This is the worst vacation rental we have ever had by a long shot. The home was in terrible condition with some items definitely not up to code and dangerous.

Our "vacation" began with not being able to get into the home as the lockbox instructions weren't correct. After a long call with Vacasa, we finally figured out how to get the garage open (which ended up being the only point of entry to the home). We entered through a roll-up garage door into a dusty and dirty garage.

Once inside, the situation was worse. We immediately noticed the shottily installed and missing moldings through-out the house, and the badly patched holes in the wall. We tried to ignore these issues and proceeded to the deck to take in the view, only to find rotted railings and benches surrounding the high-bank deck. Thank god our kids weren't with us - these are a serious danger as anyone trying to sit on the bench or lean on the railings would likely have fallen off the extremely high deck and down the bank.

More issues unfolded as we went back in the house: Badly stained and damaged floors. Filthy refrigerator with broken shelves. Fireplace switch didn't work. Missing handles on kitchen drawers (one drawer even came all the way out when we pulled it). The featured jacuzzi tub had a non-functioning drain so there was no way to fill it. Broken indoor and outdoor furniture. Improperly installed door locks and faucets. No easy way to exit the home in an emergency (or at all): you either had to go back out through the nasty garage with the pull-up door, or through a bedroom to an outer door that had a bench blocking it so you had to try to slip around.

On top of all that, the poorly-kept grounds made accessing the beach very difficult and it would be dangerous for a younger or older person.

We called Vacasa again on Friday evening, and also sent an email per their request with pictures. We had nowhere else to go as this is a remote location, so we stayed for one night, but left promptly the next morning. We spoke to another Vacasa agenty before leaving. The property manager followed up Sunday and again took down all the issues. She promised that a manager would call to discuss a refund. It is Wednesady and I still haven't heard from anyone.

This home never should have been listed. It is dangerous and in very poor condition. Whatever you do, do not stay in this house. The photos look great, but it's a disaster. This was anything but a romantic weekend away.
