Leave the stresses of life behind and let time slow down for a while - you're on beach time now! Indulge your senses with some of the most beautiful ocean views you’ve ever seen from large windows, or get some sun outside on the expansive deck. Perfect for families or groups of friends, this Oregon Coast vacation rental is guaranteed to give you the peaceful beach getaway of your dreams!
Located in serene Oceanside, Oregon, just south of Cape Meares and west of Tillamook, this lovely home is walkable from the beach: walk down the public stone staircase on the south side of the house - beach access is just beyond! Perched above the town on a quiet and peaceful forest lane, guests will be treated to scenic ocean views from nearly every window in the home.
This two-level beach house has a light and airy feel with gorgeous windows that look out to the ocean. Timber construction, cathedral ceilings, and hardwood floors add warmth and ambiance. Since the entry level is on the second floor and both bedrooms are located downstairs, guests who have trouble with stairs should be advised.
You’ll love the Scandinavian-style simplicity and crisp, light furnishings and decor. The ground floor includes an open-concept living area with comfortable couches, connected to a kitchen and small dining area. The living room has a cozy wood stove and a sofa that can later double as extra sleeping space. Relax here, taking in truly incredible views of the ocean through the wall-to-wall windows as you rest your feet on the antique chest coffee table.
This home offers WiFi, as well as a stereo system and even a phone for making local calls.
Before arriving, stop by the Safeway in Tillamook or the local market in Netarts to stock up your fully equipped kitchen with all the essentials. Complete with new stainless steel appliances, slate countertops, light wood cabinets, and extras like a dishwasher and coffeemaker, this space is wonderful for people who love to cook!
At mealtime, a glass-topped dining table is perfect for four, but will seat six for you to enjoy a meal looking out the windows at gorgeous views of the ocean.
Downstairs, both bedrooms boast gorgeous ocean views and share a full bathroom. One has a queen-size bed, while the other has two twins - perfect for the kids! You’ll find a half-bathroom on the first floor, just off the living area, and a sofabed that sleeps two right nearby. Great for your next family vacation, this home can sleep a maximum of six guests!
Downstairs in the full bathroom, you’ll have your very own private washer/dryer! This home also includes parking for up to two cars.
Spend a day down at the beach, dipping your toes in the water or building glorious sandcastles! Accessing the beach is simple from this lovely home: Just take the stairway right next to the house down to the sand.
On a sunny day, head out to the deck and lounge on the patio furniture. On the main level, two blue Adirondack chairs and a small table face the ocean; sip coffee in the morning or enjoy a glass of wine in the evening as you watch the sunset. Downstairs, another door leads out to a shaded deck with a six-person dining table.
Of course, relaxing at home (especially on a drizzly day) can do wonders for rejuvenation! Bring some of your favorite books from home, or borrow one from the offered selection. Relax on the sofa in your pajamas in front of the cozy, wood-burning stove while you read the whole thing.
Breathe in the sea air and take a stroll through this peaceful, residential area. Though business are few and far between, you can stop by Roseanna’s Cafe for a bite to eat (don't forget to order the berry cobbler!), Blue Agate for breakfast and lunch fare, and Three Arch Inn serves espresso and breakfast items. For more options, head to neighboring Netarts.
Get a little cheesy! You'll be just 11 miles from the famous Tillamook Cheese Factory! Make your way through the sample line, watch the cheese making and product assembly line in action, pick up some discounted cheese and rare flavors at the store, or go in an entirely different direction and try one of the varied and delicious ice cream flavors.
Explore the coast or get a little R&R - no matter your idea of a perfect Oregon Coast getaway, this Oceanside vacation home really delivers! Book today!
* Please note that cell phone service tends to be spotty in Oceanside but should be more reliable a few miles south in Netarts. You're also welcome to use this house's landline if needed.
I was in the Tillamook area working a few days and figured why stay in town when I can have a beautiful and affordable ocean view? So glad we chose the blue door! Beautiful views right when we opened this door. Loved watching the world light up in the morning over breakfast and coffee in the kitchen before beach runs. Plenty of room for 4 people though there were only two of us. We even tried our hand at a puzzle one night while playing CDs from a great jazz collection. The kitchen had every utensil we needed to cook every meal at home. The home stayed warm without even needing to turn heat on in November. Though we were blessed with all sunny days :). The downstairs bathroom is a little cramped with a tiny shower but it heats up great and is still refreshing at the end of the days. Parking is a bit tight if you have two large vehicles but they’re able to fit with some creativity. The queen bed is a bit on the form side and could maybe use a feather topper but no real complaints as the room is very dark and I got to wake up to ocean views. I have several more trips to the area coming up for work and I would t hesitate to book here again
What a beautiful view...and a cute little place. I loved it...nice and clean.
