This location was beautiful and convenient for taking kayaks out on the water. The home was quiet and spacious.
Ann T.Aug 2019
The house is very spacious and overlooks a small corner of a public beach near a public dock. The interior is well worn and could use some freshening up. The leather sofas had some stains and the mattresses showed the impressions of previous sleepers. For the price it seemed it should be more updated and the linens and pillows nicer. But the location was perfect for all island activities and the neighbors very friendly even inviting my daughters to clam one morning.

This house is great! We have been vacationing here for several years. It has a nearly private bach next to a busy dock (great for people and boat watching from the deck), and everything you need. The large grassy yard is great for playing badminton (bring your own), or fetch with your dog (yard is mostly fenced, but we keep ours on a long line when we're outside with him). The large deck is great for watching the comings and goings with cup of coffee in the morning and glass of wind in the evening. Plenty of room and a well-stocked kitchen. We love this house!

The view, quietness and serenity was incredible.

Perfect vacation home with an unbeatable view!
ashley s.Nov 2018
The perfect low tech getaway. The view from the front window is to die for!
The inside of the house definitely needs to be updated but I still love the cabin regardless.
margaret h.Nov 2018
Large house on the water with plenty of room to move around.. The views were great and a boat launch next door for kayaks or larger boats.
David W.Sep 2018
Gorgeous oceanfront home with plenty of space for 6 people! Large kitchen, living room, and dining room made meals and socializing easy. Plenty of beds and bathrooms for 6 to sleep comfortably. Clean, comfortable, with a breathtaking view and large porch. Loved staying here!
Tonya W.Aug 2018
We loved the view, the access to the water, the many windows for natural light, great place to stay!
RANDELL L W.Aug 2018
The home is very nice with great views of the water and distant islands. There is a brand new BBQ which we used. On the down side the home was still being cleaned until 5pm on the day of arrival. We were told the previous occupants had left it a mess. Overall the stay was very enjoyable.
Jorge S.Jul 2018
Excellent views and have a public beach in front of the house. However, conditions of house on external side are deteriorated and garden not well taken care of. You are basically paying high price for the views.
Brendan O.Jul 2018
Everything was as expected, the location was absolutely fantastic and everyone is so friendly. Ceiling fan was out and multiple light bulbs need changing, but otherwise this place is just absolutely great.
We appreciate receiving this feedback. The owner is aware of the issue with the fan, and the light bulbs have been replaced. Thank you!

This home can sleep a lot of people and has a fantastic location On a beautiful little cove.
Marilyn J.Jun 2018
We stayed here right after Memorial Day and it was absolutely perfect. The owner allows dogs and we brought our Lab who tremendously enjoyed the private beach right off the back yard. The view from the deck is gorgeous and we enjoyed the tranquility and nature. We took quiet walks up the road, and hiked up to Iceberg Point which was breathtaking. This home was so comfortable, fully stocked and had everything we needed. We felt so comfortable and "at home" there. Glad we brought our barbeque grill because there's only a tiny one that doesn't look like you could grill much one. We simply saddled up our grill on the backyard next to the water and enjoyed the great outdoors. This was a splendid place to get away from it all! We will definitely return - it was awesome!!

We had a really nice stay here. Definitely a place to relax. Very spacious.
No cable or wifi but there is a blue ray dvd player.
Only real con is the coffee maker took an hour to make coffee.
Bruce G.May 2018
It was very quite and relaxing. One thing you need to bring drinking glasses and some knives. People in the area very friendly.

We absolutely loved the location and view with a living room full of fabulous windows. But when we arrived, the windows were filthy until we cleaned them ourselves. The description of the home also boasts a fully supplied kitchen which is not really true. You will want to bring your own knives and cookware since the supplies in this kitchen have definitely seen better days. We also found the home with several burnt out light bulbs and had to take bulbs from areas we were not using to replace the ones we needed. But in the end, we had a fantastic trip and would definitely recommend this home. A few inexpensive additions to the kitchen supplies and a cleaning crew that cleaned the windows would have made our trip 5 out of 5 stars.
We have ordered more kitchen utensils and drinking glasses, we have changed out the light bulbs, and we have quoted window cleaning to the owner. Thank you!

The home exceeded expectations. Very quiet and peaceful. We accomplished a lot and grew closer as a team. Fantastic experience.

