Pelican Beach Resort 1003 - Destin, FL

Old furniture. Hard mattresses. Uncomfortable balcony chairs. No corkscrew but yet a potato peeler? Go figure

I love the condo set up and views of the ocean. Feedback on this condo is that the floors were not swept good, you can feel the dirt was you walk throughout the floors, they had a dust pan in the closet but not a broom I was looking for one so I can clean the floors, the mop they had was to small best mop to use is the spin mops for those places it cleans well and it dries the floors quickly, the end tables needed to be clean and the tv stand as well was dusty, the table outside in the balcony I had to clean it myself it was very dirty and dusty. But other then that it was a beautiful time spend the people at the front desk were friendly and nice. The other thing I did not like is that they rent umbrellas with 2 chairs for $35 per day the only down fall they cover almost all the sand areas so if you brought your own umbrella and chairs you can’t even use it because the pack it it so tight the only option you have is to rent one of theirs which is not cool.

My husband and I arrived in Destin on Wednesday to celebrate my birthday at Pelican Beach Resort. We have vacationed at this resort multiple times over the past 10 years and love every inch of the property. We have stayed in various condo's within Pelican Beach over 10 years and have never had an issue with any room UNTIL NOW! The pictures are NOT an accurate representation of this condo. The condo is in bad shape and should not be rented until a COMPLETE RENOVATION is performed. There is RUST on the ceiling along with water stains and cracking thought the condo. The couches were FILTHY!!!!! The couches were so soiled, I had to place a sheet over the couch before my husband could sit on it. I dared not sit on the couch (even with the sheet covering it) during the entire vacation! After checking in, I called the customer service number to Vacasa immediately and requested a new unit! I was told a manger would call me before the end of the day. I waited until 5:30 (check in time is 4:00pm) and called back. I spoke to another young lady and waited on the phone with her for over an hour to secure a transfer. After waiting an hour and 30 minutes, I hung up. My husband and I decided to start our vacation that evening despite the conditions. I called the next morning and spoke with another young lady that had no clue what I was referring to, therefore I had to explain the matter to her again. She advised that a manager would call me right back. I received a call from Michelle the manager and I explained the situation AGAIN! She indicated they had no rooms available to transfer me, BUT she could transfer me to a property with fewer amenities without a beach view! I declined and I asked for the couch to be professionally cleaned. She arranged for housekeeping to clean the couch in 30 minutes. Housekeeping NEVER came! We desperately tried to make the best of our stay by sitting on the beach and enjoying Destin, but every time we came back to condo, the mood turned somber. I discourage ANYONE from renting this condo until it is completely renovated! This may seem small to others, but the condo didn't come equipped with a broom! All weekend long, we tracked sand in from the beach and didn't have a broom to clean it up. Housekeeping was a complete NO SHOW, therefore it was useless to continue to call Vacasa for help! Do yourself a favor, and DON'T RENT THIS CONDO!!!!

It’s exactly what you go to Destin for- that beautiful view. The unit is nice. I thought our large family would be crowded, but we had plenty space. The building is nice. It’s close to everything! The pool and hot tub area will be much better when the second area is open. It was crowded. The tiki bar was awesome, and the fact that they take your food and drink order and deliver to the beach was amazing! Definitely a bonus. We would love to stay again!