Great place, great location! Very clean and modern, just a quick walk to the beach.. one of our favorite vacation home rentals!
Everything we needed, we had. The kitchen was well stocked, firewood for a cozy fire, the view, the view, the view. We look forward to staying here again. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you for sharing your home with us.
The art work and mobils
The wood-burning stove
The well-equipped kitchen and comfortable furniture
This was a wonderful place to stay with our children. The view is second to none, it was cozy and peaceful. We appreciated not having a TV on site, it encouraged us to play games together and read. Truly relaxing.
The kitchen was fully equipped to make meals for our family, which we really appreciated.
We absolutely loved this place. It was great to sit in the living room and enjoy the views. the place was clean and comfy. We wished that there were hangers for some of our clothes and a few more staple ingredients in the cupboard. We ended up buying a couple things and just contributed them for the enjoyment of others. Thanks for a great time!!!
Love the view of the ocean. During my stay, grey whales were feeding off shore about 150 yards during high tide and even had a pod of killer whales one morning near the shore. House is quiet and clean. Shower is small, but I got use to it.
The view! A wonderful beach getaway that I will surely return to. The Blue Door was perfect for our Airies bday celebration. We loved everything about it.
Very well equipped house from the kitchen to all the available linens. Very clean, quiet and comfortable. Amazing views! Our family is young and active so walking to/from the beach was not an issue, but could be if you are expecting a flat/direct route. The side streets in this hillside community are extremely narrow, steep and difficult to navigate in a large vehicle such as a 1 ton pickup or suburban, but average-sized SUVs and small cars have no problems at all.
We found everything as originally described at the VACASA website. The view was outstanding from the main room and deck. We loved having easy access to the beach, the wood burning stove for cooler days and the full kitchen. The home was the perfect size for our family of four.
it was perfect. We'll come again for sure.
Perched mid-hill, this quirky property was comfy, cozy, and artistically eclectic. Unplug and unwind - you guessed it, no TV and that was a blessing. The fully equipped kitchen offered all the comforts of home - with a highly efficient glass top stove and every pot and pan you could possibly need.
The stereo system and very interesting CD collection were a welcome comfort along with a neat selection of games and interesting books. The top floor gives amazing views of the ocean and it’s very comfy just sitting there watching the storms roll through Oceanside.
The shower is intimidating from the outside and a bit cave-like, but the water pressure and hot water were great. There are wall heaters seemingly everywhere, But each has a separate control.
The beds are on the mature side, and definitely will need replacing soon.
We would have liked to have seen the loft area, but alas there was no ladder?
A perfect spot to curl up in front of the fire with a book on a rainy day and a well-situated home base for forest hiking and seaside strolls.
Felt at home here and surprise, no TV!
A very cozy, well-maintained home. The views are absolutely stunning. Great collection of games, books, and CDs. Quality stove and kitchen equipment. The fireplace was a welcome feature during stormy and rainy days. Note that it is a fairly small house -- four people would seem like the upper limit for comfort. One suggestion for improvement: The downstairs main bed is on wheels and easily shifts. It needs some kind of wheel lock. We loved our stay here and would rent again.
I stayed here over New Year’s with two other friends and it was the perfect getaway. The cabin is beautiful and filled with light and has a wonderful view of the ocean. The beds are very comfortable and we felt wonderfully relaxed after our stay. I would highly recommend this gem in Oceanside!
Lovely island in the sky. Just what we wanted.
This home offered a unique way to experience the Oregon coast, amazing views from this cozy home. Great city with wonderful people and places to eat and see. A stay here will provide a rejuvenation of your soul and mind.
Great view. Perfect home base for hiking and beaching!
this rental has a fantastic view from the main living area. This place is very well maintained and the kitchen is very well stocked for cooking. When we arrived the rental was in spotless condition. My only concern about staying in this rental again in the future was the smell of dampness in the lower level of the unit, where the two bedrooms and main bathroom are located.
We couldn't get enough of the large picture window in the living room. It was a pleasure to spend 3 days with no television and Oceanside is one of the most relaxing beaches ever. We had a great time!
Comfy beds, chest of games and puzzles, fabulous deck, and an excellent view.
