We enjoy this home because of all the extras... the water... the zip line..bu, the home wasn’t as clean as we wished.. the water was low and there was no piece to the zip line so that the kids could not do that... needs some updating but it is big and holds the family so that’s good.

The property is amazing! The design of the home opens to a gorgeous mountain and rapid river/large creek view. The rushing of the water is so serene with the gorgeous backdrop. Every room is cozy and has amazing scenic views. We had great family time together! You will benefit from a 4x4 getting out of the property. Getting in is smooth and easy. You can get out in a front will drive, however, the 4x4 just makes it easy. The gravel is a little loose rounding the top of the hill. Overall, 5 stars! Thanks for sharing this amazing property.

The home is in a beautiful wooded mountain setting. The decks are a beautiful place to start the day with coffee & an amazing place to view the stars at night. The house is large enough for large families to spread out. We loved the natural light & windows - the huge windows in the kitchen give you a great morning view for cooking breakfast. The large dining table was perfect to spread out with one of the many board games in the house. We enjoyed a family movie one night from DVD selection. The outdoor show was amazing- even in cool weather. Our kids did not want to sleep in the bunk room because it was in basement & master is opposite side of house upstairs so they slept
On couch. Great that the home has kayaks , canoes & paddle boards , Although we did not use. It’s a bit of work to get to the water over the Rocks since the water is damned - just FYI. We still had a great time clicking the rocks & watching the water stream over the rocks. One thing to note - huge, mostly gravel hill With large potholes at top of drive- we almost got stuck in a mini van... a small car would struggle! The zip line was fun for kids but it’s a rough landing/ I would recommend an adult at the end to help & probably not perfect for young kids! Overall we really enjoyed the home!
Thank you for staying with us! We are glad you enjoyed the home. We are sorry you encountered issues with the driveway during your visit. We take guest feedback seriously, and I have passed this along to the local staff so they can review and update the home as needed for future guests. We look forward to hosting you again!

A large, lovely home in a gorgeous location. Very well supplied - we played with the kayaks and the inner tubes that were provided right on the river out the back door. And the view from the master bedroom was magical. A great anniversary getaway - and it's so large that we're planning to come back and bring the kids!

This was the most amazing house for our family of 7- 2 adults and 5 kids ages 17-6years. It is one of the most well stocked houses we’ve ever stayed in with any and every kitchen gadget you could think of including spices! What puts it over the top is the location and amenities included. This house sits above a small river and comes with kayaks and canoes for you to use along with life jackets and also tubes. We loved exploring the grounds and had fun on the swings and zip line. The blueberries on the bushes were delicious. Can’t say enough good things about this home- just wonderful. We spent our days venturing out to the numerous waterfalls- the house had maps for our use. It was a lovely refreshing time before school starts- we hope to come back again!

We loved the house--it was inviting and commodious. We vacation every summer, a kind of family reunion with kids as young as 7 up to 16, then us old folks like me, 73. This house is a five-star house, but we felt we had been mislead by the advertising that the house was on a lake. Because of work on the dam, there hasn't been a lake for a while, so we felt mislead! [and we had hauled kayaks etc. from Tennessee and from all parts of NC anticipating that lake]. Also, the house was not so clean as it should have been--stains in the carpet, general lack of deep cleaning in the kitchen. Despite that, we LOVED the house. It was wonderfully located for what we like to do--hiking and water venues. It accommodated us beautifully providing private rooms and a bunk-house. The kids loved it; the grownups loved it. We enjoyed hours on the deck enjoying the view and the wonderful weather. The kitchen was fun to work in [we're foodies!] and the dining arrangements allowed everyone to find a niche. I highly recommend the house to anyone; we hope to go back ourselves.
Hi, Cordelia! Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your experience at Skinny Dippin'. We are sorry to read you were unaware of the low water levels due to the construction on the dam; this information has been added to the home's listing. The carpets have been deep cleaned. We hope to see you again!

