1. Centrally located
2. Spacious. Good layout
3. All the basics were great (Internet, heat, showers, etc.)
4. Good communication and support from Vacasa
5. Deck + grill are really nice

1. We picked this place - in part - because it had a piano! So awesome to have one. But, this piano is so out of tune that it's comical. It's unusable at this point. Perhaps Vacasa should note that in the description for the property.
2. There was an unplanned power outage during our stay. Welcome to the world of wildfires. The house had no candles that we could find, and only one tiny flashlight. For safety reasons, we suggest that Vacasa put a few candles and flashlights in there, and document where they are for guests.
3. The TV is a Vizio that has apps for all your favorite streaming services. But the TV is quite old. We found the apps to be so slow as to be unusable. It's not a dealbreaker, but it is a bummer. We ended up just watching on our laptop.
4. There was a bunch of trash around the outside of the house.

We were unlucky and went the same day a PG&E power outage took place but the cabin we cute and charming. We recommend getting a new fridge but appreciated that they did have a box fan given the heat that weekend and we weren't sure there was going to be one. Lovely view from the deck.

I spent 10 days at Forest Bears Hideout. The home is easy to live in - well equipped kitchen, plenty of space to lounge outside and nice amenities like washer and dryer and dishwasher. Unfortunately, due to Covid we did not have access to the HOA lake, but in other times the proximity to the lake would be a real plus. We did find White Pines lake just 8 minutes away and really enjoyed trips Big Tress and to the lakes near Bear Valley. We will be back!

Ok, first, this is a great cabin with an amazing deck off the kitchen. Below is simply feedback that every renter will want to know. Please know that we are not "nit-picky" annoying types with elitist expectations. We had a fantastic time. There are just a few things that need to be fixed/updated/changed:
1. The cabin needs a BBQ! It has charcoal, lighter fluid..but NO BBQ. During the summer guests will want to BBQ on the beautiful deck.
2. While the piano in the living room is beautiful it just has to go! It literally is blocking one of the sliding glass doors that leads to the beautiful deck, and it's blocking the living space of the family room. Beautiful, just NOT the place for it.
3. Deck is amazing, with terrific views.
4. No cold water pressure in the downstairs bathroom, literally none. So, you have to use hot water valve to brush your teeth. Quick, easy fix but needs to be fixed.
5. The photos on the listing give the impression that this property is lakefront. It's not. Fly In Acres Lake is a very short 1/2 mile drive from the house. It's a little, tiny lake that's absolutely perfect for families with sandy beaches, tables and docks to jump from. $5 charge per person to access this lake.
6. The pool/Rec Center pictured on listing is about 2 miles from the house. Just know that there is a $15 per person charge to use the pool/Rec Center amenities. Yes, $15 for young children too.
7. A new, set of pots and pans really are needed. Very inexpensive to replace the very dated existing ones.
8. No cell service at all in Arnold unless you have Verizon. Not necessarily a bad thing (b/c you may be disconnecting when you stay) but just something to know. Yes, you can connect using the property's WiFi but when you leave the house you won't have service until Murphy's
9. The outdoor garbage bin is literally in the driveway, at the bottom of the driveway instead of recessed/off the side. Only important b/c the driveway is already very narrow and steep, so it's very difficult to maneuver a full size truck up the driveway.
10. The loft area and bathroom upstairs is awesome.
11. The property does NOT have A/C. It didn't bother us much. It was 90-94 degrees during our stay. We brought a large fan and ran it in the family room and we were fine b/c it cooled down at night. It would be convenient for the owners/manager to provide a large industrial fan for guest use during summer months.
Again, just important information to know. Great little cabin!

We were only here for 2 days but it was amazing. Clean and comfortable and everything we needed was there.
