Charming studio w/ hot tub - walking distance to Caspar Beach!

This light and bright Mendocino vacation studio offers a great escape to the Northern California Coast! The accommodations are warm and welcoming, and you'll even have a private hot tub!

On the property of a larger home - Caspar Dream - this separate and private getaway is located in a quiet neighborhood, within half a mile of Caspar Beach. The village of Mendocino proper is about four miles to the south, while bustling Fort Bragg is under an eight-mile drive north.

Inside this space, you'll have a loveseat for relaxing. Entertainment options include WiFi, cable TV, a DVD player, and a movie library.

A colorful kitchen offers all the major appliances (minus a dishwasher) you'd expect, so vacation meals will be a snap to prepare. There's a two-person table right by the sunny window or take your plates outside and dine al fresco on the semi-private patio.

At night, a queen bed offers two guests a comfortable spot to recharge. The bathroom has details like wainscoting and gleaming floors, as well as a spacious walk-in shower. You'll also have a private washer and dryer for keeping your vacation clothes looking their best.

If you have a larger group, Caspar Daydream can be rented together with Caspar Dream for total of 12 guests. But, during your stay at this sweet studio cottage, you and your companion will be very comfortable.

When you're not enjoying the hot tub, walk to Point Cabrillo Light Station State Historic Park or plan a meal out at Cafe Beaujolais in downtown Mendocino. Visit the often photographed Glass Beach in Fort Bragg and then stop by North Coast Brewing Company for a pint of Old Rasputin Russian Imperial Stout.

This great location offers nearby access to both rocky and sandy beaches, the Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens (five miles north), galleries and eateries in town and conveniences like grocery and drug stores in Fort Bragg.

Whether you're planning a solo trip to rejuvenate or a romantic getaway, this charming studio is a wonderful Mendocino retreat!

Please be aware that, according to local rules and regulations, hot tubs will not be operational in this region. As local policies change by the hour, access to amenities is beyond our control. We encourage you to check local regulations before your trip so you can be as prepared as possible.

You are full of yourselves. You want to hear what I loved but not the criticism, which I have plenty of: The first thing is the nonrefundable transaction; the second is the excessive charges and fees that I did not know beforehand; the third is that I stayed five nights and there was only one set of towels; fourth, I was charged cleaning for five nights and there was no one around (basically I feel I was ripped off). Fifth, the place is behind a three-story building with an exposed raggedly looking hut-tub to the side. In all fairness, the place is clean and the bed is comfortable. It has a good size bathroom, but the amenities were sparse. The kitchenette is adequately supplied with a fridge, utensils, plates, etc. In all honesty, I cannot recommend the place and I will not stay there again.
Manager response:
We are very sorry to see this guest was so displeased. The fees are all displayed on our website once a guest has selected dates so they can see their total cost before booking. We leave one set of towels per person in the home, and there is a washer and dryer provided for guest use if they need to launder their towels or other things during their stay. Thank you!

Once you get over the surprise of this house being attached to a huge storage building and go inside, it is a pleasant surprise. It is spacious, clean and nicely decorated. The deer eat, play, and sleep right outside the window. Fun to watch. The directions were a bit challenging but hopefully they will fix that.

My wife and I rented Caspar Daydream for our anniversary weekend. The location was perfect, we were close to Mendocino and Fort Bragg and had access to several other recreational areas. The place was cozy, the small heater kept it warm. We could see the lighthouse from the hot tub at night and the satellite TV entertained us while it rained. We would not hesitate to book it again.

Great house! It was very relaxing and the out the front of the house was gorgeous!!!

Pros: can walk to ocean/light house. Close to both Mendocino and Fort Bragg. Clean. Saw 3 turkeys, 2 foxes and, at the ocean, a whale!!
Cons: excessive fees. (50% of advertised price), demand pricing, closet with carpet smells moldy. Very small toilet area--difficult for tall or wide people.
Manager response:
We will get the carpets cleaned immediately to address any odors associated with them. Thank you!

Had everything we needed! The internet stopped working but our friends were staying at the main Caspar house.

We loved our stay at Caspar Dream. Clean, cozy, and spacious. The light from the gas heater was cheerful and it kept the house warm at night. Convenient to both Mendocino and Ft Bragg. We would stay again.

Enjoyed our stay. Wish it was longer.

We enjoyed your place. It is a great deal considering its location. We had to cut off one day due to pet incident and then leave earlier than we wanted to to death in family. We were bummed all the way around. I always looks for things I would change if I owned the place but understand why a renter would not embrace my suggestions. We would have loved to bring our two small four-legged family members.

Was hoping it was closer to ocean but overall great stay, very clean, hot tub was a bonus and the scenery is so beautiful.
Easy trips to glass beach, lighthouse, state parks, etc. thank you!

Had a nice relaxing vacation. Was able to enjoy the hot tub with a view of the ocean and hear sea lions. The location is not very secluded from neighbors but quiet from traffic and beach-goers. Unable to get the heater to work but they did provide a space heater. Comfy bed. Great location in relevance to things-to-do in Mendocino and Fort Bragg.

The Caspar Cottage was in the perfect location to hike along the coast, visit the lighthouse or walk around Mendocino/Ft Bragg. The bed was very comfortable and the cottage nicely appointed throughout. Even the washer/dryer was a bonus if you needed. The area is quiet and set back from the road so minimal noise can be heard. The hot tub was perfect at night after a long day of hiking. The posting says the gas fireplace is good for ambiance but it's the only source of heat for the entire cottage and when the temperature drops outside it can take a while for the cottage to warm up. There is an additional space heater provided (which we needed) and was helpful. The internet was not reliable and when it did work, the internet was too slow to download anything. There is satellite TV with a decent number of channels. Also, there are some neighbors nearby so not as much privacy as we had hoped for. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and the cottage had everything we needed. The location really can't be beat!

Very sweet home, washer and dryer, hot tub, full kitchen, comfy bed!

Lovely walking access to the Point Cabrillo lighthouse and a partial view of the ocean. You can hear sea lions and walk through a nearby neighborhood to a public access point to see them. Jughandle park and the trails there are easy to get to and absolutely breathtaking. The place is decorated colorfully and the bed is comfy.
