Friederich's Beach House is beautiful inside and outside, with stunning panoramic views of the ocean. The hot tub was a hit and the private Irish Beach was fantastic. This house hit all the marks for what we were looking for. The couch is even updated from the one pictured... all very nice!
The views of the ocean from every bedroom and the deck are breathtaking. Fresh Pacific breezes and visits from hummingbirds and more make sitting on the deck the place to be. At night, a soak in the hot tub under the stars is the perfect finish to the day. A 15 minute drive to Port Arena’s Coffee Cove by the water is a great way to start the day. We sat and watched the waves and the fishing boats while eating the best apple fritters and drinking delicious coffee.
My family and celebrated my fathers 61st birthday at the Friederichs beach house. The pictures do not do this home justice. Every little detail of the home is so well thought out. It was so clean, comfortable and accommodating for my family. We truly felt at home. This will not be our last trip to this home :)
Great view of the ocean! The house was very well maintained. Enjoyed the view from hot tub. Had a relaxing stay.
This is my 3rd stay at this house and I’m already planning my next! I have stayed here during the winter season all 3 times and don’t mind bundling up. This place is roomy and cozy, perfect for couples or families. This place isn’t the most modern but they just updated their sectional, oven and dining room set and it’s so nice! The microwave and hood weren’t there this visit because they are being updated but we managed. The location is great, it’s right in the middle of Point Arena and Mendicino and not super great for those who get car sick but worth it. The best pros are the VIEWS from the house and the HOT TUB! Love waking up and seeing deer in the front yard too! The private beach is definitely worth a visit as well. Can’t wait to book my 2020 trip!
Great location, and amenities. A beautiful vantage of the ocean!
This is a wonderful house. It was very clean, and looked just as the pictures show. The view is beautiful from the living room, dining room, deck and master bedroom. Everything was well taken care of. It is not a house where you can walk to the beach though. You have to drive down the main road, use the gate pass and then drive down a long winding narrow road to a private beach for the homeowners. It is a beautiful beach and worth the drive. It is an isolated area, so I would recommend bringing what you need or want. We were there in December, and had 60 degree weather. It was a very quiet neighborhood and beach, which is what we wanted. We watched amazing sunsets. The loft is just 2 twin mattresses placed on the floor. It would be great for older children. The kitchen was nicely stocked and had what we needed. We were very happy with this house, and would stay here again.
We absolutely loved this home! It was open, clean, comfortable and peaceful. It has all the kitchen items you could need we made amazing meals. Also close to great food! We recommend the Bird Cafe and Supper Club in Point Arena a short 15 min drive south. The hot tub was perfect for star viewing and the sounds of the waves were very soothing. The beds were so comfortable and clean. We all know we want to come back soon for another girls trip soon! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home!!!
A great little house to relax in. We loved the view from the deck and the hot tub.The house itself was clean and comfortable. Please note, to get to the beach you must walk or drive about a half mile to the private gate, and then about a quarter mile down a steep and winding car path to the beach. Totally worth it. The beach has driftwood, tide pools, and cliffside mini-caves.
The house was impressive. Architecture was amazing. Thought about making an offer to buy...
We all enjoyed our time at the Frederichs' beach house. The beds were comfortable. Amenities were ample. The view overlooking the coastline, though often hidden by fog, was lovely. Great base for sightseeing and relaxation.
Loved staying at this house. Very clean and the view is amazing. Will stay here again.
However...we had to throw away a good portion of food we brought because of horrendous ANT problem. Owners were obviously aware, because ant baits were in pantry and under sink along with spray. Unfortunate to say the least.
Perfect for a small group
Pacific northwest is gorgeous, you just gotta watch out for the weather. The property itself was nice, neat and clean with some beautiful views from the deck. Kitchen is reasonably stocked up for cooking, and the hot tub was clean. We had a good time out there.
It was an amazing home with spectacular views!
Wonderful home with spacious, open living room. Fabulous views of Manchester State Beach from the living room and from the hot tub on the deck. Clean, cozy, quiet neighborhood. Overall, a wonderful place for a weekend. Thank you!
Everything about this house was lovely. So a bit smaller in person than the pictures show, it was perfectly adequate. We cooked several full on meals in the kitchen It had everything we needed. The view from the house is just great. Soaking in the hot tub looking out of the ocean, who could ask for more?
We will definitely come back
No problems with the house. The property managers were very attentive to any questions. Great view. Great place. The kitchen is well stocked. Plenty of blankets and towels. Great Place to Stay!
Great house with beautiful views.
The photo's of the house on-line doesn't do the house justice. It's spacious and beautiful. I loved the stained glass windows. The view from the deck and living room was breathtaking.
The home was spotless. Bed was very comfortable. Loved the walk in shower. The grounds were beautiful also. The afternoon we arrived, there was a deer grazing in the yard. So many deer everywhere. All I can say it was awesome!! Can't wait to come back. Would acturally like to find something to rent yearly at some point. No one will be disappointed staying here.