Wonderful vista and view of Hunted Bay.
Scott D.Sep 2017
This house is exactly what we were looking for. Awesome view, plenty of room for a large group, fire pit, and close by to some great sights. Definitely recommend!
Nancy S.Sep 2017
This house is great for family with young kids. The small beach in front of the house is very strees-free safety wise, and the dock is always busy with boats coming and going, so always interesting. Great choice of outdoor spaces; large yard, smaller yard between beach and house, and beach front. Adults favorite feather is large deck for watching sunsets and having coffee in the morning. Also big enough to safely accommodate toddlers and young children playing while adults relax.
Sandhya S.Aug 2017
What an idyllic spot--the windows open out to a spectacular view, and right out the backyard is a beach and the county dock! Bring your kayaks, canoes, etc. The house itself is filled with light, pleasantly furnished, and big enough for large groups to stay comfortably. Thanks again and hope to come back.
Nicole W.Aug 2017
We had a wonderful time at this beautiful home on Lopez Island. The location is ideal and right on the water. It was very relaxing place to stay.
Tom S.Jul 2017
This place is all about the location. The rental company has addressed many of the issues raised in negative reviews. Place was basic but clean and perfect for a big family with kids.
Kathi Kelly B.Jul 2017
We had a fun four days on Lopez with our pups at this house. It has a sweet little private beach & is right next to the public boat launch. We were able to anchor our boat right in front of the house. Wi-Fi and cell service was great. Lopez Island has a neat little village, with good restaurants about 10 minutes away.
Mary Ann D.May 2017
what an amazing LOCATION... we brought our kayaks and bikes, and our son brought his boat over from ANACORTES. GREAT PLACE for a 4 year old and 7 year old, my grand kids.. we were able TO GO CLAMMING, kayaking and biking.. the house was super big, and we SO ENJOYED the ambiance. and waking up to those huge WINDOWS with our java was DIVINE. I would definitely return and our dog was welcome as well... WONDERFUL LOCATION.. and great home...
Shala G.May 2017
I really love the location of this house. The view is beautiful and the semi-private beach is wonderful. However, it was very poorly maintained and supplied. No soap for upstairs and only one extra roll of toilet paper for 6 people for 5 days.
The place was very dirty, too. Our dog pulled a filthy sock out from under one of the couches that looked like it had been there a year and the windows had huge cobwebs in the corners.
The Property Manager has inspected housekeeping and retrained them based on comments from this review. Thanks!
Roelof N.Mar 2017
This is the second time we stayed in this house. It is in a beautiful location and the huge windows in front invites the scenery into your living room. If only you can see through the dirty windows. This place is a gem if there were no stains on the sheets. The place will get 4 stars from me if the owners invest in linen and pots/pans. 5 Stars if they fix the heat so it would not smell like burned gas in the house, fix the stove so that all the plates would work and clean the place from top to bottom.
Donn B.Feb 2017
Lopez is a great island. This house is big and roomy with lots of super comfy furniture. Price is reasonable. The view is spectacular. Some nicer basics like shower soap, better lighting and some nicer plates and glasses would have earned a 5 star review.
Jessa S.Oct 2016
Great little getaway location. View was amazing and the locals are the nicest people
Jayanti B.Oct 2016
We loved our time in the house - particularly the view of the bay. We saw seals almost every day and watched the world come and go on the public landing and house is well appointed and was warm in the cool fall weather. We had our elderly dog with us so we appreciated the ramp up to the door and the fact that there was a good sleeping space on the ground floor. We're already thinking about when we might visit again.
Cami B.Sep 2016
Very nice accommodations! The house was roomy, furniture was nice and comfortable, and the view was magnificent. It is a little bit of a drive to the store, but not too big of a deal. The crabbing was excellent right in the bay.
Mark M.Sep 2016
If it were not for the wonderful view, this home would have been a bust. Looking out on the beautiful bay every day, watching seals, eagles, kingfishers, and wonderful sunsets and misty mornings made the stay in this run down, dingy home tolerable. It is pretty clear the owner of this once nice home has no plans to update it. Many of the lights did not work, the kitchen is extremely dark and unpleasant to cook in, the plumbing leaks on to the floor in front of the sink. Heating did not work in one of the upstairs bedrooms. No grill available on site, out door furniture on the deck not at all conducive to using the deck. In general this place is just not up to snuff. The living room has no floor lamps or side tables for any of the massive cold, slippery old leather furniture. We could not sit in the living room at night and read because of this. Sitting in the living room and drinking coffee or tea is tough, because there is no place to set your cup down, except for the one coffee table in front of the couch. If you don't care about basic, nice amenities and just need a place to stay that accepts pets and has a great view, then this place is okay. But if you are looking for a nice home to relax in and feel comforted and pampered, this is definitely not the place.
We are disappointed to read about this guest's experience. The sink leak has been repaired, an electrician has inspected the heater and ordered necessary parts for repair, ceiling lights have been replaced, and the owner is considering replacing some of the furniture. Thanks!

