We booked this townhouse for our 3-day getaway to Tahoe.
Here are the things you need to know:
a. there are some stairs to climb with your luggage, both outside and in the house. Be careful when you pack, or you will end up having a great exercise.
b. bugs can be seen in the house. We have seen giant ants mostly on the lower lever where two of the bedrooms are at. The other bedroom on the highest level has spiders and they do jump in luggage if left open.
c. Stairs to the highest level dont feel very safe and steady... I was not comfortable as I went on them.
d. after a very warm day, the highest level can be very hot. The roof doesnt block heat very well, and it gets even worse if you do cooking in the kitchen.
e. the two lower level bedrooms are very cool though, because they have thermostat.

Why do I still rate five stars? here are the reasons:
a. The neighborhood is very quiet, chipmunks, squirrels and birds can been seen very often.
b. My dog loves running up and down in the house, this house is great for pets.
c. great value for the price. The size of the house, the location are great.

I would recommend this home and will book again if I had another trip to this location.

This is an excellent condo for a ski trip. The shuttle service to the village was great, but there is also a short path that takes 5 minutes to walk to the Village. The kids loved it and we would definitely rent again.

I loved that these condos haven't changed since I was a little kid. I didn't love that this condo had the same couch in it as when I was a little kid. Needless to say, it's time for a replacement. The tack strip in the upstairs bathroom threshold is exposed so watch your feet/paws.
Manager response:
Hi Jenine, thank you for taking the time to share your review. We will share your feedback about the couch and tack strip with the local staff. We are glad that you've had so many memories here over the years and we hope you'll visit again soon.

We stayed at this unit during the shoulder season and found it to be cozy and comfortable, with only minor issues.

The unit is part of Northstar's vacation home properties and is located quite close to the village. In the summer you can definitely walk along a path behind the complex up to the village and in less than 10 minutes. One challenge that isn't mentioned in the description is that the unit is up the hill from the parking lot, so you have to carry your stuff up several stairways to get to the unit.

The house was large and cozy. The open living/dining/kitchen was a nice place for our family to spend time together while cooking, having meals, or watching tv and where we spent most of our time.

The fireplace was a nice touch and came with a convenient gas lighter mechanism which made starting a fire a breeze. The deck on the main level had a brand new grill with plenty of propane, though we didn't get to use it because of the cold. The bedroom setup was nice for us as our infant could sleep in the room with twin beds and we could take the larger room downstairs and be close.

The vacasa team also did a great job setting up the house. The bathrooms and kitchen were clean and stocked with cleaning supplies. Everything looked great.

There were only a couple things that could have been better. The larger bed in the downstairs bedroom was quite soft. It was fine for a short trip, but even by the second night we were tossing and turning a bit. Not enough to stop us from coming back, but if you're picky about mattresses, this one may be an issue.

The kitchen could use some new pots and pans and some better knives. Also, if you're a coffee junkie, you may want to bring your own coffee maker or french press (and grinder if you need whole beans). The coffee maker had a big plastic reservoir for coffee instead of a standard coffee pot, and it had a taste of old coffee no matter how many times I washed it.

But these challenges were minor, and the overall coziness and warmth of the house definitely outweighed the cons. So while not perfect, we'd be happy to be back.
