With incredible vistas of the valley, Columbia River, and Mt. Adams, this home is convenient to the best perks of Hood River! You'll feel secluded, yet close to downtown (it's about a mile to all the fun), and enjoy close access to the water and the endless outdoor opportunities this town has to offer!
The open floor plan provides plenty of space to spread out and relax, and also a wonderful environment for bonding with your family or friends. Cuddle up on the two couches in front of the flatscreen TV where you can stream Netflix or watch your favorite DVD. There's a wood-burning stove to keep the place nice and toasty in the winter months, and with six spots at the dining table everyone can enjoy a wonderful meal together!
Any level of chef will adore spending time in the kitchen thanks to the spotless cabinets, countertops, and a large collection of cookware! There's even a dishwasher so no one will have to argue over who cleans up at the end.
Down the hallway, the two bedrooms are airy and open feeling. The master has a queen-size bed perfect for two at the end of the day, and the second bedroom is ideal for a child with a full-size bed and inspiring views of Mt. Adams and the valley. With a futon in the living room, up to five people can comfortably sleep here (with a maximum occupancy of six). There's also one bright, full bathroom with a bathtub.
You'll probably find yourself outside more than inside at this lovely home - the back deck is perfect for evening relaxing or morning breakfast! There are wonderful views, plus, for an additional fee, you can bring up to two dogs here. There's even WiFi and a private washer/dryer, which is in the basement.
This home would be fantastic for a group of friends or a family to rent out together! With its easy one-level layout, it's also ideal for anyone that doesn't want to deal with stairs.
The area has so many wonderful indoor and outdoor activity options to choose from, no matter what time of year. In the winter months, the world-class skiing and snowboarding of Mt. Hood Meadows, Timberline, and Skibowl are all about 35 miles away, so this home would make an excellent (warmer) base for your ski trip.
The Columbia River Gorge is famous for its winds, so kiteboarding, windsurfing, and paragliding are all popular activities here! In the summer months, Hood River fills with athletes and tourists from all over the world looking to get outside. There are tons of hiking and mountain biking trails to choose from, and the Gorge is simply beautiful to gaze at! Hood River also has many cute boutiques, breweries, and restaurants to explore.

Open floor plan, nice yard, easy parking in a quiet enclave less than a mile from downtown hood River. Well stocked with some spices, grilling equipment, linens, etc.
Anne F.May 2021
Private home nestled on wooded property. This rental was clean & ready when arranged, but it was outdated.
Thank you for sharing your feedback, Anne. We are happy to hear that the home was suitable for your stay. We will be sure to pass your suggestions regarding the updates needed along to our local manager who will work with our homeowner to make necessary upgrades. We look forward to hosting you again!

We had a nice weekend at Bonita Cottage. Everything is a pictured. The place was very clean and even had dog gifts which were appreciated. We enjoyed the deck and grill and the beautiful views in the yard on the side. Location was convenient and had no trouble finding the house. The only issue was the shower head was broken and the water sprayed all over the bathroom. My husband gave it a temp fix and we were able to use. Nice property
Hi Michael, thank you for staying with us! We are glad to hear you enjoyed your stay! We are happy to report the shower head has been replaced. We hope to host you again soon!

Great location, Private, and lots of room. Very comfortable and well appointed kitchen. Thank YOu!
Ran M.Apr 2021
It is Well stocked, has a nice grill, the yard is fun for the kids (although not fenced, it's far from a road just watch for the hill), good open space common area.
SHAUN W.Feb 2021
Definitely 4WD needed in winter, we didn't have it and getting up the hill was a bit of a struggle, even with snow-chains. That covered, just book it! Fireplace and a well appointed kitchen...what more could you need;-)
Kendra H.Feb 2021
Very cute, homey feel. Clean and perfect stay in Hood River. Close to downtown. And close to the mountain. We will use it again.
Hailey K.Feb 2021
We stayed here and had a great time. Nothing too fancy, but we didn't need anything too fancy! Has a view of the river and gets great light.

This is a place to visit in all seasons and be well taken care of by thoughtful and hospitable hosts. It is lovely in the winter. We enjoyed the wood stove as well as other heat sources in every room. The dining room and living room windows look out on beautiful private woods with a nice grassy yard where children could play. The beds are wonderful. The kitchen is great to cook in. The rooms are spacious and there's plenty of space for a family of six though very enjoyable for a couple as well. Very nice fluffy bath towels and looking up from the bathtub there's a knotty pine ceiling and beautiful stone tiles that are reminiscent of the land around you. There's a wonderful walking and biking trail at the state park in Mosier (old Hwy 30) with stunning views of the gorge at the Mark Hatfield East Park. We found an unusually interesting big antique store only fifteen minutes away across the bridge in Bingen. A place not to miss is Grind Coffee Roasters and Cafe at the far end of the main street in Hood River. Incredible lattes, breakfasts, soups and sandwiches to go! Though we had planned to ride the Christmas Train and go to the antique car and air plane museum, which are both wonderful, it didn't matter those were both closed right now as there is so much to do in the area even during sheltering in and so much beauty to see. We drove up to the Mt Adam's Recreation area. Don't miss this one.