Very happy with the condition of this property. The kitchen had everything we needed, the appliances were all in great shape and easy to use. There were plenty of towels and bathrooms were clean and provided all needs, soap and shampoo. Many DVDs to choose from for watching, the flat-screen TV was great and surround sound system wonderful. Beautiful panoramic view of the ocean and the hottub was clean and fantastic!
My family visited the area for a wedding and were thrilled to come back to the house on Navarro Way to relax in the hot tub, sit by the fire, and enjoy the spectacular view on the deck and throughout the house.
We had a great time in this home and the views are amazing. The home perfectly accommodated 3 couples and 2 children .
Irish Beach was a lovely location for a quiet family vacation. Well appointed kitchen. Well maintained. Outstanding view from the deck and hot tub. Walks along the beach were a highlight. Nearest grocery is about 25 minutes away (Gualala or Mendocino). Comfortable beds.
Second time staying here, and look forward to coming back again
We & our family members are 'mature' - the house and location really accommodated our needs and desires!
Thank you for sharing your home with us! With a little suggested improvements, we will definitely return. We had lots of fun and really enjoyed our trip!
This property is amazing. My family stayed for 3 days and we had a great time. Beautiful view, comfortable stay. I will book again
The house was a great place for a family vacation. Thank you
We've been here in the past and hope to be back many more times. The house is clean, spacious, well-maintained, and the artwork is lovely. The view is phenomenal, and gorgeous hiking trails abound in the area. We love this house!
Aside from a few maintenance/cleaning items for the staff to take care of, this is an excellent property! We spent half our time outside on the deck enjoying the view, and down at the beach. It's hard to beat a view like this plus falling asleep every night to the sound of the waves! We will definitely come back.
We had a very relaxing trip. The ocean view from the deck was amazing, as well as, from the hot tub and living and dining rooms. Very cozy place. Make sure you bring your food.....only small stores in the area
This home was so pleasant! The windows were so perfect to view the ocean and the sky from inside! The hot tub was amazing to sit in and stargaze at night! The rooms were comfortable and the master bathroom had a giant walk-in shower. We had 6 adults (3 couples) and this house was a perfect fit for us. If we had children it would have worked well because there's an upstairs loft with a skylight! 10 out of 10, would stay again!
We have been coming for years and this propertie is amazing.
Definitely recommend it.
Would return - beautiful home in a gorgeous location
We stopped to buy groceries for all 5 days since nothing major is nearby. The house is fantastic. Great kitchen, great views, easy access to the beach. Walking on the beach - not swimming- but we are from California. NorCal coast is all about the hiking on the beach. The house is perfect for 6 adults and 2 kids. We will definitely return!
Amazing view, quiet neighborhood and the jacuzzi on a clear night is just amazing!
We stayed here for 5 nights and had an amazing time ... the view from the deck is unreal and the house is set up perfectly for relaxing and unwinding with the family. Access to the private beach was simple and provided spectacular ocean swims. Horse riding on Irish Beach was also a major highlight as was the Boonville County Fair.
The house is beautiful and has an awesome view of the ocean. We loved the house and the way it set up for sleeping, lounging, relaxing, reading, watching movies, etc. Nice BBQ area and love that the foosball table is in the garage with a bathroom! Irish Beach was fantastic! Lots to explore and enjoy without the crowd you find at other beaches.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Friederichs Beach House. The home was well equipped, nice appliances that all worked perfectly. We enjoyed the ambiance of the home and all the wonderful paintings. The gardens were all in bloom and the ocean view was spectacular. There was so much more to do than we could ever fit into the time that we had, but we had an incredible time exploring the area from Point Arena clear up to Avenue of the Giants. We enjoyed the local wine and fare, seafood and great dairy and eggs from Stornetta Farms down the road, (fresh, in all the local markets). There was something for everyone, We had seven in our family group, grandparents, kids, and grandkids. The hot tub was so nice after a long day of exploring. We would love a return trip someday to explore and adventure more on this lovely stretch of coastline. Thank you Friederichs family, for providing your wonderful beachhouse, we truly felt at home there.
We stayed at the Friederich's Beach House from 5/14/16 to 5/18/16 and the weather was really nice. The Place was really nice and clean. The Kitchen was well stocked with all the neccesary utensils. Had access to Irish Beach. We even saw some Whales going North. It was a nice relaxing stay. Hope to make it back again.
Great views! Enjoyed the hot tub, great juxtaposition to the cool ocean air.
We were in desperate need of a getaway where we would could find peace and quite and we found it here!! The views are beyond words and the hot tub did not disappoint!
