Excellent experience overall!

We loved the location, the views, the size and scale of the home! It was really all just perfectly perfect!
Mary C.Oct 2019
Could use some newer knives and pits pans in kitchen.
Mary, we appreciate your feedback and we are glad to hear you enjoyed your stay. We will make sure the cookware and utensils provided are sufficient for our guests' needs and will make any updates where needed. We hope to host you again in the future!

Clean, comfortable, lovely kitchen, large living room/dining room space.
I want to especially thank, from the bottom of my heart, whoever allowed our party to arrive at 11:00 to check into the house. We were so grateful, as most of us had travelled there by bicycle and it was shaping up to be a rainy/stormy afternoon and we weren't sure what we were going to do otherwise. It was a tremendous blessing to receive the email that we could arrive at 11:00 that morning. So THANK you, so very much.

The Sunset View House sits on top of a bucolic hill with views of Lopez Village and the ocean in the distance. You are surrounded by the beauty of nature while being at walking distance from the grocery store, the community center and the coffee shops. We enjoyed daily visits from deer, bunnies and singing birds.

Location was great for us -- near village, bike/skate park
Large, level front yard great for kids
Kitchen was very spacious so several people could work in it at the same time
Enjoyed the wrap-around porch.
Enjoyed views from house.

Large home and grounds, spacious kitchen, comfortable bedrooms and quality towels/linens. Quite close to shops.

The home was clean, comfortable and well stocked. located in a quiet area.

We had a great time! So nice to to have the space this house offered especially for the kids with a big yard and a upstairs. Also enjoyed seeing the deer in the yard in the evening and feeling like you were away from everything yet still having a veiw. Being close to town was a plus we walked around and seen Rabbits all over town. This property sits just above town. (side note everything is closed on weekdays at least in off season) but we kept busy. we visited shark reef Sanctuary seen seals, and wondered in the woods, Agate Beach we found some cool rocks, walked Spencer spit and played with drift wood forts, also drove the other spit (sorry can think of name) and could see back across to house. Great time on lopez and visiting other islands.

We live on Lopez and were using the Sunset View House as a place to stay while our house next door is being renovated. It's a very spacious house. My only complaint would be the lack of some kitchen items. While there are a ton of skillets and saucepans in assorted sizes there is nothing (except for one huge lasagne dish) to cook in for small meals. A few old corning ware square dishes would be great. And we couldn't even find a scissors anywhere so we were relegated to tearing things open. The kitchen is huge yet most of the cabinet drawers were totally void of utensils. I chose to buy my regular toilet paper as the paper provided was very rough. They do provide Vacasa labeled soaps and shampoo/conditioner, which is nice. Also has two hair dryers and plenty of towels, Great Laundry facilities! Three bedrooms and a futon plus I noticed about 9 plastic backed air mattresses folded up in the large upstairs closet. So the house could accommodate large families. I would definitely stay here again. Just hoping for more kitchen items.
We appreciate your feedback and will share it with the owners. Thanks, Randall!

This home did not disappoint! It looked in person exactly as it did on-line. It was clean, the kitchen was very well stocked with everything we needed and the layout of the house was perfect for our family. We were also blessed with beautiful sunsets both nights. We can't wait to go back!

Sunset View house has, indeed, incredible views of the sunset over the Sound and neighboring islands. It's directly across a large field from Lopez Village, so coffee and groceries and maybe a nice dinner out are a pleasant stroll away. If you're looking to get away from it ALL, maybe pick somewhere that's more isolated from road and village, but if you're looking to get away from MOST of it, or looking to ignore your car for the weekend, Sunset View House is great.
There's an excellent covered porch here; if you don't mind a little cold, you can spend most of your time out there happily, even in winter. Beds are comfy (though the futon is...a futon), and the downstairs living room is a lovely and comfortable place to hang out. The upstairs living room feels very halfway, and is not comfortable (the futon isn't any better as a couch), though it does have great views. Read or write at the built-in desk and enjoy frequent window breaks, or set up a camp chair up there and rock that sunset.
There were a few issues with appliances during my stay that detracted a bit from relaxing: the TV/DVD/etc combo; the dishwasher; the garbage disposal; the washer. The manager for the property, however, was very available in person and subsequently via phone/text to fix or mitigate. Hopefully, these items will be updated/permanently fixed soon. This is my second stay; I don't recall these problems from my first.
We are sorry to read there were some maintenance issues with your stay, Tara. Our maintenance team has been able to fix all of them, and we hope to see you again so you can enjoy the home to its fullest. Thank you!