This place was just big enough for 4 adults. I wouldn't recommend more people then that. Views are outstanding!!! From every window and deck. Couches are in serious need of replacement. Thankfully our weather was super fantastic so sitting I side didn't matter but it would have been an issue if you rained in. Hopefully they replace the couches before storm watching season. Otherwise the place was great!!!
The Blue door was perfect for 4 of us. It was a lovely place to stay, read and look out the window. We enjoyed the beach but the weather was too cold to swim even in August. We went to a nearby town to watch people caught dungeon crabs.
This is a wonderful little nest to have as a base camp for exploring the Oregon coast.
We were truly happy here and it felt like a home for us
The house has a beautiful view of the ocean and the walk to the beach isn't very long. A great place to stay and enjoy the quiet beach and watch for sea life. Would definitely stay here again except try to make it longer.
Wonderful getaway spott], everything you need for a great beach vacation. Lots of games for kids, beach toys, quiet surroundings, beautiful tall firs. Created memorable moments, from dinner on the deck, to comfortable rooms and panoramic view.
This property is great for a couple or a family with two small children fpdue to the fact there is only one full bath. Furniture in the living area is worn but adequate.
Deck is great with stunning views of ocean.
Great views- had all the amenities to cook breakfast and dinner and was just an overall beautiful location. Would def recommend for anyone wanting to unplug and relax.
We had an amazing time and the house was great!
The Blue Door is a great little house for a family. The views off either deck are amazing, and having the laundry was a great plus. The kitchen is efficient, there are plenty of appliances and dishware. We really like to stay in and cook, but the set up would be great for those that wish to eat out too. All in all, we really appreciated the open layout, and the abundance of windows. Great books if you get a rainy day too. Would highly recommend the Blue Door !!
The Blue Door is a beautiful house in an exquisite location! The views from every room are breathtaking. Being able to sit out on the deck and look at the beautiful ocean is one of the things we loved most about this house! We will definitely be back and book The Blue Door again.
Great house with a great View
The Blue Door is such a sweet little cabin, perched on the Oceanside hill w/ a wonderful view. We loved the eclectic decor, music and book collections. The kitchen was well appointed as well, and everything was very clean. A few minor improvements like better quality beds and slight bathroom upgrades would put this place in the excellent category. We highly recommend it if you can overlook some things that aren't perfect. - The view and Oceanside experience outshine those so we will return.
Nice beach cottage, fabulous view. Very clean. Well stocked kitchen for its size. Very firm bed, but we actually slept pretty well on it! Biggest drawback are the couches in living room - not comfortable. This is unfortunate, as the view is great but relaxing to enjoy it is affected by the furniture.
We had a wonderful time. It's a very cosy and beautiful house with a nice view on the sea. We even were able to saw whales!
The house is great for 4 people not more.
Great views! Cozy feel with all the basics for a great stay.
This house is decked out beautifully, full kitchen, books, games and views out of all windows on both floors. You are high enough to see above the houses, yet within easy walk to the beach. Smallish, but with bedrooms downstairs, and a deck, the layout is perfect - there is plenty of privacy as well as places to work. And of course Oceanside is perfect in sun or storm.
Overall an excellent experience. The house is nicely furnished and lovingly remodeled, remaining homey comfortable. All the amenities we needed and a wonderful stereo system (no TV - something I appreciated).
Only issue renters may have is that the shower is very small. The glass door is quite narrow and anyone over 250 lbs may have trouble accessing the shower at all.
The pros: We loved our stay in Oceanside! The location couldn't have been better - it was truly breathtaking, especially on a moonlit night, to look out over the ocean and hear the crash of the waves. The home was very easy to find, even in the dark. The best feature of the home are the huge windows, providing gorgeous ocean views. The home is also impeccably clean, with just about everything you need for a short stay, and aesthetically very nice. There's a nice selection of books if you're a reader, and some fun decor elements! We were able to walk down to the beach using the stone staircase to the left of the home, but it sort of felt like we were walking on someone else's property to do so, so we hope it was ok. The beach itself is beautiful and in December we were usually alone - when the tide is out you can walk for miles. Bayocean park, a short drive to the north, is also beautiful and secluded! There are a couple of small grocery stores and cafes nearby, but with limited items - if you're planning on cooking I'd suggest stopping at Safeway in Tillamook for food.
The cons: The main sofa in the living room really needs to be replaced. It's very worn and uncomfortable. There are no throw blankets in the house, so I'd suggest bringing your own if you plan on ocean gazing in the winter months. There wasn't a table and chairs on the balcony for outdoor dining, which was a major con. The master bed is very hard, even for us - and we love a hard mattress! We also thought the master bed should be switched to the larger room with the good views.