Beautiful location. It was amazing having the beach in the backyard, especially with kids.
Kevin F.Aug 2016
We selected this VRBO because of its proximity to the water and our group of six adults.
It sits on the edge of Hunter Bay. A short walk down the street or paddle around the rock outcropping would get you into Mud Bay.
This home easily handled our numbers. It could have been expanded to four more adults comfortably.
It sits on a dead-end street so it is relatively quiet. The street ends at the public boat launch.
The beds all varied in firmness and it was easy to find one to your liking.
This makes a nice location from which to explore the island and experience the "Slowpez" lifestyle.
Ryan R.Aug 2016
Beautiful view of the sound, but a little bit of noise from the public boat launch.
Rochelle T.Jul 2016
The house overall was lovely and I'm most thankful to spend time with my family and dog.
Elizabeth F.Jun 2016
The description of this home did not do it justice! Very clean, very private, and very comfortable. We could sleep 8 with no problems. The huge front windows are amazing. We made sure to spend every evening on the couch or deck, watching the sunset slowly into the water. Next time we will bring our kayaks!

We enjoyed the stay and the beautiful view the property had.
Shala G.May 2016
My kids really enjoyed the secluded nature of the beach attached to this house. Plenty of sand to build castles and lots of shells and pretty rocks to gather.
The house could use a deep clean and I was disappointed when the soaker tub jets didn't work and disconcerted when my family downstairs started hollering that it was leaking! Also disappointed that we couldn't use the fireplace.
Those were small things, however. We really enjoyed staying in this home and would definitely consider it again for next year.
Karen P.Apr 2016
This home has spectacular views of Hunter bay. Lopez village is about 15 minutes away so pack accordingly. Cell phone reception and Wi-Fi is extremely limited at best. We were entertained by sea otters, eagles and hummingbirds daily. We would definitely go back.

The location of this house was breathtaking! The view was incredible and we enjoyed waking up to it every morning! We arrived in the dark and there was no outdoor lighting, so it made for an adventure. Our primary complaint was the lack of cleanliness. There were large cobwebs in the bedroom and upstairs bathroom.
John G.Feb 2016
Kim K.Sep 2015
Generally positive. Everything worked. Great view! The small improvements I would do would be to pick up the kids toys left on the front lawn and the sack of empty wine bottles on the corner of the house by the gate before the guest arrive. Otherwise no problems for my visit.
Robert M.Jul 2015
We have stayed here many times just shy of twenty years and love the location for kayaking and crabbing. A few minor suggestions. Both coffee pots were broken, move the television out of the front window. It blocks the view and there is barely any tv reception anyway. in the past there was a short hose for washing off the salt water outside instead of tracking it in the house. Other than those few issues it remains a great place to spend a week.
Thank you for taking the time to submit your review! We are so pleased that you enjoyed the house and the area and love that you keep coming back. We will pass your suggestions on to our property management team in the area and get those coffee pots replaced and a hose for washing off outside. Thanks again and we look forward to having you as guests again!

This house is on a beautiful setting and the house itself is great! Quite spacious for a large family. All the amenities were there. Locals of Lopez were very friendly and welcoming.
Lorna P.Dec 2014
We very much enjoyed our Thanksgiving week on Lopez Island in the Hunter Bay waterfront home. The view was spectacular, the seating and sleeping areas were very comfortable. I loved the 2 full bathrooms. We had fairly decent weather for November and were able to do a lot of walking in several of the many public areas. The downtown village was very cute and convenient. The library was also a great place to visit. Overall, I would highly recommend this place at any time of year.
Anne J.Sep 2014
Overall, we had a great experience. The house is well appointed and in a beautiful location. Great place to kayak due to the sheltered bay and easy beach access (and easy rentals in town). Bring your crab pots, if that is your thing!
Sarah F.Apr 2014
The view is absolutely stunning and the home is quite spacious. Of course, with the great price, you can expect older furnishings and accessories but the overall it is quite comfortable. The house is very spacious and has plenty of room for 2-3 families. Our family with two young children had a wonderful time escaping the city and would rent this place again.
Jennifer B.Apr 2014
We stayed during the weekdays over spring break in April. We explored much of the island and spent more time outside than inside! The view from the property is amazing, and it was very peaceful. The house is large and would have accommodated two couples and 4 kids just fine. There were only 4 of us, so lots of room to move about. You couldn't beat the convenience of having a little beach front right there, and it was private, so no public access even though the boat ramp was right there. This might be a quiet time as it is not high season. We thoroughly enjoyed everyone we met in the village and will definitely be going back. I would say the pictures on the listing are very representative of the property and view. There were some issues with the beds that we relayed to the management, and are hoping will be addressed. We would love to stay again next year!
We appreciate your review! Thank you for your feedback.

Gorgeous view and home. We loved having immediate access to the beach and dock. We are already planning a return trip!
K.J. K.Aug 2013
Lovely facility for an extended family to spend quite time together.
Brooke M.Aug 2013
Kayaking and crabbing in and around Hunter Bay is great. The house location makes it easy to get your boat in the water and head out to the nearby islands. Crabbing was excellent. We had fresh dungeness crab for dinner several nights during our stay! And the view was awesome. Overall, a great place to stay.
Sowjanya K.Mar 2013
Loved the place, Private beach access, corner house, good for a large group.

Winter months on Lopez are very quiet. Many shops and restaurants are closed for the season, as are the state and county beaches.