This is a great house. Very spacious, clean, comfy beds. It has a great view, when the day is clear. House has a lot of books, videos, and toy to keep you and your family occupied.
The only thing I would suggest is to pre-warm the house in the winter before arrival. When we came to the house, it was freezing (49 degrees), and it took around 3 hours to get to the comfortable temperature.
Other than that we had great experience! Thanks a lot!
Allen J.Oct 2018
Lots of comfortable space. Great location on the Village.
Peggy H.Oct 2018
Excellent location within walking distance of the restaurants and stores in Lopez Village. Plenty of room for 6 of us and great space for cooking and watching the beautiful sunsets.
Chris B.May 2018
This house was perfect for two families to share, with one family upstairs and one family downstairs. A bathroom for each family. Enough separate space to spread out and have privacy, but also lovely large, open shared spaces: living room, dining room, kitchen, and porch with tables to sit out and enjoy the view. Easy walk to village. Great field for our young kids to play outside. Great location and great house on Lopez! We had a lovely, relaxed time there.
Rhea M.Mar 2018
Our group enjoyed not needing a car to participate in a public event and enjoying the village. The sunsets are great, as is the overall view. The house is spacious, clean, well-organized. The only drawback is a slow internet.
Michael W.Dec 2017
Perfect place for our work team to stay
Harold G.Dec 2017
We enjoyed the beautiful views of the sunset and the Village. Being close to the Village was also convenient. Some issues with maintenance of property and adequacy of housekeeping detracted from our enjoyment of the property.
We are sorry to read there were some drawbacks and will follow-up on this. Thanks!
Thomas F.Nov 2017
The house was even better than expected! The pictures don’t do it justice! It’s in a perfect location with beautiful views, a family of deer live in the front yard. The floor plan is excellent and a perfect layout to put your kids down and play some games without them hearing you! Would highly recommend and will definitely return!
Kathleen H.Sep 2017
This home was a perfect fit for 4 adult guests, with its spacious fully-equipped kitchen and comfortable furniture. It was their first visit to Lopez and they will certainly be back. The western view at sunset and into the evening was spectacular!
Soundharya N.Aug 2017
This place is very close to Lopez Village. It's been called Sunset View house. Although Sunset view is visible, in the time we stayed (late August 2017), we saw Sunset behind the trees. The house has enough furnishings. The beds are on the squishy side with respect to our liking of a bit more firmness, but not bad. The large front deck/porch extending to the side as well is well thought out and increases the beauty of the house. Large open land in front of the house with rabbits and deer frequenting really makes it a great place.
Laura T.Aug 2017
The location is absolutely fantastic and there's waaaayyyy more space than we ever would have expected.
Michael M.Jun 2017
The house is an easy walk to Lopez Village.
Jeff C.Jun 2017
For a long time I have thought that Teton National Park was the most beautiful place in the lower 48 states. I think the San Juan Islands rival the Teton's. We love the pace of Lopez Island and the people are very friendly. Sunset house was perfect for our family.
Scott H.Apr 2017
We had a great time, I can't wait to go back and visit Lopez Island
Manish L.Feb 2017
The stay was very relaxing. At this time of the year Sun Shine is not much expected and that's what happened, we stayed indoors mostly as it was cold and windy outside.
That been said, the house was very clean, fully stocked. We were 2 families and we did a lot of cooking and eating and reading and chatting..and watching tv...and relaxing...kids enjoyed as well.
One can imagine how beautiful it would be to watch sunset from the deck with a glass of wine and music. Will sure do it in summers someday - will surely return if I plan to visit Lopez islands.
Ted P.Jan 2017
My family members stayed there and it was close to my cottage, so I could walk there.
Jeffrey M.Oct 2016
Likes: We enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and the wild life. Deer and rabbits were everywhere. The layout of the house was open and inviting. The grocery store in the village was less than 1/4 mile away.
Dislikes: The way it was listed, it appeared that the walk-in shower and one bedroom were down stairs and two bedrooms and a tub were up stairs. The opposite is true so when we arrived with a paraplegic, it was not what we were expecting. Maybe we misread the description or maybe the description was somewhat unclear or ambiguous. Never the less, it was difficult for the paraplegic.
For those with without these restrictions, it is a wonderful relaxed setting. The island is not as "touristy" as San Juan or others. If you want to tour the shops, you'll have to head to Orcas, San Juan.