Nice deck with table and chairs with barbeque private yard. Will rent it again this summer and again in the fall. To send time with our grand kids. You can't go wrong with this cottage. 😀😀

Lovely house. Hope to be back soon! :)
Scott O.Feb 2020
A great place to stay, well furnished and the wood stove was great.
Small issues, need better directions for finding the house. It is not clear the large driveway goes to this house from the street it appears to go to someone else's. Also lighters for fire, both were broken. Also wish the deck had chairs to enjoy the evening. Views were awesome and it was a great location to access all that hood river can offer
Hi, Scott! We are so glad you enjoyed the beautiful views. We were unaware the lighters were broken and appreciate you bringing this to our attention so we can replace them right away. The deck chairs have been put up for the winter. The driveway is shared with the owner, so we will be adding a Vacasa sign to make it easier for guests to locate the property. Thank you!

It was a cute little house on private drive secluded in town we had a fire lite every night owner supplied the wood very quite
Jolanta G.Sep 2019
Quiet, functional, yard, location. Would redo floor as it makes first impression. Otherwise like the house
Jane D.Sep 2019
Deck unsafe and needs replacement. Quite far from Columbia River. Never go after dark - difficult to find and dangerous to get to front door in the dark.
Hi, Jane! We are sorry to read you had some difficulties during your stay. We checked the deck and found it secure. This home is located about 2-3 miles away from the port. We will discuss the possibility of outdoor lighting with the owner. Thanks!
Marjorie K.Sep 2019
What a lovely cottage at the end of the road! The view was wonderful and we totally enjoyed our private stay on Sherman. The house was clean and just what we needed to get away for a long weekend!

Location, clean and plenty of towels! Great deck with BBQ!!
Kendra J.May 2019
This is an adorable home in a great location in Hood River. Extremely close to a grocery store, fast food, fine dining, as well as the attractions of the Hood River area. Very clean, very comfortable.

Perfect cottage for a getaway weekend. We went to a wedding in Hood River and the cabin was conveniently located less than a mile away. We enjoyed sitting on the deck and enjoying the view.
Charlee N.Feb 2018
It’s a nice cabin - but a basic cabin / a bit drafty. Great hot water and pressure!
Erin K.Dec 2017
Thank you for a great stay, as usual.

