At night, three bedrooms have one king and two queens - ideal for up to six guests. All bedrooms are cozy and inviting, the master with its own fireplace and window seat.
If you do bring up to two dogs, there is just an additional nightly pet fee. You will also have a washer/dryer so you can stay up on laundry needs during your stay.

Day trips can include Mendocino about 55 miles north or spend the day closer to home and wine tasting just up Annapolis Road off Highway 1. Sea Ranch itself offers rec centers for pools and tennis, rocky beaches with tide pools, trails including Monarch Glen for butterfly viewing, and even golf at the Sea Ranch Golf Links.

Fell in love with the Sea Ranch. The house was gorgeous (all the houses have a rich architectural history) and the location was magnificent. The kids loved seeing all the wildlife, especially the seals on the beach. We plan on making this a regular getaway spot. Shell Beach house is just minutes from gorgeous private beaches and spectacular views.
This is my 4th time to Sea Ranch and the best rental of all. It is steps from Shell beach and a beautiful trail the other way. The kids loved the nearby playground. The house has a good layout, nice big kitchen table for a group of 6, stuff for kids to do like watch movies, toys and puzzles. There must have been some updates - looked like a new couch. I'm just glad I ignored some of the reviews I read that said it was run down and lacked privacy (?) It's actually pretty perfect.
I love this special place of sea ranch and this house was a perfect landing spot. The house has a great location for breach, trail and bike rides with kids. Inside, we found the house to be clean and calming and well-equipped for cooking, grilling, playing, reading, etc. If only we could have stayed for longer! we will be back!
Another great trip to Sea Ranch for our family of 5 & pup. We love the location of this house... perfect for the beach, trails & playground. The house is comfortable & had everything we needed. Will be back again!

Shell Beach is the best beach at Sea Ranch especially with young kids. And you are steps away! Also from the sea lions. Visit the beach at low tide for a special treat.
Vacasa was not responsive during a power outage so I would not recommend them but the house is great.
We've been staying at the Sea Ranch a few times a year for over 20 years and this is by far the most tired house we've rented. Dishwasher didn't work, refrigerator should have been replaced years ago as it was leaking, blinds had stains all over them, and the house was just generally really run down. We called Vacasa and the local property manager during the stay about the state of the house, lack of working dishwasher, and have still have not received a call back yet (it's been over a week).
We are sorry about the experience this guest had. The homeowner is aware that the home needs updates, and has been working on the home in stages. The dishwasher has been looked at and is working. This guest has received a partial refund for the trouble.
This house is in a great location just 50 yards from the beach with great ocean views from the top floor. The house needs a little updating but is very comfortable and spacious.
Great views and functional house for a long weekend.
The home was perfect for a family weekend to celebrate my dad's 70th birthday. The location couldn't have been more perfect. The views of the ocean from the living room were breathtaking. We loved daily walks to the beach and all of the wildlife we saw on the way (deer, seals, hawks, etc). The house itself was great for a active crew and two dogs. It well-appointed but we felt it could have been cleaned a little more throughly. Nothing major, just some dust and cobwebs. All things considered, we would definitely return.
The location is great. Old bathroom furnishing, but we didn't mind. They were clean. View is great. Lots of pots and pans, even waffle iron and beaters. Spices too, but no pepper. I always bring my own abalone pan and salt and pepper. Lots of good books, wish I had time to read them, busy exploring favorite spots. We've stayed in about 6 different Sea Ranch homes and like this one for location and view.
The home is in a really great location but is in desperate need of upgrading and TLC.
Functional yet basic amenities. Great views from master bedroom and living/dining area. Nice that each bedroom had a mini-balcony. Hot tub deck area less private and spacious than pictures made it appear. Master bathroom is 3-way hallway from foyer and to hot-tub, just ... awkward. Of the 5 Sea Ranch properties that I've visited so far, this one is just a bit constrained by its layout.
The location of this house can't be beat... right across from our favorite beach. The house itself was perfect for our family of 5. Was wonderful to be able to have our dog join us as well. Look forward to coming back again!
There are so many places to walk to from the house... the kids playground, the beach, the walking trail along the coast. It was just beautiful.
The property is well located, but has not been well maintained and needs to be updated. For the amount you are paying, there are better options at The Sea Ranch.
We are sorry to read this and will discuss this review with the owners.
Awesome house with short walk to ocean. Running trail along coast was very private and beautiful. Downside was the 45 miles on of winding road on hwy 1.
This property is very spaceous and has a wonderful view of waves crashing on the rocks. It's also a short walk to easily accessible Shell Beach. With the kitchen, dining, living room, and one bedroom upstairs, there are excellent views all around. Downstairs are two more bedrooms (one ridiculously large), and a second bathroom and laundry. My only real complaint is the kitchen is small compared to the rest of the house and the condition of the cookware was poor, but I assume the latter will be resolved.
We visit Sea Ranch every year and enjoy staying at different homes each visit. Shell Beach ranked in our top 3 of all time. Great mid-size home and excellent location. The property is very old and worn (As many homes are) the furniture is dated and the tub is likely on its last legs. The house was cozy and comfortable for two adult couples (no kids). The kitchen and living is on the 2nd floor with a master bed and guest bed on the ground floor. The grill is on the balcony on the 2nd floor off the kitchen and needs to be replaced as of Oct 2016 as it is broken and a fire hazard. Otherwise a great stay and one we'd return to again!
The BBQ has been replaced with a temporary one until the owners have an opportunity to purchase a new grill for the home. Thanks!
The sea ranch is an oasis and a wonderful escape from hectic Bay Area activity
We've stayed at Shell Beach on four different visits (have tried others but always come back here). We love the lay out of the house and it's location.
The house had fantastic views from most all rooms of the ocean. It was a short walk to the beach to see the tide pools or seal beach or beautiful shells & rocks. Trails were nicely done. The house needs some repairs, but the beds were great and the kitchen worked. We spent so much time outside that the cars were not even needed. Spent 5 heavenly days there and would go back in a heart beat! I love the area!
We're stayed in this home during Spring Break for the last three years and it has been consistently wonderful. The house has a well stocked kitchen, cozy living room and beautiful ocean views.