This cabin was in a great location on a secluded part of the lake. The water was down so our kids could splash, fish, and use the kayaks provided. We caught a lot of fish and had a fantastic time. We’ll for sure be going back!

We loved everything about this house. It’s clean with nicely updated bathrooms/kitchen. The kitchen was super fully stocked with every kitchen gadget you can need, and the house overall had ample room for everyone to be comfortable anywhere in the house. The access to the river was also great. The water level was very low in the afternoons which allowed the kids to “explore”. They loved it! I’d caution, 4 wheel drive would be very convenient in this home. The drive way is quite steep with mostly gravel driveway.

Beautiful inside and out. Will handle large families with ease. The lake was not there due to seasonal water fluctuation but the kids loved climbing the rocks on the bank. A word of caution. The flow of water can change rapidly. Don't wade across the stream and forget about this fact. If you do you may be stranded on the other side as the water level can rapidly rise. Great location to access Cullowhee or Cashiers.

We had the best time at Skinny Dippin over the past few days. My husband and I have three boys and our friends have three kids as well. We all enjoyed our time there so much. The home is beautiful! We played in the lake every day and used all the toys we could: kayaks, paddle boards, floats, fishing poles, and more! The area is beautiful and the weather was great. Couldn’t have asked for more...except for the fish to bite. Didn’t have much success with the bass and it certainly wasn’t from lack of trying. Regardless, a bad day fishing is better than a good day at work!

Perfect for families. We have the time of our lives!

What is not to love about this location. It sits at the end of a quiet lake. My bride and I were married the evening of Jul 9th, the scenery and atmosphere were perfect. The home is very large with modern appliances and plenty of utensils. Besides the great location to the Smokey Mountains there are a ton of local day hikes to many of nature's wonders. The main feature for us and the kids ages 2-28 was definitely the lake and the kayaks. I honestly can't say enough about the home and its location. I almost forgot my favorite thing about Skinny Dippin, we had NO cell service or wifi, it was perfect.
Ps. I would recommend trimming some of saplings along the lake, they're encroaching on the view.

The website does not do it justice. They leave out the 5 kayaks the canoe and all the float toys for the kids all of whom are safely enclosed in the many life jackets provided in the house. Closest neighbors are not visible and can not be audibly heard.
Neighbors are far enough about 1/2 mile at closest not to be a bother and to make you feel completely isolated. Wonderful dock located just below the house to tie the boats up to or to spend the day fishing with an ice chest full of refreshments Fishing is good there and can be done mostly with night crawlers. Best to cast at least 20 feet from the dock directly in front once hooked or just retrieving your line come back in fast and high to avoid the submerged trees in front and to the sides of the dock. Caught from the dock 2 15 inch trout many bream, yellow perch a small walleye and a variety of not sure what they were. Be patient and they will come. If it's windy or they are not biting switch from float with 2 foot lead to bottom fishing. The kids spent more time outside than they ever do at home just to much for them to do. You might have to instigate the initial activity by jumping in a kayak or hopping into an innertube but they will follow and soon will not need you. Safest place for a kid you could find no cars no neighbors.
PS The house is really nice also. If it's raining which it does there is a very large dining table which is perfect for all the puzzles and board games that are available. Many movies on DVD and large supply of books. The kitchen has every item that you may need. Much more so than any house I have rented.
K if you read this you need to trim the trees just up about ten feet from the deck to get the wonderful view of the lake and the hills back to what it was. Best selling feature of the house. I have rented many mountain homes once but have been here five times. After I'm done and gone the kids will always talk about the times I took them to Skinny Dippin.
Hello Terry, Thank you for your feedback! We'll make sure to get the trees trimmed. We hope to host you again soon!

We loved this home! It was in a gorgeous location, with amenities for all. We were able to mix and mingle amongst ourselves, play and laugh, to TALK. As a mom, that was worth everything. To see the family laughing and talking together is vacation gold! Thank you!