Es un lugar muy bonito
Jovanna A.Sep 2017
The house was great and the location was perfect. The house was clean and comfortable but some of the furnishings could use some upgrading. The couch seats were pretty sunken and the bathtub knobs were worn out. But it's a great place with an awesome yard for the pups.
PS- Nothing beats the gorgeous views of Adams from the bathroom and the bedroom windows :).
Lori S.Aug 2017
The house was big and had a great kitchen, and a beautiful view of mt. Adams right off the deck. With the price, I do think the kitchen should have had better pots/pans& dishware selection. Really great location, close to town and the Columbia River gorge
James O.Jul 2017
Awesome location. Very private and comfortable. Very close to mountain biking (4 miles away at Post Canyon) as well as the river access (windsurfing, kite-boarding, kayaking, etc.) and downtown nearby. Nothing fancy but overall excellent. View a bonus we didn't expect. Great yard as well. We hope to come back and stay here for future trip(s)!
Jen J.Jul 2017
This is a great place to stay in the heart of Hood River. Great access to the town, yet still secluded from close neighbors. Cozy place to stay.
Trudy T.Jun 2017
The house was in a nice location with lots of trees and wildlife. It is a small house but comfortable and perfect for dog owners (no fenced yard though). I was happy to find an air conditioner since it was 100 degrees outside on one of our visit days. We found everything we needed in the kitchen and bathroom.
Jessica C.Jun 2017
Stayed here with husband and our two dogs. Loved the area and the cottage. We would stay again!
Erin K.May 2017
We had a great time and the dogs could relax while we were indoors or out. Past reviews said they needed extra blankets, which they do. However, it was warm in the house during the day. Everything was exactly how we expected. Just right for 2-6 people. With one bathroom, more than 4 might be unrealistic.
James H.Mar 2017
Great cottage which is way more spacious then the pictures appear. Everything was as promised and we will definitely return!
Mitchell L.Jan 2017
We stayed for the weekend and were met by Bob who supplied the home with plenty of logs for a fire all weekend long, as well as a full propane tank to grill out. House was roomy and perfect for our needs. Only being a mile out of Downtown Hood River was great for cab rides which were convenient and inexpensive.
Aaron W.Jan 2017
Nice little house close to downtown.
Virginia F.Jan 2017
This cottage fit our needs because we have two dogs. The living area was large enough for four adults and the dogs. Also, the location was just enough away from neighbors that we felt secluded. A gorgeous view of the river from the kitchen and bathroom, which we enjoyed. We had a very nice weekend there!
Floran B.Jul 2016
This property is very easy to find, the grocery store was only a couple blocks away, and the Columbia River Gorge is an easy 25 minute drive. It seemed like most of the falls were on the middle and eastern edge of the Columbia River Gorge. If you want easy parking at the Gorge, get to your preferred hike area by 8 am, by Noon it gets very busy (especially at Multnomah Falls. The downtown area has some very nice shopping and the shopkeepers were very nice also.
Diane S.Jun 2016
Our pets loved the place. Nice private lawn for them to play with green space beyond property to explore. Super convenient location, nice view, comfortable & clean linens. Well stocked to eat in. We also had use of half the garage to store our gear which we appreciated immensely.
George P.Apr 2016
It's an older home but very clean and good amenities. Good location and beautiful outside with yard and nature.
Cristina V.Apr 2016
My husband and I enjoyed the home as a great place to visit and hike the Mt. Hood wilderness and see the stunning waterfalls of the Columbia River Gorge. The house we well appointed with great furniture, soft beds and beautiful view of Mt. Saint Helens out the back. It is close to downtown , 5min drive or 30min walk, which is so very cute with wineries, food and shopping. It was the perfect place to stay. Thank you vacasa!!
Drew W.Apr 2016
This place is a nice balance--it's out of the main part of town but still VERY close to helpful amenities like Safeway, Walmart, and gas. Downtown is a mile away, not really walkable but a very easy drive. House is simple, not really any frills, but it has everything we needed to cook dinner. and nice. We loved the wood stove and used it both nights. The backyard is right by some woods and you have a nice view of Mt. Adams when the weather is clear. We really enjoyed our stay. Thanks!
Ann W.Mar 2016
The property is perfect for a small family. It had everything we needed for a stay while being budget friendly. It is great location with a wonderful yard and deck to spend time on as well. We would recommend and hope to stay here again in the future! The W family
Robin M.Mar 2016
Very nice quiet location, walkable (longish) to eating and shopping, and a great HQ for exploring the area ! A gazillion birds and loved the geese flying and honking overhead !
LaTanya M.Jan 2016
Pleasant stay. If renting in cooler months be prepared for a chilly house.
John K.Jan 2016
The place was not completely cleaned when we arrived, the carpet had not been vacuumed. There is an old funky couch that needs replacing and a spotlight on the garage that shines very brightly into the house....right where you sit to read and relax. Otherwise comfortable and a great dog place if your dog doesn't need a fence.
Thank you for sharing your review. We apologize that the home did not seem vacuumed when you arrived. We have shared your comments with our property manager and they will make sure the home is in great condition for our future guests. We are glad that you and your furry friend had a great time!
Leta S.Jan 2016
House is at the end of the road so you can sit in your deck in privacy. At night, deer walk through the property. The wood stove is cozy. The house is super cute!!!
Brenda E.Oct 2015
The location is on a shared driveway at the end. It is a very peaceful location and there is a good-sized deck to sit on to enjoy the outdoors. It was a little further than I thought from the downtown core, but a short easy drive.
Krista R.Sep 2015
We loved our stay at the Bonita Cottage! It was perfect for our family of four. Very private seeming and well maintained. There is no cable, but there is Nerflix in the TV and wireless in the home. Perfect for vacation.
David V.Sep 2015
The house was just right. Big central living area and nicely equipped kitchen. Will look to stay here again in Hood River.
Sandra L.Aug 2015
The cottage is located in a very peaceful setting on the west end of Hood River. It would be ideal for a family with small children as there is a safe area to run on either side and in front of the cottage. Very nice treed area with privacy. The cottage itself was very adequate in most ways. We would have liked blinds on the living room windows come nightfall plus working wi-fi and TV.
Irsten H.Jul 2015
The house was great! It felt perfectly hidden from the street but was a short walk from safeway, riteaid, liquor store, etc. That made the trip really great, being able to just walk to grab eggs, milk, whatever. The side porch was perfect for your summer morning coffee. Peaceful with a nice view.
Kim A.Jul 2015
We enjoyed our stay and found the house very lovey. Despite the proximity to downtown, our stay was really peaceful and sitting on the deck enjoying the river/mountain views was one of our favorite things to do. Being able to have our dog with us was a huge plus! Thanks for a wonderful time.
Lisa T.Jul 2015
Perfect location to hood river and downtown, less than 5 minutes drive. About an hour from Portland. The cottage is set in lovely gardens and isn't over looked although neighbors are close-ish it feels private. Lovely deck and well stocked kitchen. The owners clearly care about this cottage as it was spotlessly clean with new kitchen appliances and towels. A lovely little get away and great place to sit out on the deck with views of Mount Adams morning, noon and night.
