We had a great stay at this house. A ton of space and lovely hot tub. Great location as well. Would stay again!
This home is updated and well maintained. We enjoyed our close proximity to downtown shopping and restaurants.
We had a great mini vacation.
Plenty of room for 6 women, beautiful views of the Columbia, comfortable furniture, well stocked kitchen, loved the hot tub! We all really liked this house! I would love to stay here again.
- Awesome location - you are within walking distance from all the shops and restaurants, and just a little longer walk to the beach but keep in mind that the house is uphill form nearly everything so it's a little challenge after a few drinks. Good exercise though!
- Lot's of beds and the ones we used were clean and comfortable. I check all the mattresses before we "move in".
-The cleaning crew did a very good job.
- Well equipped kitchen. There is even a waffle maker in the cabinet.
- Clean and well maintained hot tub - you need it after a day of hiking, eating and drinking , then walking back to the house!
- Clean towels everywhere!
- Customer service was great and so was Jeff in Maintenance who found out what was wrong with the air conditioner.
-Carpet tacks at most of the thresholds come through and were quite painful when you stepped on them. Good thing we had band-aids with us.
- Unfinished floors in the basement and where the hot tub is. There's a work around - you can go out the second floor landing and walk down the outside stairs instead but even a runner placed through the basement would be nice.
- One window in the kitchen was missing the blinds - not much privacy there so we hung some towels up.
- We couldn't find the ping pong paddles. Maybe it's there and we just couldn't find them.
- There were only TWO rooms (bedrooms) with window air conditioners, and neither were in the master bedroom with the view. It was really uncomfortable because it was over 97 degrees the days we were there. At least there were two big fans we could use.
- One of the window air conditioners leaked into the room and soaked the carpet about 5 feet out from the window. I called and Jeff from maintenance was great and very responsive.
- The single bed in the bunk bedroom had pet hair on the sheets. Would not have seen that except that was one of the rooms with the a/c.
- Window air conditioners were installed using duct tape and plywood. Yikes.
- There were several missing wall art/hangings. Not really a big deal and it could have been a previous gust took it with them but it's not so pretty to just have hooks on those bare walls.
- The grout around the tub needs to be redone. It's black in parts.
- Tons of spider webs in the windows between the glass and the screen. We wouldn't have opened them except it was really hot.
- The bedroom with the full-size bed had a lamp that was missing a lampshade. We found it in the closet, but it was broken so we had to use the overhead light.
- The shower set up for the upstairs bath is an unusual one that none of us have ever seen before so it would have been good to know how to get it to work. It's a ring on the bath faucet that you pull instead of a lever. Since I was already in there, I had to take a sit down shower using just the faucet. Not the end of the world but not awesome either. LOL
We loved the location and the cleanliness but it was not worth the money paid due to the issues I listed.
Thank you for leaving such a thorough review for us, Anita! The property manager will be getting strips to cover the carpet seams as well as blinds for the kitchen window facing the street. The ping pong table is not advertised for guest use due to late night use that leads to complaining neighbors. The leaky air conditioner was fixed during your stay, the tub has been re-caulked, the lampshade has been replaced, and the only window with webs at this point is an inaccessible basement window. We hope to see you again!
My group of 7 loved all of the amenities of the home. It was spacious and comfortable and perfectly located for walking to downtown Hood River.
Good family house with rooms to spread out in and be comfortable.
First, it's a great location- very close to downtown, just a short walk - which is important because parking downtown is limited. More than enough parking space is available at the house, though. The house has plenty of room for guests and an ample sized kitchen with everything you need for cooking.
It had a nice big island in the middle with another small table in the kitchen in addition to a large table in the adjacent dining room. We had the master bedroom upstairs that had large windows all around - with an incredible view. And the mattress was very comfy. The configuration was a bit odd - we had to walk through another bedroom or office to get out of our room. But it still worked. I loved our bedroom.
There was a ping pong table, but it was 'out of order." Instead, there was a foosball table (warped though) but we still had fun with it. Some guests used the hot tub - which they enjoyed.
The furniture and carpet could use some updating. The only complaint was the bathroom and kitchen floors were not cleaned thoroughly- maybe there was a quick turnaround on guests and it didn't' get done though. There were plenty of towels and toiletries if you don't want to bring your own shampoo, etc. Also, an iron, steamer and ironing board which came in handy. Getting in and out of the house was easy using the lockbox with code.
Great location and had all the amenities we needed. Wonderful accommodations!
This house was a great place to stay. It was beautiful and housed everyone in my group perfectly. Plus, it was a great location and super close to town! I would highly recommend staying at this place. We will visit again in the near future!
We loved the big kitchen, puzzle table and game tables, music in living room and sports in the second t.v. room, cool architecture and wonderful hot tub!!
Will rent again, great location.
Beds were very comfy. Tons of extra towels and linens. Easy walks to shops and restaurants. Kitchen was well stocked, but couldn’t find measuring cups... just me? Bummer that the ping pong table is going away. Hot tub wasn’t locked when we got there..
Loved the craftsman style house and that there was lots of space for all that came to stay. Plenty of sleeping areas for all, could have been more bathrooms for the amount of sleeping offered. Master bedroom had great view.
TVs in 4 rooms, but unable to get them all to work properly either because of missing remotes, wireless network not working properly, etc.
Very good location walkable to anywhere in Hood River. Spacious house as advertised.
A remodeled older home. Very clean and livable. Ample parking and the location can't be beat. An easy walk to everything in Hood River.
