Spacious yet cozy mountain lodge-style home w/ nearby ski access

Rustic meets luxury in this spacious yet cozy Aspen vacation rental. This duplex-style home's upper levels is perfect for a group of friends or a family to experience some of Aspen/Snowmass's great mountain terrain.

Located just a mile east of Aspen Core and the base of Aspen Mountain Resort, this dog-friendly home sits in a copse of trees, creating a secluded feel in a quiet neighborhood. Guests can catch the free city bus from the end of their driveway, so leave the car at home! Please note: there is a full-time tenant in the downstairs duplex.

This home exudes rustic, vintage charm, and is filled with natural light from the slanted wall of windows. Beamed ceilings and a tongue-and-groove pine siding give this home a log cabin feel, while unique pieces such as the petrified wood coffee table add a hint of luxury.

The living room is spacious and open, with a cable-equipped TV in the corner, board games for nights of friendly competition, and WiFi throughout. Get the wood fireplace going during the chilly winters or head out to the balcony during the summer to enjoy the Colorado sun.

Head into the kitchen to create a delicious homemade meal. The space is unique, with old newspaper wallpaper and a tiled floor, and comes equipped with all the necessary appliances. Warm light fills the dining area from a wall of windows. Guests can get all kinds of cleaning done in this room: get a load of dishes going while the laundry spins in the washer/dryer! Outside, there's a gas grill where you can cook up delicious fresh-caught fish.

This four-bedroom, three-bathroom home can sleep up to seven guests. Three bedrooms and two bathrooms are on the first floor. 2 kings and there are 3 twins for guests to snuggle into; one of the bedrooms has two twins for a sleepover feel. One of the bathrooms downstairs has a lovely soaking tub for a bubble bath.

The master suite upstairs has a king bed and an attached bathroom. There's also a small private balcony, making this a great room for a couple. There is one downstairs guest room with a king and a shared bath.

Winter guests coming for one of Aspen's many film festivals are in a great spot: close enough to the action, but far enough away to keep the home quiet and relaxed.

Summer guests will have an equally packed schedule between rafting and fishing the Roaring Fork, hiking Maroon Bells, and participating in Aspen's many music festivals, the Food & Wine Classic, and art shows. You'll also enjoy plentiful dining and shopping options in Aspen Core.

Find that balance of rustic and homey in this beautiful Northwest Colorado vacation home.

Please note that dogs are welcome for a small nightly fee!

I love how the house was fully furnished with everyday things you need. Things like plenty of towels and linens, toilet paper, paper towels and even toiletries. Beautiful views throughout the entire house! Plenty of room for my large family of 7.

Very comfortable accommodations with everything we needed. Extremely convenient to everything in Aspen.

The Mountain Valley Hideaway was the perfect home for our family vacation. Great views, perfect location, and a warm and cozy setting. Will definitely be coming again!!
Brian G. Nov 2018
House was perfect for us and very close to town. The walking trail across the street was excellent and really enjoyed the great kitchen. Only complaint would be the light switches.
Susan S. Sep 2018
House was just what we needed, plenty of space. Loved the trail access on Roaring Fork. Loved that we could take the shuttle to town and back and that it ran until 1:45 a.m. so we could be out late at a wedding and after party and not have to drive. Did not need to cook, but could have....everything needed was there. Not fancy, but everything we needed and super convenient. With all the construction and traffic in town, it was really great to be up the road just a bit.

We stayed here and had a great time. The house provides plenty space for 8 of us and plenty of board games. The living area, dining/kitchen area are all very spacious which are great places for family or group of friends to hang out.

We were 4 ladies ages 37-45 on a weekend road trip getaway. We were extremely happy with this home. Couldn't ask for better accommodations, from kitchen fully stocked, to bathroom towels, toiletries, everything you could need was provided!
Our summer trip has made us realize that we have got to come back and experience this home during ski season. The view was incredible, we enjoyed our coffee on the deck every morning. Thank you so much from all of us for opening up your home to us. Hope to book with you in the future.

This is a great place to stay close to Aspen, just a 5 minute bus ride or cab from the middle of town. It sleeps 8 comfortably (one on the couch). The kitchen is huge and the living room and deck are great. Everything was clean and communication with the Vacasa staff was smooth and easy.

We had a great time in Aspen. The house was convenient to downtown and the shuttle option into town (pickup was just across the street). It was plenty spacious for 7 people. It was clean and organized when we arrived. Only real complaint is that we found some ants throughout the kitchen area each day, that could likely be removed with professional extermination. It is not an upscale property, but for the money and location, it was a great value for people that do not require fancy lodging, and that do not want to break the bank. I recommend staying here.

Great spot for a family and fun to be able to bring our dogs.

Better than expected property! Large rooms and lots of space for my family of seven!

We rented this home as a family vacation. We were originally going to stay with my brother in Aspen but found this little gem and decided to rent it last minute. We had my parents, my husband and myself and our 4 children with us.
I am a Realtor in CA and my only suggestion would be to have a queen or king bed in the second bedroom downstairs and then have three twin beds in the very large third bedroom. I believe the owner would actually get the property rented more if they had 2 kings/queens for couples and the other 2 bedrooms for children.
The home was very comfortable and spacious. Perfect for a family. It wasn't fancy at all but very homey and we liked that. It had plenty of kitchen amenities and we had everything we needed to cook large family dinners at night. We were slightly worried that it had a tenant downstairs just because we did have a few family dinners and card game nights but we never had any issues and the tenant downstairs was very friendly. (Although we were quiet by 11 each night)

Very close to downtown Aspen and City Market which was convenient.
We will definitely rent again when we come back out (hopefully they'll take our advice and change the bed situation).

Only suitable for late fall or winter. Has no air-conditioning.
House had great space to move around in.
Big plus is dog friendly!!! And the main reason we would return.
Amanda R. May 2016
It simply needs a remodel, but for a large group it was comfortable and pretty clean. The location was ideal for heading up Independence Pass or using the East Aspen Trail.

If you're looking for a simple, spacious, rustic, and clean place to stay, stay here. It's close to town (walkable) and it has an AMAZING large patio.

This property was is certainly not "high-end" or whatever (for Aspen standards)...but the beds and furniture was comfy, the fireplace is huge, and the general property is cozy. We felt right at home with a group and the house very comfortably would sleep 8+. I will totally book this one again next year with our group of ski friends.
Aaron B. Feb 2016
Large space with plenty of room to move around in. Old finishes in need of updating (think motel 6) but had everything we needed for a big guys weekend.
Melyora K. Jan 2016
I can sum it up as follows: The house was a perfect vacation spot. The Vacasa experience was not.
Manager response:
Thank you for your review. We regret to see that you did not enjoy your experience with us. Any specific feedback is always appreciated. We are delighted to see that you enjoyed the home itself!

We loved the house was in a great spot would definitely stay again only complaint wish we could have parked under the undercover parking but the guy that stays there says it's all his And if the price was a little cheaper from the beginning we would have stayed at least two weeks