Overall, we would recommend the property but would be even more excited to do so if the above cons were addressed!
Very nice, quiet spot overlooking a wonderful beach. Plenty of room for our four adults, two young boys, and one baby.
The views are beautiful, the house is great - good selection of CD's to listen to (no TV!) The decks are expansive. Very happy with the price point also.
My husband, 13 year old son and I stayed here for a long weekend. We were very comfortable. The place was very clean which is important to me. The view was incredible from the living room and bedrooms! Very relaxing and an easy walk to the beach. We will definitely stay here again in the future!
Lovely beach house with tasteful decor and personal touches. I wish we could have stayed longer. The view is spectacular. There is no television, but the WiFi signal is very good.
The Blue Door was comfortable for just the two of us, but would have been cramped for sleeping 6 people
Great view of the beach. Comfortable with everything needed for an enjoyable stay.
Lovely view, lovely deck and furniture on it. Very clean and comfortable
furnishings. Would go back to this house.
We loved it. The view the walk to the beach. The beach Made our meals great food and private setting.
After a 9hr delay due to a Global Delta Airline Outage, we finally made it to "The Blue Door." The actual space was a bit smaller than we initially thought; the photos are slightly misleading. However, the fact that there are such stunning views from both upper & lower decks help make up for that. The area is very quiet & relaxing & having no Tv was perfect for us! Reception is null & void but wifi is available if being "connected" is a must. Most of the time we simply just got caught up when we would travel further inland. The locals were polite & friendly but we really didn't "bump into" anyone. My daughter & I visit Oregon every year, sometimes twice a year to see family & choose a different beach community every time. Oceanside will be one to remember forever for us as we were finally able to bring my mother back to Oregon after 42yrs & this will be my last visit with my daughter before she is married. This place & it's quaint location was perfect. The beds could use some improvement but other than that we were very pleased with our stay.
It is a small home, but totally fit all our needs.
Not sure about the short walk down stairs to the beach. I suppose you could walk, but it would be a challenging walk, and the only stairs near the property seemed to belong to the neighboring property. Also, not sure how you would fit 3 cars in the driveway, it was a challenge to fit our 2 cars. But overall a very good experience and would definitely stay here again as well as other vacasa properties.
Lovely, quiet, tasteful, welcoming little home overlooking the Pacific. If you are looking for a classy place to stay, this will do nicely.
Our time at Blue Door felt like we were in our own home. It was comfortable, in a great location, and clearly someone's well-loved vacation spot. Reading the other comments in the guest book, and they go back for years, many other guests had the same experience we did. We read some of the books in the shelves, listened to the CDs, and spent time on the deck. We also walked down to the beach everyday. (It's a couple blocks from the beach, on the side of the hill, with a wonderful view.)
In case you're not familiar with Oceanside, it is a small community without a lot to do--which is exactly what we wanted. We spent our time wandering up and down the beach, collecting rocks and watching the birds, and enjoying the peacefulness of the area. The town is located between some interesting spots. We hiked Cape Lookout to the south and explored Cape Meares to the north (very close to Oceanside). Tillamook is about 20 minutes away if you want to visit the cheese factory. We even went to Astoria (about 2 hours) and explored other towns along the way.
Every day we were always happy to return to our Blue Door in Oceanside, and we hope to come back in the future.
The beautiful views were amazing & the location was great.
Agate Beach through the tunnel is nearby, the special staircase makes it fairly quick to get to the beach & cafe. The kitchen is well-equipped, the fireplace is an added benefit. You can hear the waves.
AMAZING VIEW!!! Everything you needed there. We brought our own food and cooked in the kitchen. No TV which is FINE!! Kids played games in down time. The only downside is no insulation between levels so you can hear everything if you are in the basement and someone is upstairs in the living room (which means no sleeping in for mom and dad) but that's okay, who wants to sleep in when you can get up and walk the beach for sand dollars. PS lots of outdoor goodies to take to the beach in the cabinet outside!
Spent the whole time watching the ocean from the living room or the deck, except for short walks down to the beach for meals at the restaurants. Very comfortable, very quiet house. Would go back in a heartbeat.
The place looks just like the pictures, and has a great view with a good sized deck. There is space for parking, which is a premium in that area. However, there's another unit below the rental with no direct access to it. We weren't sure what this unit was used for, and didn't see anyone coming or going. It left us feeling a little uneasy, but overall we were satisfied with our stay.