This home is on Oak Street, the "main drag" of Hood River. It is within walking distance of downtown and most of the restaurants.
The house is really comfortable for family or friends to stay, nice beds. Nice location to surrounding hikes, walking distance to restaurants. My friends and I love it!
We did not use hot tub since it's downstairs, would be more useful if at the same level on first floor.
This home is bigger than it looks! Bedrooms are huge! Lots of space for families/groups to gather.
Convenient location, house was perfect for our gathering and the hot tub was a bonus.
We loved the out door ping pong table and hot tub! Although with our large group of rambunctious mostly 20 ish year olds it was hard to keep the noise down after 9 pm! Great place though!
We sent a separate email this morning to explain some concerns on this home.
This is a beautiful home in a beautiful location. There is a lovely view of the river from the back of the house on the deck and it is located in a nice and quiet neighborhood. It is also very close to town where there are great restaurants and other things to see. What a great area for a family trip. Even though we were there for a funeral we would definitely come back for recreation and relaxation.
Our MOMS Club had our annual get away weekend here and it was great. All the essentials, tons of space, comfortable furniture and Bevan more then enough linens...extras like Wi-Fi, Netflix, Hulu etc...as well as tv in multiple rooms, even a gaming system in one room. Tons of parking and close enough to walk pretty much anywhere. The history of the house was interesting to learn. We will visit again.
Location couldn't be better. Access to downtown is an easy walk. Be respectful to the surrounding neighbors! Sounded like there had been some less than ideal renters at the property in the past. The neighbors are lovely people, and quiet hours should be honored. Overall, the house is fantastic and we will surely return.
Overall, this home was large and exactly what I wanted and needed for my stay. Location was great and I would stay again, for sure!
Very charming large house. Lots of stairs, but nice room sizes! Two living rooms were nice as well as multiple televisions. Very close to downtown and fun activities. Hot tub was great as well as the ping-pong table- kept the kids occupied for hours. Kitchen needed a few more items- measuring cups and electric griddle would have been nice- matches also to light the finicky gas grill. Don't even consider sleeping on pull out couch bed. You might fall through as the frame is broken. Beds were very comfortable though. Easy check-in and out with good instructions on e-mail.
We are glad to see this guest enjoyed the home for the most part! We apologize for the state of the sofa bed. At this point we are unsure of how to fix it, but we do know it works for sleeping if guests lay their heads on the opposite end. The gas grill lights up right away with the electric ignition on it. Thank you!
My large family really enjoyed our stay in the Azuza house. It is right in town and we enjoyed walking around. While there is some road noise at night we didn't find it to be too excessive (and a white noise machine helped the baby to sleep). There were plenty of beds for everyone and they were quite comfortable. The furniture is newer, the kitchen is nice (though could use a few more kitchen towels) and the dining room is spacious. Lots of TVs and my older children loved the ping pong table and foosball table on the porch. The house could use a deep clean but overall we were very pleased and would recommend this house to others.
House is big... well furnished and literally in downtown Hood River. Fortunately it gets very quiet in this part of town at night so you wouldnt know you were pretty much in down town.
That neighbor lady though.... shes a dandy. SMH
This house was in the perfect location, we could walk pretty much anywhere!
Unique home layout with lots of room for the family.
Thanksgiving at Azusa House was great--- plenty of room and much-appreciated entertainment (Netflix, table tennis, football, game system, hot tub). We loved the ease of walking around town and felt that the off-street parking was more than adequate.
This house is located right int he heart of downtown Hood River. You can walk to many great restaurants, bars, and excellent boutique shopping.
Easy walk to downtown Hood River.
Wonderful home beautiful in the heart of hood River. Walked to double mountain and wine tasting rooms.
The house is walking distance of all downtown but doesn't feel like it when you are there. It is well furnished- everything you need but nothing unnecessary that you have to worry about the kids breaking. Only one room has AC, but if you leave the doors open upstairs during the day it keeps it all cool. We were there during hot weather but the house stayed pretty cool. Tons of parking and everyone loved the ping pong table.
Great location, comfortable beds, plenty of space and lots of fun amenities!
This home is great for family get-togethers! The large kitchen was awesome w/lots of cooking utensils, pots and pans. The location is close (on foot) to everything in downtown Hood River! There is some street noise so bring earplugs to sleep if that's a problem for you. We will definitely want to return here on our next family outing to Hood River. Beautiful home, great pride of ownership!
The azusa house was an amazing experience. We stayed in the house with a group of 5, sometimes 6 and it was more than enough. Internet did give some problems but being on vacation it wasn't our biggest problem. And also when I contacted the regional department about it they were very quick to respond.
The house has a great ping pong table, hot tub, big TV in living room, little game room with Xbox 360.
What I really liked was the location, it's located on oak Street which is a main street in hood River downtown, however it is in a more relatively quiet area so there is some privacy. Would definitely come here again 5/5 stars
Great place to stay. Very clean. Within walking distance to downtown.
A great rental with THE BEST location!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We visited Hood River for my sister's bachelorette party / bridal shower weekend. Everyone had a great time. The house was in perfect order when we arrived. The hot tub and ping pong table were a nice plus! I've already had friends inquire about the house based on pictures we posted. It is a gem!
I would definitely stay here again. No complaints. Comfy bed, clean and great location.
We enjoyed the location, the many rooms and the well equipped kitchen.
Lovely location, easy walk to the main strip in hood river. Besides a touch of road noise the house was quiet and cozy.