Our family of 7 (5 kids ages 15-20) just returned from 5 nights in this delicious home and we loved every second of it. Everyone had a bed, even if one of them was just a mattress on the floor in the loft--still, my son said he was super comfy up there and slept well. All our beds were comfortable, the linens clean, the towels fluffy, luxurious, and plentiful. The kitchen WAS fully stocked, including a blender and hand mixer, which came in handy when we wanted to munch on some cookie dough after a day at the beach. The hot tub was clean and we spent one perfectly clear night soaking and star gazing. The night sky was bright with stars and with 3 well-timed shooting stars (thank you Mother Nature) and the lighthouse winking off in the distance, it was pretty near perfection. We spent another lazy evening watching a movies on the super comfy sectional that easily fit us all--there are plenty of great movies to choose from, both older and fairly recent releases. And on our last morning we were sent off by a whale spouting from just over the view of the deck.
We liked the central location of this home to everything we had hoped to see--we took a long day and drove over to the Avenue of the Giants (3 hours away on winding, forest roads) to explore the redwoods, and spent the other days either at Irish beach (just around the corner down a winding, tight road) or exploring nearby roads and beaches--arena point lighthouse is just a few minutes south, Manchester state beach is even closer, but I preferred Irish beach to Manchester. Manchester is a little walk over grassy dunes to get to the beach, and the sand was not as soft by the water. But it was a fun place to skip rocks as the beach is littered with perfect skipping stones. We loved driving up and down Highway 1 and seeing the farms nestled up against the coastal cliffs, the beautiful coastal cottages and homes, and the old architecture found in most. We went as far south as Sea Ranch, which was also well worth the drive.
We highly recommend taking a day to wander Mendocino, it was our favorite spot up or down the coast. The village is delightful and the beaches and views, amazing.
We went to the grocery store in Manchester to get the bulk of our groceries, and as it's a small-town store, many items were a bit pricey. If we had it to do again, we'd have taken the time to drive up to Fort Bragg to get groceries at Safeway--normal prices and larger selection. Oh, and whatever you do, don't plan on getting gas in Mendocino--it was almost twice the average price. You'll find gas at or near normal prices in Ft Bragg, and since it's a beautiful drive up anyway, worth the hour drive for gas and groceries.
We've stayed at 2 other vacation rentals on other trips, but this was our favorite of any we've stayed at. We loved the home, the view, the location. It was perfect!
We had a great time and enjoyed the view, the hot tub and of course the beach. The house is very clean, well maintained and well stocked and everything is very convenient. The beds are very comfortable. I would definitely recommend it!
This was a beautiful spacious home to stay in while visiting the Mendocino Coast. We definitely would book it again.
We've stayed in 3 rentals (caspian, albion, now manchester) and this one blew the others out of the water. Not only was it the best price point, but it was by far the newest and cleanest. I'm always skeptical when they say the kitchen is 'fully stocked' and end up packing half my kitchen because you never really know what to expect. I was happily surprised when we arrived and the kitchen was actually stocked, I didn't have to use any of my stuff (expect a gallon pitcher for lemonade)!
The TV was the talk of the weekend as it's built into the casework in the living room and disappears at the touch of the button so you can enjoy the view out the windows. And the movie collection! Holy Cow!
We were blessed with beautiful weather and had a perfect view of the coast and beach all weekend!
Like the others said, the hot tub was dirty for us too, but I have no doubt once the owners become aware the issue will be addressed.
Manchester and Point Arena are tiny towns with not much to offer. We ventured to the light house only to find out it cost $5/person to get in the gate. No thank you, I can see if fine from here. We were able to fly our kites off the bluff nearby though. We eventually took the 45 min trip to Fort Bragg.
Don't be surprised when you arrive, there is no wifi and we didn't have phone service at the house either. If you're looking for a secluded retreat away from distractions, this place definitely won't disappoint! The perfect getaway for games and puzzles on the deck of the house and a weekend of binge movie watching! Absolutely gorgeous home!
This is a very nice property, well maintained. We found the view from the living room breathtaking. The area is very quiet (you can hear the surf) and it really appropriate if you are looking two spend few days away from everything
We would definitely come back again!
We had some issues with the hot tub (not cleaned so we were not able to use it) .
No wi-fi (actually, this could also be seen as a pro :-)
Location is a bit isolated - you need to drive (~10 miles) to buy groceries at Point Arena
Thank you for your review. We apologize that the hot tub had not been properly cleaned prior to your stay, and we will do our best to ensure this does not happen again. We are glad to see that not having WiFi worked out well for you - it really is a great way to disconnect and recharge. Thank you for choosing Vacasa!
We stayed here for a weekend for my sister's birthday. The house is very comfortable, the views are great, the house overall was very clean, except the water in the hot tub seemed dirty and had a strange smell to it. The DVD selection at the house was extensive and the sectional couch was comfy. The beds seemed a little soft but were still very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked and easy to use, the BBQ area was also nice but all the BBQ tools provided were filthy (we washed them and put them back clean).
This house is in a great location and the passes to the nearby private Irish Beach were great! We very much enjoyed staying here and would stay here again!
