have at least some wood, and the book that's in the condo says there should be one first batch of wood. I called and the prop manager had a starter batch brought over. It took a day for it to be delivered. 6) There was no parking permit in the condo and I forgot I needed one, so I got a ticket. 7) Re prop manager, the response time isn't quick, so make sure you don't wait until something is urgent to call. 7) Internet was very slow.
John V. Jan 2016
This condo was perfect size for me, my husband, 5 year old, and parents. But anymore would be too crowded. Location was great and very clean and cozy!
Casey K. Oct 2015
This property was very clean and located close to North Star. The drive to Kings Beach is also not very far from this property. Perfect place for a family or group of friends to use. I would highly recommend!
Miranda L. Oct 2015
This was a great place to stay, has everything that you need. Very comfortable! Everything from booking to checking in and out was nice and easy.
Aaron E L. Aug 2015
4 stars if parking permits weren't a pain a 5 star stay
Debra B. Jul 2015
This particular unit is clean and updated and an easy walk up to the Village for adults and young kids alike. The idea is to leverage the amenities of Northstar at reasonable lodging prices.
Amy H. Apr 2015
The kitchen is very well equipped and pleasant to make meals in. We enjoyed the coziness of the fireplace. We brought plenty of extra wood and kindling and were glad we did. The internet connection was fine despite what others have said. The beds and furnishings were very comfortable. We were very pleased be able to have our canine critter with us during our stay.
Yvette V. Apr 2015
Great location with walking distance to the Village. Fun walking through the near by trees and creek. You feel as if you are camping with the convenience of a condo and Rec Center.
Elizabeth B. Mar 2015
We stayed here with 2 preschoolers for a late spring ski trip and had a great time! The condo is really clean, and has some bunk beds in the laundry room that worked great for our kids. It is really easy to walk or shuttle up to the Village from the condo, and Northstar is SO family friendly. Thanks for making our stay so easy!
Lena K. Feb 2015
We really enjoyed our stay here during Feb ski week - very convenient to be able to take a small walk through the back path to both the recreation center (family hot tub, heated pool) and the village. The bunk beds in the laundry room was a huge plus as we had two 6 year-olds who liked their own space. The two downstairs bedrooms, each with a queen and 2 full bathrooms were great as well, very private. The kitchen/DR/LR open format was perfect for making dinner and watching the kids at the same time. We look forward to coming back next year!
Manager response:
Thank you for your kind review. It's so nice that your family enjoyed your stay in this lovely home. We're pleased that the kids enjoyed nearby parks and all the great amenities this home has. Thanks for making memories with us!
Michael A. Dec 2014
Overall wonderful Condo. Lots of room. Very clean and easy access to Northstar Ski Resort. The Condo truly is fabulous and it is highly likely we will return this season. Only potential area for improvement would be the internet. The wireless is extremely slow and almost non-existent. But I don't want to give a poor impression. Everything else was truly wonderful.
Marya B. Nov 2014
Things I'd have liked to have known prior to deciding upon this condo are that there's $110 cleaning fee, it's a walk down to the cabin from the parking lot, and noise carries from the upstairs to the bedrooms downstairs. Also, the sauna and hot tub are at a rec center shared by a larger area, not private to this condo association cluster. Otherwise, it was very nice. Very clean. Nicely decorated. And the beds were very comfortable. Kitchen is well-equipped. We had a great time!
Manager response:
Thank you for your review. We do want to let our guests know that cleaning fees will vary from home to home and is affected by the length of the stay. Thank you for choosing Vacasa!
CLARE T. Nov 2014
My hubby and I were looking for a chilled out weekend in Tahoe, and this condo looked ideal. It exceeded our expectations and was very cosy, well decorated and had plenty of space. A huge bonus was that it is pet friendly. The condo is a few minutes stroll to Northstar village and all it's stores, restaurants and bars. We also took a drive to Truckee, Kings Beach, Incline Village and Tahoe City. This is a modern, clean, perfectly located condo and we will definitely be staying here again when the ski season starts. We didn't check out the hot tub or other facilities but they did seem to be pretty closeby.
James H. Oct 2014
Fantastic location with stunning views of the bay. The condo was very clean and seemed to be remodeled recently. We loved the private crab dock and swimming pool. All the restaurants and attractions on the Bayfront were in walking distance. Quite a romantic spot and we will be back for the winter storm watcing. I would recommend this unit to my friends and family.