Great place to stay!!!
Jennifer L.Oct 2016
It was everything we could hope for and more! The photographs don't do the place justice. We were two couples and two teenagers – one boy and one girl. We were all very comfortable in our accommodations. Would love to have stayed longer, to take full advantage of the different sitting spots: large living room, wraparound deck, sitting area outside main bedroom on the second floor, or even just outside on the lawn… Loved the large open fully equiped kitchen with lots of counter space. Very conveniently located. Easy walk to town where one could rent bikes to explore other parts of the island. Hardly needed the car! Really enjoyed watching the many deer roaming the lot. With a grand view of town and bay beyond.
Anne W.Sep 2016
We really enjoyed the convenience of this house. Within walking distance of down town.
Concepcion E.Sep 2016
We had a wonderful weekend here celebrating my husband's 50th birthday with dear friends. We played board games, hung out on the patio, walked on the beach, explored the town a little - glorious getaway!
YAY: The house is great and has really great architectural features like the windows that offer gorgeous views. We loved watching the deer and bunnies right in the front yard. It is aptly named Sunset View House! We enjoyed kicking back on the patio sipping beer at sunset and cleaning out the shells we found on the beach, which was a short walk away.
Lopez Village was pretty much across the street and we had a great time exploring there a little and filling our bellies with pastries and coffee. Visit the Fudge Factory and talk to the lady with the mohawk; she is made of awesome. Blossom Grocery was well-stocked, and the lady who owns the store is pretty much the best.
MEH: The cooking equipment is quantity-over-quality and needs a bit of sorting and updating. Be warned that the hot water ran out after 4 showers, and the thermostat is a little tricky. Bring your own toiletries; there was no soap or shampoo in the house as listed. The cleaners come right at checkout time, so give yourself plenty of time for a final walk-through.
Overall, we loved staying at this house. We will definitely stay here again if our travels lead us back to Lopez Island.
Randy U.Sep 2016
We were very happy with our stay. The house is in a great location, looking across an open field to the small town center of Lopez which is a three minute walk away. The house has three bedrooms and a big central kitchen / dining / living room with a nice open floor plan. Would definitely stay here again.
Leah G.Aug 2016
I felt right at home here. The house was clean, the instructions were printed and left on the bar. The check out rules were considerate.
The layout of the house was great for hanging out with friends. There was a large open concept kitchen with a bar, dining room, and den area in the front of the house so we had plenty of space. The front porch had various options for sitting, dining, or taking in the view of the town and sunset over the water in the distance, or the deer that visit regularly to eat the fallen crab apples from the tree in the field across the way.
The furnishings were beautiful and comfortable, and there were plenty of extra blankets for warmth. The kitchen was stocked with cookware and dishes plus extras. My one suggestion would be to change the shower head in both bathrooms. The showers were not terrible, but could be updated with fixtures that handle low flow more effectively. Oh, and the upstairs shower could use a non-slip mat.
I would definitely stay here again.
Travelers note: The ferry back to Anacortes fills up on Sundays. I'd recommend the 10:45 ferry, or get there 2 hours in advance for the afternoon one. We got stuck on the 6:15 ferry.
Colin L.Aug 2016
Nice place, good location, good Vacasa service.
Cheryl H.Aug 2016
This is a very spacious and lovely home. Kitchen stocked with everything one could need. Loved the view. Beds comfortable. Wifi reception great. Would definitely stay here again.
Jennifer P.Aug 2016
The location, fully stocked kitchen, amazing wildlife in the front yard and quiet location make this a perfect introduction to Lopez Island. We can't wait to return.
Alice N.Jul 2016
We loved our stay at "The Green House". Ample room for five adults traveling together. The kitchen is well appointed, but with great restaurants in town, we didn't cook any dinners at home. Make you way to Blossom Grocery, right across the street, which is well stocked with local produce, wonderful breads, delicious cheese and homemade yogurt. If you pick up a flat of berries in Anacortes before boarding the ferry, you are set. We loved being close to town; wildlife in the front yard (even sighted a Bald Eagle twice from the front porch), and wine on the front deck at sunset. Would definitely return!
Ronald H.Jun 2016
Layout of home was great. Worked well for our family but needs cleaned. If I knew house had been cleaned I would recommend
Holly F.Jun 2016
The property was lovely and well appointed. Great stay.
Cyrill S.Jun 2016
The house was amazing and I will always ask for this house, when visiting the island. It had everything we could have wanted and more. The village is right across the street and walking distance to all it has to offer. The porch was the best place to sit and relax and watch the sun set. I would recommend this house to everyone :)
Katherine D.May 2016
We really enjoyed our stay at this house. We stayed with another family and it was the perfect location for small kids. It felt pretty private but was still within walking distance of town. The house itself is very spacious and the common areas are pleasant to hang out in with a large, open kitchen. They were having a problem with the well when we were there which was not too annoying but you may want to check to see if that has been resolved. The house is also a quick drive to the ferry.
Deonna M.May 2016
Great location and beautiful home!
Catherine B.Oct 2015
A lovely house, with stunning sunsets. It is very spacious and has a very well appointed kitchen. Amazing selection of spices!!!
Make sure you ask if the house was cleaned properly.
Thank you for your review. We apologize that the home did not meet our cleanliness standards; housekeeping management will follow-up on the situation. We are glad to see that you otherwise enjoyed the home and hope you were able to relax on the wonderful patio!
Jim A.Oct 2015
This will be our go-to place to stay when we are again on Lopez Island.
Teddy W.Sep 2015
We had a great time renting this house. The location is perfect and we had everything we needed. The shower could be hotter or have more water pressure and the WiFi didn't work, but those are insignificant to the great time we had at this house.
Steven A.Apr 2015
For a short stay of four friends, the room layout of three bedrooms worked well, the kitchen was well supplied with equipment and some supplies for Easley entry and the roaring fireplace was a delight on a cold, rainy evening when we stayed in with a video. Easy to feel comfortable here.
Thanks for this great feedback! Its excellent to hear that you had everything you needed to make your stay amazing! Thank you for choosing Vacasa.
