The villa has a spectacular view and had everything we needed for our stay. That said, we had a great deal of difficulty checking in. The lockbox code we were given did not work and the front door knob was broken (and never fixed throughout our stay). It took multiple trips back down the hill to the front desk (rainy, late night) before we were able to access the property. We almost gave up and looked for another place to stay that night. Be aware the wonderful view here comes at a price: this property is situated on a very steep hillside with narrow roads that are impossible to maneuver without 4WD. Parking is also quite limited and precarious around the villas. Recommend parking once and using the shuttles provided to get back and forth from the house to the pools, beach and resort entrance. We ended up parking evenings at the front desk/mini market area all week for fear we would not be able to get our rental car back up to the top of hill. Also: this is an all-inclusive resort. People using the privately owned villas must bring your own pool towels or pay a daily fee and deposit for a card from the front desk (you can’t do this at the actual pool). If not staying in the hotel, you must also buy individual meal tickets to use the restaurants AND the bars (including the pool bar). Seriously, we could not use a credit card or CASH to purchase a drink or snack while enjoying the pool. Needless to say, we didn’t use the pools again! The villa has a nice little dipping pool that was very refreshing after a muggy day of exploring. This all isn’t a big deal except that no one told us about the all-inclusive system when we checked in, so we learned after packing up and arriving by shuttle for an afternoon by the pool. The resort is lovely, conveniently located to several excellent small beachfront restaurants on Playa Hermosa beach. Fantastic fresh seafood, steaks, ceviche, coffee. Surprisingly good wines at these little spots as well - Argentinian mostly. The kitchen in our villa was well equipped although we only did light breakfast and happy hour sunset snacks there. I recommend this resort with the caveats mentioned about limited services outside of the all-inclusive situation and very hilly terrain. Also be prepared that it takes far longer to drive anywhere in the area than you might think. Example: 3.5 to 4+ hrs to reach Monteverde (cloud forest) just 65-ish miles away. We chose not to go. Recommend an overnight stay there, same for Arunal to the northeast. Seem to be many accommodations from cheap to 5* available in those areas when I searched Hotels.com. Oh, which reminds me. NO wi-fi in the villa. Make sure you have your int’l data plan! Cell coverage good & apps like Waze worked well for navigating sometimes confusing roads/signs.
Thank you for staying with us! In our experience, any vehicle can enter without issue. The Villa Sol amenities are separate from Vacasa, but guests can register at the reception area of Villa Sol to utilize the all-inclusive features. We hope to see you again!

“Tiene una vista muy linda y la atención del personal de Villas Sol fue siempre muy atento. Teníamos suficientes toallas, sábanas, lavadora, secadora, cafetera y todos los utensilios de cocina indispensables. Las villas tienen alberca y acceso directo a Playa Hermosa. ¡Gracias por todo! Nos encantó su país.”

This place was a dream . Pictures don’t do the balcony view justice . The space itself is big & spacious . It’s a short walk to the beach , even shorter ride on the shuttle . The beach isn’t the greatest but it is very nice . My only small issue with this listing is that our WiFi wasn’t working properly for about 90% of the trip . WiFi was important to us in order to continue to plan our trip on the go & locate things close by . Outside of that there were no issues & we enjoyed our stay completely & would recommend 100%

La villa es preciosa, la vista es privilegiada, me encanta que tiene su piscina privada y la capacidad que tiene para grandes grupos, además del equipamiento que es super completo.
Califico con 4 estrellas porque siempre hay algo que mejorar.
