Very nice home on Skidder Trail: at Northstar, so great skiing in the winter, and tons of summer activities nearby - hike, ride, float, sunbathe. Well-kept and well stocked home. Enjoy!

We were here before the mountain and golf course opened up again but still a treat to explore Tompkins Memorial Trail right out the door plus plenty of other hiking and biking options nearby and around the Lake. Solid dining out options in charming Truckee but just as fun to cook in the bright, well-equipped kitchen and enjoy meals with a view at the generous dining table. Puzzles, games, smart tvs and ping pong -endless options indoors and out. My favorite though was sitting out on the back deck in the late afternoon, after a full day, looking out at the forest. So peaceful. Plenty of room for kids and grown-ups to hang out together or separately.

Spacious, comfortable house with very nice layout. Sledding, hikes, mountain bike trails directly outside house, easy shuttle access to village. Whole house was very clean and in great condition. Well stocked with everything you needed including sleds. Decks everywhere. No fireplace in the living room, but otherwise an ideal spot.

We had a great time with family and friends at Sleek Hill Haven! We had 5 teens with us who enjoyed their bunk room with all it had to offer and the ping pong table in the garage. Nice! There was not much snow on the ground when we came, so I can not comment on what looks to be like a decent place for sledding if there was snow behind the house. (They do have sleds in the garage.) The house is nice and spacious and had a nice big table for us to eat a meal together. Beds were comfortable and so was the couch in the main living space upstairs, cozy :-). As per the pictures, the furniture is mostly updated and true to the pics, the kitchen and bathrooms are not. That being said the 80's tile is in good shape and so are the appliances. (We used the top oven to bake cookies. It burned some, so the sweet spot is having the rack in the center of the oven.) It was nice to be close to some activities. We went ice skating up at Northstar as well as toured historic downtown Truckee. ( By the way if you missed it in the details on this property, there is a free shuttle to Northstar, although we did not need to use it.) We also went to Lake Tahoe on a hike and had a picnic. The reason I gave this house four stars instead of five is because we had some issues. There were no keys in the lock box that was indicated in the instructions, but the door to the house through the garage was unlocked so we were able to get in. The drain was backing up in the shower of the master bathroom, not fun. We had a gorgeous day in February, so decided to grill hot dogs, but both propane tanks were empty. The DVD player was plugged in but had no cord hooked up to the TV. I think someone must of left a door open when they were cleaning because we kept finding dead flies, no biggie but still.... I will say this, we called Vacasa and Ashley at customer service hooked me up with Tony who quickly fixed our issues. Thanks Tony!! Other than that we had a great time!! I would recommend this place to my friends.
Manager response:
We are glad to see you enjoyed your stay and apologize for the inconveniences you experienced. We did discover the keys had been placed in the backup lockbox, and we apologize for that confusion. The garage code is provided to guests in their confirmation email in case of situations such as this. The drain has been addressed, the cord replaced, and propane refilled. Thank you for staying with us!

From the moment of arrival to the moment we left, the best word to describe our stay is heavenly. The Hill Haven not only has a spectacular view of the valley, mountains, sunsets and nightsky, it provided comfort one can only find when they feel at home.
We were close to several ski mountains which makes its geographical location ideal for winter activities. The Haven is on a large hill which was great for sledding!!!
Overall, we are all 100% satisfied with our stay. The Hill Haven is a must if stay location. No hotel or property I saw would have come close to providing me with the relaxation felt here. Thank you!
